After misfortune struck our garage door, I cringed, knowing everything costs more since Covid. Had I known a hail storm were coming the next day, I'd have been even more worried about finding the right people to help with the door. Yelp help (in the form of Ascent) literally started 10 minutes after my quote request. Louie was prompt, yet patient with my stingy hopes of avoiding full replacement. He explained options clearly. He also offered a price that undercut the first company to stop in by four hundred dollars pre tax and could do it in a couple days vs 7-10 days. No trip charge. Yeah, I would love it if he stops by. He did, quickly securing what the previous company tech called a "significant safety risk" requiring a few hundred dollars to mitigate, allowing the door to close fully. No charge. Golden rule stuff. After examination, we agreed a replacement door was necessary after all. No pressure. Just facts. On point. He didn't have to sell me, especially considering he could do this within a few days, not 7-10 days as offered by his competition. Installation was quick and he was on his way. Flawless victory. Looked around online for companies in the Denver area with good reviews, and saw Ascent mentioned frequently. The good reviews are warranted. Louie was friendly, laid back and genuine. When I called, the response was immediate, pricing was up front, and the work was scheduled and completed quickly. There was an issue with the opener (not at all related to Louie's work), and he came back the next morning to address it. All's working great now. My 13-year-old Craftsman 3/4-hp opener had a failing cable/chain, and the door was quite noisy. Louie came, appraised the whole thing and while suggesting a new opener to avoid possible problems in the near future he was satisfied with my decision to replace only the rail ass'y and the door rollers. Louie stole my down payment. I would not trust Ascent Garage Doors. He quoted me, took my down payment and ghosted me. I spoke to him once and he said he would call me back. Now after repeatedly reaching out for an entire year I have got nothing. Texts, calls, voicemails, etc. He has stolen my down payment and left me with little choice but to leave an honest review. He found a couple of other issues (which could have attributed to the broken spring...in addition to its age) which he pointed out and gave a quote to address those on the spot. His pricing is super reasonable and looks like the work quality is top notch. Repaired everything in a timely fashion and even did a complementary tune up on the whole system. During this Covid situation it's great to see service providers like Louie taking all the precautions to keep his customers safe. Gloves, mask and he disinfected all the surfaces he touched with Lysol before leaving. He's also offering free garage tune-ups to any "front-line" workers during the pandemic so give him a call!
