I just got off the phone with him again and he gave me some great advice/tips about my resume. Overall my experience with Jeremy and The Covelo group is outstanding. I called and spoke to the person who answered the phone, and he tried hard to convince me that I couldn't do any of the work they might have available -- despite a bachelor's degree from a top university and a five minute description of what I've been doing recently. I guess after talking with me for five minutes he knows my entire work history. When I politely disagreed, he actually raised his voice and scolded me. I must've spoken to the same person as the reviewer below (perhaps it is Tim O'Brien, the president of the company?). Bullet dodged.

I felt as if they cared about my career goals and interests as they would let me know when work surrounding my interests were available. Tim Obrien would always follow up with me after working to see if I was treated well or if I had any complaints about the client I was working for. I never felt that I would be asked to do anything outside of my wheelhouse and that I could always call Jason Best if I had an issue with anything. I always found the assignments with corporate clients to be great, as they would often provide lunch and have me doing something interesting. Jason Best gets a thumbs up for me. If you're looking for an agency that has your back and is interested in helping you find work, I'd give them a call.

The lady who interviewed me literally iced me out as soon as she saw me. She proceeded to inform me of all the reasons why I should not work for this company. Like what?!?! lol. She immediately came across disinterested in me, even though I have 15 years of serving experience. She got snippy with me and said she needed to update my resume upon finding out I had not been working at my previous restaurant. Although most companies would be glad as I would be able to take on more events. I told her I had a left a job in 2021 due to moving. She seemed to cling to that response as the "Ah ha!" moment for her to jump all over me that I shouldn't want to work for her company. Almost insinuating I would be a no show at their events. Again, like what?!?! She then went on a rant that there are zero events in my neighborhood, and that god forbid I would have to travel to events and I didn't seem like the type that wanted to travel. Girl it's Los Angeles, we all travel lol. Once she told me the company does not reimburse on parking and that I would have to pay for parking at all these events, I told her it would not work for me. She was plain out rude and I felt incredibly disrespected. If anyone from the company reads this, I can't remember her name but she sort of resembled Edna Mode. I can't imagine working for this company if this is how they treat employees. Imagine how they treat clients. Once as a photography client (I hired Rob Nelson as a photographer to do some family portraits and want to return again for more). 2. Once as a model (I worked with Rob as the photographer and his wife, Gina Nelson, as the stylist and the shoot included a make up and hair stylist). 3. Once as a photographer (I used their space and some of their lighting and shading equipment for a stop-motion photo shoot I was doing as the photographer). 4. Once as an artist where I attended one of their monthly life-drawing events. 5. Once to organize and host an indoor swap meet. They were always extremely organized, helpful & a pleasure to work with. The space was clean, spacious & flexible enough to do all sorts of activities. Parking was plentiful. The space was able to accommodate many people. The cast was happy with the wifi. Perfect for castings, shoots, rehearsals, or events. They even had left-over refreshments that they shared with us each time! I will definitely hire them again for any projects I need done. They are truly focused on meeting the needs of their clients & will go above and beyond to help wherever they can. This place is truly a gem!

He's given me some suggestions on my resume from a recruiter's perspective, has been very responsive in saying that he would stay in touch about possible opportunities in the area, & mostly importantly, reaffirmed some of my faith in recruiting firms. It's truly reassuring to see an owner of a company "step outside of the box" & take responsibility for a negative experience. Finally, I had enough of the aggression and I stopped the interview by thanking her for taking the time to call but I wouldn't be moving forward. She replied to me, yeah you aren't a fit and hung up the phone on me. I called the company to complain and the manager said they never had a complaint about any of there employees. I am assuming the manager was insinuating that it was because of me I had a bad experience. I am making a formal complaint so this won't happen to anyone else.

Both times this amazing team went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, confident, prepared and they just genuinely cared! They were always on the ball! Always responded to questions, calls, voicemails, emails, etc. The team was always available for any questions I had and would check in with me periodically to see how things were going - but not TOO often, so I didn't feel micromanaged. When I returned to the agency for a new placement they knew exactly what I needed and was eager to find the right placement for me.
