The space is just big enough that you don't feel like it's tiny but just small enough to feel like you're right in the action. The bar tenders were friendly, they had lots of beer selections (not all on tap, many canned options) and the band turned out to be absolutely fabulous! Following Strange Brew on Facebook is a great way to find out about all their different shows (bands, trivia, comedy, etc) and I don't know why we waited so long to get there! The burger was cooked a perfect medium rare and it was well seasoned and very large. It came with a large portion of French fries and pickles on the side. We hadn't seen our server in a while so I went over to the bar and let them know that I wanted to cancel my order because it just wasn't what I wanted and the price tag was $60. I've been willing to pay that if it was what I had my heart set on, but it wasn't. They said they would cancel it. In a little bit, someone then came over, not our waitress, to tell me that I will be charged half of the price of the beef Wellington because I canceled it and it was already made. And of course, I was not OK with that. I once again explained to them that I had called and asked if it was a traditional beef Wellington and was told that yes it was. They said that the hosts are not trained on the menu so they cannot answer questions on them. I then asked what is the point of having someone who is untrained on the menu answer your phones because sometimes people are going to ask questions before they choose to come to a restaurant. I refused to pay the $30, she stated she would have to call the manager back because the manager was not on premises that day and see what she could do. A negroni is an Italian cocktail, made of equal parts gin, vermouth rosso (red, semi-sweet), and Campari, generally served with ice, and commonly garnished with an orange slice or orange peel. It is considered an apéritif. They also have an Obi Wan Negroni made with Cold Brew Infused Campari instead. For my first food item, I'm having the Cream of Mushroom soup with chicken. Cream of mushroom soup is a simple type of soup where a basic roux is thinned with creamor milk and then mushrooms or mushroom brothare added. This is delicious! It's nice and hot with a lot of shredded chicken. For my entree, I'm having the Brussels Sprout Salad made with shaved Brussels sprouts, spring mix, bacon, pomegranate drizzle, silvered almonds, shaved Parmesan and lemon vinaigrette dressing. Look at the height of this! This tastes great! I am also having a side of mushy peas. Mushy peas are a traditional British side dish of marrowfat peas that are cooked until soft and mashed into a mush. The dish is especially popular in Northern England and the Midlands, and often eaten with fish and chips or served as part of "pie and peas". Here's a quick overview of mushy peas: Ingredients** Traditionally made with dried marrowfat peas, but can be substituted with frozen peas or green split peas. I love this! For my last drink, I'm having a Godfather. The Godfather is a sweet and strong cocktail that blends Scotch whisky and amaretto liqueur. It's typically served in an old-fashioned glass over ice and can be garnished with an orange twist. The drink became popular in the 1970s disco scene and is named after the 1972 film starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino. It's not easy being a woman and being by yourself but Erin the bartender made me feel welcome right away. My battery almost died and she went above and beyond by lending me her personal charger. I was grateful due to the fact that my phone was dying. She handled the bar with ease. Most people seemed to know each other and were very pleasant. I saw a couple pool tables to the side. Keno was playing but I'm not sure what else they offered. TV's were on playing sports and the enthusiast were really enjoying the game. I had already eaten so I can't tell you about the food but from what I saw it looked delicious If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely stop in and hopefully it's Erin's shift.
