My move wasn't the so called 'normal' move because I was closing my business in the US, selling 2 homes and moving overseas with my mother's estate. All of this required five 40 foot containers. I was extremely cautious in selecting the company that would finally handle all this for me and literally researched at least 8 different companies. I finally narrowed down my search to 4 companies and had each come out and survey my homes, business and storage facility. Two of the companies I immediately dismissed because the surveyors they sent to my home didn't seem to have an understanding of the process of moving to another country. I suspect that they were just from a local company that handles moves within MA. RSS was the last company to come out. Their head guy Alex came up over the weekend from NY and spent a great deal of time with my wife and I going over every aspect of the packing and loading. We were sold. This guy was super nice and very knowledgeable. Before closing the deal, we wanted to speak with RSS's partner in Australia. Without any hesitation Kate gave us their contact details. We of course called over and spoke with Emma who couldn't speak highly enough about Kate and RSS. We closed the deal with our sales rep, Kate DeLuca. She assured me that Alex and his crew would pack and load everything from the four locations in 2 days. Our moving day was set for 1 month later. Prior to our moving date, Alex came back over to drop off some boxes because my wife wanted to pack some of her personal items herself. Finally our move date was here and Alex and his crew showed up as scheduled at 8:00 am. Kate also came up later in the morning to check up on her 'guys' as she calls them. They packed our 5 bedroom home so quickly and so professionally we were shocked. The first container arrived at about 1 and the second at about 2:30. Both containers were fully packed, inventoried and loaded by 4:30. Our 2nd home, the office and the storage unit were packed and loaded the following morning. We called Kate to let her know that the last container left at around 2 pm. So far, so good. Kate and Michelle kept in touch with us, giving updates, throughout the shipping. Once we arrived in Australia we went to Palmers International to meet with Emma and get all the customs documents in order. We were very impressed with her. She assured us that she would treat this shipment as though it were her own and be available to us whenever we needed her. The containers arrived, cleared customs and went through the quarantine inspection. Everything was in order and completed. Our delivery was set for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 3 containers were coming to our home and 2 to a storage space. Emma was onsite to oversee the deliveries. To sum up, I would highly recommend RSS (Kate, Michelle, Alex) and Palmers International (Emma) to anyone moving abroad. I was expecting there to be some damage but not one thing in any of those 5 containers was damaged during their journey across the pond. Kate wasn't exaggerating, Alex is the best. If you want commemorative stamps, get in here on the release date, because they'll run out quickly. Absolutely do not be in a hurry when you come in for service at the window; they usually have only one of their two windows open, and nobody (neither customers nor P.O. employees) seems to feel any sense of urgency. The employees are nice enough, just not nearly as quick as in other locations. We have waited in line for up to 25 minutes (behind just two other people; it's not the Christmas rush!), we've had people in front of us give up and leave, while the customer at the window is oblivious to anyone waiting behind him/her, and the employee seems to make no effort to hurry the transaction along. This is a normal day, here. People go to a post office to transact business and then get on with their lives, not to camp out, and there are ways that employees could speed up an excessively long transaction without making an especially slowpoke customer feel rushed or unimportant. Also, if you have mail that must get out right away, I would take it inside the building to drop it in the mail slot. Over the past few years, we've occasionally dropped mail in the blue box on the side street (Plaza Drive) and more than once, that mail seems to have arrived at its destination a few days later than we'd have expected it to. Maybe it's just a strange coincidence, but we've learned that it's better for us to skip the convenient blue box. All in all, we avoid this P.O. when we can, and take a deep breath of resignation when we can't.

Don't generally go here but recently needed their passport service and chose this office because…read morethey have can take your photo onsite. I scheduled an appointment online which was easy. Went with the required forms and documents but when I got to the clerk we could not proceed because I had the short birth certificate, and you need the long form cert that has your parents names. She told me how to apply and to come back and walk up without making an appointment. I filed for the long form birth certificate and it came promptly so I headed back to the post office with my new birth certificate, and no appointment. New clerk told me immediately I needed to make an appointment if I needed a photo taken. This wasn't made clear on the first visit. No longer having patience for the process I got my passport photo take at staples and made a 3rd appointment, this time with no photo required. Third time is the charm and all went well. I will note that each of the 3 visits there was a fair wait, mostly due to a single customer being unorganized causing a delay for everyone. The staff seemed pleasant and efficient and must be used to suck circumstances.

This is a small one man operation run by the US Postal Service. The postal worker who is generally…read moreon duty is very friendly, courteous and helpful. However there are times when the post office becomes very crowded with customers and you have to wait very long for basic service such as getting stamps. This post office has a ZIP Code of 19050 which is actually in Yeadon not Lansdowne as the zip code would imply. The Lansdowne facility on Union Avenue this is where you have to go for other services such as obtaining a passport. It is a very convenient location on the main strip in Yeadon on Church Lane. Across the street you will find several restaurants, stores, bakery, hair salon and a lawyers office. On the side of the building you will find ample parking. If you just have mail and do not want to go in there is a drive-by mailbox where you can leave your mail on Whitby Avenue at the corner of Church Lane.

Social distancing rules are being in good use, because of COVID-19 (Corona Virus) Pandemic. Excellent work here! Line moves very fast. Air is comfortable. Not stuff or hot inside & the use sneeze guards to protect themselves (& others). The line starts anywheres on the ramp, but being that they are so very quick with their services it won't take long the line moves shorter. Once one person leaves from the line, another person may pass in. They have a lovely selection of Hallmark cards to choose from. Please vote for the postal services. They deserve $13 a hr. they do a lot of leg work besides using those trucks to get to route & the next location. I had family that worked in Chinatown in Philadelphia so I should know & parking is much more difficulty to find which means a lot, lot more leg work. Carrying those bags up & down steps esp. areas who have their property built to protect their holmes from flooding & their prize possessions not ruined. ;)
