Had a regular 6-month cleaning appointment early March 2026. I advised my hygienist that my permanent retainer broke off a few days prior. She advised we could get a retainer made for $250. I said let's go ahead and make a retainer - she then asked if I would be interested Invisalign, they would have to do the same scans either way. If I decide it's too expensive/didn't want it, they would just get me a retainer made. My teeth are pretty straight as I had braces as a child. They came back with $5,000 for Invisalign. I said no thank you to that and would just like a retainer made. They then told me that would cost $650. I said that is not what I was quoted. They told me they would call me back. Three weeks went by with no word so I called back. They then sent me in circles, Maria asked why I would want to retain the gaps in my teeth, I let her know that I do not have any gaps.. she then asked why I would want to retain crowding.. I again let her know I had no crowding and asked if she was even looking at my file. She said she was and that if I had braces x amount of years ago not to even worry about it. I asked why the hygienist would suggest a retainer and Maria said "she's not in orthodontics, she's just a hygienist" and then said she could have a retainer made for $350. I again advised that is not what I was quoted and she said "well our prices went up". I said okay, no thank you and please cancel my next appointment. She called back 10 minutes later and said she was "looking at the wrong file" and they would make me a top and bottom retainer for $250 total. All that said, it just felt very scamy and very much bullying. Not sure if they get commission on selling Invisalign or what but they weren't even looking at my file and asking me, in the same conversation, why I would want to retain gaps and crowding.. overall terrible experience. First off, the office is very nicely decorated, with sort of a nice warm Indian vibe. The exam rooms have the chairs facing toward picture windows looking at some nicely groomed Japanese pines. Dr. Patel seems a little "caffeinated", but he is very professional and friendly, and he explains everything he is doing, which is nice. He and his assistants use digital x-rays and use a fiber optic camera to show you things like cavities on a screen. Dr. Patel also uses things like dental dams to protect the inside of your cheeks from accidental slips while doing fillings. I got two small fillings the other day there, and Dr. Patel cleaned up and filled a third little micro-cavity that he saw during the procedure for no extra charge. Overall, this office seems very concerned with providing the best experience possible. Oh, if you end up going here, tell them that Jarin Udom referred you. They have a crazy referral program that can get you anything from a $10 Starbucks gift card, to a dinner for two, to a "weekend getaway" trip for two! ;) read more

I called their office to request a partial to fill in a tooth I have missing. They set the appointment but never e-mailed me the new patient paperwork. I arrived 20 minutes before my appointment and then waited over an hour before seeing the dentist. The dentist refused to make the partial, saying that it was outdated and not for my generation. Why did they set the appointment if they don't do partials? He then requested an x-ray. The x-ray technician took the film but did not put radiation blocking bib on me. I asked her about it; she said it was at her discretion. I would not recommend this dentist or office; now, I have never been to a dentist who did not use the bib to protect the customer during the x-ray. read more

I would leave a positive review but lately Yelp has been removing my reviews claiming that they arent valid for some reason. Nice to know that some brainless AI thinks it knows better than I do what I like or don't like. I had a great experience and as always a thorough cleaning of my teeth and examine. I know I need a wisdom tooth removed but I might lose some of my wisdom and ability to leave such pithy reviews if I do! Staff is great, always friendly, and they really seem to care about my oral health. I would attach some photos but I didnt take any while at the dentist, they did take some x-rays though, so maybe someone can share those? Ok Yelp, is this review long enough? Dr Patel and his staff were so very kind when I was in their office. I was in severe pain due to TMJ and instead of quickly telling me I needed sugery like every other dentist had he gave me a new look at it. He told me that it would take work and time, but if I wanted it to work he would help me. His entire staff was very friendly and fun. I am actually looking forward to working with them in the future. This place is extremely well run and about as good as a dentistry gets. The front office was very nice and cheerful, when helping with the paperwork. Then after giving new patients a tour of the office, it is on to the cleaning. The dental hygienist, Bri, was extremely nice and helpful when performing the cleaning, and initial review. I think Dr. Patel is the best dentist I've ever been to. He has the state of the art equipment and explains all the benefits. He's genuinely nice and excited about dentistry. He was able to help me with an ongoing problem of grinding my teeth. He doesn't just give you a mouth guard he actually gives you a custom guard that helps retrain the jaw to stop grinding. I've sent him about 10 people for the zoom whitening and everyone's loved it.. definitely the best deal in town. read more

Dr. Patel did an excellent same-day crown on one of my teeth. After my initial consultation I was treated to a QT gift card as a welcome gift which was a nice surprise. Since I was new to his practice I was understandably nervous the day of the procedure. Surprisingly I never felt the stings of the initial numbing shots which I greatly appreciated. Dr. Patel recently took over this practice which used to be known as AllCare Dental. I have been very pleased with the knowledge and up to date practices Dr. Patel employs. He put a crown on one of my teeth a while back and he provided in depth details of what he was doing, along with a mirror for me to view the work in progress and worked quickly and painlessly. On my most recent visit, he applied fillings on 2 teeth and a preliminary crown on another and the entire process took 1.25 hours, beginning promptly at my appt. time. I have had a lot of dental work in the past, a few root canals, a few crowns and several fillings. In the crowns I have received in the past from 2 different dentists, the dentist seems to grind down the existing tooth to a nub and then apply the crown over top. When Dr. Patel performed the same service for me (on 2 different occasions), he ground out the interior of the tooth, retaining most of the tooth walls and fitting a "crown" into the missing area left behind. He explained that his goal is always to preserve as much of the original tooth as possible. Because I've had so much work in the past I was very inquisitive as to his methods and differences. He was very cordial about answering my questions and providing details (and apparently these are not new methods). Not only that, but I have never before been to a dentist that applies anesthetic via injection so painlessly! On this particular occasion, for no particular reason I am aware, he provided a kindness to me regarding one of our shared interests (I don't know him personally outside his practice and have only been a patient for a year & a half or so). This particular gesture was small for him I am sure, but nonetheless was very much appreciated as I was not having a good string of months lately and dental work is synonymous with torture for me. I will leave the care of my teeth in Dr. Patel's hands for the duration of his career. read more

Very disappointed! We had been with the previous owner Dr Patrick for years! No one ever needed dental work, we felt comfortable going to him, it wasn't traumatic at all for the kids. Dr Patel took over since our last visit, we made an appointment for Dr Patrick and we're never told he retired. My kids each walked out with multiple fillings, I had to tell him to stop filling teeth! He tried to tell me my daughter had an old filing that needed to be replaced...she's never had a filing in her life!!!! Then they over billed me, hoping that comes back to my account in the amount of time quoted. The entire time we were there I was pressured to have my teeth cleaned, even after I said no. Then to top it all off they send me a flier saying how much deductible each of my children has left and to hurry and use it before it runs out?!? Never again! This is one of the best dentists that I have been too. I have high anxiety with regards to dentists and the dental hygienist was very compassionate and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Patel was very professional and his work is amazing. I needed shots and I didn't feel any pain when working on my teeth. Worse experience ever!!! The dentist dropped a tool in the whole of my tooth and left in there for over a week!!! Went back to get it out and he still couldn't get it out, so I had to pay a specialist well over a thousand dollars to get it out, plus bc of the tool left in my tooth for so long I developed blood poisoning and became very ill. I was on antibiotics and steroids for over a month. The staff was not only very rude and unapologetic, they continue to bill me for their mess up! My husband called today to speak to someone about the issue and she was once again very rude and unapologetic, she even hung up on him!! I understand that it was a mistake and accidents happen. However the way they handled everything was absolutely unacceptable!! I mean if you get in a car accident it's exactly that an accsident. However the responsible party is still held liable and is financially responsible. It just blows me away and Asha an "I'm so sorry" goes a really long way. Ditto, Ditto, Ditto with all the 5 star reviews...Dr. Patel is a great dentist, has great staff, and I always receive the best treatment. I don't have the best teeth, so in last few years going to Asha Dental, I've had extractions, root canals and veneers, and now going through process for an implant. I recently even had to go in for an emergency when one of my teeth broke off late one Friday afternoon. He and one of his clinicians gave up their Saturday morning to make sure my tooth was properly repaired. And they give me choices each time I have an 'event'; and they also are helpful in the financial realm, making sure I know the choices and timeline for payments. All around, 5-star in my opinion. And by the way, at 65 years young, I have been to a whole heck of a lot of dentists and they rate the best of all of the dentists in my lifetime. read more

I had vaneers placed on six teeth about 10 years ago from Dr. Patel. The transformation was amazing. He moved away for a couple of years, and I had to see other dentists. When I would have my teeth cleaned at these places, the hygenists and dentists typically raved about my vaneers. They would look at my teeth and show each other my mouth. One dentist even said they were like artwork. I am very happy to have Dr. Patel back in Kansas City. Recently, I bit into something I shouldn't have and one vaneer came off. Dr. Patel replaced it without charge and without grilling me about my thoughtlessness. I love my teeth, the care I have received so far, and the confidence I have in the staff at Asha Dental.
