We've stayed here several times over the past 5 yrs. Always great staff and accommodations. Beds could use a little help but cabins, campground and bath houses are always in good shape. Leaving Ashland Resort as I type this review. Love this resort and have been coming here since 2010 when we first got our ATVs. Have been spoiled by their accommodations which are always clean and comfortable. We normally get the deluxe cabin but this trip none were available and we got a park model cabin instead. Not disappointed. Great space for the two of us. Clean and cozy. The staff is always great and friendly. As an African-American I am sometimes concerned about how I may be accepted but have never experienced anything but kindness and friendliness from the individuals at Ashland and surrounding community. The little store can save you in a pinch if you've left some items behind. They also have gas on site. The kitchen in the cabin is equipped with items so you can cook the food you bring and don't forget salt and pepper! But if you do, the little store can save you. Great supply of necessities and memorabilia. It had been awhile since our last visit but Ashland did not disappoint once again. Also has quick and easy access to trails. So glad they've expanded their business and have remained successful. I hope upon my return they have a cafe or restaurant. That would be great. Overall the resort is nice and the people are friendly and helpful with great amenities. We rented the Ashland Lodge # 1 and loved how it looked and the layout. It could have been one of the best places we have ever stayed if not for one very important detail that will prevent us staying there again. The beds. They are the hardest, thinnest most uncomfortable things Ive ever slept on except maybe for an army cot. I dont know if its just that cabin and no reviews I read beforehand mentioned it or we would have looked elsewhere. Maybe Im just picky but after a long day of riding a comfy bed is a major thing especially at the higher priced lodges. Just some cheap bed in a box memory foam mattresses would be a huge upgrade. I dont understand how more people havent complained about this. If you are used to sleeping on a plywood sheet then you will have no problems with the resort as everything else is great. read more

Just got back from 3 days riding the Hatfield McCoy ATV trails in Northfork, WV. The Ashland Resort was a referral from a friend. I booked online with ease at www.atvresort.com. We were pleased with the friendly & helpful service from Teresa, Patty, and Paul who were patient in answering our questions (which are probably repetitive throughout the day). We camped on a primative tent site with water but no electricity. Sites were spacious and the restrooms were clean with plenty of hot water for your shower. Resort is right on the trail and you can ride your ATV into the neighboring small towns which is very convenient. They also have RV sites, cabins and cottages. Prices for sites, cabins, cottages, and general store seemed high but I understand that it's set at whatever the market will bear and the resort stays full and books quickly (ie. solid demand). We stayed at the ashland resort for 3 nights. The camp grounds and cabins were clean, comfortable and well maintained. The staff was helpful, friendly and professional. We showed without many of our necessities and Stephanie was awesome at helping us get the items we needed and the general store was well stocked. The trails in the area were very clearly marked and well maintained which provided for outstanding riding adventures. I enjoyed every second my stay there. FYI, if you have a diesel truck bring extra fuel and be sure you top off prior to getting to the resort because there are only 2 pumps in the entire county. In our case one was out of diesel and the other closed at 8:00 pm. read more

Just got back from 3 days riding the Hatfield McCoy ATV trails. We chose the Ashland Resort with very little information except for what we could find on their website. We were definitely pleased with the place. We camped on a full service 50 amp site. Sites were spacious and rest rooms were clean. Resort is right in the trail which is very convenient for riding They have a bunch of cabins and cottages as well. Staff was very nice. Definitely a "do again" read more

Truly a place for 'ATV Heaven.' Traveled all the way there from WI- w my family of 3 and stayed in a 1 room cabin. The resort is beautiful with direct access to some awesome trails! The cabin is very well kept and the bathrooms are newer and fairly clean. Workers at the resort were helpful but in a sense that they 'had to be'.. I would definitely recommend bringing everything you need and definitely lots of food bc the nearest grocery store is about 30-45 mins away. Would recommend this place if you have yet to ride the Indian Ridge trail system! read more

Very expensive and service has gone down hill website says one thing but when you check in you get something else when questioned they said for an extra charge they can honor what was online. When shown their web site they responded that's a mistake and sorry. There was nothing that could be done The prices in their store are way over priced.this has been in the last year do yourself a favor and look somewhere else read more

We stayed at Ashland for five days. It was a great place to ride. Right on the trail system and not that far from town that you could drive your utv to. Will be going back. The only regret is that we stayed in a rv with only water and elec. Next time we will get sewer also because there dump station is so down hill it is impossible to use. read more

Stay ANYWHERE besides here! Came in February and it was great so we came again. BAD decision! They DO NOT enforce their quiet time so I hope you can sleep to loud music, screaming and people riding their machines all night long! Not allowed to wash machines. They have only 2 clothes dryers for the entire resort. Spend your money somewhere else so you can enjoy your stay! read more

Great place to stay. This was our first trip in our new RV and were a little apprehensive about driving up a mountain we were unfamiliar with. They were so helpful in supplying us with directions. We had a pull thru site with full hookups. We had plenty of space and the campground was immaculately kept. They were also very helpful with any questions we had and the store had everything we forgot. I saw where one person mentioned that there wasn't a place to wash your ATV unless you needed to clean out the radiator. This is true, but we used a gentlemen right down the road. For $10 he washed our RZR for us! Can't beat that! This is where we are staying from now on. read more

The access to the Hatfield and McCoy Trails is incredible! The pictures of the cabins on their website were very deceiving. The cabins are very small, but overall clean. The shower house was clean and overall nice and decently accessible from the cabins without a bathroom. The staff was not friendly at all. In our 4 day stay there I never saw one staff member crack a smile or act like they enjoyed their job, and they were quite rude. The local fire station came and washed ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes for donations which was really nice. The location is about 30 minutes away from the nearest town, so it's a haul if you need to leave for anything. They do have a store there on location, but everything in it is very overpriced. Also, if you plan on staying make sure to bring your own linens, pillows, and towels. We definitely will not be going back. read more
