Feeling comfortable was important, as this person would be capturing both our engagement photos and the day of the wedding. We definitely felt right at home with Kristin through the whole process and couldn't be happier with our decision. She was professional, timely, and detailed. For our engagement photos, she accommodated all of our odd requests (shooting at the bar we met, bringing our very shy dog, and and outfit change). Earlier this year, she found out she would be having her second baby right around the time of our wedding. She was upfront from the get go, and had a back up plan just in case she came early, but reassured me we would be in good hands either way. Kristin ended up still shooting our wedding about a week before her daughter was born and was still so amazing! I don't know how she does it. We also loved our second shooter, Nancy. They were both so patient and moved around the day with such ease, it was like they weren't even there! The photos do a wonderful job of story-telling the entire day, and we now have priceless memories captured beautifully. From my dad tearing up during the ceremony, to doing the chicken dance at the reception, we will cherish these memories forever. Thank you Kristin and Nancy!!

The whole thing exceeded our expectations. The wedding video was something we decided to do last minute, and we are so happy we did! The whole day goes by so quickly, so it was nice to have all of the footage to relive the day. The location that they had set up was a beautiful farm in Stilwell (Serendipity Farms) and they had arranged a huge beautiful wreath in front of the barn for a gorgeous backdrop. We were there for about 30 minutes and had a great time; Rye & her husband Chase were SO great with our toddler. They made him laugh and smile and really gained his trust so he had a blast and cooperated like a little angel. A week after our shoot we met at their studio to go over the photos where we then narrowed it down to our favorite shots. We chose 'Package A' which included 5 printed photos for $750. Here is where I dock one star because I couldn't find any pricing on the Rye Studios website before going into this meeting, so it was a little awkward discussing pricing and options in the moment. It was difficult to follow the package pricing versus the a la carte options. I also wish we would have been provided the digital copies of the photos we chose; The only digital copies we have were the ones uploaded to the Rye Studios Facebook - with the logo attached. All in all, the photos turned out spectacular but based solely on the price for 5 prints, we will probably only use Rye for special occasions. If they had offered a flat session fee for digital copies I would hire them multiple times a year! I will reiterate that I am thrilled with the shots that we did get, I just wish we had access to them.

But these prices were off the chart crazy. We bought, out of naivete. Hindsight..... Their product was beautiful, though! We love our proofs and have learned from this one!

To begin with, Amy started out with a full explanation of how the session would go so there would be no surprises. She made sure my wife, our mothers, and I were comfortable and provided nice cold water bottles knowing that the hear might be too much for us. It is obvious from the beginning that she knows how to work with infants. The care she took to wrap our son in the various positions and set ups was so meticulous. Her set up was so practical for photographing a newborn with the heat up high and a great white noise machine humming away. The studio is perfect size with all the props, lights, and essentials within arms reach. The main stage for the infants are several thick sheets with the front part about 1 foot off the ground and the rear part about 4 feet off the ground. This is ideal because if she needs to lower or raise the child or part of the child all she has to do is gently place a rolled towel under the child which barely disrupts the child. The wrapping in the various wraps was amazing. She took the time to individually move each finger and toe so the perfect picture was acquired. The patience she has is something a new parent can learn from. He even peed down her shirt but that did not phase her! She quickly cleaned up and came back like nothing happened. We took my guitar for him to lay on. To prevent another pee accident she placed a couple thick towels on the guitar which ended doing their job as his bladder came back for a repeat performance . Basically, this was an amazing and memorable experience. Our baby boy was naked (and soooo cute) for about 2.5 hours without a peep due to Amy's gift of working with infants.

My husband and I had a wedding in LA and his family wasn't well enough to fly, so we hosted a fancy family gathering in KC. And I spaced on booking a photographer. She came to our location and took the most amazing pre-dinner photos of our group of 11 and made us all look flawless. Realistically, this will probably be the last time we are all together for such a happy occasion and Abby was professional and her photos came out insanely gorgeous. Absolutely hire her. Where do I even begin?…read more We had just a 28 person wedding including us, the bride and groom... Sounds simple, right? Well, we complicated it by marrying alllll the way out at Powell Gardens, and then doing to reception alllll the way back in town at Lidia's. Lots of driving! In addition to that, it was important to us (ok mostly me) to have a Zero Waste wedding- with stations set up all over the house/venues for waste to go to recycling, compost, Terracycle, burn-ables for our fire pit, etc. etc. It required a lot more work, and LaTasha helped to make it happen! LaTasha was CONSTANTLY on her feet, thinking ahead, anticipating my needs, conducting our rehearsal (we didn't know what the hell we were doing!!), picking up breakfast for us on the big day, wrangling folks for photos, collaborating with the photographer, making our yummy but somewhat boring looking cake POP with flowers and handmade bird toppers, video-ing all the toasts... I mean seriously, what can't she do?! She even helped me sneak a nerf bullet into my bestie-of-honor's bouquet so that I could surprise the groom with a silly inside joke during our vows when I handed him a flower with the nerf bullet tied to the stem... GOT HIM!!! Everyone in our families and close friend group admired LaTasha's hard work and cheerful can-do attitude. She fit right into the energy of our big day. She thinks of EVERYTHING. I absolutely loved working with her, and the amount of stress she saved me was just so impactful- my main goal for the weekend was to direct all our guests' well-meaning logistical questions to her, so that I didn't have to think or make decisions- I could just divorce my phone for the day and be present. It was one hell of a weekend. It would not have been as breezy and fun without LaTasha there to guide things.

She was incredibly organized, advocated for my mom to make sure all her needs and preferences were met, coordinated things with vendors. She made sure my mom did not have to lift a FINGER on her wedding day! She was with us for the rehearsal on Saturday directing to make sure everyone knew what was happening and from early morning on the wedding day until the last light was out at the venue in the evening. LaTasha helped with and ran everything from set-up to tear down, she kept detailed lists of every single thing we had for decor and who it belonged to and where it needed to end up. She is also one of the nicest people EVER while also being a hard-ass and making sure stuff gets DONE - coordinating with other vendors and also bridal party all while letting the bride enjoy her day (which is, seriously, exactly what you need in a wedding coordinator) I do not know how we would have gotten through the rehearsal and wedding day without her, not to mention all the times she talked my mom down about stressors and issues leading up to her wedding! LaTasha is an absolutely phenomenal wedding coordinator and absolutely everybody should hire her!! You don't even know it, but you need her running your special day!

We identified a location and starting tasking friends and contacting vendors within a week, but I quickly started to get overwhelmed with the amount of effort. I was trying to juggling working full time, traveling for work and planning a wedding with next to no notice when my best friend begged me to find a day-of wedding coordinator. I turned to trusty Yelp to help me out and was sad to see the lack of reviews for wedding vendors. However, I did find one review for Buffee Ann and saw I could contact her for a quote. She quickly replied and when I decided not to move forward was sweet in her response to my poor life choices. Only a few days later I changed my mind and she encouraged me to skype with her before making another bad decision. I am so glad I did! From the start Buffee was energetic and encouraging while also allowing my strong personality to dictate as much as I could of the planning process. I have to say at the end of the day, hiring Buffee to help me out was the BEST IDEA EVER! If you're planning a wedding, get help from the very start. Buffee offered suggestions for vendors after we ran into challenges with a few of ours, and we realized she would have been a savior if we had used her from day 1. She worked with our bartending service to help resolve a difficult issue and found me someone to help with my hair (which received numerous compliments).
