Our exp with Ashleys started good. We purchased quite a bit of furniture so they were so nice to us. Having problems with a piece and absolutely no help what so ever. When you are planning to buy furniture from ashley , do not give your phone number and address to store sales representative first .Sales person pretend to ask your information for an estimate When you're curious about the price of the furniture promotion, but there's a trick . No matter which ashley store you bought from and which sales person who helped you , the commission goes to that person who collected your information first. Even if you can buy it at a better deal at another ahshely store, it is difficult to trade because of that seller. i have very bad experience from 7979 weston Rd woodbridge salesperson . He did which I mentioned to me. He was so rude and didn't like the service, but he made a profit like this. The most horrible thing was for price match , i had to deal with this person even though i don't want contact him anymore this is what ashley policy is ,so i contacted him because I didn't have a choice. When I first called him, First , he asked me sending a sales order for price match by text , so I did as he said . i called him again because he didn't contact me after hours. he said he couldn't find the price on the website this time, so secondly, he request me to find price on the website and send him an email. so i asked him "If you want to make this request again, why didn't you reply me when you get my email ?? then He spoke to me. There are 100 customers waiting for him and he doesn't have time for this matter ;moreover, thirthly , he requested me again , find out every single items pictures with price on website which you claimed about and send him an email . My sales rep Gail was very professional and helpful, she spent her time finding me the right products, along with Deanna at management and the rest of the staff. Their furniture quality is very good, with a new trendy touch while still falling within the classic look and feel. Buyers beware when shopping with Ashley Furniture - 0 Stars I recently purchased a bedroom set from Ashley furniture store in Vaughan. After waiting several weeks due to COVID, the furniture arrived. I could hardly wait to finish work so we could open up all the boxes. After opening the products in my doorway I noticed that the 5 drawer chest was damaged with a couple big cracks, and splits in the back. I immediately started to call Ashley Customer Service to have the driver returned for the damaged product. I had waited 15 minutes to be connected to a virtual call with Richard, their virtual technician. Richard explained they were having technical difficulties that day, which may explain why we were disconnected and I had to go through the whole process again. Pictures of the damaged furniture were sent and I was told that someone would be in contact with me the next day. No one called me back so on the 3rd day I called again. I was told that they are awaiting approval for an exchange and I would be contacted the next day. When one one called, I again followed up with a phone call. To my surprise they told me they would not be returning to pick up the furniture. In addition I would be responsible to pay a 25% restocking fee for their damaged furniture because it was in my home for too long. I was baffled by this. Why should I be held responsible for damaged furniture? Or I could wait 4 or more weeks for them to deliver a new replacement. I told them this was unacceptable since I had already waited for the product and now I would have to wait another 4 or more weeks. Why should I be inconvenienced for their negligence? I asked to speak with the manager and was put on hold for a few minutes before the agent came back and said that Kira, Supervisor of Guest Care, reiterated that I was on the hook for 25% if I refused to wait. I was offered no empathy, no apology, take it or pay the restocking fee. I will never shop again from Ashley or recommend anyone to do so. Their Customer Service is the worst that I have ever experienced and I spoke to several service reps and a supervisor who refused to provide 'Guest Care' but would be in touch after the replacement to discuss customer appreciation (what???). I'm so disappointed, frustrated and unhappy as this new bedroom set was a gift for my son who was so excited for his new furniture. But his new room has now become an eyesore, nowhere to store his clothes topped with poor customer experience. read more

Edited to Add: I reached out to Ashley Furniture's guest care team and all they did was tell me that this is their policy and too bad. I'm sure the comment was for internet show to make people reading this review think they aren't such a lousy company. Everything written below is 100% true. Buyer beware. **** We bought a bed from ashley furniture in January 2018 - A king mattress, bed frame, headboard, and box spring. We spent a long time in the store deciding what we wanted, and specifically asked the sales person if it was a low profile box spring on the display bed in the store. He assured us it was not and that buying the standard one would be fine. It arrived and low and behold it was too high. I called the store and told oh well it's your fault final sale. The guy who sold it to us didn't care, he got his sale and we're the ones that have a bed that I need a step stool to get into. He never measured it or told us if it was the wrong height that it was final sale. It's easy for a sales person on commission to lie to the customer to assure a sale on the spot if the outcome of his lies falls in the lap of the customer. Now we've had to take our bed apart for the first time and I'm appalled by the installation done by the delivery people. Anywhere that called for more than 1 bolt they used 1. The bed is supposed to be held together by 18 5/16" bolts, and instead it has 8. 10 are missing! We were their last delivery for the day and they clearly just wanted to get out of there. The bed was against a wall so we never noticed until we had to move it. They took the extra bolts with them and so I called to get a replacement and was told because I didn't have a warranty on the bed I had to pay for them. This is not a warranty request! Pretty clearly! Now I'm out another $30 for the bed I need a step stool to stand on thanks to another problem caused by ashley furniture employees that lands in my lap. I will never, ever, EVER buy another piece of furniture from a company that cares so little about their customers and turns problems caused by their own employees into the problem of the customer, and I strongly recommend you don't either. If you do decide to shop here and they offer you in home installation, turn it down. Even if it's free. Take it from me, you're way better off doing it yourself. read more

Never come back to Ashley Homestore, neither online nor actual store... Don't get fooled by the photo and the description "Upholstered Queen BED" on their website and $350.00 as the price cause this is only a bed frame and you have to spend another $350 or more to get slats +boxspring... I am telling the whole story because this company wasted my time and confused me a lot as they do not provide enough information on their website for their products. I ordered a bed with shorter headboard online. Shortly after I ordered, I called the store in Scarborough and asked them about the bed. The sales person was very unprofessional and said what do you want to know? At the end they said it is a bed not a bed frame... After a week they shipped the other bed which is higher in terms of the height; therefore, they sent a wrong bed. In regards to their FREE SHIPPING, if you live in a condo, it is only going to be delivered at the door of the lobby, not at the door of your apartment because it's FREE! and the 3 delivery guys do not bring it into the elevator so at least have some dolly available at your condo! The customer service is so rude and unhelpful... I called them several times to tell them they made a mistake and they send another bed not the one I ordered online. There was a very rude CARE GUEST which he introduced himself as "Blessing!". He kept saying that the one you ordered is the Higher one and I am wrong! so rude! He did not want to accept that it was their fault not my fault, that there was a problem in their system or in their stupid warehouse! He kept saying that there are enough details about this bed on their website but as everyone sees, except the dimensions, there is nothing! I told him they need to make an exchange very quick or refund some of the purchase price because the bed frame does not come with slats or platform and I have to spend more money and get from another store. He said there is no way they give me money and there are only 2 options: 1- Exchange within 2 weeks 2- return and I have to pay 25% of the purchase price as the return fee. That is unfair and unfrofessional for a big company like Ashley Furniture. I am very very disappointed with this online purchase. If I knew I had to wait 3 weeks to get a bed frame without any slats or platform and I have to go get slats by myslef I would never never got this bed from Ashley! read more

BUYER BEWARE! July 16, 2017: After shopping for several months for a couch, we purchased the Karis sofa from the Barrie showroom. Our salesperson was personable, but was having issues with the computer system. We were not in a hurry, and it was newly opened, so we were patient with the delays. Eventually, everything was ordered; and we were to pick up our sofa August 22nd at the Vaughan showroom as requested by us. We were told this was no problem and it would be ready in 3-4 weeks which seemed to be perfect as we were travelling and did not require it until the end of August. August 22, 2017: After returning from travelling, I rented a U-Haul trailer that would be used to transport the sofa from Vaughan to our new home in London. As there was no further contact from Ashley HomeStore, I was under the impression that our sofa would be available in Vaughan as originally agreed upon. I arrived at the store at 6:30pm to be told the warehouse closed at 5:30pm and there was nothing they could do. I was never told the warehouse hours differed from the store hours. I was then informed that my sofa wasn't even IN the warehouse, and had been delayed until September 15th; a full 8 weeks after purchase. The manager(?) of the Vaughan store (Michelle) was sympathetic and offered free delivery and setup to our home in London on September 15th and that we would be contacted if anything changed. September 11, 2017: Now extremely distrustful of Ashley HomeStore, we called the Guest Care number to confirm we were still getting our couch on September 15th as we had not heard anything further. We were informed that our sofa was now showing an estimated arrival date (to their showroom) of September 16th, one day later than our delivery date. After pressing the representative for answers, we learned that a couch was RE-ORDERED on August 22nd. There is no explanation as to where our couch ordered July 16th is, and it is this second order that is now delayed. We were told that there was a miscommunication between the Barrie and Vaughan store, despite making our delivery arrangements very clear and having the Barrie sales rep (Dannette) agree that this was no problem. We are now expecting a call back on September 13th to verify if they can make the September 15th delivery date. IT HAS BEEN 2 MONTHS! The couch is fully paid for and still not in our home. Completely unacceptable from any retailer. We will never recommend or use this company ever again. read more

Nicole N....I am troubled with what am hearing. So a customer that has received at delivery new furniture damaged should have to wait for it to be repaired? They should automatically receive new. Discussting what I have read. Agree with buyer would be receiving second hand. Your prices are not exactly cheap. Ashley doesn't stand behind their name? Thank goodness my furniture not from Ashley. Will never shop in any Ashley store..EVER!! after hearing this. What ever happened to good customer service, people who work there and care. Regardless of whether you say, can't do anything. Have you ever put into your head to go to bat for your customers?? Everyone should take note. When receiving anything at your door, make sure you indicate the damages on your delivery receipt and/or or if packaged state "Subject to inspection" with your signature. My sister-in-law was in town on a mission to buy a couch set for her living room. Being from Windsor, ON, she felt that the options open to her were not that great, so she trekked down to look around our area. Only criteria from my brother was that it had a recliner...other than that...he could care less what she bought. When we walked in to this store, she discovered the same couch she was looking at in Windsor....although a bit more expensive here (even after the discount from the sale). The salesman who approached us stated that it's probably not an Ashley set (in Windsor), but a "cheap knock-off". She had never heard of Ashley Furniture so knew nothing of their reputation. We continued to walk through the store and into the leather section. She fell in love with a fairly large couch that had a recliner on one end and a chaise on the other (which turned out to recline as well). She was in heaven. As displayed, it was just over $3000...but their sale was 40% off the most expensive item, then 25% off each additional item. As it was a "sectional" couch...the salesman explained that he could split the couch apart (as it was 3 sections). So the chaise part was the most expensive...so that was discounted 40%, then the other 2 pieces were discounted an additional 25%....so her couch set came in at just over $2000. She was thrilled. I don't remember the name of the salesman who walked with us through the store, but he was not pushy and priced various pieces out for my sister-in-law whenever she asked for a price of something. He was great. She ended up buying the leather set and it will arrive to the store in a few weeks. She'll have to return to pick it up as there is no Ashley store in her home town. read more

Do not buy anything from here. I purchased a bed/sofa from this store five years ago. The bed has gotten stuck halfway out, so I called them about having someone come out to help fix it off warranty. They never called back, so I visited them in store. The two Customer Service reps looked completely confused as to what to do. 20 minutes later they told me someone would call me about how to proceed. The next day I received a call telling me that an appointment for a technician was open in two weeks and that they needed payment now. The appointment is to inspect the sofa/bed not necessarily fix it. What am I supposed to do with a sofa I can't sit on or a bed caught halfway out for two weeks? They clearly have no interest in post sales service. Avoid like the plague. read more

Do not go there to "buy" anything (I can only comment re the store in Richmond Hill). Staff are extremely unprofessional and unknowledgable, do not know how to use the online order system - took 45 minutes to input an order for a dining room set, needed the resources of 3 staff members to input the "order". They mislead as to stock availability and delivery dates i.e in stock we will deliver in 2 days, then call the day before- sorry not in stock will be available in 3 weeks, then subsequently call 2 days later to advise that the product is discontinued. In the interim they advise you will lose your deposit if you do not find an alternate dining table. Worst experience ever. Lie upon lie from the store and customer service in Winnipeg. read more

I purchased a beautiful dining room set from Ashley's. Upon it being delivered I noticed that the varnish on top of the table was uneven and some of the varnish was also chipping off the edges! I immediately called customer service to which they said they would send a technician to inspect. The "technician" scoped out the table and took out a grease pen to fill in the imperfections the table came with... I get a call from customer support asking how my experience was. I told them I was unsatisfied; they didn't really seem to care. I figured at least I got one problem solved, and decided to leave it be. Fast-forward a few months and the fill-in job that was done from Ashley's is starting to fade and look horrible again... I call email and call multiple times until I final speak to a higher up who informs me that since I did not purchase an extended warranty there is nothing they can do. I am very frustrated at this point as this is the condition the table was originally supplied to me and I should have been given a new table right from the beginning! He says he will offer a refinishing of the whole table but we have to deliver and pick up from the warehouse (a 45 min drive each way). No problem, I think as long as this will solve the issue. A week passes and I get a call on Friday to come pick up the table. We show up on Saturday (1 hour and a half total drive time) and are told no, the table is not ready that there was an error on their part and they had to sand down and refinish the whole table a second time that day and it would not be ready to come home, but we can pick up on Sunday. So we show up on Sunday and discover that now the top of the table varnish is even, but there are still now uneven varnish patched at the edges of the table and still some minor chips. I refused to take it home, but the technician assured us there was nothing else he could do and we should contact customer support for a new table. We take the table home (realize that's some hardware to put the table back together is now missing) and contact customer service; I sent them photos and everything. I get a call from customer service again saying that the table was in perfect condition before we took it home (and that they actually refinished it 3 times due to problems on THEIR end) and the woman who is in charge signed off her self before we left. That day the person we dealt with took us into the warehouse and there were no women to be seen, we did not deal with any woman... this is when I started to get really upset. Not only did they do a half-ass job of fixing out table, but I also get accused of lying? So after much convincing, I get them to agree to take the table back and finish it properly. They deliver it back to us a week later, which was yesterday with the same varnish inconsistency issues as last time. This has been ongoing now for too long and we still are unhappy with our table. I am very disappointed as this was not a cheap purchase, it is hardwood, and a beautiful design, however, they have not rectified the issue and keep supplying us with sloppy work, shaving down our table top and not providing us with the proper care we deserve. I have another family member who purchased a dining set from Ashley's recently and was delivered chairs with unfinished varnish on one side! I think it's safe to say this is an ongoing issue. I am tired of dealing with them and am very upset with the product they have returned to us, which should not have passed through quality assurance each time. I would not recommend. read more

Do not buy anything from this or any other Ashley store. I ordered a bedroom set and the bed broke (The actual wood cracked then broke) the first time my husband (not a large man) sat on it. The delivery/set up guys had not even left our street and we were sitting on the floor. I have spent the last 10 days trying to resolve the issue. I even accepted an exchange instead of total refund but they didn't want to refund the balance between the broken set and the replacement set. They won't even tell me what the replacement set costs even though I've asked at least 4 times.They are literally trying to force us to take new pieces that they haven't even provided pricing to us for. We have been trying to work through their customer care department but they are set up to not let you speak to the same person more than once never mind a manager. Everytime I call, I just get even more frustrated. They do not follow up on anything they say and the story of what they are prepared to do changes with each call. We ordered other furniture at the same time that we are not disputing but they are not happy just getting part of a sale. We tried to cancel the night stands that we haven't officially ordered or even been given pricing for because they told us they wouldn't be in until April even though the website says they come in Feb. They said you can cancel but only get store credit even though we have not finalized the exchange order. They have agreed to refund a portion but only after me calling a dozen times and them telling me "No". I am going to submit a complaint to the better business bureau and file a small claims court claim. What kind of store will not tell you how much replacement pieces cost then try to force you to take it. They keep saying things like "It's our policy" but won't accept my policy that I expect to be able to sit on a brand new bed. They say it's because the bed was a floor model but the bed wasn't set up on the floor so we couldn't actually sit on it.
