We ordered 4 bedroom sets for our new house. 3 were delivered and everything was perfect. However, the 4th set the mattress showed it was in stock and it wasn't and the dresser was damaged in transit. All fine at first. However, now I am having trouble getting a date of when I will actually receive the items. I get transferred from person to person all who say something different and push it back to each different department. So now I have one child without a bed and without a dresser and NO IDEA when it will be here because each week (YES THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON MULTIPLE WEEKS) we are told something different. Ok. I want to share my experience with Ashley furniture outlet on Lapeer rd in flint. I've been researching adjustable bed frames and panicking on getting one set up before my surgery. Online it said they had the one I decided on in stock for 0% interest over 60 months if purchased in store. I applied for there card and went there today and was waited on by a short, skinny black man. He started out by informing me they don't carry the frame I wanted and that the internet did not show it in stock. I told him it said online there was one on display. He said, No it didn't say that. Were a franchise store and serta is not our product so we don't carry it. So I informed him it was on there website for $599 and that's what I want. Him: Well your going to have to order it online. Me: It said I had to purchase in store for financing. He than jumped on his computer and informs me it would be a special order and I'd get it in about a month. I told him won't work I need it in atleast 2 weeks. He tell's me he has a tranquility bed frame in stock for $900 I'll have to take that one. I told him I was going to have to think about it, do some more research and look around. At this point he got crappy with me. Informed me I was not going to find it anywhere else, turned and as he was walking away mumbled something about me bieng cheap and wanting the $599 frame. The salesman named Tony insulted us just because we were looking to buy a bed in the outlet part of the store.

A total rip off. This store, like other Ashley furniture stores and related outlet centers, seems as if it's a scam.. If you want to toss your money away, give yourself a migraine and should you want to enjoy endless aggravation, then by all means, shop here. If not, then avoid it like the plague. We stopped in trying to buy a new mid price spare room mattress and dresser for one of our guest bedrooms. First of all, they have very aggressive 'sales people' who come off like greedy third rate used car dealership salesmen... it's very obnoxious/ they hover, are rude, try to constantly up sell, and do not know their product line well.. I'm pretty certain the store's hiring policy is giving anyone off the street a chance to be a salesperson and their training consists of telling the new staff to 'hard sell' and 'up sell' featuring zero additional training. Customer service is not their bag. The selection was abysmal, the quality is overall low- everything was cheap looking, like it will break if you sit on it too much. The 'clearance' section in back is a joke, very few items marked to realistic levels considering their quality. We had an overly aggressive salesman, who probably was 19-20 and clearly still lived at home and I'm sure this was one of his first jobs, if not the very first. He was rude, condescending, and kept trying to insist he owns the top of the line mattress that costs over $2,000 and wouldn't sleep on anything less.. sure, dude.. (insert sarcasm..) We finally (against better judgment) located a spare room mattress in the clearance section. The sales guy was not pleased. It wasn't his huge sale. He rolled his eyes. We already knew we'd wind up returning it at the checkout desk, which was littered with tons of complaining customers demanding refunds or complaining that orders weren't delivered or about damaged products. The scene was chaotic. The 'cashier' 'accidentally overcharged our debit card $470 dollars, and the sales guy had to tell her to correct it. What the heck?? I noticed it immediately. Personally, I think this is a scam of theirs, and they like to see if people notice and quite frankly, it possibly appears as a higher sale on their sales figures even if it must be refunded, even if almost immediately. Why was the amount a $470 overcharge? No idea. It wasn't a delivery fee, it wasn't the equivalent to what was the original price, any fee or a particular icon on the keyboard/register. She made up some bull**** answer and didn't apologize. It took days for that amount- $470- to be posted back to my bank account! How many times have they temporarily 'accidentally' overcharged someone and either didn't correct it, caused an overdraft on a bank account, or maxed someone's credit card??? They seemed obsessed with signing up customers (whether they wanted to or not) to use their finance plan. It's all very bizarre and, quite frankly, reeked of unethical practices. We tried to get the entire transaction voided or returned at the cash wrap desk- but they refused! They gave us a 'corrected' receipt and said wait for the refunded amount of $470 and it'll appear eventually- a manager nearby said it might be two weeks. They seemed full of themselves and nonplussed. We knew we were demanding a full refund and canceling that order for the mattress the moment we left- which we did. We called as soon as we could in the morning (store was closing shortly after we left). We contacted the store manager and later the regional manager and we told them to not schedule delivery of the mattress (we didn't think it would've shown up on time, either, even if we didn't cancel it). We complained heavily to that Ashley store manager and recited the number of issues, including the $470 overcharge. She merely said that she'd cancel it all right then and offered a full refund and said stop in that day and speak with her and that she could personally refund the transaction/cancel it. We did that and she refunded it in an hour. She was very quiet about it, offered no apology or reasoning, and she seemed overwhelmed fixing other problems, she simply refunded it and said it might take several days to get all of the money back in our checking account since we used a debit card. I watched my online banking like a hawk- both refunds appeared several days afterwards. Do not shop here if you value your time and money and want quality furniture. read more

I bought a chair from him and had it delivered but it just didn't look right in the room so I called him and told him I wanted to return the chair and pay the 20% restocking fee which is fair. He told me that wasn't possible and that I was stuck with the chair. I called the store manager Quinn, and he said that WASNT TRUE AT ALL AND COULDNT BELIEVE JOSH LIED TO ME ABOUT IT. Josh Just didn't want to give up his commission and would do anything to keep his money. AnywaY's, Quinn was more than helpful and made sure my chair was picked up and I paid the restocking fee. Well after our power recliner stopped working we called the store to see what to do. They took my name and set a date for repairs but then they said we were outside their service area ( but not outside to sell to ) so after a bunch of phone calls finally got a date set for tomorrow and guess what, the company they had set up for tomorrow isn't going to be in this area tomorrow so now its rescheduled for Dec 22nd. 10/10 Do NOT recommend! I purchased a couch 2 years ago as well as an additional 5 yr warranty. The finish on the headrests of the couch are now wearing off. I contacted the warranty company "Montage" & they inform me that this is not covered as it isn't accidental damage--unbelievable! They then graciously pushed me off on the store to try and get some resolution. After several conversations with the warranty company and the store they both just point fingers back & forth at each other & refuse to take care of the issue. I was told that the sales manager "Christian" would call me back multiple times and of course that call never came. Now I'm left with lots of wasted time & a couch that looks as if it has been drug down the road by a truck all due to no fault of my own. The best part is that everything has to be ordered. I'm not sure they have anything in stock. All you have to do is read their reviews on Yelp and look them up on YouTube. This has been an awful experience. I purchased two Couches for my living room from here in January and a week after I received them they started wearing terribly and ripping, due to Covid I had to wait until they reopened to get it fixed. I contacted Max the store Manager and he was gracious enough to let us exchange them but we ended up paying $2,000 more for what we got and no discount attached to that. We were told they would be in in July, then when I called we were told August 17th, now we have been told They could be pushed to september and no updates. We ordered a living room and bedroom set at the end of May 2020. It is 8/31/20 and we still only have half of our furniture. The last two times I've called the store no one has answered the phone. I had to drive to the store in order to speak to someone and the customer service person told me "they are not aloud to answer the phone" when they are dealing with another customer. The owner told my wife he was going to cancel our order and still charge us for it! I know at least four people who have had similar experiences. It's a shame that you spend thousands of dollars with a company and they treat you like garbage. We will never spend another dollar with this company again. Absolutely the worst experience when we originally purchased our furniture last October (it took 2 addition trips to the store and 3 extra deliveries to get our order right). And now a year later, our section looks like absolute crap and we are in the market for a new couch. Furniture is WAY over priced and the quality you get is horrible. We went into Ashley's home store on Saturday. The man that was sitting at the podium immediately asked if he could help. He was in no way pushy. His name was Tony and he couldn't have been more professional. When we would look at something he would give us some privacy so we could decide but he seemed to know exactly the time to come back to us. We ended up buying family room furniture,that was what we came for but then also bought living room furniture . The store has quality furniture at reasonable prices. HORRIBLE experience! I was trying to purchase a couch that was out of stock. The salesman was rude and had me waiting for 20 minutes to wait on a couple that was spending much more than I (most likely to gain more commission) When my order was finally placed, I was told it would take 2 months to receive my purchase, being told it would most likely come in earlier. Three months later and no couch, but only pushing the date forward. They can't get their own computer system to work, their customer service is abysmal, and assistant manager Brittany is extremely rude and unhelpful. We ordered tables in late July and they never arrived. They couldn't tell us when they would arrive. Mid October we decided to do an exchange for an in stock item. If I could rate zero stars I would. My husband and I bought a dinning set, bed and base that moves up and down for the bed. We went in the sales guy, was just that a sales man- no big deal we were there to purchase items and knew we would be spending a lot of money. The dinning set was not in stock, but they called us to let us know we would be able to pick it up. We had free delivery with the bed and base because we spent so much. My husband gets there after they told us we would be able to pick it up, after he waited over an hour to get it... he is told that they only one in stock is the display( first red flag). They made things right by saying they will deliver that with our bed and bottom base awesome! Saturday gets around they bring the mattress, base and dinning set. We offer to set up the dinning set because we technically did not pay for the delivery, told the manager so they drivers would not get in trouble. The bed is here with the base and no legs... we had to have it on the floor ( second red flag). They said someone will be out tomorrow for the legs. Another set of drivers come they only bring one set of legs ( we had a dual meaning 2 sets) they were trying to leave the bed lopsided ... I said in case you do not come back we cannot sleep like that just please take it down. They said someone will be out that Same day, another set of drivers come and fix it off the ground... coming to find out one of the sides are broken and the bed will not move up and down. They told us the very first set of drivers should have set this up for us, they did not. They said we might have one, I was waiting thinking they just went to their car. No they left and did not say anything! I call and create my own ticket, as I guess they were supposed to , I am now told this will be viewed in 24-48 hours. This could have went out even longer if I had not taken matters into my own hands. I stay on the phone with the store manager ( or who claimed to be) MOE! He asked me, a 4'9 girl to lift up the bed take pictures of the bed and explain what was going on. This should have been done by the last set of people that came out. I explained to him I am not able to do that, he said okay no worries. We set up a time for them to come back to my house and fix the side that does not work, no problem. He lets me know they would come this morning between 8AM-8:30AM even confirms with a text... no one came in the morning... I call and speak with a million different call center reps who are trying their best to help. Someone finally comes out in the afternoon The last guy to come out finally explains the issue is because we received the wrong bed.... Out of all these people that came out how was he the only one to notice!? I go into the store to try and resolve this , the salesman who sold me the items is sitting down on a couch I explain the situation... he tells me to go to the store manager ... the store manager tells me that is not him and he will go get the person I had asked for 30 min later he comes back saying MOE the guy I had been dealing with is off today for a religious holiday, which I already knew because as I said before I have been dealing with them for a few days at this point. I ordered furniture in January with the plan to have it paid off by February. I was told that it wouldn't be ready until April. So I called to schedule a delivery in March and was told it wouldn't be ready till May. and as you stated No one bothered to call me and gave me the information that these dates had changed. I had to call the last three times without a resolution or a call back. I even offered a solution to give me a floor model or even find me something comparable to my purchase that is instock and my salesperson Ronnie still has not called me back and it's been a week now. The bed that we purchased has a major issue. The front rail has two of the same brackets on it. One was put on upside down. Both are facing the same direction. Picture attached. I would say overall this has been a very frustrating experience. Thursday my husband received a call saying that our desk and bed would be delivered in a few hours that day. We had no warning that it was ahead of schedule. My husband said that we could not accommodate taking the furniture that day. We had to get rid of the furniture already in the room. The delivery driver was very rude. We asked for either weekend delivery or for the following week as both my husband and I work and weren't able to move the furniture out that quickly. They showed up Friday with a 20 minute warning and left the bed, the drawer for it, the mattress and desk in my living room. This was supposed to be a surprise, showing up unannounced ruined that. And then we had to put this together ourselves which we were told was included with delivery. Only to find out it was incorrectly prepared for packaging. We have furnished 2 rooms so far with your company in the short time that it has been located in flint. Please make this right. We were planning on redoing our master bedroom and dining room soon but at this rate we will likely have to find another company to use. We need this taken care of ASAP as now my daughter doesn't have a bed to sleep in. This has been a surprise turned into a nightmare. read more

On August 27, 2022 I was sitting outside of Ashley's Furniture on Linden Rd in Flint, MI. I had just grabbed me some lunch and was parked in a parking spot finishing up my food with plans to come in to Ashley's and look around and possibly purchase some furniture for my daughter's room if I saw anything that I liked. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT I WAS PARKED THE ENTIRE TIME. I noticed two men had walked out of the store dressed in business attire and got into a Black Dodge Ram that was parked on the left side of me. Not thinking anything of it, I continued to enjoy the rest of my lunch so that I could get out and start shopping. As I'm sitting there, parked, the Dodge ram practically drove up the front driver side of my car. I panicked and started blowing my horn hysterically and started screaming. The truck did NOT stop. I had to reverse my car for the truck to stop ramming into mine. Once I did that, i immediately got out of my car and so did the two men. One of the men asked me was I trying to pull out of the parking spot, and I told him no, I was sitting here parked eating my food and you just hit my car that was not even moving smh. I was upset! How in the hell do you hit my car while it's parked and not moving? I was in between the lines and everything. He apologized and told me that he wasn't paying attention and also let me know that his name was Max Awad and that he was the owner of this Ashley's location and the location that is on Lapeer road and that he would pay cash for all damages. I still asked for his insurance information, and he gave it to me and I took a picture. The second young man that was in the car with him, was Anan, and apparently he is a manager or holds a high position at this location, he said we shouldn't get insurance involved and to avoid having to pay high deductibles, Max would pay for all damages cash once I took it somewhere to get looked at, and he gave me their phone numbers on a business card. There was also another guy that came over to the scene, he works for Max, and he also took my number and said he would give me a text with the information of where to take my car. After going back and forth for sometime Max and Anan left. I immediately called my dad and he advised me to call the police department even though Max offered to pay for the damages in cash. I called the police department and went to Flint Township and filed a police report. The next day (August 28th) I texted Max to follow up and see how we were going to handle things and he said since a police report was filed, he had contacted his insurance. I had called his insurance company to file a claim because the accident was not my fault. I was parked. However, Max lied to his insurance company (State Farm) and said I was trying to pull out of the parking spot and that's why we collided! All lies!!! There was a young woman eating lunch in her car that came over to me after the incident and asked if I was ok, she had saw the entire incident and was a manager at Ashley's. I even provided her information to his insurance company as a witness and they never contacted her, smh. If that was the case, then why did he offer to pay for damages with his own money??? I had to file a claim with my insurance company, which they will cover the damages but this is absolute bullshit! I didn't cause the accident and now I have to come out of money. I have to pay a $500 deductible and pay for a rental car while my car is in the shop. This occurred in August, my appointment to take my car to the body shop is November 15th... so I've had to drive around in a damaged looking car all these months. I am a single mother and now I have to come out of all this money for something that was not my fault. I will NEVER step foot in Ashley's again and I have told all my family and friends how the owner Max Awad has treated this situation and how he lied and they refuse to do business with this store. I will continue to tell people not to shop at Ashley's (especially this location). I even called and tried to get the security footage of that day and of course I was given the run around so they could protect him, the footage would have shown that I was parked and he hit me... and now I'm left to pay for it. My husband and I bought a couch in July. We were told the end of the month for pickup. When August rolled around, I hadn't heard from them, so I called. Our pickup date was pushed back a couple weeks. I again had to call to find out we couldn't pick it up then either. We had to keep calling, with no answer, and ended up going to the store to get yet another date for pickup. We were gonna cancel the couch but found out for a week it was on the way. They refused to give any discounts as a courtesy offer anything. I understand covid has hit everyone hard, but in customer service, communication is key. The absolute worst retail experience I've ever witnessed. The store owner is racist, sexist, rude, disrespectful and LAUGHED at the suggestion the Better Business Bureau would be contacted. Furniture ordered and BILLED in May has still not been delivered. Numerous delivery dates have been promised but they were no-shows. Customer Service claims to be too busy to answer the phone, requiring a store visit just to make contact and get information. This doesn't even take into account their furniture is manufactured in China and is about as cheap as you can get. Save your money, shop anywhere else. read more

We purchased a bedroom set in February. We were told it would be 4-6 weeks. We never receive any updates. I call in April and I am told that it's looking like June(ish). I call back in June and they let me know that 3of4 pieces are in the warehouse, 1of2 nightstands on backorder till October. We setup delivery for the in stock items. Order arrives: 1 wrong piece (chest) and 1 damaged piece(nightstand). At this point we are over the whole situation and want to return and get our money back. Go to the store and deal with a rude and condescending customer service rep. She doesn't listen to what we are telling her. She does nothing to help solve the situation and make it better. So we drive to Burton where the Flint store manager, Anon, is on that day. We talk to Anon. He listens and shows understanding of our displeasure. Anon assures is he will make this situation right if we give him a chance, but offers a full refund. Tells us he has two nightstands (the damaged piece was the 1 nightstand that arrived) at a different location and will have them shipped out immediately. We accept Anons offer to make it right and take him at his word. It is now mid-October. Anon will NOT return our calls or texts and Ashley warehouse tells us that our nightstands are projected to arrive sometime in February of 2022. I am disgusted with the manner in which we have been handled. I warn anyone to avoid dealing with Ashley Furniture! read more
