They have good selections but it is worse than a car dealership as far as the rep following you around the store. We told her several times that we didn't need help. She persisted. Then after we made our selections the pressure to purchase their protection insurance was insane. We said, "No thanks." She came back and said, "Oh, our manager is willing to sell it to you at a much lower price." That frustrated me. I said no again and had to say, "And that's final." Ashley Furniture - Defective $4000 Purchase & Unacceptable Service I purchased $4000 of Ashley Furniture that's only 3 months old, and I'm extremely disappointed. The bed frame has bent support beams and broken legs that cause dangerous sagging, with chipped, scuffed rails. I ordered two USB‑C nightstands but received one USB‑C and one USB‑A--the USB‑A has a broken marble corner, and the USB‑C has a crushed back panel with chipped legs. The dresser without mirror is coming apart at the seams, and the dresser with mirror has malfunctioning drawers and a paint defect. When I contacted customer service, I was told no warranty applies because the items were on sale. I gave them until the end of today to correct their stance, but received no response. Legally, under the Uniform Commercial Code (as supported by Henningsen v. Bloomfield Motors, 32 N.J. 358, 1960) and the Magnuson‑Moss Warranty Act, products must be fit for their intended purpose. The defective furniture clearly violates the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Additionally, their refusal to honor warranty claims breaches protections under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act and FTC guidelines. For a $4000 investment from a company once known for excellence, this is completely unacceptable. Potential buyers, please beware. Update: VP of Operations LuLu Marks essentially gave us the big middle finger. Their message is clear: "We got your money, go bug someone else." Now, they're claiming that because they offered a discount, the furniture doesn't come with a warranty--something they never disclosed upfront. Had we known that, we never would have bought it. On top of that, the furniture doesn't even meet basic standards and is a safety hazard. While they offered some replacement components, that doesn't fix the full issue--and to make matters worse, they won't even provide the labor to fix it. The furniture was ordered and delivered, but after seeing it and using for a day or two, I wanted to return. No returns accepted. Unreal. The 2 men that attempted to deliver my furniture the first time was really lazy and unable to lift/pick up the furniture to get it in the door. I had to tell them how to adjust the couch to get it in the door. One of the men was so small and skinny he was unable to lift it. And the other guy got upset that I asked to take the furniture apart to get it to fit. He claimed it didn't come apart. I told them to take the furniture back! Halle helped me when I went in and she was super helpful and explained everything perfectly. I needed a bed and a couch really quickly (was shopping Saturday and moving in that Monday). Everything was delivered the Wednesday after I moved in. She walked me through the store showing me things she thought I might like and was super patient. We found the perfect stuff and then she went over pricing with me and walked me through the delivery process. My furniture came and the delivery men were incredible. They were super nice and worked fast. Cleaned up after themselves and were in and out in about an hour. I was given 2 pillows and a mattress cover for free for purchasing a bed and box spring with a bed frame. The pillows are incredible. I'm a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator and the guys were super nice about it. They texted me the 3 hour window a day in advance and the day of delivery I got another message saying when they were 30 minutes away. At the exact 30 minute mark I got a knock on the door. I ordered an ottoman and a night stand that will take a few weeks to get here but I feel like that's not a huge deal considering I don't have to assemble or carry anything up. If it's damaged they can take it off and have it replaced. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the wait time being 8-12 weeks. Terrible experience. Absolutely terrible. I came in for a simple purchase of a box spring for my mattress. It should have been in and out. They came up to the counter to ring me up and the sales guy throws a fancy purple pillow on the counter and says, "Guess what, I'm gonna throw this in on your order today as a gift." The bill came out to be almost $400.00. When I looked at the paperwork they had charged me $170.00 for the pillow. The online advertised price for the box spring was $250.00. We came home did some research and found that Ashley advertises price-matching Amazon. We wanted to support the local store and employees so we went back to purchase. It was then explained to us that they have the option to price match and they do not choose to. We left came home and ordered from Amazon in less than 5 minutes, with no sales pitch, and will be delivered free of charge. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a bedroom set from here on 12/3 and was told by the salesman it would take 3 weeks. He said that they normally quote 3-5 weeks but they always have that particular bed in stock so it should be closer to 3. 3 weeks go by and I call, and they tell me a date, that date comes and still no word so I call again and they give me another date. This happens two more times. Finally 6.5 weeks later they schedule delivery. The delivery man breaks the bed on transport and doesn't leave my dresser or anything, he just says he can't give it to us and takes it back. Then today I went back to this store to speak with a manager to kindly ask that I get a replacement in a week or I'd like a full refund. She was the rudest person I have EVER encountered as a manager in customer service. She said "not gonna happen" then told me I would get 10% taken off and they were going to charge me a delivery fee for furniture I did not get because they went "all the way to my house". She was 0 help, offered 0 resolutions or any consolation for what I had been through dealing with them. She didn't even offer me an apology. I was infuriated. I called the customer care line and that lady was so kind and helped me. She said that I would absolutely get a full refund if she could not get the bed to me in a week and helped me file a complaint on the manager for her extremely unprofessional attitude which she said she would take straight to the VP. If you expect customer service then Ashley Furniture is not the place for you. If you haven't been furniture shopping for awhile, you are in for quite a surprise. There is very little supply and ordering can take 4-6 months.  My MIL recently moved to Huntsville. We convinced her to leave her old furniture in Pennsylvania as she deserves new, pretty things. We looked at several local furniture stores and didn't see anything she really liked that was in stock. She had an appointment on Bob Wallace so we decided to stop at Ashley to see what we could find.  I guess "find" is the operative word here - we walked around the store almost half an hour before we found someone to help us. We weren't the only customers looking for help either. Once I finally found someone to help us, we finally had success in our quest for furniture.  Our salesman was able to tell us what pieces were immediately available in the warehouse. From there, we decided on a couch and bedroom set. We paid and set up delivery for that Friday - great since my MIL had been sitting on lawn furniture and sleeping with her mattress and box springs on the floor.  While I was given a range of times for delivery, I was supposed to receive a call when the delivery truck was actually on its way. This didn't happen - luckily I was at the house waiting with her when they showed up. The problems with Ashley continued.  I looked on the truck and there was no bedroom set. The delivery men were no help as one spoke no English and the second very little English. I tried calling the store - I let the phone ring over and over, I tried a second time with the same results - no one answered. I had the cell number of our salesman so I called him. He was off but said he's email the manager and she'd get right back to me. Nope, didn't happen.  Now the kicker, while the delivery men were there, I received a call from customer service requesting that I take a survey on my delivery. I told her what happened and she said she would immediately walk a help ticket across the room and her supervisor would call me right back. Once again, nope. Silence.  Finally that evening, I called the store and someone answered the phone. She rescheduled the delivery of the bedroom set for the following Tuesday. This delivery was fraught with its own problems.  I did receive a message that the truck was on its way - when they were ten minutes out. At least I was notified this time. The furniture was in the truck but my husband noticed that the packing foam in the box was broken into pieces and there were little styrofoam balls stuck to everything. He pulled out the vacuum and cleaned off the furniture and even the truck, as the delivery men watched, so it wouldn't be tracked all over the house. Finally the furniture was brought into the house and assembly of the bed was started. The delivery man was struggling trying to get it together. My husband, Mr Fixit, looked at the instructions and the guy was doing it backwards. Who knows how long he would have kept going without intervention. At that point, my husband found out that both of the delivery men had been working for the company for less than a week. What in the world was the delivery company thinking by sending out two new workers as a team? (What were they thinking when they sent out two workers who between the two of them couldn't communicate in English?). In this case, the responsibility lies directly on the delivery company.  My MIL really likes her new furniture and that's all that counts at the end but wow what a journey to get to that end. read more

I noticed some damage and was assured by delivery drivers that there was no need to have furniture put back on truck They took pictures and said would have someone from Ashley Cares call on Monday and damage would be fixed promptly My mistake to trust that. I strongly recommend against shopping at this establishment. I say so primarily because of the management.  I recently spent thousands of dollars at this place.  But you wouldn't know it from the way the managers treated me. Their retail culture--aimed at squeezing every penny out of each customer--clearly does not value the notion of customer service. Which, ironically, will hurt their bottom line in this case because I won't be returning to give them another dime. No calls back.  Marking up prices literally during conversations about certain products.  And no effort to try to remedy the situation when problems arose.  Only a bad attitude and a refusal to speak with the customer because the manager was "busy."  In addition, they sent some incorrect items upon delivery. Because of the explosive population growth in this area, this store's management probably can get away with this lazy, unprofessional approach simply because of the demand in the market--at least for now.  But it's no way to run a business, and they certainly have lost a lot of future business from me as a result. Although some of the staff demonstrated flashes of competence and sincerity during the purchasing process, the management made the buying experience largely unsatisfactory and unpleasant. The last part was delivered today, January 4, 2021. I learned today that I am not valued as a Customer, I cannot read, and lack understanding, according to their Customer service and scheduling employees. Your website is very misleading and very deceptive. As a Consumer, if I purchase a product and it states Assembly and delivery setup January 4, 2021, then I expect those words to mean exactly that. I am an average size person and have treated the furniture gently. It has never been moved. Fortunately, I bought the protection plan, or so I thought. While our sales rep was great, delivery has been an awful experience. Our dining set came on June 15th. One chair out of six was damaged upon delivery, so they (the delivery workers) said they'd bring a new one and I should receive a call. I never got a call and had to sit on hold to get in contact about a replacement chair. Then, they said it would be delivered on the 24th. Fine. Delivery was supposed to be before 2 and we had called when we still hadn't had anyone show up and we were informed we were "the next stop." However, we sat around all day waiting and no one ever came. The NEXT morning, someone called to inform us the truck had been "loaded backwards" and it caused issues so we would have to wait until today, the 29th. Today it was supposed to be here between 12-3pm. It's currently 4:40 and no one has been here. They emailed at 3:56pm after we've both been stuck at home waiting for this delivery and said that our chair wasn't loaded onto the truck. I do not know if I'll ever receive this chair, but I do know I will never order from this store again. Update: they literally never brought it. The management of the store and its region is bad. They have problems with things as simple as an answering service (they don't pick up the phone when you call). The accounting department can't figure out what to bill you for and the shipping department is slow and unresponsive. That said, the employees are knowledgeable and friendly. The furniture/selection is decent. It's just a problem of following through with getting your items delivered, keeping the customer informed, and properly billing them. They want to nickel and dime you for everything. My sectional is less than a year old and the fabric is unraveling and collapsing, but they want to charge me because we moved. Do not buy furniture here!! We bought an entire bedroom set and regret it. Half of it was delivered broken or with large missing pieces. We sent a claim on Sept 24 and never heard back. Then, 3 days after delivery, the bed broke. Turns out the delivery/installation guys didn't install any supports at the foot of the bed. We ordered over $5,000.00 in furniture three weeks ago with the promise that our base and mattress would be delivered by March 1. On March 1 we had not received a call and touched base without salesman and the manager. We were told the base was in but the mattress was not. The manager told us she would do right by us and call us back. We received no call back. On March 5 we called delivery to "cut out the middle man" and hopefully bridge the lack of communication. Delivery told us they had the mattress and base but couldn't schedule delivery until March 7 (we are still without a bed at this point). We touched base with delivery March 7 and were told the mattress was in but the base was not! This isn't even referencing the rest of the furniture we ordered and were to have delivered. This is only the part that was a necessity for my husband and I and that detail was made clear when we made the order. We can't get anyone to answer the phone. We can't get transferred without being hung up on. The people we do talk to just keep saying they are sorry with no solution to our problem. Save yourself a headache and spend more if you have to. This company promised the product I purchased would be in store by the end of September. We told the guy who sold it to us that was longer than we were wanting and we would search elsewhere he said everywhere will be the same and he has worked there for years and the computer is always right it will be the end of September. We called to check (its the end of September) and now they said it wouldn't be delivered to the store until the end of October. Covid messed with delivery so I understand but I do not want to wait multiple months for a couch so I said I would simply like to cancel. The "restock" fee I was explained in the store is now being called a "cancellation" fee. They are charging almost $200 to restock a product they dont even have. I purchased several items from Ashley after moving to Alabama at the end of April, and have had a very mixed experience. My husband and I walked in looking for a dining set and couch and ended up purchasing the floor model that was being clearanced out. We had to pick it up from the store and dealt with Robert who was awesome (thanks again Robert). If I had been going on that experience alone I would have left a 5 star review all the way. During the same visit I purchased a 7 piece dining room set. We ordered and scheduled delivery for later the same week. On the day of delivery I get a call saying "we don't deliver on mondays, we will have to reschedule." I called the number to try to reschedule but could not reach anyone. A few days later I was able to reach someone and was told that my delivery would be in at least two weeks, because something had happened to one of the chairs in the set. I asked for a delivery date and was told they had no idea but at least two weeks. I called and tried to speak to a supervisor or manager and was hung up on several times. Finally I found my way to Angela who got me a delivery date of the 18th. The night of the 17th I got a text that said something was wrong with my order and to call a number. I tried to call but no one answered. On delivery day I called to find out what was wrong. I was given no information and told my item would not be delivered. I asked to speak to a supervisor was told no supervisors were available and they would have one call me back. I said I'd wait on the line, and the woman hung up on me. I called customer service and asked for Angela, told her what had happened and she said that exactly like the previous time a chair had been damaged and they would need to reorder the set. No time frame for delivery. It made me wonder is the furniture that frail that it gets damaged that easily before even being delivered, twice? Or are the people handling it throwing it around? So I'm 1 month in waiting for my furniture, no expectation of delivery time frame, and no clue why this keeps happening. The following is the email U sent to Ashley corporate and details my experience: I purchased my furniture in November 2020, at the Ashley Homestore in Huntsville, AL. I knew that there would be a longer than usual delay and I was extremely patient. I waited until May 2021 before I personally went back to the Ashley store in Huntsville and inquired about the status of my furniture. I find it EXTREMELY poor customer service and HORRIBLE business practice to have heard nothing about the status of my furniture for 7 months! I was told when I went to the store in May 2021, that it would be at least another 12 weeks before my furniture would be in. I would have NEVER known this had I not asked, ashley sure did not tell me. I had to choose another set of furniture that I was informed would be in during June. My furniture delivery is scheduled for 6/15/21, however I was informed last week by delivery that my furniture may not be delivered because I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment building with no elevator. I had not been told this was the policy by anyone at Ashley. I have now been waiting 8 months for my furniture and am now being told it may not be able to be delivered, rest assured if it is not I will demand a full refund snd Ashley can keep the damn furniture. My customer experience has been an insult and I will never purchase anything from Ashley and will encourage those I know not to either. I was given NO discount or anything for my inconvenience and disruption this has caused to my life.  Update: my furniture delivery that was scheduled for June 16, well the furniture was not delivered. I have no idea where the furniture is nor was I contacted and informed it would not be delivered. I am going to bed at now and will not answer the phone or door and receive any delivery. This is BS and I am done. Horrible experience. After you pay, they forget about you. we had to contact another company to find out where our furniture where. We waited about a month for our furniture to arrived and the guys from the truck rental company broke the dresser. We call Ashley's and they really don't give a damn. I bought a sofa from Ashley Furniture in Huntsville Alabama in March,2016. The thread on the arm started unravelling. I contacted customer service to be told that the management team had decided that this was caused by me. I was also told that I had put the couch in a high traffic area. I talked to a customer service representative and his manager only to be left with a message on voicemail that my warranty was null and void. No technician came to my house to assess this situation. But I was told that they could give me the names of technicians that I could pay for. Let me get to the bottom line, I am 65 years old and did not make the threads unravel. I have other furniture pieces to purchase and it will not be at Ashley furniture. read more
