What started out as a good experience has since went down hill. We purchased a couch, loveseat & over sized chair that was suppose to be the best if you have animals. We have a little 10 pound dog that likes to sit on top of the couch and look out the window. While she was jumping up to the top left marks on the "leather". I reached out to the warranty that put me in contact with someone who basically ghosted me. Out of frustration I went directly to the Johnstown, Pa store and spoke to Ben the then manager. I showed Ben my pictures and explained my problem. Ben ended up ordering the replacement parts without charge to us. Ben put me in contact with the in house repairman first initial R. The repairman man first initial R came to our house (off the books) and replaced the seat top portions but could not do the arm rests because the side panel wasn't ordered. Repairman man first Initial R said he'd order the parts and come back and finish the repair. I paid repairman first initial R $100. Roughly two weeks pasted and I reached out to repairman first initial R to see the status on the parts. I was given an excuse that Ben is no longer the manager and new manager doesn't like him BUT he'll order the parts for me. I reached out to repairman first initial R that the parts are in and we scheduled and date for him to come and complete the repair. Repairman first initial R called and said he had a hit and run into his car and he had to cancel. When I reached out two days later to get rescheduled we had another date scheduled. I was told that the repair may not be able to be completed because of the inability to get "black clips". This excuse is very suspect. Repairman first initial R DID NOT show and now repairman first initial R has since ghosted me. I've texted him twice and still have not received a response. Please avoid Ashley Furniture. If Ashley Furniture can not get their WHOLE team on the same page of customer satisfaction you'll end up being a disappointed customer. You'll walk away paying a couple thousand dollars with a half completed repair that you paid for off the books. read more

Trish, the store manager, did a fantastic job with everything and is really trying to assist us. However, the company that owns all the Ashley furniture stores in pa. Is named Wellersville, I bought a Beauty rest black bed from Ashley furniture and base. Base roughly $3500 and mattress about $3800. Of course, we were rediculously overcharged. The bed has begun wearing and in places is at least 2 to 4 inches below a string line. The bed is susposed to hold its firmness and form for at least ten years. Well, I called Ashley furniture at least 20 times and was told the 10-year warranty was only good if you don't tear off the tags. WTF??? This bed has huge depressions in the mattress, which is a manufactures defect. The tag says if you're the purchaser, you can remove the tags. I thought I just paid $7,500.00 for a bed.. My kids tore off the tags I find out, but the necessary numbers are luckily still there. Ashley furniture warranty dpt. told me we won't honor the warranty even though the bed is 2 years old. Do not buy from Ashley furniture as soon as you have problems with the product regardless if you have a warranty or not, you will not get your product fixed or replaced. I. Never thought after all the products we bought here that they would rip us off. It is truly a disgusting company. If you google wellersville, you will see what a nasty disgrace of a company they are. If you need furniture in Johnstown,go to Park or anywhere else. Ashley warranty dpt will treat you like you're beneath them. I went to Ashley furniture looking for new family room furniture. When we walked in there were 3 employees sitting up front on their phones. One did smile and greet us but you could tell they had no interest in selling anything to us. We walked around the store an nobody followed up with us so we left. I bought an Ashley recliner 2 years ago at Wolf furniture. I love this chair and was very comfortable. The power leg rest stopped working. Of course my extended warranty is no longer valid because Wolf went out of business. I called Ashley corporate office to see if they have repairmen they could send out and I would pay. They do not they said it's handled at the store. I called the store and they will not come because I didn't purchase there. They gave me a number but it's a FL company and I'm in PA. They were very difficult. I paid 1200 for a chair that didn't last 2 years and an extended warranty that is useless. I will never buy Ashley products again. I really wish we still had local furniture stores near me but the big box ins put them out of business. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Purchased a king sized bed frame and one the first night it broke. Took them two weeks to send replacement parts and an additional month to install. That's a long time sleeping on the couch! A week after the install the other side of the bed broke the same way it did the first time. Called and requested a return and no go. Not their policy! A $800 bed and it's destroyed after only a month and they aren't willing to do anything. Crappy product and crappy service. Never again! read more

This is quite the huge location with many items to look over. Even though the size of this place may give you the illusion that you will be able to find exactly what you want. However, what you will find is an overbearing staff that follow you around and give you no space to just browse. I understand that you probably work for commission but give me space to at least look. I also got the impression that the staff talked down to you. The way they spoke to my niece was exactly the way they spoke to me. I'm not a small child, I can comprehend larger words. After that experience, I doubt I will buy any type of furniture from this store. I have been told by many people that have bought this brand that it does not last for long. I have not experienced that yet myself, but I don't want to go down that road. read more

We bought a furniture set paid for the warranty and our loveseat broke and the guys destroyed out chair and were to replace and never did called the warranty place and never got service for over 5 months then got scheduled for may 18 and no one showed called and was told itd be another 3 weeks till i get service and no one was able to help. read more

I purchased a dresser a week or so ago. That experience was fine, but this review is on the delivery. I had planned for delivery today and didnt schedule work hours as I figured they could show up any time. Well, 7 am I got a call they'd be here in 30. We had gotten a storm last night. My long driveway was a sheet of ice. I prepared for lots of complaining. About 40 minutes later. They arrived. I apologized about the condition of my driveway. They had parked at the bottom. He said no worries. It's just a chest. It was, but a HUGE chest! He had me show him where it was going. Walked down my driveway. The two men carried the dresser up. They joked and talked with me. Both were so nice. Not one single complaint from them. That is so rare these days. I really appreciate their good service and truly hope ashley offers me a follow up survey. read more

This store is a sham! We spent a lot of money on an icomfort mattress, after two years, we literally sink into the mattress in a hole. They state sorry, only can replace if the mattress if it has a 1.5 inch depression when no one is on the mattress. Also bought an expensive couch at the same time. The frame is broken and the seat cushions allow you to sit on the floor!! Even had the protection plan, but guess what, it does NOT cover frame or cushions!! What does it cover???!! Not only was he informative about my purchase, he gave me a great deal I couldn't refuse. He was attentive to what I wanted and had such great manners. This is who you want for your salesperson. First what I am about to say goes for all Ashley Stores so be ready for it if you buy from any store in the country. Some may have better customer service and treat you right then others. Since I bought my furniture years ago new owners have taken over this store in Johnstown so they might treat you better, I just want people to be aware and to carefully look over their furniture when it's delivered. Some delivery men are just terrible and do not give a crap about your furniture, it will come scratched, scuffed and broken. I ordered 2 full bedroom sets years ago and both sets came with scratches and scuffs and the Kitchen table had a broken part. Now this might not all be a delivery men problem, could of happened elsewhere too. There process just isn't careful enough. Oh and don't expect them to just replace stuff you see scratches on. They will insist that a Tech comes out to your house to look at it first. He will come and try and repair it, or use a furniture marker to color in the scratches and try and get you to accept it that way. RIGHT, I spent 4k and you want me to accept damaged goods. My advice to you is if you get damaged goods refuse the delivery or just the item that's damaged and that will force them to get you a new piece instead of having to dick around with the tech coming out so on. If you accept a damaged item expect it to take months before anything is done about it or they agree to replace it. Just be aware of this cause it most likely will happen to you know matter where you live. And be aware that Ashley sells mostly Laminated furniture, which means fake wood, or particle board. Salesmen may tell you "oh yeah it's real wood" they lie to make the sale so do not be fooled. A few things or parts of the furniture may have real wood, but not the whole item. read more

If you could do 0 stars I would. Staff is overbearing and pushy, costumer service is beyond horrible. Ordered multiple pieces and one of them wasn't ready for months! Canceled it promptly and got a call a couple of months later asking if we still wanted that item. Told them we didn't want it and was informed that it would be removed from the bill! It was my understanding that when you cancel something you don't have to pay for it anymore. Ashly furniture is a bunch of crooks from start to finish. While working in the Johnstown area yesterday I decided to stop in your store to look around and I was welcomed by a fine gentleman named Scott Geibig, he had a lot of product knowledge about everything I looked st. Scott was so nice and helpful that I ended up buying a bed base that reclines and a computer desk with a matching hutch and a matching chair. As he was establishing an account for me he showed me a matching tv stand to my selection and I had to buy it. I have not met a salesperson this kind and curtious in years. I will definitely visit this store again and tell all my friends about the excellent person that works in your store. We decided to stop in here to check out furniture for our new apartment and couldn't have had a better experience. We were helped by Scotty G and he couldn't have been better to us. We told him roughly what we were looking for and how much room we had to work with and he was able to show us several options on the floor. We ended up not only getting the coffee table that we wanted, for a great price, but he showed us a great end table that we got to go with it. We will definitely be back in!! read more

The local store is very nice with a large selection. However I will NEVER order from Ashley's again. I ordered a sofa in mid June, only to afterwards be told that it would not be available for home delivery until August. Over a month and a half to get a couch delivered?? I offered to pick it up in store to which they said I can't.... which I'm still not sure why, (maybe to charge me the extra $200 delivery fee?). After multiple calls, I am told the couch can be delivered July 18th. We threw out the old couch to make room for the new one. I never get a phone call with a time, so I call them - the sofa is scheduled for delivery august 3rd and the earliest they can deliver it is July 27!? I have already taken off work and made accomodations for July 18th. They offer $75 off the for inconvenience. $75 off of a $4000 bill... This place has wasted so much of my time and has been extremely inconvenient. read more

I had a new mattress and one of those new adjustable bases delivered. The sale and delivery couldn't have gone any easier and the drivers were as nice as could be and that thing looked like it weighed a ton. My wife and I just had a wonderful experience all around and I know everyone likes to post negative comments on sites but because it was really a great experience and the people in the store were so personable I wanted folks to know in Johnstown, PA they do have great people and gave us great service! Kudos as when we went to even buy the mattress I wouldn't have guessed I would have bought a memory foam one either but after being taken thru them all, the salesperson really did care how we were going to sleep and I'm a believer on these now too-- best night's sleep I had in years. read more

I have purchased furniture from this store before , the in house sales associate are awesome and deserve 5 stars but the manufacture and shipping company part of this place gets a 2. Being a repeat customer I understood the time frame on getting furniture , not the problem. The problem is we bought outdoor furniture, got a confirmed shipping date stating all items within our purchase were at the warehouse ready for shipment and then got a second phone stating that there was an issue and we needed to reschedule. When my husband called to do so they had no idea when they could reschedule. So I got involved. The customer service guy I spoke to explained it perfectly. What had happened was the chairs we order were set back to August within their system by accident but the sectional was still good to go. We said ok send the sectional and we no longer want the chairs. He put it in motion. Some one was suppose to call me today to tell when my items would be coming tomorrow and no one did . So I called and I got a. Uhh oh hmm can I call you back, I need to check into this. Never got a call, so I called at 4:00pm and got yet another rep. She checked into it and not only is she saying I'm getting my sectional but I'm getting one of my chairs as well. Uhh alrighty then. Get it together, peeps!!! I mean yay I'm getting atleast one of my chairs but why is this company so unorganized ? And why didn't the first rep just say are you aware one of your chairs is on back log? Bought not 1 but 2 living room sets that included sofa, love seat and chair that all recline. First one was the Hogan set that had the microfiber literally missing in several places and marks All over the set ! I called within 30 seconds of delivery guys leaving and talked to several different people and was told I could not get a refund since I shouldn't have accepted the set!! My husband and I went back to store and chose a leather set that was thousands more. The set was delivered today and needless to say there were 15 marks on just the chair and 1/4 of sofa , and at that I said I had no desire to look any further and made the call once again and demanded a full refund on both sets! They told me they would get right back to me and an hour later I still had not received a call. The delivery guy got an email saying I could get a refund so again I called and yes I got both sets refunded. So I'm done ! This has been a terrible experience! I have heard from several people that they have had the same experience and I've read reviews that say the same! Shouldn't have to say that you will be getting an attorney to get a refund on on leather set that has tears on it! read more

I recently visited Ashley Homestore. We went in looking for a sofa and came out with a bed. We needed both. We did not buy a sofa because we could not agree on the style as there were many to choose from and our desires are different. More time is needed for the perfect eclectic match. The store has a huge selection of every kind of furniture. Josh Flaherty was our salesman. Right off the bat he told us he was new to Ashley but had experience at another store. Josh was very honest and left us to browse on our own after showing us the layout of the store and where to look for the items we were interested in. We were in the store for at least 3 hours. You can not sit down on a bed and buy it. So..... we spent a good deal of time stretched out on the beds and discussing our perfect fit. At that point Josh was with us constantly to answer all of our questions. If he was unsure he asked his supervisor. He left us periodically but came right back. When the paper work involved Josh we continued to browse and were assisted periodically by other sales persons. There was a good bit of discussion on the price but we were satisfied on the final price. I did not give a 5 star rating as the bed has not arrived yet due to our delivery preferences. As far as I am concerned Josh received an A+ from me. My suggestion to other buyers is to make your intentions known to the sales persons as soon as they approach you. Especially if you want them with you or if you prefer to find them. That informs them of your style of shopping. Voila!!!! As easy as that. Bought a recliner and sofa from them. After owning the recliner for 2 months the frame cracked in half. Called them and they sent out a third party company to fix the recliner. I come home to find a little piece of block glued to on side of the crack. It felt un sturdy so I called them back and they said they would look into it. I receive a call back and they told me the chair was fixed back to showroom standards. Never heard of gluing a block on one side to keep it braced as a show room quality piece. I would think if this was seen in the showroom there would be some major concerns with what they are selling you. Basically they told me the third party company said it was fixed and that is it. I am very dissatisfied that after 2 months I have a glued frame on a very expensive recliner. Very awful quality and customer service and i am not sure why anyone would want to shop at this store. read more
