She seemed friendly and made conversation by asking where we were from, etc. After a minute or two of conversation, my husband asked if he could please use the restroom. The lady said they did not have a public restroom. There wasn't even a place nearby to go and use the restroom elsewhere. Also, we were the only ones in the store so it's not like anyone else would have overheard. My husband and I own and operate a business ourselves so we fully understand not wanting to maintain and clean bathroom facilities for the public's use. However, after being turned away from using the restroom we decided to leave immediately as we certainly weren't going to shop while needing to use the restroom, much less spend money at a store that didn't grant access to a restroom for people about to spend a nice amount of money at their store. No thanks, we'll go elsewhere. What a shame as I had already seen an item for $22.99 that I was going to purchase for sure and I am certain we would have spent quite a bit more because we were really liking what we were seeing. Perhaps this business needs to rethink their "public restroom policy". Looked like great items and good prices but we don't shop where we aren't treated and respected like human beings. Most businesses want their customers to stay and be comfortable but not this one. Even if the lady would have stated that the restroom was for customers only, I would have told her about the $22.99 item I already knew that I wanted. Oh well, we're off to spend our money somewhere else now.

So late summer I started doing the overdue yard-work and maintenance I needed to do. One of the last things I tackled was the river-rock I needed to buy. The area where I have my flowers started getting overgrown by weeds because I had not been replacing the river-rock of the area that slowly erodes over time. I had the weeds removed and now needed to fill the areas. Fall was approaching and I wanted this done before it got too cold. I came by Laymans to get the material I needed. They had all kinds of stone/rock for me to purchase. I had to buy it think 8 buckets of river rock to fill what I needed. I bought them over several trips. The price was reasonable. You need to put down a $3 deposit for the buckets, you get it back when you return, which makes sense. I got my task done in time and can now focus on my next yard task in the fall... leaves... so many leaves I will have to rake/blow... As an aside, I will say Layman's has a huge selection. Come here for whatever you need for the yard. While I was coming, they also had put out tons of pumpkins for fall, huge ones so if you want to decorate for fall, this may be your place. Service is also excellent, the staff is very friendly! Will be coming here in the future!

My previous experiences with hardware stores has been ACE, Home Depot and Lowe's and quite honestly the size of this store dwarfs all those other stores. Just the lighting section alone is at least twice the size of any Home Depot or Lowe's I have ever been to. Moreover, there is a wider selection of items at a Menar's that just lighting, hardware, lumber, and gardening items. Like in larger hardware stores, you will find a major appliances section. What I never expected to find was a grocery section in a hardware store! It's just huge, each time I have been to Menard's I have discovered a new section of the store I have never been to selling more stuff. Just take a look at the pictures I took to get an idea of what they have. The service is also very good. I was looking for some pegboard hooks and other attachments for the pegboards i had in my garage. After wandering the store for so long I needed a guide. One of the employees told me what aisle they were in and then physically walked me there. Super helpful! Since then I have come here several times to buy things I needed for the house. Definitely glad I took the advice of a handyman I hired and gave this place a try!

My daughter went in and just bought a pre made cake instead. When we cut it up to serve it, we found pieces of sliced up plastic inside it. We couldn't serve a single piece for fear of someone getting injured ! I moved to a nearby town back in 2020 and will admit to doing something people from where I come from (Miami, Florida) do. They completely ignore people and the situation and do what they want. See I did not notice a huge line of people waiting to be let in, in small groups at a time into the store. I just boom, walked in and started shopping. Thankfully for me, no one noticed! At least no store employee did. I got the stuff I was looking for, got helped by a store employee even to find them. I was then was reminded by a different store employee to remember to go on my app for coupons and rebates if I was a rewards member, which I had completely forgotten about! That saved me some money! The line to pay for my items was a little long and took me 20 minutes to get thru, but thats rather quick for Black Friday. Then I walked out, and to my chagrin i then noticed the line! Wow!
