Summary: garbage phone and email systems, will fight you every step of the way to get what you paid for. Phone and sales staff are friendly, office and front desk is not, twitter support is hit or miss. Do not buy from this company.
The actual sales experience was fairly smooth, Dave was friendly and helped lower the prices for the bed and nightstands I wanted. As the story unfolded turns out Dave was lying (easy returns/replacements).
I was even able to move my delivery date up, so far so good!
Then the headboard for the bed just...didn't have the screws needed to put it together. There was a gross stain on the fabric of the headboard. One of the posts for the headboard had weird damage on it. The roller on the nightstand drawer popped off and the drawer didn't work.
This is when the nightmare for dealing with their customer service system started.
Just getting a hold of someone was a chore. Their phone system will drop you after being on hold for too long. The only time I was able to actually speak to someone was when their call back system actually worked. This was every time I tried to speak with someone. Automatic emails go out, but no replies to anything I sent happened. I would get an email saying someone would reach out to me for my support ticket and that never happened. The call back system broke at the tail end of my story so I had to use Twitter to get support, even that was hit or miss.
When I did get a hold of someone it sounded like they were trying to help me as best they can, it's the company's support itself that is garbage.
I asked for a replacement on the screws and new headboard over the phone and went to the store to ask for either a replacement or repair with the nightstand. I was told the screws would be delivered and that a technician would be there to fix the nightstand.
I was sent the wrong screws (too small) and the technician had no knowledge of the nightstand. He instead was there to verify the screws. I had been sleeping on my couch for 2 or 3 weeks at this point and agreed to have him put the bed together. He had something close to the screws needed to complete the bed (found this out when disassembling them for the eventual replacement) and then took the extra (wrong) screws with him when he left. He tried to get me to agree that the headboard was no big problem, he also told me to call customer service and ask for the slider/roller for the nightstand
I called again and was only able to get a hold of someone with the call back feature. I was informed I was out of the returns/replacement window but since the screws were wrong they'd have a technician come out to fix the nightstand and inspect the bed, if the technician agreed they would replace the bed parts.
The slider/roller arrives, it looks find. The technician arrives and he had no idea what I was talking about with inspecting the headboard. He fixes the nightstand and does a good job with it. The holes or lining where the slider goes wasn't completed properly.
He then said he would call the office about the replacement as he agreed the stains were gross and that the post could be fixed but I wanted a replacement (they would use the rejection of the repair against me later). Before he left he said Ashley's would call me about it that day and the replacement would be here at the end of the month. They did not call nor did they email me about the replacement headboard.
End of the month rolls around and nothing. No inaccurate deliver timeframe, no replies to my emails asking for an update, nothing. Attempting to call their phone would either drop my call while on hold or the call back service would glitch out. So I went to Twitter to ask for help.
The first few responses were fine, it sounded like I was making progress and was talking to real people. Then I got a message that was very different from the others, no signature at the end like the others, telling me I was out of the luck due to fabric looking used over time (this was supposed to be brand new). When I mentioned the messaging was misleading confusing, since one group are telling me I can expect support and they were telling me to pound sand, they responded that a replacement for my board was coming.
Yesterday a new technician arrived. First words out of his mouth was "I'm here about missing screws...", poor guy took it well after I explained the situation. This company doesn't give their technicians (who are all contractors, not Ashley employees, so be nice please) the full details. He did have the replacement headboard and posts, they were clean and didn't have any stains after very close inspection. He was very effective in delivering everything and I think was also there to put everything together but I already had that covered.
So 2 or 3 months after the initial purchase date, I finally got my bed. I know I'm one of the few lucky ones where their issues have been settled.
I would not recommend buying from this company read more
