If you're considering buying from Ashley Furniture, here's my experience: I purchased a mattress that turned out to be an inch smaller than what was advertised. When I tried to get help, their customer service was a nightmare. They use Package.ai to manage fulfillment, and the only option they give you is texting. But the texting system blocked me, so I couldn't get through. I went to the store and called multiple times. Each time I was told someone would call me back -- but no one ever did. At the store, I even showed them that the text system didn't work, but all they did was tell me to "text" again. No real support, just the runaround. To make matters worse, their sales are "final," so they use that as an excuse not to fix issues. The only way I got any movement was by filing a claim with my credit card company. After that, Ashley finally started calling me -- but only because they wanted to get paid, not to apologize or make things right. Even then, they never once said "sorry" for ignoring me. Bottom line: if you want furniture and you're certain you'll never need customer service, maybe you'll be okay. But if something goes wrong, expect zero support. My review is based on my interaction with a manager named Mike T. I came in about a month ago looking for a power recliner, ended up having to special order one. I need to sleep in the recliner for several weeks PLUS it had to fit in an already tiny, cramped room so I was very specific on my needs. Just a few weeks before my surgery my husband went to pick up the recliner and there was a mistake. I will admit I'm a crier not a yeller, we're all human and make mistakes, but it didn't make me any less anxious about my predicament. I NEED a recliner in the next few weeks and can't wait for a replacement. Mike was so friendly and accommodating, understood why I was so stressed about the situation, and we compromised on something that would work with our situation. I feel like he could have easily gotten defensive, even rude, but never once did he treat me anything but kind. He worked very hard to find a solution and I am very happy. I haven't picked up my new recliner yet, but I'm so happy that I don't have to worry about where I will sleep. Terrible experience. I purchased a full size mattress that I was told included the 90 day guarantee. Less than a week later I called to exchange it and pay for an upgrade to a king size. They then told me that the mattress I purchased is not one of their mattresses that has the 90 day guarantee and I could not return it or pay for an upgrade. I gave down payment of $800 for a 6 piece sectional. When they delivered it one piece was missing (armless recliner), one was soaking wet (armless chair) and one had a hole in the back (Wedge). John Boyd and the management promised to make good on fixing my order. They did replace the armless chair, but the wedge was on back order, and when the missing recliner got delivered, it was damaged and did NOT recline. Do NOT shop at this Ashley furniture location. I ordered $2500+ worth of bedroom furniture. The order failed to be delivered on time, when I tried to contact my store representative they were on vacation, when the order was finally delivered the INCORRECT dresser had been scheduled/delivered. I went to another Ashley furniture location in Houston and they took care of me. When I returned to the Pharr location they said they couldn't do anything to offer store credit for everything that had gone wrong. I would strongly suggest against buying furniture from Ashley Home Furniture. I bought a sofa from their showroom which said it in stock locally and so it would have expedited delivery. That was a lie. Ashley has to ship everything in, so you pay for delivery and it is not cheap. They quoted me for a delivery in 3 weeks. I was not initially happy about it and almost wanted to just go to Lacks or another local store with something in stock. But I decided against it because I really liked the sofa. After confirming my delivery date 2 days before it was scheduled to arrive, they called me with short notice to say that it would not be in for another week. I asked about receiving credit off that delivery price and they said no. I am now due to receive the sofa nearly 30 days after purchasing it so if you want to wait a month to receive your furniture, shop here. Update: They pushed it back another week and admitted to not knowing when it would get here. Even with that, they said it's a 10% cancelation fee. It's amazing how they can be so selfish to ask for understanding of delays given the Cornavirus but at the same time, want to charge you for canceling in a time like this. I having being dealing with Ashley's, since 2019! I first purchased a set of sofas, I believed were nice and good quality. I was wrong. The arm rest broke after 6 months. The furniture technician said it was not fixable. We received credit and decided to upgrade to "Leather" reclining sofas. Please keep in mind, there is a super long wait to receive the furniture. The delivery date is constantly being delayed. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR FURNITURE ON THE DATE GIVEN TO YOU! After, a long waiting period, we received the "Leather" reclining sofas. My existing broken furniture was placed outside on the street. While the delivery men unboxed the new "Leather" furniture, the sofa was brown and the loveseat was beige. The whole order had to be returned and the broken furniture, that was on the street, was placed back into my home. Another waiting period started for my furniture. Finally, my "Leather" furniture arrived. After about 2 months, the reclining mechanism broke. The furniture technician came again and stated it could not be fixed. The part was ordered and another waiting period started. When the reclining mechanism arrived at my home, we still had to wait for the furniture technician to fix it. I finally thought this ordeal was over. In 2020, the Pademic hit and I started to notice early on that the "Leather" was peeling. Since, nobody was allowed in the home and Ashley's was also closed, due to the lockdown, I decided to wait on filing a complaint. Also, I had purchased the $399.99 Montage insurance policy on the furniture. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON MONTAGE FURNITURE INSURANCE! You will never get to speak to someone and they will not help you. Finally, we were vaccinated and decided to take a trip to Ashley's Furniture Store in Pharr, Texas to show them the pictures of the "leather" peeling sofas. If you have read this far, let me tell you a true story I over heard while waiting in line at Ashley's Furniture store in Pharr, Tx. There were 5 people in line with paper work in their hands waiting to complain. While waiting, there was an elderly couple at the desk, we were next in line, to complain. The elderly couple was furious and complaining about the mattresses they purchased and had not yet received. Their delivery date kept being delayed. The Ashley's Furniture "Customer Service" worker told the elderly couple that the reason they had not received their mattresses was because the US Government told Sealy to stop making mattresses because they needed the metal from the mattresses to make the nose pieces on the medical masks. I couldn't believe my ears. It was our turn to complain. While speaking to the Ashley's customer service worker, he decided to leave mid sentence, while I was speaking. He just left! I asked to speak to a Manager. According to the Ashley's Homestore worker, there is NO MANAGER in charge of the Pharr location. We left the store upset and left with no answers to our questions. After having the worst customer service ever, we decided to just leave it alone and never buy from Ashley's Homestore ever again. This was about March or April 2021. Out of nowhere, 7 months later, I received a phone call October 2021 that my furniture was going to be delivered. I was surprised and of course, it was not delivered on the date given. It was finally going to be delivered November 12, 2021. Wrong, the furniture was torn and the furniture had to be returned. I was told by the delivery driver that Ashley's Homestore was going to call me. Of course, the phone call never came. I had to call and I received a delivery date of January 4th, 2022!!! I asked for a full refund several times throughout my ordeal. I was denied because it was over a year old. A multi-billion dollar company, that claims to be the #1 furniture store is a LIE!!! I want my money back after dealing with Ashley's Homestore, since 2019. It is going to be 3 years now and I'm still not satisfied with my so called leather furniture. Leather does not peel. And educating someone who doesn't know about leather telling me leather products peel all the time was infuriating. Leather does not peel, hence, why it's more expensive. Bought 2 recliners in Feb 2022. I was told they were in stock when purchased. 2 weeks later, only delivered one couch, in March. We were told the 2nd would be delivered in beginning of April, another 2-3 weeks. Checked with them in mid Aoril, and were told would be delivered in mid May. It took him 30 minutes for a quote. He would not show me any other information. They were higher priced than competitors and it was going to take over 2 weeks to get. She explained she needed a patio set for outdoors only. The coffee table was displayed with the outdoor furniture, and my friend asked several times if it was indeed for outdoors. She was assured it was, and bought the set. Sure enough, when it recently rained the veneer starting to separate and rise. She called Ashley and was told she was past her warranty and who told her it was an outdoor table anyways? She didn't have the sales lady's name, and was told there was nothing they could do. A month later I then get billed by TD bank that money is owed. I have been calling on and off and nothing has been done to clear the charges. They never answer the calls, like ever. I walked into the store once after calling multiple times prior ( like 6 times) to find all their employees either standing around and chatting or sitting down relaxing on the furniture while the phones were going off!!! I purchased several pieces of furniture for cash recently. Unfortunately I had to cancel the order a week later as the property the furniture was bought for fell through. Ashley took my cash in 5 minutes but when I called for a refund I was told it would take 5 days to process the return and post to my account. 7 days went by and no refund. Called to check on status and was told the cancel order did not get processed for 6 days after I called and that it would now take 7-10 more business days to refund the money. Still waiting...Can't fathom this company thinks this is a good business model. Lose a customer for life and gain nothing from holding up their funds for a few weeks. Lose Lose for Ashley. I purchased furniture from them on May 2020 and they told me they should have the furniture i purchased in full by June 19.That we should get it by June 28th. I didn't have Vacation days until July so i scheduled the delivery on Friday July the 3rd before 4th of July so my family and i can enjoy them. Well low and Behold i have a "Corporate" Customer Service employee named Maggie(said she has no employee badge number she can provide to me) just call me today 7/2/2020 at 10:26am central time letting me know that they are not going to be able to deliver the furniture till next week! I sold my sofas and have had an empty living room and was looking forward for my sofas to get here. I let Maggie know that i ordered these May and was told they for sure will be here by the 28th! What in the world i even gave them extra time to make sure they are here. I told Maggie to just forget it and refund me my money that i paid in full and she says "their will be a 10% restocking fee"! Are you kidding me?! Seriously?! I get a call on the 6th that my furniture is to be once again postponed to a later date of August 26th,2020. I head back to the store on Friday August 7th and the front girl in customer service said there is no Manager on duty and won't be in until tomorrow at 12. Saturday the following day I head to ashleys at 1pm. The front girl this time said that there is no manager on duty at this time. While I was standing in line for my turn there was a customer in front of me arguing about the same thing, as I was speaking to the front desk another 3 customers came in after us talking about the same delivery problems they are having. Ashleys has so much running around and no one can resolve my issue all I want is my money back in full. I'm willing to say that the 26th is going to come and I'll be getting another call on the 25th that there is going to be another delay. I will keep updating on progress on 8/26 delivery. This has been not one of the worst but has been THE worst experience in my life with any company. Regardless of COVID at this time it should not take a company over 3 months of delivery and go based off of "Well in the contract it says the delivery dates are tentative" when your sales rep gave me a certain date when i paid my purchase in full. After that I was informed that it would it would take another month, which meant after Thanksgiving. I spoke with manager and his solution was to offer the floor sample. The lady that assisted me and my fiancé at this location was simply excellent. You could tell she cared about the customer and she was putting effort into her job and trying to find what was the best option for the customer. We ended up only find our master bed set at this location since we had liked other furniture at a different company. But her service simply made us want to buy more from her because of how nice and attentive she was to us. Update! I chose not to cancel because was told my merchandise would arrive the 21, which was all I wanted. A delivery date. The date got pushed a week, to Saturday the 28th. I was still fine with that, I didn't complain and waited. I was told I would receive a message 48 hours in advance, didn't get one so I called, today, the 28th. I called the number sent to me, found out it was inactive, had to call another number to be put on hold then told that my merchandise wouldn't be available till December 31, but that I can go pick it up myself before, even though I paid for delivery, I explained the message I received notifying me it would be available the 28th only to be hung up on by the representative. When I called they couldn't do anything. They offered I PAY to get it delivered and that MIGHT get it to me quicker. What? You want ME to pay?? They could do nothing only switch it for something else and I can pay the difference. All i know is that their furniture is beautiful and it is such a shame that I had to have this experience. I would suggest that you avoid this store. We have purchased furnitures from other Locations in the past but this particular location the bait and switch and the false discounts are deceptive to say the least. The policy of matching online prices is not true and the Mattress Sales associate is worse than the Car Salesmen. This was the WORST experience ever! I was charged for a chair that I did not purchase on my credit card. Then when I went in to cancel the bed that had not been delivered after two months, the associate never cancelled it. Now I am receiving statements for payments due on this account for items that I did not purchase and have not received. It is almost impossible to get in contact with someone in the store because the calls go another location. I finally made contact with someone and they told me they would need to speak to their general manager. I will never shop there again. read more

if I had it to do over I would wait for my new furniture before I got rid of my old. It was suppose to be delivered Nov 28 and the nite before they called to say it won't be able to be delivered until Dec 5. They brought part of order today but in wrong color. Cannot get an answer as to when they will be bringing it now. I just get the run around when I call the store and the main office. NO one seems to be able to help us. Very disappointed. read more
