Hobby Lobby is your one stop shop for all craft supplies and home decoration. Whether it's sewing, quilting, painting, jewelry making, scrap booking, model cars or planes, artificial plants and flowers, planning a wedding, or any number of crafts, they have it. Years ago I had a side business of artificial plants and flower arranging, and made swags, wreaths, and all kinds of arrangements for home decoration. I took pride in using high quality materials. Hobby Lobby has some of the best quality and most realistic greenery and flowers I have ever seen. (They also have less expensive lower and medium quality available, but you get what you pay for!) They also have a huge variety of flowers in natural and fashion colors to match your needs. They also have an enormous variety of fabric, ribbons, notions of all kinds, for whatever project you have in mind. I don't sew, but I needed some fabric and material to refresh some mats for a picture for my office and found just what I needed. In the past I did find buttons here to replace some on a favorite shirt. Hobby Lobby does offer custom framing and mat services, however that is quite expensive IMHO. For double mats and new glass for a 31 X 31 print in a frame the quote was $130. I didn't want to spend that much. So I reused the old mats by covering them with fresh materials purchased at Hobby Lobby (I purchased the glass separately elsewhere). It ran me less than $50 and I like it better than with traditional mats. (picture is included). Even if you are not into doing a craft yourself, there are many crafts and decoration items here already finished. It's a great place to browse and get inspired. I enjoy walking around and seeing the different sections by motif: western décor, art deco, shabby chic, old elegance, to sparkly and pink for your little girl's room. The atmosphere is always peaceful. Hobby Lobby also offers party supplies and supplies for special occasions such as a wedding (tiaras, ostrich plume pens, boutonnieres and corsages, etc.) Be aware that there are usually some kind of specials going on, such as 40% off table ware, or 30% off artificial succulents... I got 50% off the gold trim I purchased for my project. There are coupons you can get online as well. So if you think something is priced at more than what you want to pay and are patient it will likely go on sale soon! read more

Don't shop here often, but when I do, I find what I need, pay and leave. I don't use the coupons which are in their flyers because I don't shop here often enough to have them on hand. There is always so many things to buy out here. Im a first grade reading teacher, and believe me there are a ton of things you can use in your room. I'd have to recommend Hobby Lobby as a decent retailer.. I mean, how offensive could Hobby Lobby be to earn a bad review, right? They sell arts and crafts stuff and offer framing services..no one else in town does it, so I guess that means they have a corner on the market.. You know what else? You never seen someone shopping in a Hobby Lobby that's angry.. Seriously.. check it out next time you go there.. Everyone seems so pleased to be there.. Can't say the same for Michael's for sure.. People seem to be grouchy there.. I myself also tend to only shop at Michael's when I am enraged for some reason or the other. Have you ever purchased eucalyptus for 20% off mere minutes after finding out that your wife just left you for the personal injury lawyer who was supposed to be helping you make bank after a carefully engineered fall into a shoe rack at Sears? Yikes. I don't need to take that drama to Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby is supposed to be my happy place. I especially enjoy late January when Hobby Lobby's more "seasoned home decor" tend to go to 66% off clearance. Have essentially about 80% of the house in decor purchased off the clearance aisles which isn't bad if you find something that's cool.. watch for broken stuff they still try and pawn off on customers though.. read more
