This is a horrible policy for elderly people who do not use technology or for individuals in complex situations. Update: As if things couldn't get laughably, unbelievably worse... An older neighbor of mine picked out a few things he was interested in at Ashley for his reply-remodeled house. I drove him to Ashley because he can no longer drive. Are you ready for it? If it wasn't bad enough that they used to close at 6pm, they now close at 5!!! My neighbor works 830-430, which is even earlier than when many offices end their day. How the heck does Ashley expect anyone from the corporate/office world to ever set foot in their store?!?! In difficult economic times, it's really important to cultivate potential customers. Except, apparently, to the folks at the Williston, VT Ashley franchise. Recognizing that Ashley's furniture is really good for what it is: five year furniture (it looks pretty good in the showroom, and will probably last a good five years before needing to be replaced), we decided to have a look anyway, since we need to replace a 20 year old set. Yes, we did roll in about a half hour before the end of business on the Sunday of a holiday weekend. That doesn't explain how we were able to sit on most of the sofas in the place and make a fairly comprehensive tour of the facility without being acknowledged until we got near the desk where the staff was congregated, apparently anxious to close up. (We and the other last customers were just in our cars when one of the staff was at the door locking up, with a few minutes left on the clock.) One fellow disdainfully made his rounds, turning off the televisions 15 minutes before closing time, and gave us a look as if to say, "Come on, tire kickers, go away. I want to go home." That sums up the experience for us. Yes, we probably weren't going to place an order that day, but if anyone had impressed us with how much they cared, we might have had good enough feelings to return and seek him or her out to assist us (and potentially build a commission) in our quest for comfort and quality. If you recognize Ashley's furniture for what it is--not a long-term investment--it's almost worthy of consideration. There are enough Ashley franchises around, however, to seek one where the people see clients as more than impediments to holiday weekend fun. read more

I was in need of some new furniture. So I went a head and checked them out. Ashley's Furniture has a great selection and no one can argue that. But the prices are where they fall short. So like I said the store is huge and has a lot to offer. If your looking for a specific type of cloth, leather or something different chances are Ashley's has it. I liked a few of their couches but then took a look at the price tag....Then my mouth dropped. Sorry but $1200 for a love seat size couch? No thanks! The staff however where pretty nice for the most part. the only thing that I did not like was if your on the first floor and you get someone you like working with and you want to venture up stairs to take a look they can NOT come with you. At this point I was pondering on my budget here and was really considering it but after that it was a no. sadly I don't blame the people. A few times this has happen to me here when I was looking around. Maybe I'm to picky? Sorry but I would rather deal with one person than 2-3 depending on where you go and look. Or hell have your couches all in one place so its not an issue if your looking for that perfect item. Either way the staff seemed friendly enough. The company rules are what hold them back. I bought a bed the sales rep was very pushy. I received a message that it was going to be delivered between 11 and 1, I was out planning to be home by 11 and they showed up early, never called to let me know they were there. My roommate let them in and they brought in and set up the bed. When I came home and laid down on the bed I was immediately disappointed thinking I had made a mistake. After online investigation I realized that they had delivered the wrong mattress. I called and they couldn't find me in the system. I have been told 4 times that they corrected they record and they have not, they said it was unlikely that I had the wrong mattress and when I gave them the item number they realized it was the wrong mattress. Did not offer to make up for delivering the complete wrong mattress and the worst part is if I hadn't noticed I would have lived with the wrong mattress regretting my $2,000 purchase because of their mistake. read more

Buyer beware. They sales dept. lies to customers to get them to purchase the extended warranty and then will not honor it. I purchased a $2400 sectional and it's a piece of crap. The back cushions are all sagging and when I unzipped them I find that some of the stuffing is in bags and some of the cushions have loose stuffing. Tricia, the manager tells me that's normal, she must think I'm an idiot. I was talked into this warranty and told it covered everything, including damage caused by pets. Now they tell me that's not true, another lie. Obviously they make a commission on selling the warranty so they'll tell you anything to get you to purchase it. I called during COVID to lodge a complaint before the warranty expired and was told to call back after COVID. I called and was told that I am now over the warranty period. Who runs a business like that. I WILL NEVER BUY A PIECE OF FURNITURE FROM ASHLEY EVER AGAIN. I'll go to the Superstore where they're truthful, sell quality, and stand by there product. read more

I have never been to an Ashley store in person - but, a dear friend works for the company, so I knew I wanted to pay it forward. I was not disappointed! Within minutes, we were greeted by Adam, the sales manager, who has a great personality and great beard to match haha. My mom and I had the best experience buying a couch and sofa table -- he was incredibly accommodating with our somewhat ridiculous personalities and did us the courtesy of playing along. I am so glad I opted to buy the furniture in person rather than online. Happy to have such a great "furniture guy" near Burlington! read more

My husband and I stopped in the Williston Ashley furniture store during our quest to find furniture for our house. The prices were what I expected from a Ashley furniture store, the selection was decent but we ended up leaving well before we were done looking because the sales associate that greeted us at the door did not give us any space to look, think or explore. They were constantly at our elbow. We were never left alone for more than a minute. They followed us around the entire store, barraging us with questions, their opinions and comments. I finally couldn't take it any more and we gracefully left. I understand sales associates should be attentive but this was overkill. Not sure I would go back. read more

The warehouse manager did a great job of helping us with the exchange. We went back to the showroom, picked out a non-reclining sofa, called him and he ordered that couch which was a delivered a few weeks ago for FREE and is holding up much better than the recliner sofa which was rickety and possible poorly assembled. New sofa is great, exchange left us with ~$100 credit that we'll probably use for something in the future. Ashley made a good come-back through quality customer service, but the quality of some of their furniture models/ assembly methods really needs to be improved. read more

We went to 5 other large furniture stores the day we ended up finding our dream couch at this Ashley. The salesperson, Glenn made himself available but did not smother or pressure us like at the other stores. He was available friendly, knowledgeable and sincere. I see in some other reviews that the delivery charge policy may need some updating but for us it was fine since we live 40 miles away. Maybe just double check the fee before agreeing to a delivery. I highly recommend this store. The prices are great, they have a great styles and the atmosphere is friendly and comfortable. read more

This would be the fourth time i am having my couches replaced. Every time a new couch is delivered it was damaged. They have holes in the leather about a size of a quarter or the stitching has been ripped along with scrapes. The store manager has attempted to rectify this ongoing issue by giving me a gift card however this doesn't even begin to compensate for the frustrations or their lack of decent customer service since i was asked to inspect the couches at their warehouse prior to delivery. read more

Check your bill very closely if you buy something. If you use their in house credit make sure you watch your your statement close. Going on 3 months with them on a 0% apr that's still set at 29.99% yea no thanks. Would have cost me close to a $1,000 extra if I didn't watch my statements close. Still no call back from Ashley "sales team", Debby J from a few days ago as they delivered my new replacement mattress but forgot the shorter legs for my adjustable base as she promised she would have on that order. New delivery guys came this morning, put shorter legs on and stayed until I tested it and made sure height was good for me and my disability (good customer service!) Mentioned the problems I had with Ashley/Williston and interestingly, they said they hear that a lot (the delivery guys from Thursday said the same thing!) Hope this is the end of this needless saga with that store and their "sales team" as I paid enough for the mattress and the adjustable base...The one good thing, the new Tempurpedic Cloud Mattress is wonderful, as is the adjustable part but I should have gone to Super Store for their customer service.... read more

Cheap furniture poorly made. I bought a cheap recliner to use just while recovering from surgery. We were told that the chair was in the warehouse and available quickly. Three weeks later we had not heard a word as to when we could pick up the chair. My husband called and was told it was coming in this week. Because we live on a hill on a dirt road, delivery trucks can't make it to the house during mud season. We arranged to pick it up ourselves. When he arrived to pick up the chair my husband saw that it was in a box that did not look large enough to hold the chair we ordered. My husband asked is the chair would need to be assembled. He was told, "no". Sure enough, when we opened the box, the chair required assembly. We attempted to assemble the chair ourselves without success. A call to the store resulted in being told that the service people work out of Williston (we bought from the Barre store), and are available only during week days. I was now good not to have a disassembled chair in my living room until I could take a day off from work to stay home and wait for the service person. Cheap furniture, lousy customer service. I know you get what you pay for. We sure did. While I likely would not have returned to this store in the future because of the poor quality furniture, I will actively dissuade anyone else from shopping there. Too bad. This Ashley's was once Novella Furniture which was a decent place to buy mid grade furniture. It's a junk store now. read more

I had ordered a couch that didn't hold up very well, the material started to pill etc.. I went in and spoke with Ashley , they gave me a couple options to either replace the cushions or the couch. I decided to go with the cushions first, since I really did like the couch. In 5 months, unfortunately, it pilled again. I spoke with Trisha, the store manager, and she was more than accommodating. She helped me picked out a new sofa, everything was transferred easily and delivery was quick. I appreciate the ease and the quickness of the the exchange. I will definitely consider Ashley for future needs. read more

When we were looking at a dining table and talking about awkward seating, the sales guy started complaining how he had to sit across from his boss or owner of the store and how the boss/owner ordered that last piece of med rare prime rib or something like that. Ashley Furniture is a zero! Bought the Ashley The Perfect 10 Mattress Queen, and it measured 6.5" after letting it fluff up over time. It was the right model # but definitely not the correct mattress. They were willing to replace the mattress but considering the appearance of a "bait and switch" we declined their offer and just wanted the charges credited to our account. They instead charged me a second time adding insult to injury. The store manager fessed up to her mistake and said it would take like up to 4 business days to see the correction on my credit card. Over a week later and no correction on my account I called my credit card company and finally have them going after Ashley to correct the over charging. A notably bad retail experience. The only reason I am giving this store even 3 stars is because our salesperson, Donna, was an absolute pleasure to work with and this would be a 5 star review otherwise. Unfortunately, Donna was not there the day that my wife and I went in to decide on the two twin beds that we were purchasing. Tricia introduced herself as the store manager and proceeded to assist us. When my wife showed me the beds one of my main concerns that I conveyed to Tricia was a particle core product being used anywhere on the beds. Working in an industry that uses particle board products on many items that we sell it was apparent that there was, in fact, some particle board in these items but it was explained to me that it was ALL engineered wood and there was nothing else in this price range for the same quality (whatever that quality was). In an effort to get to the source of my disappointment here I will move to the point that this turned into a, in my opinion, short, one sided and somewhat rude conversation that was clearly not going to go anywhere without upsetting my wife. Story short, we ended up with the beds (and other items) and although the construction of them is not really what I wanted they are nice beds. The importance of me writing this review (my first one ever) is that I feel the store manager made a Value Judgment about our purchase and assumed that we needed to settle on a product that I wasn't convinced that we wanted. In fact, I would have preferred to be shown a higher quality product completely understanding that I was going to pay more for it but was never even offered the opportunity to do so. Instead, we were caught up in a disagreement about the construction of the furniture that was making my wife uncomfortable. I will admit that maybe I should have been more persistent about seeing another option but the experience was going south so quickly that I just wanted to finish up with her and be on our way. On a better note Donna was awesome, the delivery guys were great and although this singular experience may not represent this stores regular practices, this was my experience. read more

We went to Ashley Furniture in Williston Vt last weekend. We have just finished building a huge new house and needed 3 bedroom sets, dining room set and various stands. One sales lady started helping us and she worked on my daughter's bedroom set, we picked out a dining room set and were working on our bedroom set when the manager came over and said she was going to switch her out. Our sales lady went and helped someone else and the manager said to seek her out if we had any questions. The only question I had was what is the fastest way to the door? The sad thing is, my daughter wants a pure white bedroom set and they are hard to find except at Ashley's. Since last weekend, I have seen a ton of bad reviews and I am happy that they were so rude and I didn't spend my money there. read more
