I got a reply to my complaint that I left at this store after purchasing a mattress. I was offered an inspection, but the inspection I received was a man showing up with a long stick who measured my mattress and left after five minutes. He told me customer service would call me. I waited at least a week for customer service to get back to me and they gave me a message that said my mattress was considered not defective. What a long painful, dumb process. All because I have a mattress that I want to return? To get a better mattress? I knew the place was fishy when I got it so this just confirms my suspicions. I know it's the mattress because I travel for work and every single bed has been more comfortable than this thing! With this I get shoulder pain, back pain, leg pain. Lovely! I've seen the other bad reviews from other people and their experiences here and it makes me feel like this company will be completely gone in a year or so. Staff at store is friendly. Customer service department not so much. Purchased a sectional set in January and got complete delivery of it in March. Love seat broke in July. It took two weeks to get a tech to house to look at it for warranty purposes. Tech was only in house for 5 minutes. Tech did not turn in paperwork and we received a call 3 weeks after tech visit. Customer service told us it could be 2 - 6 weeks to get the part and that it would be shipped to our house. 2 weeks after this call, we called Customer service, only to find out the part is backordered and that they don't have an ETA much less ability to at least get tech scheduled if the part were to come in. Here we are almost three months after the loveseat broke and no closer to a resolution. NEVER buying from Ashley again. read more

I have to say, I am beyond disappointed in our overall experience with the purchase and delivery of our bed. We had purchased our first home late last year and decided that we should splurge on a nice bed for our master bedroom rather than the usual IKEA furniture we were used to buying. The selection were pretty slim for our taste in beds but found one in the showroom that matched our needs. We placed the order with Gloria on November 14, 2019 and paid for it in full. They did not have the King version of the bed in stock and it had to be ordered in before delivery, which was fine because we still had our old bed that was going into the guest bedroom. We were finally given a delivery date of December 24, 2019, just in time for Christmas. My fiancé had plans to fly out for the holiday to visit his family and I took this as an opportunity to purchase the rest of the bedroom set from IKEA to surprise him when he returned. Unfortunately, when the delivery arrived, there were missing pieces for the bed and they could not install it. This was a huge inconvenience as it threw a wrench in my plans to surprise my fiancé but understand that it's human error. The manager was gracious enough to refund us the delivery fee for this mistake and we awaited a new delivery date. They were able to reschedule us for a delivery early January. The morning of the delivery, I woke up to a phone call from Gloria telling me that they were unable to delivery our bed again. Since I was woken up for this call, it took me a moment to process this information. Apparently there was an issue at the warehouse and the headboard got damaged, making the bed undeliverable. I was definitely not happy to hear about this since we were expecting overnight visitors later in the month. I remained calm throughout the conversation with Gloria as we worked through this new speed bump. The result of this delayed delivery again caused us to have to set up our new mattress on the floor of our master bedroom in order for us to accommodate our visitors. We also had to store all our belongs that were planned to go under our new bed in our closets and laundry room. It became weeks of maneuvering around all these boxes and a huge inconvenience on our daily lives because of this ordeal. I did appreciate Gloria following up with me regarding our bed delivery as she called on January 10th to discuss an expected date for the bed to be in-stock. She also asked for me to tell her whatever we wanted she would help compensate us for the issue. At the time we were travelling abroad and didn't have any of the details on me but I did ask for some form of compensation for this issue that has caused a lot inconvenience. She told us she would speak with the manager and follow up with me, this never happened. We also felt that she was trying to push us to cancel our order so that they would not have to deal with us anymore. On multiple calls, and several times during the call she would continue to bring up that she would understand if we want to cancel our order. Maybe it's a misunderstanding, but to mention it multiple times makes it sound unprofessional. We finally got a call February 12th that our bed was in stock and ready for delivery. The earliest they could delivery was the following Tuesday so we scheduled it immediately. I took some time off work awaiting the delivery. They came within the window that was given and the bed was installed within 30 minutes. It was pretty quick and the guys left almost immediately. Since I was still working from home, I wasn't able to look over our delivery until later in the evening. The delivery left a lot of fingerprints so I decided to wipe the entire bedframe. There were a lot of missing paint from almost all edges of the bed, small cracks that weren't noticeable unless you were touching it, but then there was a huge scratch on the side rail with missing paint. To be quite honest, it felt more like a secondhand bed than something bought brand new. In addition to the damages, there was a hole in our stairwell wall caused by the delivery that was floor level and didn't get noticed until later at night. Photos of the main damages are attached. This entire ordeal was just a disaster, we had hoped to get good quality furniture and excellent customer service but instead went through many roadblocks along the way. We should have just stuck to IKEA, but I guess that is our fault for wanting to buy something nice and special for our new home. After four months dealing with this issue and patiently waiting, I think it warrants some compensation other than just free delivery. We have been very understanding of the situation but it was just one disappointment after another. We are patiently waiting for your response, after all, we've already waited four months for the bed to get delivered. read more

​This letter is to document the events that occurred on February 15th, 2023. On 1/28/23 I paid $500 using my visa debit card and on 02/ 02/ 23 I paid $500 using my visa debit card. On 02/ 10/ 23 I withdrawal 1, 952.49 in cash For a sofa, and mattress at Ashley furniture store in Woodbury. I left work early to pick up my son from school. I received a text from the delivery driver at 3:41 pm I was informed via text message that the delivery team was on their way and could be arriving in 10 minutes. I notified the delivery driver that I was on my way home and less than 15 minutes away. I begged the delivery driver to give me 15 minutes, he was very rude and even started yelling and screaming at me and said to me to be home if not he was leaving. I said to him my son and I need the mattress to sleep on for the night. I phoned the Ashley furniture store in Woodbury and explained to the manager the situation I had with the delivery driver. We spoke for about 5 minutes, and I said I needed a refund and she said to come into tore my refund. So I went to the store for my refund and the store manager refused to issue my refund. I requested to speak with the general manager and as I was explaining to the general manager on the phone the General manager yelled at me and said I am full of bullshit and I should get out of the store. I am not sure why heme to react to me this way. I had to bring my son (who happens to be autistic) and he started to get uncomfortable running around in the shop I followed him and put him under control. Suddenly 6 police officers surrounded me and my son. I began to record to protect myself theaters on the video said I should give him my ID and tell him my name, I asked him if I was under arrest he said no for the first time and the second and third times when I ask him again, and he said I was under arrest. Hence he threatens to handcuff me if I did not provide my ID. I was terrified and got afraid for my life and my son's life. I requested his supervisor and he said no supervisor. The police walked me out of the store. In summary, the store refused to refund my money and called the police on me, in tears I realized Ig discriminated against me. The officer continued to threaten me with arrest which freaked my son out. finally, I was escorted out of the store. On my way home I phoned the Woodbury police department and spoke with his supervisor. My son and I had to sleep on the floor the night of February 15th, 2023 we never had a mattress delivered. He had a rough night, and couldn't sleep. read more

I am very happy with the sofa we purchased from this store! It was delivered quickly. Joseph Diggs and his team were very kind to me and gave me a good 20 minute heads up on when to head home to meet them for the delivery. Our sofa also came with pillows which is nice because that's something that we don't have to worry about getting. The sales representative was helpful and didn't pressure us to buy anything when we first went in to look. We looked at a few more places the next day but loved the sofa at Ashley so we called and ordered it the next night. read more

Furniture: appearance - 4 stars quality verse price - 2 stars Salespeople - 2 stars Customer service - 5 stars The store gives you a better idea about the furniture than online shopping; but, the prices are higher for the same pieces. They will price match their own online prices so it is a good idea to come prepared. Like most furniture stores, prepare to be greeted and stalked. If there is a chance that someone comes in while everyone is busy, you might be left alone a few minutes. But you will then be greeted by someone else who will be brushed away by your first sales person, appearing out of thin air. It is not unusual but no less annoying, to me. The furniture itself is the highest quality of build it yourself. Lots of mdf. And the cabinets *reek* of varnish. When you buy from the store there is a $90 delivery fee which means that your pieces come assembled and are put into place for you. Look at the online shipping dimensions when you look for the prices. This stuff is all flat packed from the warehouse. My 7 foot tall by 3 foot wide by 14 inch deep glass doors cabinet was going to ship in a box 7 INCHES thick. On delivery, the pieces are every bit as beautiful as they were in the store. However, there were some assembly issues. Nothing major, but for the price of the furniture, and a $90 delivery fee, I expect better. There was a piece of cardboard wedged between the edge of the cabinet and the facade piece that gives it a finished look. There was a piece of the material that covers pieces also jammed in the side so that it could be seen but not pulled out. The metal edges of one piece were only slightly attached and could be easily pulled away from where they were supposed to be. I noticed this after the delivery guys left, of course. Customer service was awesome. The woman was very kind and understanding. She initially told me repairs were already booked more than 20 days out but she would contact her boss. She called me back first thing the next work day! I was amazed. And they had someone out in two days. It was fixed quickly and easily. All in all, I love the way everything looks in my space so I am happy with it. I don't expect it to last a lifetime but I think I will get my money's worth since these are all pieces that don't get much abuse. read more

Update 12/21: I purchased a small dining room set on Black Friday! Great price. HOWEVER, this is the second item I purchase from Ashley that fell apart because they were not put together with care. The dining room set required the chairs to be screwed on and less than one month after delivery, the legs on the chairs are loose and the nuts are coming out. I will need a special screw driver to tighten them so no one falls off the chair or the legs don't break. People, come on you have a ton of customers...make sure your people putting together the furniture know what they are doing and do it with care! -------------- It is unfortunate that only the pricing was addressed in the response to my comments. And seriously, the fact that you would not go down $21 truly is pathetic. I do hope that your customer service is also addressed. In the future I may go to a different Ashley and see how I am treated and if they are willing to negotiate. I have a credit card to Ashley with a $2500 limit so the opportunities for shopping are endless. :-) read more

Sean H. I went into the Woodbury store last Saturday and began looking around at alot of great looking furniture. Betty came over and I began working with her on getting a new dining set. I told her about the one I was looking for and she began looking for me, and informed me of its unavailablity due to store making certain choices on what they stock or not. I was ok with this and Betty was able to point me to a table she thought I would like instead and she was very very right. The price was higher than I wanted but it so happened that they are having a massive Black Friday sale and I got it for almost the same price as the original one. And tonight I showed my girls what dear old dad had done this past weekend, they loved it on sight. On a much bigger note today I discovered that the dining set I ordered was cheaper on Ashley's online website as well as another site that they will price match from. Susie listened to the explaination as I brought up those sites and I received a refund just as their price matching promise promised. I also picked out 3 new full sized Chime Hybrid Mattresses and bases for them and the girls went nuts and they tried out the mattress and loved it. Overall I received great customer service and from just trying out the items I bought, I and my family are impressed with them. I will recommend Ashley to anyone I know and to go to the Woodbury location in a heartbeat. Thank You Ashley Furniture, my apartment now has that awesome new furniture smell. read more

Would have given a five but when it came time to deliver my order the driver called in sick, when the order did arrive the delivery guys set up the bedroom set, but did not confirm that the storage drawers worked properly they both stuck and on one I had to screw the glider for the drawer back in. read more

We called almost 1 month ago and was told the sofa we wanted was in stock (it was in stock and about 5 minutes away from our house) and how we went about getting home delivery, we got told to purchase online and that we could order the home delivery upon checkout. SO we ordered online now ALMOST 1 month ago, have not heard ANYTHING to set up ANY delivery, we had to call back ourselves to find out that now the sofa was being bought in from out of state and was suppose to be called back on Wednesday to set up a time for a delivery of today "Friday". We have now waited so long for something that WAS in stock 5 minutes away. I payed over an extra $100 to have delivery and set up and not even one call back to make a time or confirm ANYTHING. I liked that the Brooklyn Park has a warehouse. I picked up an item and it was loaded into my car at the back dock. I got a great price.

In the past I have made several purchases from Ashley furniture for my home, and have been happy with the service and furniture itself. I stopped in this past Saturday to purchase a new mattress. When coming into the store I was greeted by a friendly salesman who referred me back to the mattress areas and informed me that sales associates specializing in mattresses could assist me. When I arrived to the mattress area, there was a salesman sitting at the desk and a saleswoman helping someone else. I began looking at mattresses for about twenty minutes until I decided on the one I wanted. At this point the other customer left, so the sales man and sales woman were sitting at the desk talking. I waited for one of them to acknowledge me and come over, but this never happened. I finally went over to the desk and waited for them to finish talking, however they never did, nor did they ever acknowledge me. I went back over to the bed I wanted, took a photo of the brand and model and left the store. I ended up going to a different furniture store who had the same bed available. Worst company I have ever had to deal with. They delivered a damaged bed. The delivery guys made a mess of our house leaving trash everywhere. They didn't take their shoes off or wipe their feat, so the crud they tracked in turned our carpets black. Calling their customer service was even worse. The first person was supposed to call back later once something was registered in his system - never did. The second person blamed us for accepting the delivery in the first place even though their delivery people said to call to have someone come out with a replacement part. The third person had to connect us with their delivery partner who wanted us to again wait on a call back and blamed more of it on us even though we have the whole thing documented on their freaking paperwork. We finally are returning the whole thing. I will never do business with this horrible company ever again. read more

I purchased a bedroom set (over $4000). They talked me into buying a mattress protector and said it was under a 10 year warranty. If anything happened to the mattress it would be replaced. Jolene Brewton the sales consultant assured me of this. The protector failed and when contacting the store no one knew what to do.I spoke to the manager Susan and she passed the buck off to her manager Bob Drant, which ignore all phone calls and never returned my phone calls. We recently purchased a coffee table, end table, and bookshelf. My husband and I took a while to make a decision, but our salesperson, Jonathan Kalstrom was great to work with! He answered any questions we had, but then gave us our space while we shopped some more and made our decision. He was very respectful and wasn't hovering around like a buzzard trying to force us into making a decision faster. I didn't believe their customer service could be as bad as their other reviews state, but you should know they are accurate. Ashley Furniture has terrible customer service after the sale. Order confirmation 7250 01677044 01 ordered 12/30/18 because they didn't have in stock at the Woodbury store, set to be delivered 1/2/19 but has yet to be shipped on 1/10/19. Customer service at 866 436 3393 wouldn't answer the phone after an hour of waiting on hold. The Woodbury store offers no help and says to call customer service. Read the other Yelp reviews, learn from our past, then buy elsewhere. I'll be calling my cc company next to cancel the purchase. read more

Save yourself the headache and buy from anywhere other than Ashley Furniture. Last weekend, I went to buy a new bed and found one I liked at Ashley. We were told that part of the bed still needed to come in, but it would be in in two days (Monday) and we could pick the bed up then. Monday came and went with no call from the store. Finally, on Tuesday, we called them and were told that the part wasn't in yet, but would be in by the weekend OR by April 1st. When I expressed reservations about waiting three weeks for my bed, we were told in no uncertain terms that the bed would be in by the weekend. We called again on Friday and we were told that the bed was in and we could pick it up from the warehouse the next day. On Saturday, after driving to the warehouse, we were told that the bed was actually not there and had, in fact, been back ordered. We ended up canceling the order and going somewhere else. I will not be going back to Ashley Furniture. Bottom line: I understand that things get back ordered and there's usually nothing the salesperson can do about it. But if you don't respect me enough to be upfront and honest about it from the beginning, then you don't deserve my business. read more

We bought a 5 pcs sectional sofa with in three months 3 out of 5 pcs broke and needed to be fixed, we wanted them to replace them but they just kept putting bandits on them. We complained to every level and they could not care less they had our money we paid cash up front, part of a reason to not do that again. Maybe if if you pay in installments and stop paying they would be more inclined to work with you or you could give them there JUNK furniture back and not feel as bad for not paying off the debt. I don't know how a business can feel good selling a product where over half the pieces had defects in them and you don't work with the customer, almost $2000.00 and you sell a sofa that breaks in three months how can YOU be PROUD of yourself. Over a couple of years, we have purchased several Ashley items from this store including dining room set, leather ottoman, leather couches, set of living room tables,etc. Literally every Ashley item we have is falling apart. The finish on the the ottoman is disintegrating and the wood underneath is turning to a powder, the dining room chair covers are cracking, falling apart and flaking off, the leg on the dining room table had a stripped screw leading to the leg breaking... I could go on and on. Each time we've had an issue, we have tried to get Ashley to recognize the problem and fix it but to no avail. The problems started within months to just over a year of owning them...but of course it always happened after the slim warranties had expired. Unfortunately, we purchased a lot of furniture in a relatively short amount of time before we fully saw the quality issues come out. Please save the time and effort and shop somewhere else. I also want to mention the we were led to believe that the items they sell are made in the U.S. We were unpleasantly surprised to find out that most of what they carry is made in China...the quality is absolutely terrible and the customer service is incredibly disappointing. read more
