Beware: My daughter went to Razing Hair to get her hair lightened, she brought in a picture of very…read morelight hair so they could see what she wanted. She unfortunately ended up with mousy brown, grey, mud colored hair. She also came home and all the dark dye was left all around her face and through her roots. She had to plead to have them try and fix it. When she went back they (mainly the owner Chris) were rude and short tempered with her. They even said if you just keep washing it, it will lighten up, which means they only used semi-permanent color. They did blow it out and she was hoping she could live with it, but the next day she was crying that they ruined her hair. I then tried calling the owner to discuss having my daughter get her money back, since she was charged $245 for them to destroy her hair. Chris not only was rude and sassy, to say the least, he hung up on me twice and when he finally calmed down and would talk and not scream at me, he said he is sure the only reason my daughter hated her hair was because I told her she looked terrible and then of course he hung up. Even though I was completely disgusted by his comments, I called Razing Hair back to try one more time to rationalize with Chris, but he wouldn't get on the phone, however, when he finally called me back he said he searched and found a picture of my daughter on social media that looked like she loved her hair after it was fixed and he also went on to say that if I continued to call him about this issue he would call my place of work and get me fired for harassment. After all this, the terrible job they did on my daughter's hair and the way we were both spoken to, Chris, the owner actually dared to threaten my livelihood just so he didn't have to do the right thing as a business owner and reimburse an 18 year old, so she could go somewhere else to get her hair fixed. He even continued to say that the last person who tried this he (Chris) actually made sure they got fired from their job. I am flabbergasted that he even has clients. If you want light blond hair, without muddy ash, then Razing Hair is not the place for you. There are numerous talented hairdressers in the towns around where they are located and I suggest you try those, so you can avoid such a horrible experience with a person like Chris, and you will also avoid having him threaten getting you fired from your job just because you are not satisfied with the job they do on your hair. The most ironic part is his website states that they have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed!! Guess that is a lie!!

Despite always tipping generously and showing up respectfully, I was met with coldness, passive-aggression, and a noticeable lack of basic courtesy or acknowledgment unless prompted. At one visit, she ruined a favorite shirt of mine by getting dye on it. Her demeanor felt more about control than care, which made the experience uncomfortable over time. In my experience, Karla may exhibit covert narcissistic traits -- emotionally withholding, passive-aggressive, and unable to engage warmly unless it benefits her image. I would not recommend booking with her. There are plenty of stylists who know how to pair skill with basic human decency.

With AP, I experimented and went from nearly hair down to my butt to just an inch or two past shoulder length. I've also tried a lob and long/wavy with bangs. She's extremely patient with hair cuts and cuts a little bit at a time until I've decided that it's short enough. She also remembers past conversations (even with 6 months+ in between) and the fact that I like my hair low maintenance. She takes that into consideration when giving advice for cuts / color, and is honest about what can and cannot be accomplished in one visit while maintaining healthy hair. Though I ought to go in more often, my color still looks good and naturally blended after nearly a year without touch ups. I find AP not only to be a hair magician, but also really down to earth and easy to talk to. She's an artist who knows her medium and I appreciate her work. Recently, she, Cristen and Lucia opened up their own place, Enlighten Hair Studio, and I am following her from Serene to the new location. I had the opportunity to get a hair cut at Enlighten last weekend and found it to be a great place to chill with a clean, modern meets artsy vibe. They're located on the second floor with ample parking in the lot downstairs. I took the stairs but noticed there's also an elevator next to the place. It was my birthday and she squeezed me in I had it done right after I had major surgery and I had been bedridden for over a month she treated me with kid gloves and made me feel so special and so happy.
