Also it seems that many people crammed in a room like that has to be against fire code. It is really frustrating that it seems they don't manage the amount of people who sign up for the classes or put a cap on it. Like we easily couldn't not had a spot and we signed up/paid in advance. Please Hot Yoga put a lower cap on classes so we can better enjoy the experience!

I was disappointed to learn that ACAC as a multi-location workout facility doesn't have a membership tier that is inclusive for temporary/non-residents. it's either, you buy a one-time pass for $25; a three-day one; or a full monthly. nothing in between. Charlottesville itself is known for having a very transient, ever-changing population so this policy doesn't make sense to me. When I was there, some weirdo was on the stairclimber making this god-awful coughing noise about every 10 seconds. look, I know everyone has their workout quirks but spreading your germs around knowingly (in the age of airborne viruses like COVID) is a bad idea. I brought it to the attention of the desk attendant and she did not seem particularly phased by the news. ACAC Downtown is within walking distance of my flat/crashpad so I will go back. but I'm just hoping they either bring back the punch card or institute a program for non-residents to make life a bit easier.

The women's locker room is disgusting, it smells and there is hair all over the floor and on the shower walls and floor. The hot tub is dirty too. The locker room is way over due for an overhaul. The lockers are dirty and don't get cleaned out ever. It doesn't make sense to have kids in the women's locker room either. Have a family area for changing clothes. Also, the pool is always overrun by kids and it's loud. Terrible gym don't waste your time or money.

Gyrotonic is a superb system to address joint concerns and build flexibility and strength throughout the body. After menopause, recovering from injuries has been more complicated but Casey has been steadily and consistently helping me with patience and nudging me to go further than I would on my own. Very little feels sore after her workouts and it has been compatible with my PT and now yoga again finally! Besides that we laugh a lot! Call her up and give it a few visits and you may be hooked too. My body insists on going even if my head is saying you just need more cardio, and boom, I build up a sweat the next lesson!

Gym time is the bright spot in my day because Wayne and Lindsay, the owners, take such pride in what they do every single day. It was fantastic and I cannot recommend this class enough. The workout was tough but Ann guided everyone through the motions and kept the class aware of the timing/rounds for the entire workout. The facility is very clean and everyone was more than welcoming. Overall it was a great place to get a workout with absolutely no sense of gymtimidation. If I lived closer I would be a regular.
