if i could give no stars i most definitely would. i had my baby shower in this location. let me…read moresay, i was given 30 minutes to set up before my event. if you ever decorated and set up for a baby shower of over 10 people then you know it takes about an hour. nonetheless we set up which pushed my event to start about an hour later. the event space was nice and big. however, the chairs and tables were located on a loft area. which was very inconvenient. we proceed to have the baby shower and ending the baby shower i was opening gifts and other people were taking things down and cleaning up. the bathrooms were done as we were finishing up. the owner terri comes in rudely as a guest is trying to complement her on the space. the owner proceeds to say you were supposed to be out by 5pm. which is true but we were taking things down due to it being so many things. but she never approached the host of the event. i go over to explain and apologize and she rudely says," its just now 5pm and your not finished." i let her know as i am sure she can clearly see everyone taking things down and walking out to cars to pack things up. i go over to her to let her know she is being rude and that there are nicer ways to say things to people. she says i already spoke to you when i walked in ( spoke to my guest). says you people need to hurry up. (referring to black people) but here i am 9 months pregnant trying to help everyone out with things i go to the bathroom with my daughter and she asks to wash her hands. and this lady has the audacity to speak to my 3-year-old and says don't touch that (hand sanitizer) after speaking rudely to a few children and adults. if you are a person of color, i would not recommend using this space. and for the cost $ 450.00 i would had thought she would have had a little grace and class to be polite since she actually entered the event earlier than 5pm. the stress, the embassment, the disappointment and the fact that i had worked so hard to have a wonderful babyshower experience was completely ruined by this lady.

Wow this is a fun workout! It was my first time attending jazzercise and it was at 6am (ahhh). I…read morecame in a bit groggy and was woken up quickly by the energy of this workout. The workout itself is a mix of cardio and strength building. The cardio is the "dancing" part while the strength part includes mats and weights. I cannot dance- at all. But the steps are repeated through the whole song so by the half way point everyone is able to do it even if you are rhythmically disinclined. Every time the instructor gave a dance direction she made sure to explain and show what it was, so I never felt lost for too long. I'm sure it gets easier to remember the steps each time you go. The thing I liked most was that you can completely tailor this to the level you are able/willing to do. The age range was diverse so it wasn't intimidating for me to slow down or go harder as needed (of course the instructor was always pushing me to go harder which I tend to need!). Also, no mirrors which I love! Overall, I was sweaty, laughing, and could feel the burn at 6am so I call that a win. Shout out to the instructor I had, Lizzy, for keeping all of us engaged and motivated!

I was looking to get back into the swing of things after a decade-long hiatus since I quit dancing competitively, but wasn't sure where to start. Knowing how difficult it can be to find studios that offer dance classes for adults in most cities, I feel lucky that I did. I've never been a huge fan of traditional fitness classes and I've tried nearly all of them...Pilates, kickboxing, CrossFit, you name it. But I'm also not too keen on working out by myself at the gym because let's face it--it gets pretty boring. I wanted the social aspect of going to classes and meeting people who would hold me accountable to show up---and I knew my only shot at staying in shape was finding something fun that didn't feel like work. I used to find myself coming up with excuses to get out of other fitness classes that I had taken in the past but going to Turn is something I actually look forward to. For CrossFit specifically, the energy is great, and you get to learn how to do the movements correctly, but at times (mainly when I first started), I've felt a bit judged and lost. It really depends on the instructor and the time you go. Hyrox, on the other hand, is great since you're usually in groups, which makes it feel more structured and supportive. All of the peak instructors I've had have been really friendly and motivating! The owner is also very welcoming and encourages bringing friends, offering a free trial class so you can see if it's a good fit. *Workouts: Classes usually have about 10-25 people, and you can go at your own pace. I typically go 4-6 times a week, switching up which classes I take. When I first started, the workouts felt tough, but over time, they've become much more manageable (results, yay!). Personally, I'm one of the most unmotivated people when working out alone, and they do a great job of encouraging you to show up at least once a week. The classes are a mix of bodyweight exercises, weights, and cardio, so there's always variety. *Pricing: I pay $159 a month for unlimited classes (~$6.65 a class if you go 6 days a week), which also includes 24/7 access and amenities like massage chairs and saunas. When I first started, I was on the $99 plan for two classes a week, which is a good option if you're not ready to commit fully. *Overall Thoughts: Halo Fitness is a great option for anyone looking for that little extra push. If you're new to CrossFit and have the time, I'd HIGHLY recommend going a bit early and asking questions so you don't injure yourself and don't feel so lost walking around, wondering what you need for the workout and which stations aren't taken.

This year was my first time at Cyclebar, I didn't even know this place existed!…read more During my first visit I was welcomed by Kena Campbell, the class instructor. The next visit, I was greeted and assisted by multiple staff. Everyone was very nice and welcoming and great at remembering names! I love the atmosphere and lighting of the studio. They definitely maintain the location very well. Everything was organized and clean. My first ride, I loved the use of the weight bar in between cycling. I also enjoyed Nora and Isaiah's classes. While I didn't enjoy the connect class (too much choreography to follow!) I loved the playlists and energy. Would I return? for sure!
