First they couldn't come out until November (almost 1.5 months) just to do the estimate. Then, they have a $2500 minimum for doing work ("we're a small company", they said). In my particular case the budget/minimum might not be an issue (I don't think it's a small job). Got them to come out next week because my issue is somewhat urgent. About twenty minutes later they called back and said I was already in their database. They don't know why. The last time I had any landscape work done was several years ago, and it was not by Shady Grove. They assure me it's because they've already come out to provide an estimate. But they have no other records. They only have my name and contact information. So, because I'm in their system, they wanted to charge $75 because they "must" have come out before... No thanks. I am an fairly organized person. On a lark I searched my email history and, lo and behold, I find the email thread with Shady Grove. From 2011. Where I *CANCELED* my appointment. So, because of their poor record keeping and a need for $75 not only did they lose an entire project but they also earned a negative review and lost any potential for future work. In the grand scheme of things looking at their other reviews on other sites it's clear that they do quality work. But I can't deal with this kind of silly shenanigans.

He gave me a price then added an extra $35 because the grass was high. Which was fine as I believed he would take care of business, do a good, even cut in the front and back and edge, etc... That wasn't the case. The front yard was incredibly patchy. Not a professional job whatsoever. Also a lot of weeds were left uncut as well as if his equipment wasn't cutting efficiently. He left debris laying around and it should have been removed. All of this and I paid $120. It was a half-ass job. I texted later after giving a thorough look to express my concerns about the work. He promptly replied, if I didn't like his work to find another company. Again, unprofessional. If a client isn't satisfied, you address the issue. Simple. Unfortunately, with so many random people trying to have a business these days, you can't expect them all to navigate with integrity. Best to stick with those you've been referred to by others. We had a big project to transform the side of our yard into a usable space. Ryan and his team at Georgian Landscape Design worked with us every step of the way to design the space so it matched our existing stone patio area and met the HOA's [relatively strict] guidelines. They built retention walls, stone staircases, installed lighting, replaced an aging fence, and planted several new arborvitaes. Everyone that has seen the new side yard have been thoroughly impressed with the aesthetics and quality craftsmanship, but the biggest compliments come from our furry family members. Our dogs love the artificial pet turf which makes their messes easy to clean and hose down and they're not killing our front lawn anymore! They do excellent work but they're not cheap. We're going to be saving up for a while before we can use them again for our next big project to give us a backyard.

In the end, I paid over $350 just to have my front and back lawn cut and some leaves blown, and the quality of work didn't justify the cost. Kids in my neighborhood charge less than $100 and leave it looking better than these guys did. When I raised my concerns, they completely stopped responding. Overall, the service was overpriced and mediocre. They know the work they did does not match what they charged me. And when I said something, they went ghost. No way I'd use them again.
