Last year, my wife and I purchased a 30-year-old home with an irrigation system that wasn't working. Fast forward a year, we contacted The Irrigation Company (whom we discovered through yelp). Within an hour, Chris had located the primary shut off (which was closed), the (4) individual valves serving our yard, and had the system running. Not surprising (especially since the system hadn't run for a while), we discovered i) a number of leaky and broken sprinkler heads that needed to be replaced, ii) a number of sprinkler heads that needed to be adjusted and re-aimed, iii) a valve that was leaking, and iv) a broken sprinkler line that need to be repaired. Upon further review of our system, we also: * Updated controller with a wifi-enabled system (which we can operate from our phone) * Added a pressure reducing valve just beyond the main shut off to set system pressure at 75 psi (we have 165 psi at the street) * Added / relocated several heads for better yard coverage Chris' work if first rate, and his prices were very reasonable for what we asked him to do. We bought an older house (1970s vintage) that came with an irrigation system that seemed to be installed in the 90s. It had good bones but there were a couple of bad valves and the system worked from two separate controllers. Chris did a great job replacing the valve, updating some wiring and consolidating the older controllers on to a new one that works off of Wi-Fi. Chris & Josh did a great job of trouble-shooting and repairing a major underground leak in my irrigation system this past weekend. Having spent numerous hours myself trying to locate the source of the leak, I know how tricky this can be, so their successful efforts demonstrate their expertise. Also, I'd like to point out that Chris' response to my original contact was immediate. When the work was close to completion, Chris made a same day payment request for $980 - I complied promptly AND with appreciation. My primary reason for not originally awarding 5 stars is this; at least 3 times since the work was completed, I've requested an itemized invoice for my records, both verbally & in writing. I've repeatedly been promised a response, but have yet to receive anything. Perhaps other customers might not care about such a minor detail, but I consider such an unfulfilled commitment to be both disappointing and unprofessional. I performed an extensive search to identify a quality company to get an irrigation water meter connected to my residential sprinkler system, along with additional installation and testing of the system. After getting the "run around" by several local competing companies, including unprofessional proposals, trying to charge for a proposal, and appearing nervous about completing the work to code and providing a certificate of insurance, Chris and The Irrigation Company really came through! The costs were very competitive and more importantly Chris provided an insurance certificate, completed the work to code, and offered a warranty. We have an old hose drip irrigation system that I needed checked and most other companies didn't service, nor even wanted to. Chris from The Irrigation Company was the only one that responded, within a few minutes, and said he would stop by to take a look and offer advice. He was prompt, professional, and really knowledgeable. Great guy, easy going, but thorough. He charged a nominal consultation fee, which I didn't mind paying considering no one else even wanted to give my situation the time of day. He not only walked me through the endless layout of hose throughout the half acre of fully planted landscape, checked the drip tips, but answered every question my inquisitive mind threw at him every step of the way. Two of our three outdoor faucets were not working and for over a year I have been trying to figure out where the valves may be. He wasn't here for that but took the time to find them and turn them on so he can test the hose drip irrigation system in its entirety. In the end, he offered his services to repair or replace, but was very honest in saying that a project like this would be 20% materials and 80% labor. So I asked if it was something I can do. No problem, he walked me through what needed to be done, offered to send me links to buying the materials, advised on options for optimizing what I currently have, and gave me the confidence to just do it myself.
