The ambiance is alright, the newer section is a bit more private than the front area. The appetizers were very good, we had the crab rangoon, edamame and rock-n-shrimp. The entrees mixed grill platter (ok, but it was not a platter it was a plate i.e. not $25 worth), a volcano roll (again just ok) and lastly shrimp fried rice, which was ordered to go. Got home to find that the shrimp had just been thrown into the fried rice, uncooked, it was disgusting. Wish we had checked it before we left, it was a total waste. This is the second time we've been to Asia L' Auberge in Lake Charles, LA and it doesn't disappoint. I ordered shrimp and scallops while my spouse ordered the mixed grilled platter. The food was delicious even though the wait time was long, it was well worth the wait!!! The waiters were so friendly and accommodating! The service was extremely fast considering the long wait time, but, I'm a very patient person even when I'm starving! LOL!!! We'll be returning very soon in July to celebrate my birthday! Service was quick. Food was served warm and tasty, but portions should be much larger for these inflated prices. We ordered Egg Roll (4 very small), one wonton soup, one shrimp fried rice, and one General Tso chicken. Our bill was over $63! Small portions at big prices. At any other Asian restaurant that tab would be $30 or less, served larger portions, and the food would be just as tasty. Recommendation: Try LILLIE'S inside the GOLDEN NUGGET Lake Charles. While I will confess that we usually lean towards the bigger name brands in restaurant row at the Golden Nugget, we decided to give Asia a try for a late lunch this past Sunday. Pros: The menu is gigantic. Service was amazing and the food came out super fast. Our sever (Rukchnok) could not have been more accommodating. Cons: Prices are a couple bucks more than you'd probably like. While all of our selections (California Roll, Drunken Noodle, Lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl, and chicken fried rice) were well executed, none of the flavors really wowed us. Asia certainly isn't a bad option if you are staying at L'Auberge however I probably wouldn't seek it out otherwise. read more

If you visit L'Auberge and have a hankering for Asian food, head over to Asia. The food overall is quite good. I enjoy the Special Wonton soup and the Pho soups. Also, the sushi can be delicious. There is a chef named 'Vee' who is phenomenal. Ask for him by name. If he is there, try his sushi. It's awesome. He can make any kind of sushi you want. Very good food! I had the calamari, lamp lollipops are amazing, shrimp can chua, & apple sake. Waitress was nice but was so busy during lunch time it took awhile for her to get things right. She brought out my soup but forgot the rice and dipping sauce. Then she brought the rice. Then the sauce. We came back after midnight for more of the lamb lollipops (tell them extra crispy) and wonton soup. My boss loves the buddha delight (mixed veggies) she had it twice in the same day. Food was really good. Lettuce wraps are the bomb! Always happy except this time around had a table across the room with 2 children and their parents & servers allowed them to play their iPads on full blast. When you pay good money to eat you don't want to hear the music playing from restaurant and then literally hearing O McDonald had a farm on top of that. It was across the room and it was very annoying. I feel like they should ask parents to turn volume at least half way down. Woot woot for Asia! My favorite place to be depressed at in lake Charles after losing a stack to the gambling tables. I'll be honest and bias because every time I've ate at Asia 4 times in this past month and I live 6 hours away... I never had to pay. It tasted like home cooking 3* - dim sum not the best and not terrible if you are craving it then eat it 3* - ramen wow, did I just eat ramen at a casino. Yesterday, I was a customer at this restaurant, food was good but service was lacking. First issue, I ordered my appetizer first because I wanted them to come out separate. I ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls, I asked how many came to an order and then she assumed I didn't know what I ordered so explained the difference between that and Chinese egg rolls. I know the difference and didn't ask that. so I brushed that off. when the appetizer came they brought it out with the entree which was an inconvenience, but not big deal. Big issue came when the bill arrived. First she brought me the bill, it was 27.00 ok and I gave her my players card to get thr discount and my credit card. my table is about 10 feet from the register. so in that 10 feet she manages to mess everything up. she charged my card for double. not only were my items on the 2 new items appeared. she claimed she accidentally charged me thr other table. One that was no where done with their food. I think she tried to sneak some additional items on the thinking I wouldn't notice. After the mistake she still didn't take my discount from the players card and just told me I have to wait several days for the gold on my account to go away. I was in appalled by the quality of food served at Asia this time. I have been craving for dim sum and their fried Chilean sea bass. Well, they ran out of sea bass! So when my shu mai arrived, I thought I was going to drop dead! It looked and tasted horrible. Asia insulted me by serving the frozen, store bought dim sum that you'd find at an Asian supermarket. This spot has good food and I have no complaints about that. But the service here is horrible. With the traffic they get from the casino I guess the feel they can treat you like garbage because they will get customers anyway. BOOOOOO! Worst "Asian" food ever!!! Moved to Lake Charles, and being Hawaiian/Asian, I was excited to know they have an "Asian" restaurant out here. Came here to eat with high hopes and left with an empty stomach! They literally just took the meat/seafood, place it on the plate, and dumped sauce on it! We ordered seafood fried rice, and there were four pieces of "seafood" on it. The fried rice wasn't cooked with seafood; seafood was just added. Nothing had an" authentic" flavor, no flavor at all. Asian food is apart of my culture, and this is NOT Asian food--such a shame. Overpriced shit food. Panda express does better, and I don't like panda express. So that should tell you a lot. We had dinner here while staying at the hotel, nice selection on the menu and I really enjoyed that they listed which chicken dishes are white meat. They didn't have a vegetarian sushi roll listed which was a little disappointing but I bet they would've made one had I asked. We ordered some edamame for an appetizer, my friend got some miso soup (the cup is a huge portion!) and they ordered the shaggy dog roll and the crunchy roll which they both really enjoyed. Asia tries to fill that void with a plethora of Asian cuisines. From Pho and Pad Thai to some of the best sushi in Lake Charles, you can find it all at Asia. The food quality here is quite good and I've only ever regretted ordering the snails, which I don't believe is on the menu. My favorite item has to be the Foie Gras sushi. Small pieces of foie set on top of fatty tuna shashmi. It's really good and the flavors compliment each other. Anther great item is the braised pork belly. The only thing that sucks about this place is the odd to almost nonexistent hours during the week. Because this is catered to gamblers from Texas, you will be at their mercy too. I ended up ordering a crunchy roll sushi with a cup of miso soup (which actually was a decent sized bowl). I scarfed down all the soup but couldn't finish the sushi because of fullness. The sushi came out so well done visually and tasted phenomenal. I also had a glass of their Moscato which was delicious. The food was good and fresh, even that late at night. The reason this review doesn't get a 4 star is the server's attitude and the restaurant being a bit dirty. The waiter seemed bothered by our being there. We ordered our dishes 2 minutes apart and he brought them out that way. Makes no sense, you have 2 pple dining together and you bring out their dishes separately. You're barely digging in the appetizers and here come the main dishes. Gotta rush through them or abandon them for the main dishes will get cold. That part of the server's job has to be improved, timing is important as well as a positive attitude; no one likes to be served by someone seemingly unhappy to be there . Asia's remodel & updated menu are a total improvement! I was actually shocked with how good our food was, since our last dinner here (over a year ago) was less than stellar. Our table of 8 was seated almost immediately when we arrived sans reservation at 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday evening, during Superbowl weekend no less. Service was quick, and our waitress was really nice about splitting the check four ways. Prices were very reasonable (LARGE, share-able entrees for $14-20 PP), especially considering L'auberge is a somewhat expensive resort. Our table shared the crab rangoon and shrimp spring rolls - on par with just about every other Asian restaurant ever - as well as an order of fried rice. The fried rice was phenomenal. It was packed with tons of egg and fried somewhat crispy, similar to how it is prepared at a hibachi restaurant. Winning dinner entrees were the shrimp & chicken pad Thai, although it could have used a little more spice for my taste, as well as the General Tso's chicken. Others at our table ordered the Hunan chicken & orange chicken, and seemed to enjoy theirs as well. One of our companions ordered the sushi and said it was appetizing although nothing to write home about, similar in taste & quality to grocery store varieties and a bit overpriced compared with most sushi restaurants. For those interested in cost, my husband's and my bill totaled $50 and included an appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 beers and 1 $10 glass of wine.
