Never coming back. They charged a 15% tip on the bill without saying anything. No mention of a mandatory gratuity, it also says it nowhere on the menu, I looked everywhere. Was going to leave a nice tip but opted not to since they added gratuity and then put "suggested gratuity recommendations" starting at 18% at the bottom of the receipt AFTER they charged tax and their mandatory tip. If I hadn't paid attention to the bill I'd have cluelessly tipped on top of theirs. I asked about it politely and say I was mildly frustrated they never said anything and they got all defensive and rude. What a scam, the food wasn't special either. Not a sushi connoisseur, so I don't know good vs bad sushi, but had the Perfect roll and the Crazy roll out of the two I thought the perfect roll had a better overall taste. My chicken teryaki bento box was decent enough, but nothing special. The chicken itself was a little on the flavorless side (I added salt - something I almost never do), and the broccoli was a touch undercooked, but the shumai, california roll, and salad were all tasty. This was a very random great find. We were at the golden nugget and refused to wait at any of their restaurants (plus they're overpriced and not that great) so we decided on our trek back we would attempt an Asian fusion place in the area. It was Sunday evening when we arrived and noticed outside they had a huge banner advertising about all you can eat sushi. We were interested. Walking in the place was somewhat small but the staff was ready to seat us and take our orders. We received the coveted pencil and paper, ordered our drinks and immediately jotted down our first round. For 26 dollars, we easily exceeded $40+ worth of food each. They were a tiny bit slow bringing food out even though we were the only ones in the restaurant but seriously the food was great. The dragon roll was awesome. Sashimi pieces were greatly proportioned and tasted fresh. They were out of tomago (sweet egg) but that was alright. Overall we definitely got our money's worth and would totally stop again to enjoy this place. One note I would like to make that we observed when eating, a couple walked in to pick up a to-go order and was so unbelievably racist and rude. Within 3 second of the waiter's response she replied back with a "I can't understand you, is chad your real name?!" We were mortified and felt so horrible for him. He handled it so well and politely brushed it off as he took care of the couple's order. He was very respectful and we were very impressed with how he handled the situation. Has large television with closed captioning & no sound, for which I was grateful. Forks are provided unless you request chopsticks. Serves Coca-Cola products & tea among other things. Has a drive-thru window for food pickup only - no orders taken at the window. Has large handicapped accessible restrooms with enough room for a wheelchair to move around in. Getting out of the restroom in a wheelchair might be tricky since you have to pull the door open from within the restroom instead of from the hallway side. We stopped in here last night for a quick supper. We were seated right away and I ordered the Combo Hibachi with Shrimp and Steak that I requested to be cooked Medium. I asked the waitress which soup was better, the Miso or the Clear and she recommended the Miso. It was good. I drank it all down. Even the little side salad was good. The shrimp were delicious, but the steak was probably cut into too small of bites to be cooked to Medium - it was actually cooked Medium Well and wasn't nearly as seasoned and tasty as the shrimp. So firstly, let me just say this, I don't give out five stars easily unless the place is something great. I literally reactivated a long since unused yelp account just so I could write this review. I'm really happy first of all that we have a good sushi place here in Sulphur. If only it delivered! I myself got the salmon don and an avocado roll (And they didn't skimp on the avocado. I always find people do, maybe because it's a bit pricey anyway, but they didn't. Bravo!) and nibbled on my dad's tempura because he couldn't finish it. The portions are insane, but around here that's gonna be a good thing. The prices are what you expect from sushi and aren't cheap, but you get your money's worth here. The fish is fresh, the meals are tasty, and the service is pretty damn great. I can tell they're still ironing out the finer details of the place and getting organized, but all of that is forgiven when the wait staff is enthusiastic and the girls at the register were asking a lot of questions about what we thought, how we thought the service and the food was, and so on. They really do care about the place they work at, and that makes me want to come back many more times to give them my business. Passion and good food is what it's about. You then order your appetizer which comes in about 3-5 minutes. Upon the invitation of the owner I tried Sake a second time. This time my wife and I dined in. The service was great. The waitress was very friendly. I'm pleased to say the quality of the nigiri sushi was better this time. It was fresh and on par with most of the sushi restaurants in Lake Charles. The pieces were still on the small side, especially for the price, but they are the only sushi restaurant in Sulphur at the time. Some future competition may change the prices some. We also ordered dessert. I ordered the Vanilla and Mango Mochi, which was very good. This was the first time I've had Mochi and I recommend it. My wife had the fried banana and it was also very good. All in all, it was a much improved experience. If the value improves I'd give it 4 stars, but with the smaller quantity vs higher prices I have to stay at 3 stars.
