This is our go to spot for Chinese pick up when we are on our way back home from a trip to FL as we get back in to town. Never been to eat in just because there are so many options closer by our house --- but I will say in many ways this Asian restaurant does the best most of the time. They always have interesting specials on the chalk board that I wish I knew about when I walk in, and think -- we need to come here to eat in. They also have special offers just to eat in - free egg roll kind of thing. The restaurant is decorated in a crisp, more modern style yet still warm and inviting. On a Monday after Christmas, only one family eating in and many empty tables - he is trying. The owner greeted me warmly when I walked in and we joked about the specials for eating in. I gave 4 stars for my first review because I felt not EVERYTHING was excellent and I needed to be transparent, and it will give me an opportunity to return and do better. For example, they forgot the soup we ordered (2 star). I called and they readily gave me a credit, but I don't know when I'll use it and if they will remember when I do (3 star). So that will be the 5th star if that actually works out. As for the entre's: The 5 STARS: I don't do battered and fried but my daughter and her boyfriend to. They seemed to like their meals, and the battering held up on reheats the next day -- not a soggy mess, that that is a PLUS. They only charge 75c to replace white rice with fried rice on an entre. They only charge 1.25 to add on soup to an entre compared to the $4 for a side dish. The broccoli chicken was tasty and broccoli not over cooked. The 4 STARS: Kung Pao Chicken on med heat was not very spicy, and couldn't really even tell there were peanuts in it because they were mixed in - was the crunch a peanut or water chestnut or celery chunk. A lot of meat that was fine, but I found my self stealing the broccoli from other dishes. I never can remember which of these comes with the baby corn and pea pods. I don't usually order Lo Mein because I avoid excess carbs, but thought about indulging with this and year end before I start new year resolution, have it now not wish for it later. So don't know if Lo Mein is supposed to be bland and dry. This one was. I got the chef version because it had chicken, beef/pork, and shrimp. I added soy sauce and Sriracha, and on reheat, some of the sauce from the other dishes. Shrimp was large and probably 4 pieces. Understandably more chicken in the mix. Minimum vegetables. Never quite understood why Lo Mein seems to be one or the other -- veggies or meat I will be back -- gotta get my soup! :) But will not get my 2 4 stars, and venture into a new realm of finding flavor, spice, balance of interesting crisp vegetables and tender meat. read more

Great food, good but very slow service. I think our dishes were dropped when a worker slipped coming out of the kitchen and I heard a huge crash of plates breaking followed by an elderly woman screaming and cursing (in Asian). It went on for several minutes. The waiter never mentioned this and it was another half hour before our food came out. Total wait time was at least an hour and the place was almost empty. Lots of to go orders picked up while we waited though. Recommend you call in your order ahead of time. read more

Went for lunch. Granted that was a busy time but found it rude of the waiter not to answer a question about a dish. He snapped " what do you want? I'm busy." When asked why he wasn't too busy to answer another customer's question but not mine, decided to make his busy life easier and left. I've never run across such a rude server. read more

Another one bites the dust. I ended up coming here yesterday ,my family and I were in the mood for some Chinese . My review is based on the health inspection score on Yelp. The food was good, but when I seen the health scores on Yelp where the scores are getting progressively worse each year, it's a problem. it feels a lot of these facilities are paying less attention to the health and safety of their customers and more to just making money. Asian Cook in Fayetteville never fails to impress. I've asked our server Cole if they used MSG. He said they did not. This is great news since I have epilepsy and MSG is a trigger for me. They come in early to do the prep work but they don't use pre-packaged sauces. That's why they are so accommodating when a customer asks for something gluten-free or without MSG. The food is great! Most of the food was spectacular! We got the chicken lo mein, steak hibachi, miso soup, and ginger salad. The lo mein was the best I've had in town. Actually had flavor. I'd come back just for this. The steak was good quality and perfectly cooked to order. Service is friendly, a bit forgetful but overall good! Take out was in and out like crazy!!! Lo mein did not come with the dinner!!! We split it!!!! Miso soup was bland but soy sauce helped it out. Veggies over peppered. But the lo mein was SUPER GOOD and so was the steak!!!! Have ate here a few times in the past, last night we tried a few new dishes and was disappointed. Had the lettuce wraps and was not happy that they didn't have the peanut sauce that usually accompanies them. Had to ask for teriyaki sauce because didn't know that it was already mixed in with the chicken. Another person got lemon pepper chicken and there was no sauce with it and was kind of plain. We tried Asian Cook based on the reviews. The food was good but the experience was not. We arrived and after waiting a few minutes by the sign that said "wait to be seated", we were asked to sit anywhere. Picked a spot and waiting about 10 minutes for a drink order. Then waited almost 20 minutes to place a food order. This experience was especially disappointing as they were not extremely busy. It seemed to mostly be the result of the staff not being organized. Once the food order was placed, the food arrived in a timely manner. It was probably less than 10 minutes which is very good. The food quality was good and it was quite tasty. We had chicken fried rice and a sesame chicken lunch special. It will be worth trying a few more times to see if the service issues we experienced were the exception or the normal experience. read more

Food: 1. teriyaki combo (shrimp and steak) my cousin enjoyed this! 2. hibachi combo (filet mignon medium and salmon) Salmon wasn't fishy and the filet mignon wasn't chewy. Plus! Honestly some of the worst fried rice I've ever had in my life- dry and bland. Steak and Scallops hibachi came with only 2 scallops. Hibachi vegetables was 85% onions. Hibachi steak was okay, nothing special. Soup and salad aren't included with the hibachi meals, unlike other similar restaurants. Server was very quiet and took 15 minutes to bring our waters from the time we were sat. Restaurant wasn't crowded, so there shouldn't have been such a wait getting waters.
