Absolutely fantastic eatery with beautiful decor in such a small place. I pass by it often and decided to stop here earlier today. I was immediately taken aback with the stunning decorations. If I could do a half star I would. Never got our food after an hour -- cancelled it and then surprisingly it shows up looking like rubber dogshit. And then the manager wants to argue about the time we sat there. Hell NO-- NEVER EVER AGAIN. They brought one of my kids meals but never brought our food. Low quality shit. read more

Soooooo good. Looks very nice on the inside. Very nice servers. Tom yum soup was great. Bangkok curry shrimp and fried squid was good too. The gen tso chicken wasnt so great. A bit dry. But all around good place to go. Gonna make this my ONLY asian food spot. read more

This is a full service restaurant unlike almost all the other Chinese ones in our area. The decor is stylish and subdued oriental. Seating has always been quick and the service attentive without being overbearing. The food covers many Asiatic types and has the most subtle flavors. The food was great. I am Chinese and traveling through Mobile and wanted some good food. We found it here. We ordered their asparagus chicken, Mongolian beef, and pan fried noodles. Each dish had a different and delicious taste. So many times we will go to a Chinese restaurant and everything seems to have the same sauce (gravy) but not here. Delicious-5 stars. read more

Excellent food, efficient service and very friendly staff. We order take-out regularly and dine in about once a month or so. While primarily a Chinese restaurant, the menu has other Asian food as well. The shrimp tempura or tonkatsu are both good Japanese choices. Don't overlook the specials posted on the door as you enter. The "today's special" stir-fried eggplant with pork is my wife's favorite but you won't find it in the menu. We normally start off with the dim sum sampler, especially since not many Chinese restaurants around here serve dim sum. read more

Great restaurant! Every time my family and I go there the food is always plentiful, and delicious! We try to go there once or twice a month.

There lunch special is a great price of $6.99 and you get a whole lot of food. My favorite is the Orange chicken and General Tso's and they give you numberized amounts for hotness the 5 is awesome. read more

Well definitely won't be dining there again. Took too long to be seated, even had to ask a other patrons eating if we were supposed to seat ourselves. Ordered drinks and an appetizer immediately. Bout 10min later ordered our entrees. Patiently waited for the app. Then came out the kids meal ordered and we were told that they always send the child dishes out first. I went ahead and canceled the app...,,We assumed oh food would follow......we waited.....and waited...and waited. We had enough and canceled the rest of the Food and demanded our check. Then out comes the food... We refused the food and still waited for the check for what we did have...drinks and a kids meal. You would think that would have brought a manager straight to the table. It didn't. We got up and went to the register where the owner tried to argue with us about how long we waited. She then dismissed the check and we left quite hungry and headed for the Foo.... Absolutely ridiculous. So many restaurants are crap now a days, I'm amazed they are able to stay open. Will never attempt to go to this restaurant again. Don't waste your time and money. read more

I had the exact same reaction when I went in here for the first time a month ago...I had on my blue jeans and polo shirt...and once I sat down, I was like..."ahh hell...was I supposed to wear a jacket in here?" Very VERY upscale decor for an Asian restaurant. Portions could be a bit larger for what I ordered, but good quality. Very relaxing, and really would love to find out where they got those awesome light fixtures from....WOW! And I agree with other posters...Id give them a 5 star if they improved on the fried rice...its like that one little thing holding them back from a perfect 5 star rating. read more

Asian Garden is an excellent Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere is perfect for small gatherings of close friends. With such dim lighting it would also be the perfect place for a romantic dinner. The furniture is elegant and the tables are small. The food took forever, it seemed, but was well worth the wait. The waitresses were all very nice and made the experience that much better. The sweet and sour chicken was fried at least twice and was extremely crispy without being all that greasy. The sweet and sour sauce tied it all together. It was a more subtle sauce than the usual sauces that are always too sickeningly sweet. Asian Garden has definitely perfected that recipe. The orange chicken was also quite exquisite. It has a pure orange flavor that left a heavenly aftertaste. The pieces of orange that were in it were extravagantly sweet. The fried rice was full of fresh vegetables and even had an egg drop in it. The wall decorations were even more oriental than the food. There was a huge fan on one wall that had a majestic bird painted on it. The back wall was ornamented with two gold robes that were beautifully hand embroidered with intricate designs of birds and flowers. The furniture, of course, was more modern and very comfortable. The tables were sized conveniently for small groups of diners. There was a single table that would hold more than five people. This intimate set-up encourages a cozy atmosphere where patrons can feel at ease. Another encouraging aspect were the amazing waitresses. The waitresses were all very nice. A few of them were more difficult to understand, but they were patient and always smiling. Even when people asked them incessantly to repeat themselves, they spoke just as sweetly as they did the first time. When they brought out the food, the waitresses actually remembered what everyone had ordered, most waitresses don't. They didn't bring us the check until we asked for it. There was no urge on their part to clear their tables for more people. All the women very kindheartedly wish everyone goodbye when they leave. They all just briefly stop what they are doing to make sure you leave with a lasting impression. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service make any restaurant experience a positive one. Asian Garden has a dedicated workforce of waitresses. Their chefs cook the best Chinese in town. The décor really tied it all together to make customers feel right at home. This restaurant should be on everybody's go-to list. read more

TL;DR Version: Service was slow and bad, food was underwhelming, atmosphere was claustrophobic, and we won't be returning. See below for the full review. Came here today for the first time, and we expected them to be busy during a Sunday lunch rush. Surprisingly, we were seated immediately, though the hostess just slapped our menus down on a table and rushed off. No, "Your server will be with you" or "Enjoy your meal." Additionally, the restaurant was chaotic with the all the servers (I counted at least 7 for a restaurant with maybe 20 tables) constantly darting around, and the tables are arranged in such a way that the the place seems crowded even when it isn't. They even have a table jammed between the doors to the bathrooms! There were a few extra seats at the bar, too, for customers waiting for tables or to-go orders, but the bar top was covered with clutter, stacks of leather booklets for the tickets, and baskets and paper everywhere. There were even canisters of fortune cookies at one customer's feet as he waited at the bar. He accidentally kicked it over at one point, and the servers kept having to reach around him and under his legs to get to them. The white tablecloths and fancy plush chairs are nice, but stuffing them into a tiny room doesn't make much sense, and it seems like the owners are trying to make the place seem a lot nicer than it actually is. I ordered the lunch special sesame chicken, and my husband ordered General Tso's, both with water to drink. The server brought me the wrong soup and never checked back in with us to see that everything was okay, so I ended up just eating the soup. The appetizers (egg roll--which was really more of a spring roll--and tiny rangoons) were okay. We waited over 45 minutes for our entrees (which surprised us since it doesn't take long to make these dishes at home, let alone in a high volume restaurant), and when they finally came, both were overcooked and dry, and my sesame chicken had so much garlic that the smell of it burned my eyes. I LOVE lots of garlic, but I had to physically move the plate away from me. An hour later, my mouth still tastes like I ate straight cloves of garlic. We got one drink refill the entire time, we didn't even get straws until after our entrees came out, and it took another 20 minutes after they cleared the table for us to get our check. The server who took our ticket and credit card was gone for another several minutes before bringing us our receipt to sign. No one even apologized to us for the excessive wait, let alone offered a discount or anything. We will not be returning. read more

The inside is lovely, wait staff wonderfully professional and accomodating, and the food is presented in beautiful aesthetics. The chef is an artist. I had pork and mushrooms with a miso soup and a delicious light spring roll. I paid less than I would have for a buffet and ended up feeling warmly satisfied. Amazing place. I agree that it is Mobile's little PF Changs. Right around the corner from me. The only drawback is the traffic at Hillcrest and Cottage Hill, but it is worth braving for what you get. When I walked in to order check out the wait staff greeted me and I was taken aback by how pretty the place is. Classy upholstered chairs, not you typical Chinese restaurant. Very friendly staff.
