    Lo Mein (vegetable)
    Latisha W.

I ordered the vegetable Lo Mein (without mushrooms & onions). I've had other dishes here, like the veggie curries, that were great. But this Lo Mein is the worst I've ever tasted unfortunately. The noodles were mushy and overcooked. The "sauce" basically tasted like oily vegetable broth. As you can see from the veggies in the picture, they are just oily without a char and without any flavors. The dish honestly just looks bland as you can see. I can't tell if this was cooked in a microwave or an actual wok because there's no caramelization of any flavors. Nearly $20 for this dish on top of that. A lot of locals prioritize this place over other smaller Asian options here in Mebane but I'm not certain if I'd return for anything based on this waste of money.

I'm so happy I stumbled upon this casual sushi spot in Mebane! I met a friend for lunch here over the weekend and we were both pleasantly surprised. It wasn't busy at all when we arrived at noon, and I only saw a few more patrons coming in during our meal. I was kind of shocked about that, but it's in a shopping center down from Food Lion, so maybe location? Either way, the restaurant is super clean and beautiful inside, our waitress was wonderful, and above all, the sushi is excellent! Super fresh and an amazing deal! They offer 2 rolls for $17 or 3 rolls for $22 (I think even cheaper lunch specials!). With this deal, you also get a soup or salad. The rolls were a great size and again, so fresh. I had the Alaska, Spicy Yellowtail, and Mango Avocado roll. My favorite was the mango! The sauce they use on top is delightful, a hint of sweet but not overpowering. I loved the ginger salad dressing and the dip offered with the wonton "chips" for the table. I will definitely be back here and my friend who lives an hour away said the same! I can't wait to try some other dishes here too such as their hibachi or even more elaborate rolls. Check it out!

    Bento box and philly roll
    Alex A.

Visited the restaurant on Juneteenth after a day of shopping at the Tanger's and didn't quite like dining options there. Looked for the nearest Japanese restaurant and found this on Yelp. We were very peckish at this point and figured we'd give it a try. The ratings looked really great, especially from my fellow Yelpers so we figured we'd be happy. Happy to report that the food was good. Not great but satisfying. My wife ordered steak and shrimp bento box and I ordered a Philadelphia roll and a chirashi sushi. I was taken aback when I saw the way they served the Chirashi sushi dish. The traditional way was to serve that in a bowl. Instead, they served it in a plate sashimi style. While I don't really mind some variations, but the total deconstruction of the dish wasn't something I anticipated and admittedly don't like. One of the few saving graces about this dish was they served sushi rice. Nonetheless, I wasn't particularly enthused by it. I'm a stickler to the traditional way the food should look. With that, let's grade the entrees. The bento box for my wife was a B. The oyster appetizer was a B+. The philly roll was a B. The Chirashi was tasty but the presentation wasn't appealing. I'm giving it a B-. The service was attentive and helpful. No complaints. The ambiance is typical of most strip mall restaurants. Pleasant, quiet and clean. All in all, it was a good experience. Would I come back? Maybe, but I'd like to visit other restaurants in the area that have the same number of stars.

    Hedgehog roll

Followed the strong reviews here on our trek between NCSU and home. Started with the special 'hedgehog' roll which was wonderful. Seaweed salad and summer rolls both fresh and large portions. Hubs had the spicy basil, which was good and not over the top on heat. I had the dynamite and North Carolina rolls, both well done. Restaurant is clean and lovely. You won't think you're in a Food Lion strip mall! Service was delightful and fast. Would definitely stop here again!

The food here is really good, I loved the hibachi. The restaurant vibe was okay, it was really silent, they did not play any music. The service was good, but I would definitely order to go next time.

For some reason the chef adds an extremely high level of oil to everything that at least I ordered and as a result this made my dish pretty well inedible. Contrast this with real Thai food that I have gotten fairly consistently in High Point for example and you wonder if the high rankings this establishment gets are due to the locals just not having a clue about proper Thai Food.

We live in Knightdale so this was a trek for the dinner hour but I stand by my decision. This place is right downtown off of Magnum so there's parking garages nearby. Don't be fooled by the facade. Apparently this place used to be Dos Perros, and the logo is still in the glass Inside you immediately walk into the front bar area and hostess stand. They were busy so it took a while for someone to address us. We grabbed a high top in the bar area. They have like a dozen AC units throughout the dining space, so temperature control was a priority. (Appreciated). Food wise we grabbed the calamari, some spicy wings and some steamed dumplings to start. Dumplings were decent. Calamari was pale and could have been fried harder. Also, it was a weird cut....long flat pieces instead of the circular cuts I'm used to. My kids loved it, but def not the best I've had. The wing sauce was a highlight. We asked for hot, but as a table if west Indian people, the heat level was mild. The wings were also slightly less done than I like. They were drowning in a plate of sauce though. I'm wishing i would have taken the sauce to go and refired some wings at home and put em under the broiler so the sauce would have caramelized on the meat. They had all the elements, but that would have def improved the flavor and texture there. For entrees, we got a Chicken Pad Thai (my son called it a spiritual experience) , two orders of pad see ew with crispy tofu and one Drunken Noodle with Pork. I didn't taste the pad Thai so can't cosign my son's review. The sauce on the pad see ew was the highlight. The tofu was under done (not crispy), and the Drunken noodles were decent. For the Triangle, this was great Thai. Comparing to all the other Thai I've had in life, this was ok. But if they want to seel their sauces on the side, I would def grab some of those and chef it up at home. Staff was friendly and attentive. Felt like family owned - no pretense, just helpful people.
