So I decided to get takeout AND eat in to see if there was a difference with the food.... The first time - I ordered take out. I actually waited to order my food once arriving. The restaurant wasn't packed, but it was a pretty decent crowd. It took about 20 minutes for my order. Food was pretty good no complaints. The second time - I decided to eat in. Ordered the exact same thing with the exception, I ordered the country roll! Same thing, it took about 20 minutes for my main course to come out. Sushi was GREAT (Tasheena, the waitress, suggested it)!!!!!! My order: Chicken Hibachi no zucchini - came with grilled onions, soup or salad, noodles, and white sauce. The difference for the most part was the amount of food. You definitely get more if you eat in versus if you just do a take out order. First time here and had a great time. Service was great we had a lady serving us and she was very attentive and nice with the kids. Gave us plenty of time to order and didn't feel rushed. The restaurant was clean and there was a lot of seating, not too bright and not too dark. We ordered quite a few things but I didn't get a chance to take pictures of everything. They also give you a bottle of white sauce they leave at the table, and that white sauce is pretty good. Probably one of the better ones we've had, it's not overly thin or sweet. We ordered two children's shrimp hibachi plates that came with 5 pieces of shrimp, fried rice and plain noodles. No veggies come with the children's plates. It was $9 per plate. Both kids were extremely happy. We also ordered a steak and shrimp dinner combo, it was around $18. Comes with steak, some shrimp, broccoli, onions, zucchini & mushroom. I think presented on the plate it was a smaller amount or maybe just the way it's presented but we did get a pretty full plate of leftovers in a to go box. Steak and shrimp were seasoned nicely and the steak was cooked perfectly. We shared this plate because we also got sushi and other things. Husband got a seaweed salad which he said was some of the best he has had. It was pretty soy based but was good. He also got soup which he said was pretty basic and was fine. We also ordered a Side salad with ranch, got some lettuce with some carrot pieces. Your basic salad. Can't complain. Sushi we ordered was the Country Roll, Niobe Special and Sakura Blossom. Each roll is priced around $9-$14. They were all covered in spicy mayo and eel sauce but can't complain. We like that stuff. The Sakura Blossom roll is probably my favorite. It has raw tuna on the top, avocado and salmon in the inside. I think cream cheese as well. It was good. The Niobe special was pretty good as well, was hoping for a bit more spice but it was more mild than "hot" for anyone that doesn't like too spicy stuff. My son really loved his Country Roll this is a good roll for beginners it has crab and cream cheese and it's fried so it's like a sushi bake but in a roll. Would definitely recommend coming back, it's priced decently and you get a lot of food. Can't talk about service like others but we had a good time. Would rate 10-10 overall! read more

As a lover of hibachi, i'm always on the quest to find new places to enjoy. I feel like the Triad area has no shortage of options, but it's always good to find a new and good place to add to the portfolio. I got on the great Yelp and found Niobe so we decided to get it for dinner. We called in our order, but there are plenty of booths to sit at if you would like to dine in for lunch or dinner. I got the hibachi steak and chicken. Simply delicious. The yum yum sauce is a must have. The portions are huge, which is obviously awesome. It also comes with a soup as well. Prices are very good so you'll get bang for your buck on top of good quality. The portfolio has expanded to add Niobe to it. I went back two days after our first visit. We took my sister in law to this Japanese restaurant in Graham. The ambiance was casual and comfortable. The service line was very friendly and fast. The hibachi meals were very good especially the shrimp. My sister in law was disappointed with the wasabi for her sushi because it was too salty and not wasabi enough! We entered the establishment and ordered our food at the counter. We sat down with our soup and salads in styrofoam containers and plastic disposable silverware. The soup was essentially a broth with some fried onions on top that were dissolved into like a mushy like consistency the salad was just lettuce with a little bit of carrot. I did have to pick out several pieces of orange tinted lettuce. The dressing was a Thai peanut style that was rather thick in consistency and not very fluid. Once we finished that our main entrées of chicken hibachi came out on real plates not styrofoam. The rice on the hibachi plate was bland, but the chicken was cooked perfect the veggies a little over cooked but still tasted great. The white sauce, elevated the rice and made it taste better. You also have the option of a ginger sauce, and a Sriracha sauce, plus soy sauce on the table. I recommend mixing some Sriracha into the white sauce for a more milder spice flavor. Overall, I would rate the food good and we had a very enjoyable meal. The main meal portions were hearty and filling. read more

The prices are a bit higher than other restaurants with the same lunch menu but the taste and portions was well worth it! Customer service is lacking. I have been going to this place since they opened. If the female owner is not running the register... service is going to SUCK. I always eat in. Anyway .. I go today and someone different is behind the counter. She proceeds to take my Oder and then barks at me"eat in or go"? I told her I was eating in and she barked "you no order here.. you go there" and motioned towards an open table as she proceeds to pick up the phone and begin taking another order. Mind you, I have ALWAYS ordered at the counter for the years that I have come here. I digress. I went to sit down to wait to be served... ordering ahead of the rest of my party as I had somewhere to be. After 10 minutes, no one had acknowledged me... so I got up and left. I called my party and we are going somewhere else. There were at least 6 of us... $20 per person + drinks + appetizers... they lost at least $150-200 by being rude. In a day with so many options, I will not pay to be disrespected by a business. You need me more than I need you. The owners have always been kind, but then again, your employees reflect on your business. I will look for other options for hibachi in the future. I am not sure what 3 stars means to a lot of readers. It does NOT mean the food was marginal. Nor does it mean I would not go there again.. I would. I went there for lunch, and most "lunch" places don't rate a 4 or 5, they would be cost prohibitive. This is a solid lunch stop. The Pros: Service is fast and friendly. Lots of seating. Clean. Easy access off the road in a stip mall with lots of parking, even during the heavy lunch hour. When we arrived there was a long line in the order window. I was worried, but the line moved fast. Better, the food arrived toon after. Lunch came with a salad, and I really liked the house dressing. Food was good - not great - but absolutely "good". Cons: Dinner ware. Someone previously complained by the disposable tableware. It was not a big deal to me. Again, lunch... don't need fine china for lunch. So I only mention this as a con because someone before had complained. It was fine by me. That and I wish the salad came with more dressing. Couple have used a bit more, but I wasn't there for the salad. Verdict: For lunch, I'll do it again. Its all about expectations. And this met my "lunch" expectations. Had I been taking my wife out for dinner, probably would fall a little short - maybe. But she's about the food. So maybe. But it is a good solid lunch place that can accommodate larger parties. It's Raleigh's hibachi steakhouse & it's very very good so any place that claimed to do hibachi was always such a let down to me when I tried it because it could just never stand up to kanki Then I decided to try this place regardless of the bad reviews & was so surprised! The steak is real steak.. Not that nasty stuff they would serve in other places.. The vegetables are great & so is the fried rice! Also their soup is wonderful as well! I love it & have brought a few friends in who love it as well! One friend got teriyaki chicken & white rice though & hated it.. I didn't try it so I can't say if it was bad or not, but i would maybe just stick to the hibachi! It's really good! & about the complaints about the interior.. This is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in the area. They always give you good size portions. The food is always fresh and hot. They use an angel hair noodle that has a really, really good flavor. They're white sauce is second to none! I always have a good experience when I come. Yesterday was my first time trying Japanese food. I am glad we choose Niobe. The atmosphere here was nice. The food was good and the portions were plenty. The service was good. The prices were fantastic. We choose to sit at the Hibachi grill area and have our food cooked in front of us. Our cook made the whole day. He was funny and very nice. It was a very pleasurable experience. I tried Niobe shortly after they originally opened and had a fairly negative experience. A few years later, I went back for a second and third visit and my experience changed pretty drastically. The food is good, if a tad heavy on the soy. It's still tasty and you get a pretty good-sized serving - not too much, but certainly enough for a big guy like me (even if I am on a diet). I'm a little hesitant on the sauces (served already cupped-up off the same place you get your plasticware and sodas), but any restaurant that has a carafe full of siracha is going to get my very pleased attention. If it were just the food, I'd give this restaurant 3 to 3 1/2 stars and let it be (the prices and ambiance are average for your average Hibachi bar), but the staff are some super people, and I've got to give them credit for having such a positive effect on the customers. Have been hearing alot of hype about this place. Decided to try it out. A friend told me about the family take out plate for 20 bucks. I decided to order the steak chicken and shrimp which was 29.00 plus tax. Reallllly disappointed. There were 15 pieces of shrimp, a half of a plate of rice, a little corner of noodles, and very few vegetables. The steak and chicken portions were ok. This is the worst experience for a take out order I have ever seen. I am home sick, called in a to go order. I sent boyfriend to pick up food with my phone number attached. He called while there and I could hear 3 or 4 employees in the background talking and he was so confused about our order. He came home with our food and someone else's. After I told him several times the order. He couldbt even hear me over the employees going back and forth.
