Soooo goooood! We ordered both the deep fried specialty rolls and fried calamari. The sauce served with the calamari was a nice surprise. The rolls were represented beautifully and tasted amazing. They were larger in size than expected which I feel is a huge bonus. My man and I were def stuffed after all of that. The dynamite roll was my favorite, we also got a teriyaki steak roll that was mouth watering. I was not expecting Mebane to have such an amazing fresh sushi restaurant. I have ever only gotten take out from Asian Harbor and the people that do the to go area are ON POINT. They will literally take everything out of the bags and open the boxes so you can see your food and ensure everything is accurate. The food is incredible and you get ample portion size for the price. There's enough food that you can have leftovers later!! I was nervous getting sushi for to go but it was just as delicious as eating it in the restaurant. The Pad Thai was too sweat and lacked any complexity. 2 of of 3 person party left the bulk of their meal uneaten. After visiting this place probably ten times, I can say the reviews were mostly wrong. This place isn't just good, it's fantastic. It looks like a typical strip mall joint, but inside is a nice atmosphere, a top notch staff, and amazing food. I've tried something different almost every time we've been here and everything has been something I would order again. A couple were spicier then I care for, but the flavor was fantastic and I would simply ask them to turn the heat down a touch next time. We both really like that it's not just a Chinese place, but has dishes from multiple Asian countries. I don't know if everything is fixed "traditional style" or not, I just know it's really good and we both like it a lot. The pot stickers were barely stuffed and not very flavorful. The Pad Thai was oily, too sweet and the rice noodles weren't the right consistency. The sushi rolls didn't taste fresh. The rice was too firm and not the right temperature. The fish was on the mushy side and just not very flavorful. The atmosphere and the service were ok. I like to try new places based on reviews, but this time I felt grossly mislead by Yelp. And that has not been my experience after years of consulting Yelp for restaurants when I travel. read more

Hot and New? 4 1/2 stars after nearly 20 early reviews? Better believe the hype as once the word is out it'll be the go-to spot for all things Thai and sushi! Asian Harbor is a fabulous spot that's tucked on the end of a small strip building that's just off I-40. Average strip building restaurant inside with seating for probably 50 or less. We started with a sushi roll seeing as how that's a calling card for them for sure. So I didn't hesitate in getting the Amazing Roll. Loaded with a nice Ahi Tuna and deep fried, this sushi roll didn't disappoint! In fact, it was some of the best sushi I've had in a long time! Secondly, I tried the Fried Rice Thai Style with chicken. This was so incredibly fresh with tons of chicken, eggs, and peas! Certainly better than I'd imagine for a fried rice! Thirdly we had the Mongolian Beef with the incredibly fresh vegetables. The vegetables all seem to have a crunch to them which screams of their freshness! The Mongolian Beef is such a nice tender Beef with a overall bite to the dish itself! This place is the real deal with great prices, fabulous sushi, and great Thai selections! read more

This is one of my favorite sushi places by far, and I have eaten a lot of sushi. The servers are all excellent, the owner is wonderful and she is pretty much always there checking in on customers and making sure your orders are correct. I have never gotten something that I have been disappointed in! All the fish is very fresh, my favorite side dish is the tuna tataki. It's a good family place, and a good place for dates. He saw us with our baby and immediately went for the high chair, offered me a free soup or salad while others were eating theirs (because my meal didn't come with one), and kept our glasses full. My wife and I were looking for a Thai place in the Mebane area, and came across this restaurant. It's close to the interstate and pretty easy to get to. The ambiance is nice - relaxed, bamboo on the walls, etc. We came in on a Saturday evening and were seated quickly. Our server was very attentive and was knowledgable about the menu. The menu itself was great - lots of choices, but not as overwhelming as, say, Cheesecake Factory. We both got Thai Teas as a drink, and a Seaweed Salad, Edamame, and Potstickers to start. All were delicious - the seaweed salad especially tastes very fresh. We then went with a Bento Box and Mussamun Curry. Both were outstanding - the curry was sweet but had a wonderful flavor. The Bento Box (hibachi veggies) was delicious as well. Our server did steer us away from the Pad Thai because she said they use a different noodle than other restaurants, but I might try it anyway next time we come. And that's for sure there will be a next time. For a new restaurant they hit it on all cylinders! Here's hoping they become a local institution. read more

I shopped at the nearby outlet center and asked for dinner recommendations in the area as I had really worked up an appetite. Asian Harbor came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. I found the sushi to be fresh and delicious, and the service was friendly and helpful. Additionally, I loved the Tom Kha soup. It was rich and flavorful.
