The couples first book La Colombe d'Or was created in their Paris basement in 1994. It is about their favorite hotel in the South of France and Martine wrote the text and Prosper took the photographs. Their first collection of books focusing on designers and fashion, the Memoire collection was released in 1996. In 2003 Assouline opened in a corner of Bergdorf Goodmans and in 2006 they opened the first standalone boutique in Paris in 2006. Since their first book Assouline has published 1,700 titles in three main collections along with with special editions. Subjects include architecture, art, design, fashion, gastronomy, lifestyle, photography, and travel.In 2010 Assouline began designing, producing, and selling furniture along with accessories, luxury gifts, and library accessories. They also offer a design service which creates libraries for individual clients homes and hotels. Books run in the hundreds of dollars. There are white gloves available if you want to touch them. What makes this store so horrible?  1) They are on a constant scam and barter system, they do not have any fixed prices. All of the price tags are ridiculously priced, but everything is always 75% off. But even with the price being "75%" off, it's still double or more than the competitors in the area. 2) The owner is very pushy and overbearing. 3) There is a no return nor exchange policy, so make sure what you're getting is correct. One time I was in there taking pics to send to one of my clients to see if they liked it and the owner berated me and acused me of taking pics for other stores. I couldn't beleive it, I just bought what I needed and left the store. The store is one of the biggest in the area, but it's not worth the trouble in my book.

I was in a short time frame so I replied asking if they could expedite the order. Someone named George replied right away (I believe he is the owner). He was extremely helpful in locating the costume and getting it shipped out to me fast. It arrived today and my son couldn't be happier! The costume is awesome! They're filled out wall to wall with comics, collectibles, figures & even have a RPG space set up. I've been to stores that heavily favor one category like super heroes, for example, while leaving all the other genres hanging. PPF however, has one of the best selection of varieties in my opinion. They're loaded with DC, Marvel, TMNT, horror, manga & also carry some niche ones. I also appreciate how they stay up to date on weekly & monthly releases with a section dedicated to them. Prices are solid & they often have a couple limited/exclusive variants. These are a bit overpriced but sometimes it's better to get them in person & support local rather than online & deal with shipping. Years ago, customer service was a bit iffy but recently it's been nothing but great. They greet you right away, have no issues answering questions & act like they appreciate your business.
