If I could give no stars at all I would. First moving here 4 years ago I chose Aspen Dental. My previous dentist recommended that I have cleanings every 3 months because I had past periodontal work. They said my insurance would not cover it. Why? It did before. They told me she didn't know what code they used to give to the insurance co. so I said I'll pay for the extra and then found I could not get appointments every 3 months they will only do every 6 months. OK. Well I started to have pain in a tooth and was told I needed a root canal on a tooth that had a crown, but according to the dentist this is no problem they put a tiny hole in the crown and seal it after the root canal. OK great ..all done. Next I go for my regular cleaning and the dentist says OH NO you have tooth decay on the that same tooth. Now they need to remove the cap, fix the decay and put a new cap on. Another $2,000. Get the decay fixed and new crown ordered. when I go back they tell me I ow $2,000. I tell them I already paid half on the last visit when you ordered the crown. Then they say it must of been a mistake It's $2,000. I had a fit in the place so everyone could hear. They then said they had a coupon and would only charge me $1,000. Had the tooth finished and told them they are thieves and I would not be back. It's 2 years later and guess what...The crown came off and when I took it to my new dentist he said he never saw anything like it with these pins sticking out of it. Needless to say the tooth is so close to the gum line there is nothing to be done except remove it and put in an implant which is what should of been done after the root canal. My husband stayed with them until he was out of the country on business. He text me and said he broke a tooth and asked me to call and make him an appointment for after he got home. Can you believe they would not let me make an appointment for him. They said he had to call himself even after I told her he was not in the country. He has now not gone back there. read more

Went to my scheduled appointment, arrived 15 minutes early and was told they had cancelled it. Why I asked?!!! The rude receptionist told me that I did not verbally call them to confirm my appointment. I told her I confirmed my appointment via link that was provided to me via text. My appointment was confirmed! The receptionist said she would reschedule me, I told her I would get my dental needs somewhere else. Ridiculous! So if you currently have an appointment with them make sure to call them EVERY DAY to let them know you have an appointment! If they send you a link to confirm , don't use it because it's pointless and they will cancel your appointment! What a joke! So disappointed in this company. They also need to hire another receptionist who isn't rude to potential customers. I would go zero stars for this company . read more

So my wife had a great experience with these guys, me, not so much. I work 60 hour weeks, have a serious time getting to appointments to start with. I get to my long awaited appointment today and the snooty chick at the front desk tells me my appointment has been canceled. What?!? Why I ask? She says because they called me and got no answer. Well, first off, if you're not in my contacts of course I'm not going to answer. But they could have left a voice message. That wasn't an option since the person who entered my phone number put 437 instead of 427, again not my fault. So even though I took time out of my only day off this week to drive all the way to ass-pen dental...they wouldn't see me. And I was there thirty minutes early! I was pissed. And the snooty chick asks if I'd like to reschedule. Ha! Not likely. This place blows! Beware, you ain't nothing but A number...even if it's the wrong number. read more

Aspen Dental is no better than any of the other chain so called dental centers (Coast Dental) they are OVER priced and treat you like a person going through an assembly line. Believe me I know a few things about working for a group like that! Spent 1 1/2 of the longest years working for one of them. I spent 26 years in the dental profession and it makes me upset to see how they take peoples money. By the way if you don't sign up for Aspen dental payment plan and still make payments on your own every month they can try and send you to collections. Hospitals don't even do that!!!! Private dental offices or dental schools are your best treatment for your dental health. The only reason I gave this a 1 is they did have a clean bathroom. read more

Horrible customer service !!!!!!! I called and booked an appointment 3 weeks out. They send email 3 days before to confirm, which I did confirm. They call the afternoon before my appointment and cancel my appointment because I did not get their call. Called Veronica at Aspen Dental back after I get the message of my cancelled appointment and she states there is nothing she can do except rebook my appointment. Unacceptable! I reach out for dental assistance 3 weeks in advance and cancel me with no regard for my wellbeing. This is the first time I have been treated like this by any dental or medical practice. The worst dental clinic I have ever been too. They don't do as they say they will. Closed on a Friday without fixing my dentures left me with no teeth this is the 2nd time they broke in a week only had them for 2 months cost way to much too. They knew I have a medical condition and need to eat the right foods and now I can't till whenever they decided to get around to fixing them. Never go there they don't care about you. read more

This particular office in Aiken, SC has turned out to be a nightmare that I am trying to wake up from. I went in 2021 to get a full upper denture and here it is 1 year later and I now toothless and without a permanent denture. This office issued me dentures called ComfyLytes in April and in September the teeth began to break off, so I returned for a replacement, which took 3 weeks. Within 3 weeks of getting the replacement, the same teeth broke off and this time the entire denture crack while eating at a restaurant. When I went back to ask for a refund, I was told that the product used was discontinued, yet they gave it to me, not once, but twice. They offered to do another denture, but guess what I said, NO THANK YOU AND PLEASE ISSUE ME A REFUND! read more

Wld give Zero stars if Yelp wld allow it. ASpen DEntal in Aiken SC. Rude staff. Also,, made to wait an unacceptable length of time. Had several appts. w/in a few months, and not ONCE did any of the staff introduce themselves - I still have no idea what their names are. When I made the simplest request - including could i have a Kleenex the technician sighed like it was a huge deal to give me a freaking Kleenex. after I thanked her, no comment - no "yr welcome." One time it took the dentist 45 MINUTES to make his first appearance as I sat waiting in the exam room. Another visit it took him 40 minutes. Staff did not want to answer my questions about what the procedures wld involve. One of them cut me off, saying I shd "let her do her job." The female dentist -- who knows what her name is -- she never told me - is a cold fish. I mentioned I was nervous; her reply was an abrupt and dismissive "Your'e fine." What a charmer!! Receptionist never smiled - not once during all the visits I made there. What a great way to greet yr clients!! The more times I had to go to Aspen for work to be done, the clearer it became all they are interested in is making LOTs of $$$. No personalized service, no warmth -- I was simply a thing on an assembly line w/$$ signs stamped on my forehead. I know this review wont make a bit of difference to the staff at Aspen but perhaps potential clients will read it and take my advice to GO TO ANOTHER DENTIST. On a Saturday afternoon, one of my husband's rear molars broke apart, shedding bits of filling and pieces of the tooth structure. Our usual dentist does not have Saturday hours, so I looked for a dentist advertising Saturday appointments. I contacted Aspen Dental through their call center. I explained the problem in detail, and made an appointment with their Aiken office. I was relieved to think that we'd get at least a stopgap solution. I expected them to remove the cracked pieces of tooth/loose filling and put on a temp to cover the open pulp (even if, understandably, they did not consider it appropriate to do anything more extensive on someone who was not their regular patient). However, a receptionist (not the dentist) informed me that all they would do was to enroll us as a new patient! No offer of treatment whatsoever. In my opinion, an open broken tooth needs some sort of temporary treatment to avoid pain and infection. I feel that this franchise acted unprofessionally. A patient in need of care should be helped, even if they are not going to become your permanent client. read more

I went in because of some pain on the left side of my mouth. They insisted on doing a full set of X-rays but did not have the right size for my mouth. When the X-rays weren't fitting they got very curt and rude with me. I asked if they could do the exam without the full set of X-rays and they said no. They tried for a half hour to get the X-rays and became so rude and angry with me that I left in tears. I would not recommend this place. read more

I called the office and was told a tooth cleaning would be $138.00 without x-rays, I set up an appointment got my teeth cleaned and was asked to pay up front. A Week later I get a bill for another $56.00 for a the exam Dr Nalley conducted after the cleaning. I called the office and was told the dentist exam of your teeth after cleaning is never included it a separate charge. I explained I should have been up front and the manager says well it still $56.00. I'll never be back and it to bad as Dr. Nalley seems great but the practice will nickel and dime you on unexplained charges. read more

I only had an initial visit that now has me owing $1776 for services I never received. I was pressured into getting extractions and full set of dentures. This was to take place 2 days after my initial visit as not to let me change my mind. They started out with a price of over $9,000, then mysteriously got it down to $5,400. I got financing for the $5,000 and was supposed to pay the $400. Never feeling at ease with the office, I canceled everything withing 5 days and disputed the charge they had already ran with the finance company (Dentalfirst/Comenity bank) of $3400. Long and short of the story; I never received any dentures, the finance company will not take back their payment of $1776 so they can charge me high interest, I have never received any dentures. Worst dental experience ever. Have been waiting 3 months for them to bill my insurance for my first 2 visits (this is after i already paid my deductible and co-pay)! In the mean time, I have other dental work that I need to have done and they are wanting full payment (not just co-pay) for those services before I can schedule and appointment because they have neglected to take the time to bill my insurance!!! I've been to other Aspen locations and loved my service. When I moved to the area I immediately looked for my nearest Aspen and made an appointment. I took the day off work for my appointment only to find out that they only wanted to meet me and "look at my teeth". I'm not a new patient and I was just coming in for my typical cleaning. That meant they asked me to come back in two more days for a cleaning appointment. I told them I had a meeting out of town and probably couldn't make that time. She said, "that's no problem, just let us know if you can't make it." So when I couldn't make it, I called and was berated for "wasting the hygienist's time." Now I'm sitting in the waiting area for my rescheduled appointment and have been waiting for over a hour. They're not even busy, I'm the only one sitting here. Two people have come in and gone back since I signed in and spoke with the receptionist. It's just a cleaning! I'm changing to a local dental practice immediately. read more

I went a week ago to have two teeth extracted which took them over 2 hours. Not a big deal. However, I wasn't given any discharge instructions, but I knew better than to use a straw or smoke a cigarette for several days and to rinse w/salt water to help the healing process. I kept noticing something sharp on the inside of my gum in the back where one of the teeth had been extracted. I keep thinking it was a stitch. It was so bad I wasn't able to eat for a week and left an awful sore on my tongue. I finally looked and it was a bone. Not only this, I'd been in horrible pain for the past week. I walked in for an emergency apt and they saw me. I had a different dentist, I had two dry sockets, I had to have a saline rinse, I had to be stitched in places I wasn't before, and they had to shave my bone (which is what I thought was a stitch until I looked and saw it wasn't). They gave me an antibiotic and MOTRIN! The doctor told me that whatever he packed my gums with had enough anesthetic in it that I didn't need anything stronger. I was at the emergency room six hours later to receive a shot of Demerol, Zofran for the nausea I was experiencing b/c the pain was so bad and a script for pain meds. The ER doctor told me the dentist was "barbaric" for letting me walk out of there and giving me nothing but MOTRIN. I had shooting pains in my jaw and cheek and it hurt to talk. I have never in my life been in so much pain. I'd have rather gone through the 28 hours of labor I had 7 years ago than deal with the pain that I'm still feeling. I will never go back to Aspen. I feel they are in it for the money. read more
