My last appointment with Somerville dentistry, I was diagnosed to need three or four upper facial fillings in my front teeth! I decided to change dentist for several reasons, but I thought it was interesting that the new dentist could not find a need for any fillings ! Just recently visited their new office not far from their original location...was impressed with the new location's large , majestic, elegant facility...huge parking lot and spacious lobby/waiting room area...one of the nicest , most up-to-date medical offices I've seen... All of the DMDs are helpful and knowledgeable, and they have been able to work me in for emergent needs better than any other office in town. Dentist tried to fill a cavity that wasn't there!! I chipped a cap on my front tooth so instead of filing and making an easy repair, he wanted to replace the cap at nearly $1400. Went to Dental Associates of Grovetown and they filed and polished for$95.00 and it was covered by my plan. Good thing I refused. Are not in any provider network. I had 2 different dental plans, including BlueCross, and they are not in any network. Had to fire them because they aren't in any network and wanted to fill a cavity that didn't exist. They wont tell you that you are out-of-network either so get ready for a bill. When I can read an xray better than the dentist there IS a problem. QUESTION EVERYTHING!!! This guy is a hack and a cheat in my opinion. He's trying to collect on a service he didnt perform and inflated the bill to collection agency. he's a CROOK in my opinion. You screwed up so bite the bullet and take the loss. You cannot collect on a service you 1) didnt do, and 2) misdiagnosed. read more

Have not been to the dentist in a very long time. Was very nervous about having my wisdom tooth extracted. Everyone at the front desk was very nice and the extraction went excellent. The woman taking my X-rays was a joy to y'all with. Dr Wingard performed the extraction in minutes with no pain. This review is meant to highlight the excellence I've experienced over the past 2 years as a patient of Dr. Wingard's at Summerville Dentistry. Embarrassingly, I'm one of those guys who skipped going to the dentist for a long time and then wound up needing a bunch of fillings and root canals. On my first visit, nobody was patronizing; they simply identified what was needed and worked with me to come up with a treatment plan. My experience so far, after having 2 root canals and several fillings, has been perfect; zero complications; minimal discomfort; and my teeth look like nothing was ever wrong! I can't think of a single criticism, and I'm kind of a picky guy. Dr. Wingard also has a stellar bedside manner. He's patient, positive, perceptive, and he's got a great sense of humor. I know he's busy, but I've always felt like he was fully focused on my needs as a patient, taking plenty of time to answer questions and ensure I understand the current procedure as well as next steps in my treatment plan. Now, here's why I'm submitting this review: While doing some fillings today, Dr. Wingard identified a couple new one and then filled them free of charge, since delaying would result in further decay and would delay my treatment plan. Thanks to his pragmatic generosity, I'm healthier today AND will be healthier in the future. Plus, it saved a non-trivial amount of money. Of course, one shouldn't go to Summerville Dentistry expecting handouts; I'm simply posting this anecdote to demonstrate the kind of guy Scott Wingard is. He could've easily ignored those extra cavities, knowing it would mean more business down the road. A lesser dentist might've done that; instead, he went above and beyond, prioritizing my health over profit. That's how I know Dr. Wingard genuinely cares. In a world rife with mediocrity and greed, excellence deserves praise, and Dr. Wingard and staff are the apogee of excellence. Even the receptionists have a sense of humor! read more

OMG it was amazing. The appt. was about a month out from my initial call but they were wonderful about calling me when cancellations came in - they just didn't fit my schedule. The night prior Dr Wingard himself called me! Say what now?! He greeted me so warmly upon arrival and we discussed my love (and now hate) relationship with Sugar Daddies. I was informed for the second time in my life that I had a cavity but I was presented with an itemized statement of that day's charges as well as what to expect on filling day. I recently (unfortunately) had to have a lot of work done that took several months. We had a meeting to discuss payments before we ever began. They worked with us regarding when we were able to pay and even understood when it had to be in small increments and never made us feel the slightest bit uncomfortable over it. The staff and Doctors paid close attention throughout my time there and listened to every question and concern that I had. I never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes, but most of the time I went right on in. They let me gauge how long I needed between each appointment. Every interaction with the staff there was a pleasant one. Dental work is never something that anyone looks forward to, but it was a relief to be able to go through it with people who were so accommodating, considerate, and nice. read more
