10/10 on multiple occasions in the Bemidji office. Tori got me in same day for an extraction. She's always so polite, professional and is extremely efficient in her job. Noel has helped me multiple times as well. She's so calm and helps coach you during your process. She's got a great sense of humor and puts a person at ease. Dr. Thien was absolutely amazing. He cares about you, the integrity of your teeth and talks with you about options. He was the first doctor ever (out of 6 dentists) to extract my tooth under 45min. (Long/curved roots unfortunately) This was by far the best extraction experience I have ever had. So incredibly pleased and already healing well! Like I stated, I don't care what anyone says, I trust their work, the prices are fair and they've always been polite and professional. 10/10 My daughter also had an extraction in 2025 and was so anxious. She was fit in within an hour and they had her in and out of the office within 20 minutes. She was pleased as well and grateful for them getting her an appointment quickly! read more

Terrible scheduling! They have canceled my appointment twice in a row. The first time I had arranged all of my appointments in the same area on the same day because I drive an hour to get to Baxter. OK so I call and get the appointment rescheduled, I was assured that this would not happen again and that it is an issue within their scheduling software noting there is only one dentist available on certain days to accept new patients but guess what I just got another text. Have to call to reschedule. I called, and go through the prompts only to hear the office is closed. Leave a message. Will call you back in 1 to 2 days. This is very poor Customer Service. read more

Requested a form sent to me to fill out so my dental records could be sent to me. Two weeks later and still nothing. Trying to get some money back because they did not give me a choice for the color of my teeth and gums. I believe they did application for a loan because I didn't, but nobody seems to be able to produce said application. read more

BE WARNED... totally took advantage of our college daughter! She scheduled an appointment for cleaning, but was told instead she needed treatment for gingivitis and 5 (FIVE) appointments for filling replacements. When she returned for 1st appointment, they had cancelled without informing her due to late payment. The reason for the late payment was because we needed to call and check into what exactly they were charging us for, which took 3 weeks, but payment was made after that, so why did they have to cancel all the appointments? Well I think that was a godsend because instead of going back there, we had our daughter go to our local dentist, since she's now home, for the cleaning she needed and verify the Aspen dental plan. Our local dentist diagnosis was VERY different! Healthy gums and just 2 fillings that were done at a prior Aspen dental visit! We don't trust this dental clinic and it caused a lot of extra worry on our daughter, so we will NEVER go back and we will never recommend this place to anyone! read more

After5 teeth bothched has told to keep taking his blood thinner he almost died. A 911 and ambulance ride the bleeding finally stopped 24 hours later. Vomiting, week blood pressure way down. Iwonder id F the know how cruel they are. All the care about isfucking money. aspen dental can pay for the ambulance ride and all. I have 5 bathroom bath towels fullof blood from yesterday before we called 911. A lawsuit is perfect for this dentist. I do have photos on my phone of the towels. zero starts 0. the place is filthy a pig pen and so unsanitary. it should be shut down along with a large lawsuit. read more

Would not waste my time here first they made appt on a Fri I showed up to find a closed office so I reschedule which they cancel and put out a week then cancel the morning of the appt. So just a recap 4 appointments later and still no service. This place is a joke read more

The new dentist is much better, and the office seems to be pleasant enough. Its certainly cheaper then anywhere else, but the wait was long.

Very professional, came in with a tooth ache for an exam and they got me in to get removed right away due to pain and being pregnant! I havent been able to eat anything but soft mushy food and been craving crunchy for days now, cant wait to be able to eat an apple! Thank you Aspen Dental! read more

And amazing experience and the my dentist Joseph Shama was incredible compassionate and kind. The truly care about your oral health and my treatment plan not only gave me an amazing smile but also helped me lower my AIC's. People may not want to get your gums done due to the expense but I can honestly you need to get them done to improve and lengthen the life your teeth. I cannot say enough about how wonderful, kind, compassionate and informative the staff was! I suffer from extreme anxiety and they made me feel safe, comfortable and worthy of a good smile. I don't have dental insurance but I found a savings plan that made my fillings, crowns and oral care more than worth it. read more

I was scheduled for a general checkup and cleaning which didn't happen. What I got instead, was a diagnosis that I had gum disease and needed aggressive treatment. I was told to wait and see the business manager to review the recommended procedure and cost and sign papers. After an hours wait, she was so busy having a bad day, and problems with another customer, I just told them to have her call me. She didn't call. The next day I had to call them. I was told the treatment would cost $1,000 but my insurance would pay $500 of it. I said, wow, sounds like a long day in the chair, how long does treatment take? She said, only an hour. I told her that I thought that a thousand dollars for a one hour treatment was excessive and said I might be getting a second opinion but please put their recommendations in writing for review. From the time I told her this, their rate for treatment increased from the $1,000 originally stated to $1,228 with no explanation and also the original $500 they said my insurance would pay went down to $248. I went back to my old dentist, who has been in the business for many years, two hours away but it turns out, well worth the drive. Here is what she told me after a full checkup with a thorough review of the charts and recommendation from Aspen: Aspen must have been very aggressive in their probing because where Aspen had indicated bleeding gums, she and the hygienist saw none. Aspen's perio charts also indicated many numbers ranging from 4-6 on their chart showing what would appear to be a serious degeneration in just the last 6 months since my last visit there. My old Dentist told me that my gums were not receding to the degree Aspen indicated, and couldn't have degraded like that in just 6 months. It was great to have a comprehensive comparison over years from my old Dentist on all the perio charts to expose this. I asked if it was possible that Aspen had just made a mistake and actually tried to give them the benefit of a doubt but when I told her both the Aspen hygienist and the Aspen Dentist looked and told me I actually had gum disease and needed the treatment right away before it got worse. She said no, that my gum tissue was actually quite tight with very little change in the last number of years and that there was NO indication of any current gum disease so NO treatment was necessary at this time. She advised me to not fall for the unnecessary recommended treatment plan and to find another local Dentist if I must seek other treatment locally. As far as Aspen, I feel now that it is only about the bottom line using fear tactics based on dishonest diagnosis. It's a sad day when professional trust is broken. In summary, I don't know about you but a $1,228 bill for an unnecessary and overprescribed treatment based on misrepresentation on the perio chart smacks of malpractice and I for one am so happy I got the second opinion from a highly experienced dentist, it was worth the four hour round trip. If it turns out in the future I do need any treatment, you can be sure it won't be performed by Aspen. read more

From my phone call scheduling the appointment from pain in my WISDOM teeth to the dentist telling me he doesn't deal with wisdom teeth, everything about my experience with Aspen dental was terrible. I will begin with when I was approached by the hygienist that looked at the sore on my mouth(a pimple that was in the corner of my mouth) and said, "we don't touch cold sores." I stated that it was a pimple and I usually do not get cold sores and she responded, "well you are only twenty," followed by a chuckle. No cleaning treatment. The dentist then came in and proceeded by tapping on each of my teeth, telling me I have, quote, "a pretty mouth" and finishing by telling me he doesn't deal with wisdom teeth. I then insisted, with my medical field experience and my current enrollment in bachelor's of science nursing program, that I felt because of my swollen, achy lymph nodes, pus exasperating from the crevasses surrounding the tooth, and the constant radiating pain, that I may have an infection. The dentist then stated that since my wisdom teeth have a pocket that is inaccessible antibiotics doing any help was a long shot. I persisted my need for antibiotics because of my pain and lack of sleep. In that case the dentist then prescribed an oral antibiotic, that I know because of my previous education CAN NOT physically kick in for 36 hours. I was then escorted to billing while the dentist walked away AS the hygienist asked if I had any questions for him. As I got to billing I felt completely taken advantage of. I had some how racked up a bill of over $800 because of an "old filling that needs to be capped", "a recommended cancer screening", and "a fluoride treatment" that I did not receive. They were persisting I schedule an appointment for these things without a single person actually taking a good look in my mouth. Because I was a twenty year old female using my parents insurance I am sure they felt I was in a vulnerable position. I refused all these things and stated, "I need to take care of my wisdom teeth before I do anything." In return they gave me a referral to an oral maxillary and facial surgeon without asking a preference and told me goodbye. I proceeded home and called this surgeon's office to find out they do not have openings for months. With already a lack of sleep and the inability to eat, I called Aspen dental FIVE times, three of which I attempted their emergency line, all with no answer. I did find another surgeon with sooner openings(2 weeks from now) and I needed a referral from Aspen, which I decided could wait a couple hours. After this is when I attempted to sleep(I work overnights so this is my norm). I was able to sleep for 2 hours to be awoken by excruciating pain. I have never cried because of pain and this experience was new to me. I contemplated going into the emergency room, then I decided to try Aspens emergency line (as previously stated). I then decided to just drive to Aspen again. When getting there I waited in the waiting room for 42 minutes without any help. I then was asked by the secretary if I needed anything and I stated, "I was in here earlier this morning and I got a referral for surgery, I was wondering if I could get a different one specified to Grand Forks because Bemidji is full for a long time and with this pain I cannot wait that long." This was no problem and she came back quickly with the referral. Then I stated, "I was wondering if the dentist has any tips or tricks he could tell me to help manage this pain. I am a full time student and I work and I need to be able to function, let alone eat and sleep." The secretary went around the corner(obviously not far to a dentist hiding around the corner very visible) then came back to tell me I was prescribed antibiotics for the pain. I then stated I am well aware what antibiotics are and they are most certainly not for pain. She then stated, "well you need to give them a chance, they won't work right away." May I remind you that the dentist STATED antibiotics were a long shot for helping me. The secretary the went obviously around the corner again and came back to tell me, "you will not be getting any pain meds. Use ibuprofen." Angered, I then stated out of frustration, "I am not a seeker!" Then stormed out. Without guidance of non-pharmacological therapy OR over the counter medications, I preceded home. Again waking up in pain, I decided to visit the emergency room where they gave me the help I needed. No respect for Aspen, their staff, or their uneducated dentist. I will NEVER return or advise anyone to go there. read more

My mother had pre-paid for a partial and the office says the one dentist they have quit and they don't have a dentist to see her - this has been going on for over 3 months, now they are saying a new dentist will be there in March.
