WARNING: AVOID ASPEN DENTAL AT ALL COSTS -- INCOMPETENT, RUDE, AND COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Aspen Dental is an absolute disgrace. This company should NOT be in business. The people who work here are rude, careless, and totally incompetent. They do not care about patients at all, especially not the ones in pain. Here's what happened: I called with my dental insurance provider on the line (a 3-way call) to verify that my daughter's insurance was accepted at this Aspen Dental location. They confirmed it. So I scheduled an appointment a month in advance. A week before the appointment, they randomly called asking for the insurance info again -- weird, but I gave it. THEN, the night before the appointment, I get a call from a nasty, unprofessional woman saying they don't accept the insurance after all. So after multiple documented calls, including one with the insurance company on the phone, they drop this on us less than 24 hours before the appointment -- with ZERO apology or accountability. Meanwhile, my daughter has been waiting in pain and with missing front teeth for a month thinking she had an appointment coming up. Now we're back to square one and likely have to wait another month for someone who actually cares. There is no excuse for this. None. This company is a JOKE. They wasted our time, caused emotional stress, and couldn't care less. Everyone we spoke to acted like it was no big deal. It IS a big deal when you're treating people like garbage. DO NOT go to Aspen Dental. Not this location. Not any location. They will lie to you, waste your time, and leave you hanging. Go literally anywhere else. read more

I was beyond scared when I saw the reviews on YELP. HOWEVER... It was an emergency situation, I didn't have insurance, and they fixed it. Not only that, but they presented me with alternative options, and insurance care. I chose to pay out of pocket, and they were still just as great. Where do I start well they make you wait long enough that's for sure you finally get back there they take your x-rays look at your teeth then you come back out and they discuss your financial ability to pay for it. I thought that was unnecessary the other thing is I had to wait 10 days for my crown to come in seemed like a long time and they rescheduled me for it because it wasn't there for my first appointment I don't know if that's the logistics issue or a scheduling issue I suspect both anyway still clear of this place I can't recommend them I didn't care for their level of care their professionalism nothing nothing about them impressed me and I will never go back even if I have an emergency I'll find somewhere else. read more

Called around to get a cleaning and exam on the same day and Aspen on Notthcliff (Ridgepark Square) said they would do it so I scheduled and took unpaid time off of work for the day they said. Note for a exam I could have scheduled with them on a weekend when I would not need to take off. When I arrived I waited an hour then was taken back waited another hour for a quick exam in a dirty room to be told that I would need to schedule another appointment for the cleaning that they do not do it on the same day. They pulled a bait and switch just to fill the day and bill. The floor was dirty along with the exam chair, baseboards, walls, and equipment. The first appointment I had with aspen dental was unfortunate. I spent 30-min driving there only to be told that 'their system is down' And I'd have to be rescheduled. They claimed it was a company wide issue. For a nationwide company to go 'down' with no ability to warn customers who are already scheduled is extremely disrespectful to people's time. In addition to that, this clearly highlights the fact that the company clearly lacks important business continuity workarounds to at the very least call the patient before their appt OR create a way to see patients and charge them after the fact. Extremely dissatisfied to say the least especially since this company is a national chain and should have far better systems in place to prevent this from happening. read more

Two years ago, this dentist said I had a cavity that needs to be filled. I wasn't able to make the appointment, so it never got done. Came in last week for a check-up, obviously worried that the cavity has gotten worse over the past two years. The dentist, who has no recollection of ever having seen me before, congratulates me on not having any cavities. I look up whether cavities can go away by themselves, and the answer is that they can't. So it looks very much like this guy was just making up a fake cavity to get money out of me. The service at the front desk is amazingly awful, too. One of the women there was both incompetent and incredibly rude to me. Couldn't even be bothered to take her AirPods out of her ears when talking to the patients. When I asked about some details of my finances, her explanation was unintelligible. When I asked follow-up questions, she treated me like I was an idiot. When, finally, I asked to have my x-rays, so I can go to a different dentist, she said they can only do print-outs, which I have to pick up in person (a 40 minute drive). They can't give the digital files, she says, because it's a HIPAA violation. That turns out to be a straight-up lie. I called their corporate office and asked for the digital files; they said no problem, they'll send them over. So why make me drive, when you can just send an email? I assume incompetence, but I can't rule out laziness. Probably a mix of both. Last thing: They said I needed a procedure. Sent me to the finance guy. He tells me what the procedure costs, and I agree to pay it on the spot. Along with the receipt, he gives me a print-out document that literally says "Patient Responsibility: $0". No mention is made of any further payments. When I come in for the appointment to do the procedure, I'm told that I owe another couple of hundred dollars, and that I'll owe a few more hundred later. Confused, I ask what it's for. The explanation is so convoluted, I have a hard time following it, especially when I'm being treated like I'm stupid for not already knowing all about their Byzantine billing process. The person from the insurance company can't figure it out, and no one to whom I've shown the paperwork can make heads or tails of it. Basically, I think this place is a waste of your time, at best, but probably a scam. Avoid at all costs. read more

I do NOT recommend this office. I came in October for an initial exam and evaluation. I knew it was going to be bad news because my teeth are a disaster. After many X-rays and approximately 6 minutes with a dentist (really more like 4 minutes) I was given a quote of nearly $6000 after insurance. I met with the financial person who gave me different options, all of which didn't sound fantastic. I don't really want a "credit card" for dental procedures that comes with a 27% interest rate. I told him this and left the office. Against my better judgment I applied for it anyway. I wasn't approved for anything near $6000 but it gave me something to start with. I tried call the financial manager back 3-4 times and never received a call back. I simply wanted to see what other options were available. I never did get that call back so I never made a follow up appointment. Jump forward about a month. One of the things we were going to have taken care of was a broken molar. About a week and a half ago it started really hurting. I knew there was an infection so I called the office to see if I could get an antibiotic because I had a feeling I'd need one before the dentist could do any work on it. The receptionist said she'd talk to the Doctor and call me back. I waited...and waited. No call back. They were about to close for the day so I called again. The receptionist said the Doc would call it in for me...but still nothing. Finally after calling again the next morning he called it in (thank you for that. It did help me a lot). Next step would be to make an appointment to get this tooth pulled so I go online to make that appointment. I show up at the office for said appointment and was told by the receptionist that when I made the appointment the program made me a "new" patient (meaning it scheduled me for another initial exam, not a tooth extraction). AND they couldn't pull my tooth because I needed to take premeds because of my artificial hip. I explained that I've been on antibiotics for a week but apparently that wasn't good enough, I need a big dose an hour before the procedure. That was Friday...Doc was supposed to call in this big dose for my Monday morning appointment. It's Sunday now...nothing was ever called in to my pharmacy. Their office is closed today...how am I supposed to take this premed an hour before my appointment????? So now we've wasted 2 appointments and nothing has gotten done! NOTHING!!! I won't be going to this appointment, OBVIOUSLY. And I won't be going back to this office. I really can't believe how unorganized and unprofessional this place is. SMH. read more

I'm 4 months pregnant and they refused to do a teeth cleaning without making me get an X-ray! I asked why they would require an X-ray for a teeth cleaning and they stated "that's just their way of practice". Absolutely ridiculous to force an unnecessary X-ray on anyone, let alone someone pregnant. read more

Ok here we go i paid money out of my pocket for dentures uppers.i paid for teeth no one can see to this day 12-27-2018 i am ask where my teeth are when i asked what happened they made my 2 front teeth longer WHO DOES THIS.they said if i pay 348 dollars they will fix my teeth.i stopped going there when they made no progress with even my bottom detures. Let me start off by saying I have a phobia of the Dentist. I was petrified to go in but I knew I put off seeing a dentist for far too long. October 24, 2018 I went in and had LaQuoya Watson as my Dental Hygienist. I told her, Marcus, the woman at the front desk (I'm sorry I forget her name) and Dr. Popa I was scared and they treated me with the utmost respect and went out of their way to accommodate my request to not know what was wrong with my teeth until after they were fixed. I have so much respect for everyone in the Brooklyn, Ohio Aspen Dental. Every individual I came into contact with in this office was outrageously kind and cheerful, you can tell everyone there LOVES their job. When I went back to have the dental work done, January 10, 2019, Vangie, Erin, Aleah took excellent care of me. I cannot say enough how much I appreciated all of them. Their kindness, understanding, and support made me feel so comfortable. Vangie, Erin, and Aleah, in addition to Dr. Popa went out of their way to ensure my dental experience was of the highest quality, and they certainly succeeded. I would HIGHLY recommend this dental office to anyone, and especially those with a true phobia of the dentist. I can say I was very disappointed with the service here. I had to come in due to a crown coming out. They charged me $75.00 and gave me a tube of fixodent. They told me when they put the crowns in they wouldn't come out and less then a year the whole post fell out. So very disappointed. After I paid over $2000 for crowns they wanted me to take out another loan for them to do dentures...Not a great place. read more

I had my wisdom teeth pulled and I was very, very, disappointed with the staff and services provided. The ladies that worked in front were very disrespectful, especially when I had to come in for my dry socket, talking about me and how I always had someone with me. Excuse me, I just had surgery and was prescribed 3 different pain meds, I couldn't drive. They were overall rude. I had went to an appointment in july to see what kind of work needed to be done and received a quote. The office manager Marcus attempted to get me to pay $2000 upfront before any work was completed. I explained to him that I would not be paying for anything until I decided to schedule and i seemed to get attitude from him. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to go to an appointment this past weekend to have some fillings done. I had new insurance (which had the same coverages as the insurance i had in july) so I was thinking they were going to ask for an insurance card. When I got called back by the office manager Marcus he sat me down at his desk and told me i owed $591. I explained to him that I had insurance and on there sign in board i indicated that I had insurance. He took my insurance card and told me it would just a few minutes for them to get my insurance break down. about 45 minutes later while still sitting in the waiting room my insurance was still not input into their system. When I went to the front desk to ask how much longer the wait was going to be the rude receptionist at the front desk wouldn't even look up from her computer screen and she responded in a nasty tone "we are putting your insurance in now" and kept typing. I sat back down and decided that I was going to leave as the office staff didn't make a good impression. 15 minutes later the office manager Marcus calls me up to the front desk to tell me that they verified my insurance and my balance was now $159. I asked him how many fillings were going to be done and he said 3. I asked him why the numbers he gave me now are different from the numbers he gave me in july and he just stated that is what my insurance covered. I figured maybe they would go over a treatment plan and quote again seeing as its a new insurance card but he didn't. He had a very cocky attitude and I feel as if they are just in it for the money and have horrible customer service skills. I chose to go to a different aspen location and its truly sad that when I call to make an appointment at the new office I have a employee ask about my experience and explain that she had felt the same way and had a similar experience when she went there. I went into your Brooklyn, OH office for my first visit for x-rays on a Saturday. I gave the staff my insurance card, which is the Federal Government Plan of Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I was told by the staff that they would call Anthem on Monday and find out my insurance information. A week goes by and I never hear from Aspen Dental. I decide to call and the lady asks me for my insurance information. Mind you I already gave Aspen Dental my insurance information. Even still, I gave the lady my insurance information and she tells me she will call me back by 5 pm that day or in the morning the next day. A week goes by and I never hear from Aspen Dental. I call Aspen a third time. I tell her I've been waiting on a call from Aspen on what they found out about my insurance so I can come in for my cleaning. The lady proceeds to put me on hold for 5 minutes. She finally came back and I ask her why I am being put on hold. She asks me for my insurance information again and she assures me it will be put into their system. I tell the lady I have given the information to Aspen twice, once a copy of my card and the other over the phone. I tell her I will go someplace else. Instead of the lady saying she will make this better, she says "ok" and hangs up. Awful business model. I will make sure to never go to Aspen Dental and I will also make sure everybody I know never goes to Aspen Dental. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any medical office. read more
