They remove the implant RISKING damaging bone graft in my gums and damaging the tooth it's hitting and possibly have to remove the other tooth 2. terrible!! terrible!! run!!!!!! this place is just awful! my husband had all of his teeth pulled at one time and they stitched him up and threw a temporary set of dentures in his mouth that he never coud wear because his gums were painful to the touch for over 2 weeks. i called the office and they said the gums were still healing and they will get better and for him to wear the dentures daily. he was still in excruciating pain over a month later. i called them back to make an appointment. they finally seen him and state that the reason he was in pain and the gums were not healing was because the surgeon left bone fragments in his jaw and they were stabbing his gums. they also told us that due to the amount of teeth that were removed the surgeon should have done the fragment removal at the same time as the teeth extractions. they scheduled him for a procedure to remove the fragments. this opened all the sutures on his gums from the original surgical procedure. finally after another 2 weeks, his gums were healing and they were able to fit him with another set of temporary dentures after the swelling subsided. about six months went by and they gave him his final dentures. over the next several months we went back several times to get them readjusted. everything was fine until the teeth started falling out the dentures. i took the set of dentures up there 2 times over the next several months to have the teeth set back in. well then i get a bill for over 1,000 even though i had already paid me complete balance off in full! (6,000) that was just our portion, the insurance paid close to (7,000). i went into the office to inquire about the bill and i was told by the finance department that we were charged for a second surgery (bone fragment). i explained to her that he only had one surgery and the second procedure was a fix that was only performed because of the negligance of the surgeon. she looked over the claim and stated that she would take care of the adjustment and we did not owe any additional money. fast forward to over a year later, my husband's teeth started falling out of the detures again. 4 total! i called the office to make an appointment to have his dentures repaired but i was told that he still has a balance of over 1,000 on his account so they cannot schedule him an appointment until that is paid. i explained to her about the past convo that i had with billing over a year ago. she placed me on hold to investigate and she came back and state sthat they will have to look into the situation. i told her that we have had nothing but complaints with aspen dental since we first came. i asked for the customer service number and i was tod that she could give it to me but they are not gonna do anything about it. they will just dirct me back to their store! wow! i said so basically aspen dental does not give a rats ass about their customer service issues and their product is shit!!! they do not care! read more

I had an appointment scheduled with Aspen for a routine check up in May of 2024 I believe. On my appointment day I was told I was unable to be seen due to being pregnant. Which is upsetting as I had mentioned this info to initial scheduler when I scheduled appointment. But I understood this policy. Today, nearly a year later I got an email advising I have a balance as claims to my insurance plan had rejected. This was concerning as I was not seen back in 2024 at all. I was able to call the billing office and have this issue sorted out but I do not understand how my insurance was billed for an exam and xray I never got. And I am discouraged this is the first I have even heard I have any type of balance as this appointment was scheduled way back in May 2024. This could have been resolved instead of overlooked. Writing this review since unfortunately it seems things are missed by this office making the brief experience frustrating. Not only did I have to reschedule multiple times due to their inadequacy double booking appointments but when I did arrive at my appointment, I had to wait 2 hours. I had to wait over an hour for Dr. Albi to start my procedure. During this time, the assistant Christina kept coming in to check on me. She was very sweet and kept apologizing for the long wait. I scheduled an appointment for 4:30. They called me at 3:15 and asked if I could come in earlier, so I did. I arrived at 3:45, which did not matter because I was not taken back until 5:00. They did x-rays and I was seen by the dentist, all which took about 10 minutes, however with the waiting time in the back it was now 6:00. They were closing and according to them "they didn't want me to wait any longer" so they took me out of the chair and had me make another appointment to see the hygienist. Ridiculous to wait for 2 hours and not even get a cleaning after all that. read more

That's over an hour and a half in the waiting room without being acknowledged. Once seen we were scheduled for a simple extraction, which is listed online as $163. I was told to put my teeth in 45 mins later and they didn't fit so we went back and they tried to fix them they wouldn't fit !!! I have been in pain for about a week in a half. I'm looking online for emergency dentist that do same day work and come across Aspen Dental. I show up to my appointees and I'm there for 2 in a half hours for them not to do anything to ease the pain but they poked around in my mouth causing more pain and only told me what i need to get fixed and then to remove 2 teeth and do 3 root canals they wanted to charge me almost $8000 and didn't do in house payment plans. The snarky finance lady looked at me so disgusted as if I'm supposed to just have $8000 sitting around. I found a dentist the next day that was way nicer and did everything for a way better price. This Is my second review. My first visit resulted in a glowing review with gone service from both the dentist and the hygienist. During my first visit the hygienist advised that she had made a mistake on my bill and listed some items twice. The business manager said that they would correct. Instead I got an additional bill after the insurance had settled. Made two calls to the office. Both times, I was told the business manager was not available and would call me back. No call either time. Since I had a second appointment scheduled, I decided I would address it then. My Second appointment was scheduled for 2:30 PM. I arrived and checked in at 2:20. At 3:35, I was advised that the hygienist/dentist would not be able to see me for at least another 30 minutes. I was also advised that the business manager was also no immediately available. As I had an eye appointment scheduled for 4:30, I was not able to stay. Arrived for eye appointment 20 minutes early. Immediately seen. Eye appointment went well. I wrestled with a rating of 3 or 4 but felt that 3 was unfair since the actual dentist and dental staff was awesome given my reservations and anxiety. I was referred to Aspen by my mother who wanted to me to complete some long overdue and VERY needed dental work. I have EXTREME dental anxiety and past dental experiences made me more than leery of dentists and dental offices. After deciding to go through with the procedure, Dr. Yellisetti and all of the dental hygienists were awesome. They were calming and never once shamed or embarrassed me. The only issues I had was billing. The procedure was paid for up front and out of pocket. However, I was apparently billed incorrectly. Long story short after months of questions and 3 different office managers, it was resolved. Special thanks to Tori. She stayed professional, kind and understanding through my ranting and frustration (which had NOTHING to do with her) and resolved the situation within minutes. Had it not been for Tori I would not have been able to provide a review, which would be unfair because they do have an excellent and courteous staff...but PLEASE don't play with my money or credit rating! read more

I schedule an appointment on a Monday afternoon for a 0730 (first appt) on a Wednesday for a chipped tooth. Only to show up to an appt that doesn't exist. That's odd, how did it get canceled? "We called you to confirm your appt"...mm no you didn't. "Well there should have been a call or text to confirm the appt within 24 hrs"...mm still a no. "Let me check into my bag of tricks, oh, an email was sent to you for you to call us the day after you scheduled an appt to confirm your appt for the following day". -_- Make sure you monitor your email, double check your junk folder, and then call Aspen dental if you want to use their service. After they screwed up 3 appointments for my wife after confirming each one it was time to realize if this was the way things were starting it was already time to go elsewhere. It is also virtually impossible to contact the office directly. Calls go to a central location so a 3rd party is mediating your service. Service yes if you know it's definition. Before even greeting me or introducing herself the (ONE AND ONLY) dental hygienist proceeded to talk to the assistant on her opinion of homosexuals and how "they're always up in everyone's business" without any regard for the people that were around and their sexual orientation. (Kudos for the very nice assistant who did a great job with X-rays annnnd attempts to clean up/shut that conversation down). Ha! And the billing lady,Michelle, don't try to tell her you don't want the $130 toothbrush she gets a bit upset over that... 6 years in customer service clearly hasn't been worth more than the tartar on my teeth. Aspen dental is in for what you can pay instead of the patients well being. All I need is a filling done but instead they want me to get a crown for both back teeth. To see them again I have to get a 2nd exam since he did not write anything about the filling which he stated he could do. Which my insurance will not pay for. I feel this clinic want do a simple inexpensive filling since its not enough money in it for them. So before you go to them, if you're on a budget and do not have a good insurance, check your options. Either way you're going to be screwed since this is the American way of life. I called this place yesterday because I had a hole appear in a molar and I was suddenly in a lot of pain and concerned about infection. An emergency situation. I relayed this to the lady who answered their phones only to have her completely ignore that. She put me on hold and came back with she got me an appointment for the 9th of august... which is 10 days away... at a location on the other side of the city from me. For an emergency situation that may require antibiotics. I repeated that this was an emergency and she just continued on her pre-programmed speech and never one thought to stop and speak to me like I'm an actual human being. I told her that appointment would be of no use to me and she scheduled it anyways saying that I was now on their "cancellation list" just in case I could get one sooner. Lady, that's not how emergencies work, especially when there's a possibility of infection. She never once paid attention to my actual problem and how urgent it was and I was stuck calling around elsewhere. I will never call Aspen again even though I've been there before, and I'm telling everyone that asks me why NOT to bother calling them. Go literally anywhere else. read more

My son had his check up here and then the dental work they suggested. Just fillings were recommended and were completed in a couple appointments. I found the staff helpful, friendly and efficient. They were great at explaining the bill and filing the insurance. After the insurance paid its part I was actually due a refund which they processed very quickly. read more

I am a new patient to Aspen after recently relocating to Columbia. I was interested in trying corporate dental after using private dentists prior to moving. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience. It was easy to book an appointment at the location of my choice, my first visit (x-rays included) was free of charge, and the dentist and hygienist each met with me to discuss planned treatment. I was seen on-time, and each of the employees was very professional. Dr. Yelisetty (sp) and the hygienist Janae were both very detailed and friendly. My experience with Aspen Dental was trash! The first thing that rubbed me the wrong way was when they called the day prior to my appt stating that if I didn't call back by 4pm to confirm they would cancel and I would have to reschedule. Second thing, I arrived early to fill out my paperwork due to being a new patient and they kept asking for my insurance card (which I don't have bc my insurance company doesn't issue one) but I had already provided them the necessary information over the phone. Once I'm called to the back I get my x-rays am seated in the the chair to receive my cleaning (or so I thought). I wait for about 30-45 mins for the dental hygienist. Once she's done I wait another 20-30 mins for the dentist who then tells me I have to wait to talk to the office manager. I speak with the office manager about everything I need done and my payment options. I was offered to finance through a "third party lender" which confused me. I was told all services had to be paid in full before being rendered. Long story short on the payment plan there was no budging and I felt the office manager was not helpful and seemed to get an attitude with me because I asked questions to gain a better understanding of what I was being told. I will not be returning to Aspen Dental ever and will be finding another new dentist. read more

Wow I wish I had read the reviews before visiting the fine folks at Assssssspen dental a few months ago. The whole experience after the first exam was horrible. I had a broken wisdom tooth where i just needed a small extraction had the extraction done and was put on antibiots. My gums were swollen because of infection. 2nd visit- Told the dentist Dr. Yelli... my jaw and face was starting to swell and suffering extreme pain. I found a small portion of my gums above the extraction had a small section that felt like bone was coming threw, but the Dr. put his finger *with gloves* right on the spot i directed him too he felt it and said "that's normal" and "it doesn't make sense that I'm still feeling pain", It was a simple extraction."3rd visit- almost non stop throbbing pain in my left side portion of my jaw,face,throat, and neck. Was told again there was no infection, but "your gums are red and swollen" then "It's probrobly because i haven't had a cleaning" Then he was gave me a referral to Midlands Oral and Maxiofacial Surgery delivering it with an energy of get the F* outta here then was told he can't refill my antibiotics, but offered my a $800.00 dollar cleaning because a reg. cleaning wouldn't work for me mind you i smoke, i brush and this is my first major dental issue no cavities or I'm even still have 3 of my 4 wisdoms. I went to my maxiofacial surgeon after i mentioned the spot were i felt it may be bone he found it after 30 secs of looking had the surgery and that's a story for another day oh and I had and appointment for 7:15 in the morning when i got the extraction they stayed in the back till 8:00 talking thanks guys from the rude dental aid, the oblivious girl at the counter the billing lady was nice lol oh it's so much i forgot when i got fed up i asked for my x-rays and was asked "Do I need them right this sec." I am over seventy five years old. Have visited many dental facilities for dental fixes and many of my teeth are still natural. On 6 Feb 2017 I went to the Aspen Dental office near Harbinson and was cheerfully greeted by Jessica. She promptly had me see Dr Yelisetty. The X-ray technician was professional and very nice. Then I saw Dr Yelisetty and he showed me X-rays on a screen and explained in detail the problem and three cures. He offered the least invasive treatment and other options. I had such confidence in the Doctor and was happy to use option 1. This morning I had a pain free breakfast this morning and will continue with his treatment plan. This place was unclean! They refused to sanitize their equipment, seats, and their Ipads; despite me alerting them to the fact that I care for two ppl in their 80s! Instead of showing that they cared about making a clean, and ensuring a sanitized environment, they asked me to leave and even eluded to threatening me with the police! They called ME problematic, and being a fellow American, the manager couldn't pronounce the word problematic. She only knew the word LEAVE, while hinting at THE EASY WORD....COPS! Nevermind that I waited 2 hours b4 being called back for X-rays! There was a coughing and very hoarse employee who wore her mask half-mast the entire time! Receptionist took the guy in front me touching everything he touched, then took my DL and didn't sanitize NOTHING! Just handed it back! (I sanitized it myself!) Not the receptionist area, chairs, desks, or NOTHING was sanitized! If you want HERD IMMUNITY, go to Aspen on Harbison. If you want to be SAFE from Corona, RUN elsewhere for some REALl care! After getting extractions and a partial plate, this office tried to keep from doing any adjustments to the partial. After the swelling went down, the partial was cutting my tongue and digging into my gums among other issues. The Harbison office wanted me to wait for two weeks to get an adjustment done. The person who answered the phone was rude and had an attitude when I said that adjustments were included in the price. I walked into the Lexington, SC Aspen office, and upon explaining the situation to them, they said they could try and fit me in. I have transferred to that office now. read more

Horrible experience! After waiting nearly an hour to be called , I was taken back for Xrays. I was examined by a hygienist who told me I had bone loss and treatment to prevent further bone loss. I was then examined by the dentist. Mind you, all I wanted was a cleaning and exam. I'd been in the military for 8 years so I had cleaning and exams every 6 months with never a recommendation for this type of treatment. I was then told by the "treatment coordinator " that my payment after insurance would be $944. I said no thank you, I only want cleaning. I was told we can only offer what's recommended. I scheduled an appt a month before the actual date because I needed it to be on my spring break. I checked in and they said I was not on the schedule. They said they could fit me in for my cleaning anyway. Great! The hygienist takes me back and starts to prepare me for xrays, I tell her I cannot have them done becausei was pregnant. She asked me if I told the receptionist. No I did not because she never asked. I got the harshest cleaning I have ever had, she was so rough I actually had a headache from the pain. never once did I see an actual dentist or have my teeth checked. Also, I checked yes I had a change in insurance and they never asked me about it. I had to ask them to update that information. I already had my new patient exam, so I wanted to schedule a follow up for a cleaning, due to a cleaning is not in a new patient exam. When I called to schedule a cleaning, the receptionist thought I was coming in for a gum treatment and I responded no, I do not want to get the service done, I just want a simple cleaning. Then she had the audacity to tell me, that they are unable to perform a cleaning on my teeth due to I was not getting the other service recommended to me. First of all I have never been to a dentist that stated I needed gum treatment. Second of all I am not paying over $700 for a gum treatment because of course my insurance does not cover it and I have great dental insurance. Third how are you going to deny the services I want. I called for an appointment for a basic cleaning and to have a tooth looked at. I was told that they only provided deep cleanings because it wasn't fair to my insurance company to do a basic one. So I asked if my insurance co. paid for a deep cleaning, and was told that it would not. I asked why then is it not fair to my ins co. if I am paying for it anyway. All I got was some BS explanation. Then she told me that I would have to physically go to the office before my appointment and pay half of the bill for my other tooth. I asked her how they knew what I needed done before I even had my appointment, and she couldn't explain that very well either. I told her that I would find another provider who could explain things better and didn't require a special trip to pay them before the service was even provided! I scheduled an appointment, attended the appointment, called back to schedule my extraction the next day & could not get anyone 2 answer-left a couple messages, called a few more times, then sent someone to schedule my appointment with all my info & the type of appointment I needed-they still got it wrong so I called several more times with no response. I called one last time to find that I could schedule a new patient appt-I explained to the young lady that I had already been seen but couldn't get the office to respond. She put me on hold and called the office-no response-so she said she'd schedule my appointment & let them know what it was for-I then get an email confirmation request so I confirm the appointment. The day before the appointment I get a call from the office to get insurance info etc. & am informed it is a new patient appointment. I patiently explained the situation-keep in mind this all happened over a 2wk period-yet they didn't know I had just been there even after I explained. I was told they would call me back which they did & scheduled my appointment the same day in the afternoon. I decided to cancel because: I wasnt given any prep info, I don't trust that they are actually prepared, I'm also concerned that this tooth possibly shouldn't be removed as a regular extraction, this isn't the first time this happened at another Aspen location in SC which is why I tried the Columbia SC location. Mistakes happen but I cannot trust repeated issues at more than one location of a chain. Side note: I didn't care for their approach to sell their $135 toothbrush. They add it to the price of a deep cleaning & I got the impression of I didn't ask I wouldn't have been told why the cleaning was so expensive with insurance. read more
