Terrible dentist. Had a crown put in and twice it was the wrong size. Eventually he fit the third in and it was too tall. Its now crooked and has caused pain in the tooth behind it. I won't be going back. read more

I was able to get an appointment a.s.a.p. for an infected tooth. They gave me an antibiotic and I was able to schedule for a follow up appointment within a reasonable amount of time. They treated me with respect and were honest about my tooth issues, without attempting to promise unreasonable, costly treatments. read more

6 months ago, I had my exam and cleaning. I wasn't so happy that it was 2 separate appointments, but sometimes places have different protocols, so I went with it. Yesterday I had a cleaning and today a whitening. Best service I've ever had from a dentist. The staff was super nice and gave me the best care I feel I needed. They offered good advice and gave great aftercare instructions. I don't have any complaints. read more

My initial visit was excellent, however things went downhill from there. I am disgusted, disappointed, frustrated and feel I have been taken advantage of. I was under the impression that the fee I was initially quoted was for the repair and placement of crowns on THREE teeth, when in fact it was only for two. I PAID THE BILL IN FULL AT THE INITIAL VISIT. This is a VERY IMPORTANT FACTOR IN MY STORY. After several appointments to "build up" the two most severely damaged teeth, impressions were made and I was assured that the crowns would be ready for placement in a week to 10 days. What I DID NOT KNOW IS THAT THE CROWNS WERE NOT BEING MADE HERE IN THE US. There have been countless delays, promises that the crowns "should be on today's or tomorrow's UPS truck" BUT NO CROWNS HAVE APPEARED. Yesterday I was told that "an email had been sent" inquiring about the status. I work overnights, and it wasn't until I had a good days sleep that I wondered WHY SEND AN EMAIL? WHY NOT CALL? BECAUSE THEY AREN'T IN THE US! So after work this morning I called Aspen and was told that they received an email assuring them that the crowns would be done NEXT WEEK-A MONTH FROM WHEN THEY WERE ORDERED! When I asked why this has taken so long, I was told THE LAB IS NOT IN THE US, AND THEY'D BEEN HAVING "SOME DIFFICULTY" WITH THAT LAB. YET ASPEN HAD NO DIFFICULTY IN TAKING MY MONEY, AND NOT PRODUCING THE CROWNS I HAD PAID FOR. Obviously the "difficulty" they had "been having with that lab" impacted their profit margin in a positive manner, so they continued using the lab that was so unsatisfactory, negatively impacting their patient base. At least I have the satisfaction that I did not pay for the work on the third tooth, which, obviously, I WILL NOT have repaired at this or any other ASPEN DENTAL office. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE THAT I WILL EVER SEE THE CROWNS I PAID FOR, AND AM AWAITING A CALL FROM MY ATTORNEY ON HOW BEST TO PROCEED. I will NEVER have anything to do with ASPEN DENTAL again, and I advise you to use my horrendous experience as a cautionary tale. Go elsewhere! And I'm certain this review will be taken down, but I will continue LOUDLY proclaiming exactly how ASPEN DENTAL does business! read more

Be aware of Aspen! They told me major things were wrong with my teeth so I got a second opinion. I only had one cavity and didn't need crowns and a root canal! Aspen is overcharging by three times what your local dentist charges! Ridiculous! Watch out for their special tooth gels and rinse. They charged me $60.00 for gel and a rinse! Come on!!! Said they gave it to me and then I found it on my bill!!! Be aware!!! read more

Not my fav place to go to begin with. In addition to now liking trips to the dentist - every time I went here (ok only twice) there was a different dentist. I like getting to know my dentist and that would have been hard if they kept changing. They also didn't try very hard not to hurt while cleaning my teeth. They also told me I had gum disease, which I have since learned wasn't true! And they typically get the insurance end of things messed up and I always end up having to take care of that too. The place is clean - the wait isn't too bad - staff seems friendly enough, but they lack my competency approval and therefore I no longer go here and don't recommend it. Unless of course you need bridge work or dentures - but I'd still find a different place. read more

Send your worst enemy here! They told my wife she need to buy a special electric tooth brush and she also need this special toothpaste this cost $300. (Could have bought at Walmart for 1/3 the price.) A few days later I went in for my appt. and they tried to sell me the same thing. then after doing thousands of dollars in in dental wok by a in network dentist (for my insurance) They submitted the claims under a different dentist who not only have i never even met, he was not in network. My insurance refused to pay for the majority of the work. I called Aspen they told me they would take care of it. a few months later I started receiving collections notices!!!! This ordeal has taken over a year to straighten out. I would never step foot in an aspen dental again. read more

wanted an exam and a cleaning, staff tried to force procedures that I didn't need and my insurance will not cover. Asked why they couldn't do a cleaning and was told that they could only do the more expensive procedure my insurance wouldn't cover but they would be more than happy to finance. I felt like i was at a sleazy used car lot. went for a cleaning and was told I needed 1300.00 in work. but don't worry my insurance would cover all but 500 of it... read more

Went looking to get just a veneer fixed, they do full xrays dentist comes in and here we go again, you need this that and the other thing! I'm the patient, I say what you do and don't do, the spiel about I have to do this first then this gets old fast! Scheduled a Cleaning and exam for my daughter who has been out of the country and will be in town for a very short period of time. Got a call telling me that they can only schedule an exam and not a cleaning - that she would have to come back for a cleaning. Regardless of how many times I tried to explain her tight schedule and the fact that she's been out of the country for a year and really needs her teeth cleaned, receptionist did not care. Was very happy to cancel her appointment rather than try to accommodate us. Now all of the low reviews make total sense. Even read them before I scheduled this appointment. But thought, "it's just a cleaning." BIG FAT WASTE OF TIME. read more

Went a local dentist after going to Aspen..thank God! The fillings they "had to replace" work done in Dunkirk was the only problems I had with my teeth! Very frustrating and disappointing!! Cost me more to have my teeth fixed the right way! I will never suggest anyone to Aspen dental. read more

I went in the other day looking to get a regular cleaning. Come to find out my old dentist didn't treatment plan my gums properly so I was start to have bone loss. Thankfully they went over everything and were able to start me the same day! I got sent home with some take home products for after care of the treatment that was done and Cate was so great the entire time checking to make sure I was comfortable. Terrible experience. Charged me twice to fix a broken tooth on my partial within a week. Office manager was rude. Pushing new partial on me. Local dentist told me there was no reason for a new partial. And ended up just fixing my current one for half the price. Do not go here. Constant staff changes. I feel like I totally wasted my time there. The appointment took over 2 hours to get xrays and an exam. On the website they have you believing that they will help you find a way to pay financially but this just isn't true. When I asked to cut back on the amount of dental work to get closer to an affordable price they cut $10k down to $5,550 ... the monthly payments were more than double what I could afford to pay on my disability (which is why I can't afford dental in the first place) and then when I asked if I could just fix my broken tooth the price only dropped $100. I just cannot afford to pay $200 a month for 2+ years just to save 1 tooth and in all reality the rest of my teeth would rot while I was paying off that tooth. If I could afford that price I could afford dental insurance! read more

I have been looking for a dentist that accepted my insurance. I was nervous about going to Aspen Dental. I want to say to anyone that might hesitate about going to Aspen Dental in Dunkirk, shouldn't. They have a wonderful, friendly staff that treats their customers like family. They are reasonable; especially with insurance!! I have been to many dentists through the years, but Dr. Michel is one of the most gentle, pleasant, and excellent dentists I've been to. I am a very happy customer!! read more

I've not had one good experience there. I drove 45 minutes today to be told they weren't seeing anyone, and that they called everyone this morning. Then the receptionist got snotty when I said that I had not received a call or had a voicemail (because she insisted she left one). This is the second time something like this has happened. I give 2 stars only because the dentists and hygienists are pretty great, if you can get by the incredibly incompetent office staff and actually be seen in a timely manner. read more
