Said my insurance covered then they came back with the whole bill and added it to what I had already financed

I am not sure if all Aspen Dental offices are run the same way, but this location in completely untrustworthy. Multiple issues occurred when I was treated at the Aspen Dental Hamilton OH. To begin with the dentist misread a xray. not until I had to demand my pain being addressed did they schedule me for another visit, This time it was a dentist from another office and that dentist determined I had another tooth that was causing the pain. This also affected my next appointment for extractions and partial denture.. During that visit I asked/ confirmed and expressed my concern that my treatment plan would change, even the visiting dentist said it was a good thing I came in not just because of the pain, but also to ensure the partial would be made correctly, I was even told what the difference in cost would be. Needless to say no one followed through, and the partial was not done correctly. On the day of the extraction, the dentist was very blasé, and just continued to basically blame the other dentist. Regardless of what staff member(s) dropped the ball is not the point. After my teeth were extracted, I was advised that the partial was not correct and they had to make another impression, which entailed them having to put the compound in my mouth right after I had my teeth pulled. I was apprehensive because there were particles left in my mouth when they had done this originally, and I was worried that it would get into my open wound. Also, in the written care instructions, it stated after the dental procedure to put the partial in your mouth and do not take it out for 24 hours, but that no longer applied since they made a mistake. There were so many lies ranging from the accuracy of appointment times, how long it takes to make a partial denture, obtaining X-rays, to charging .30 on my credit card that Heidi said it would not be charged. It was not about the .30, it was just another lie. When I came back to the office hours after my extractions I picked up the "Modified" partial, my mouth was incredibly sore and the Novocain had pretty much completely wore off, I did not want to have another person push and poking in my mouth. Also, when I was leaving the dentist mentioned a discount, not on the extractions but for the partial. I would like a response to my issues and the discount, and how soon that will be credited to my HSA account. read more

I went in with a very loose tooth and I needed help getting it out. They have a huge sign on their front door that says emergency and walking welcome. When I went in they said they couldn't help me! I will NEVER go in there again! read more

I have been trying to contact Aspen dental for lower denture work and I cannot get them to call/email me back. I had upper denture work done in February 2020 and everything went so well and I wanted use them again for my lower denture workure work. I emailed the person I was in communication with back in 2020 and all was good. I found out she was no longer an office manager but she was the regional manager now. She still helped me schedule an appointment but day of I received a voicemail saying they couldnt proceed with the appointment and Id either need to come in or reschedule. I couldnt go in earlier so I have tried for over a month to get back in and I can't get any response. read more

Aspen Dental at BridgeWater falls is nothing but a scam!!! I went there for a problem they suggested a root canal I decided to have the tooth pulled because I was having so many problems with that tooth anyway, they suggested a cleaning which is understandable since it's been 3 yrs since I had one ok that's fine, but when they said my insurance ( Humana) was opulent cover it because I haven't had a cleaning every year and the insurance offers it that I will have to pay $545‍ what are you serious !! It's been a month since that's happened so today I called my instant ask the about it and they said " ma'mm that's not true you have a 100% coverage up to $3000 a yr dental they lied to you!!! If I could give this dentist office negative stars I would. Absolutely terrible service, hardly ever answer the phone and never return phone calls when messages are left. This office forgot to send away my molds so I had to wait weeks extra to get my bridge put in. And to top it all off after they told me my insurance would cover most of the procedure I received a bill in the mail after everything was said and done for thousands of dollars and was informed my insurance ended up not paying for anything. The whole office is pathetic and unprofessional. The office manager has no professionalism at all. As a patient I popped in to inquire about services and overheard the manager talking about one of the employees personal business. This type of behavior is not good business practices. Making negative comments about an employees situation to another employee is workplace harassment, but creates a hostile work environment. This office has no standards and this is definitely not a place of good character. This manager should be fired and out of respect for the employee I will note mention what I heard. This is definitely going to be reported to corporate regardless of who owns this office. Treating employees in this manner is extremely UNETHICAL. PLease be mindful of whom your speaking about, because you never know who may pop in. I have associates who have been patients and have heard some unpleasant conversations amongst management with employees. Definitely need to be investigated and re hire a new team of professionals who respect others. This office is a disgrace. I guess they're always busy and really don't require the money that I have in my pocket. And just don't have time. Customer service sets the tone for the company. Made and appointment at Aspin dental in Tilton New Hampshire and was given a appointment for 2:00 pm but when I got there I was told they go to lunch from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm so wait time. Took x-rays and a Dentist did and eval and need 7 teeth removed but no dental insurance they put me through this Fortiva dental loan and was given $5000.00 loan but the price to remove the 7 teeth was 4.800.00 and last year from a different dentist was $1.500.00. I think Aspin Dental is set up with this Fortiva and is a rip off as a different dentist I talked to said they never heard of Fortiva. I see average price in New Hampshire to extract a tooth is $300.00 so $4.800.00 is robbery for 7 teeth to be removed. I have canceled the $5000.00 loan and have canceled my appointment with Aspin dental to have the teeth removed. First time visit to Aspin Dental is supposed to be free, but they added that in. Will not have anything to do with Aspin dental ever again. Remove teeth and cheaper upper dentures was given price of $11000.00 NO WAY. Dave D. I called the office and asked if they took Caresauce insurance and was told yes. I made an appointment for my grandson we went there today. We sat for 35 minutes so I went to the desk and asked if I needed to fill out any forms and I gave them his Caresauce card and was then told that they didn't take Caresauce insurance. Dog shit piece of trash dental service, waited an hour for somebody to change my dental insurance policy and after that, proceeded to ask me for 250$ upfront to fill cavities? Said they were incapable of billing me? Is that a thing ???? The female Dentist left exposed bone where she tore the gum away ( half an inch long and a quarter inch away from the gum) its not dry socket its along the side. she kept taking breaks and I had to stop her when I was no longer numb and could feel what she was doing in took me several times for her to stop and have her redo it . She had to re numb me 4 times for my upper teeth and 5 for the lower and it was because she kept taking breaks for whatever her reasons., My Personal opinion is she was not practiced enough to extract teeth that still were fairly attached to the gum but were still going bad she was extremely rough and abused my mouth when she didn't have to She was supposed only scedule me from 12:00 on and kept taking patients as well . It took her 3 and a half hours when it didn't have to. If she hadn't done What she did my gums wouldn't be in the shape they are and I wouldn't be in this much discomfort and pain. I've had teeth pulled before. So for her to leave the one spot like that and not get my pain prescription taken care of properly on the day of the extraction was inexcusable.! I will never go to that office again and I'm ready to go public with my experience! This was the Springdale office and this was Saturday October 22nd. THE dentist damaged the nerves in my mouth so badly during wisdom teeth removal, I still have no feeling in the left side of my tongue or lower left quadrant of my mouth. I don't know what medication they used to numb me, but I started vomiting blood as well. I went back, terrified the next day. The doctor was completely dismissive of my concerns, even when I told him I had been vomiting every 15 minutes. I vomited 3 times in their bathroom and I know staff and customers heard my distress. Someone should have called an ambulance. I walked outside, continued to vomit in broad daylight in the parking lot, then went to the emergency room. They admitted me for 4 days. I limped out of the hospital weighing 93 pounds, lucky to be alive. These people are butchers and devoid of all empathy. Stay away! read more

Update to my issues with Aspen Dental, now i went there last month and i got two teeth pulled, my teeth cleaned and a crown put it now all at once but over the course of the month. The crown and cleaning where very good but the two teeth i had pulled and the strange issues with paying them where nuts. First the issues with paying them, i was quoted 1800 then with there help it came down to 1300 BUT the company that told me this gave me 1400. So i came across another card and applied that bill was suppose to be 800ish but nothing changed. Now for the teeth the doctor for whatever reason was very rough period. On top of that he told me something that i could not believe "oh the rest of the tooth will fall out some day". Well it did but i kept getting pain in my jaw there and now i think there is two pieces of teeth in my gums now. I'm not in a good mood and i advice you stay away from that branch of dental. The hygienist seemed thorough and informative, I don't recall her name. Nothing stood out about the dentist. However the front staff can make or break your experience and after a year and a half I'm going elsewhere. On two visits I felt like the desk staff were rude and condescending which I wondered if they were getting a lot of deadbeat patients or something to make them be like that and chose to not take it personally. Then at my last visit I was told "oh we just tried to call you haha " to cancel my appointment. I was upset after receiving bad news that morning about my dad and rushed off to make this appointment only to be told the hygienist was out. At any other place I'm sure they would have other staff to prevent cancelled appointments but whatever. To me it was the "oh well" attitude that upset me more. read more

There is so much to talk about, I cant even decide where to start....They got it all wrong...Ill begin by saying the customer service is nothing short of horrendous. They absolutely NEVER answer the phone. Never....You have to leave a voicemail and hope that someone calls you back in a few days. Which absolutely never happens so good luck trying to schedule an appointment. I was initially told that they would take my insurance by two different individuals. When I arrived, they informed me that they "literally just stopped taking my policy". (How convenient) So I either had to pay out of pocket $2200 or I could go home with the intense pain that I had been in for several months now. I chose to pay out of pocket although I was not happy that I was lied to about my insurance policy being accepted. I first went in for a root canal that would be followed up with a crown. The root canal went fine, once I got into the room. Again, the process leading up to getting in the room was an absolute mess. They had absolutely no clue how to operate their in house system nor could they figure out how to apply a cash payment to my account. It took over an hour just to get seated for the root canal. Again, the root canal went well. In fact, the only nice thing I have to say about this location is that the main dentist, (Dr Kireru) is a phenomenal man. He treated me very well, he explained everything that he was doing and did so without error. Back to the way they run this office.....they definitely work on a quantity over quality type of schedule. Meaning they schedule 12 appointments for the same time and have the assistants do most of the prep work and then you have to wait for what seems like forever for the dentist to hop from room to room and finally get to you. I find this to be quite irritating as several people came in after me but were seen before me since my procedure was going to take longer than theirs. It just made me feel like my time was not valued. Lets jump to my next appointment where I came in to have the crown placed where the root canal was done. Again, it took quite some time to get me in the room. If I am scheduled for 8:00, I expect to be started by 8:00 or a reasonable time after, not 9:30. The assistant was tasked with installing my crown. On her first attempt, she dropped it on the ground. She then picked it back up and put it straight into my mouth without cleaning it off. I asked her to clean it and she gave me an attitude like I was asking for too much. She cleaned it off and proceeded to install the crown. Once this was complete, I went ahead and scheduled the other root canal and crown that I needed. I wasn't too keen on coming back to this location but I was in so much pain that I decided to just bite the bullet and get it done and over with. The root canal for my other tooth was scheduled to take place last Monday at 8:00AM. They asked that I arrive at least 15 minutes earlier. I did just that, I arrived at 7:45 and waited. I thought it was weird that nobody including the staff was there yet as the office opens at 7:30 but I still waited. At 8:00 I started calling the office as I am standing in front but got no answer. I waited until 8:30 and figured they just weren't going to show up. I left a voicemail explaining that I had been waiting and that nobody ever showed up and for someone to call me back to reschedule. They never called me back, which seems to be a theme for this location. Instead, I called them back the following day and they said they started sharing their dentist with another office so they are going to only be open half of the week. They provided no explanation as to why they didnt reach out to cancel or reschedule my appointment. Again, my time was not valued to them and their team. I did finally get back into their office for the root canal a few days ago that ended up needing to be extracted. The extraction was tough but we got through it. They cut the corner of my mouth pretty badly and that's been just as painful to deal with as the pain from the extraction. At the end of the day, this location is interested in nothing more than your money. They have no regard for your time or what is really best for you. They are constantly rushing every time I am in the office. They seem to have an adequate number of staff but still cant seem to keep up. They sent me a text message today asking me to call in to setup my appointment and pay my deposit. I have nothing to call and setup and they have actually already over charged me for the extraction so I dont owe a deposit on anything either. They said they would credit me the $800 they over charged me on my next visit but I will not be visiting them again so I am working to get that refunded. I would definitely not recommend visiting this location. You simply will not get the care you are looking for or need. They will waste a great deal of your time and overcharge you quite a bit. I'm not the kind of person that pay's attention to most issues but that office has left me with very mixed experience. First the good 1) the staff expect for one dentist was very thoughtful. 2) they answered my questions when asked 3) the woman who cleaned my teeth did a very good job. 4) The second dentist was very carefully about where went what so as not too damage anything. Now the bad, lets start with the India decent was very forcefully applying the numbing agent. Also very forcefully getting the two teeth out, with that said i don't think that normal. Second im still in pain although it has went down 50% not sure. Third while the front desk was very helpfully getting me setup with credit and answer questions they did not help in the area of final cost. See I owed 1400ish well what they told me it would be 700ish nope the credit company said i owed the fully balance. Now there is a issue there i had a deduction of 500 ok that would leave me looking at 900ish so im still missing 200 so right now i have no idea what the final cost will be. I went to Aspen Dental in Hamilton Oh,I received a quote of almost 4000.00.I went and secured my own financing and called back to get my procedure scheduled.I have to say I was treated so rude on the phone,I thought about going somewhere else.After a few days of thinking it over,I didn't want to start the whole process over.So I called to set an appointment and was put on hold for 5 min and then the girl came back and when I told her I wanted to schedule an appointment,it was just as bad.Very Rude.Oh well my money spends anywhere.I wont go back there and would recommend nobody does!! Came in to get my two front teeth fixed. Minor chips. Needed bonding done which I have had before. The dentist I believe was dr maxwell (the African american gentleman) at this location. He initially marked my teeth with a sharpey marker? Seemed really odd. Then my visit to fix my teeth felt very rushed and when I expressed my concern of what didn't look right/ what was wrong he seemed very annoyed. He helped shape them a little better and got up and left the room before I was done looking the mirror. but I showed him what my teeth looked like prior and have had bonding done a few years ago and I'm not happy with my results at all. Paying almost $500 for my teeth, you'd think the person fixing my teeth would make sure I was satisfied and didn't rush through working on my teeth without a care in the world. Still very gritty feeing and the bonding goes all the way up the back of my teeth and I can feel the cut off between my real teeth and the bonding. Very frustrated and don't know what to do... its a lot of money to let something like this go. And I just want it done correctly and by a dentist that cares.... I tried them because my dental insurance policy listed them. After cleaning and recommended procedures and equipment purchases, think I'd racked up a couple of thousand in costs. They found "6 cavities" and scheduled a couple more appointments. I had to get emergency wisdom teeth removal and since every oral surgeon has been shut down for a few weeks, offices were backed up and couldn't take me. Over the phone I was told this office would take me in and remove me wisdom teeth (even though they are not oral surgeons). I drove an hour to have my teeth looked at for 10 seconds and for the doctor to say he would be "right back" because he needed to see when he could work on my teeth, promising it could be done that day. I was left to sit in the back for 40 minutes without anyone talking to me only to have the office manager come back and say they couldn't remove my teeth that day but to come back on Monday. I foolishly scheduled the appointment and come Monday, started to drive another hour out to the office. 30 minutes into the drive I got stuck in traffic and let them know I'd be 20 minutes late. They told me they wouldn't have time to see me. Another chunk of my time wasted. It feels like this office has Poor time management skills and when they do have time, they treat you poorly and rush through your appointment. Absolutely horrible service. I would never go back here! Unfortunately I was with out insurance and went for a free consultation. They claimed I needed $2500 worth of dental work for cavities! BS!!!! I hadn't been to the dentist in about 9 months, so yes I had some tartar, but $2500 worth of cavities - sorry that's just a cash grab! I take excellent care of my teeth, brushing and flossing twice a day. I finally got my own insurance plan, went to my old dentist, to confirm exactly what I thought - cash grab! I had no cavities, no need for $2500 of dental work. This place is an absolute sham! Go to a real dentist, not the McDonald's of dentists, if you want an honest, reasonable opinion. Most dentists will offer you a discount on services, if you have been going for a while. This place is horrible. read more

I would give a NEGATIVE 5-star review if I could. I paid almost $3500 for extractions and a bridge less than 2 years ago. The bridge recently broke again for the third time now. Not only has Dr Guru been difficult and argumentative in replacing this poorly made $3500 piece of garbage, but wanted to then extract two teeth that are perfectly healthy (yes healthy, this was confirmed by another dentist). He stated they do not warranty bridges. Wow! Be careful... it's a sales pitch from the minute you walk in the door. For the most part, the front office staff are immature, unprofessional and clueless. Most of them have absolutely no clue what 'customer service' means. I have contacted the Ohio Dental Board to file a complaint and plan to take legal action at this point. My advice is to RUN! I'm usually really happy with this place, but right now they are showing complete unprofessionalizam. Since last night at 9pm I have had the doctor paged 11 times, and the doctor hasn't called me back or called on-call to leave a message for me. Now I'm not calling for a simple toothache. Back in January they knew I'd be needing my entire top row of teeth pulled, but I'm on monthly income and was denied the care-credit, so I put it off. My teeth have been getting worse rather quickly cause Aspen won't let me pay out of pocket with my debit card by making payments that they take out on the 3rd of every month. This past week I've had 2 teeth break and chips of teeth keep falling off with every movement of my tongue (not to mention all the pain). So now I can't eat, cant sleep, starting to not be able to talk and it's all because poor low income people don't get any help. Office staff is extremely unprofessional and do not appear to have any skills/ familiarization training in dealing with customer issues. More specifically, the business manager Tara displays poor communication skills, very unprofessional and confrontational. I contacted Aspen disputing a bill for cleaning services because I've never experienced a time when my insurance didn't cover my regular cleanings 100%. Tara's response was expected, she advised to contact my insurance company. MetLife explained that Aspen submitted two separate claims with two different doctors and my insurance only paid in full for one because the other was considered out of network. As well as the x-rays weren't covered because some were already listed on file within the past 5 years. I was told prior to our first visit by Aspen office staff that they would complete a pre-determination to ensure our cleanings and x-rays were covered, that was not done apparently. I attempted to explain this to Tara and she interrupted continuously, her customer service skills are beyond poor and she was defensive throughout the entire call. She also accused me of talking to other staff members about the issue and them telling me the same thing, simply not true. When I originally called the Aspen to dispute the bill I talked to Brittany and she advised Tara would give me a call back that day she didn't. The next time I called it was to re-schedule my appointments and I asked was there any updates on the billing. Britany stated their computers were down and she would call me back to re-schedule and remind Tara to call me. I never received a call back, I had to call them again. I was never told anything from anyone else in the office, however, her making that statement identifies their unprofessional office environment, negatively discussing customer issues, and she allowed her negative perception of me to bleed into our conversation. I explained to her that I felt like she hadn't allowed me to speak and she just continued talking. I asked to speak with the doctor and she refused to let me speak to him. She advised me to go on Aspendental.com to complaint and said she would have her supervisor call me. Its really saddening that this is the environment of the business office when addressing customer complaints, I would've hoped for a more professional feel but it was far from professional. In Nov 2018 went to Aspen Dental (Kiereru) on Princeton in Hamilton Ohio. Just needed a simple reline. Horrible experience. Dr. Kahlil did a horrible reline. Did not fit at all anymore and looked like horse teeth. He also gave me mouth sores from forcing the ill fitting dentures into my mouth. I have NEVER had mouth sores...ever. After many complaints and threats to sue Aspen gave me my money back, but have continuously failed to even address the fact he ruined a 1 1/2 yr old denture. New dentist made new ones. Said those were irreparably damaged and did not fit at all. Please, read all the reviews people... I would not send my worse enemy to these people. Also, Dr. Kahlil just got his dental license in Sept. 2018...2 months before he completely ruined my denture. That office is a pure mess. Just don't, OK. Best experience at a dentist I have had. Dr. Guru is wonderful!!! Everyone was so helpful and understanding. I couldn't be more pleased.
