**0/10 - Do NOT recommend Aspen Dental** My partial denture (for 2 of my front teeth) broke unexpectedly on April 17. I was desperate, so I searched for places offering fast repairs and found Aspen Dental, who advertised same-day service and an onsite lab. I booked an appointment for the next morning (Good Friday), noting clearly that I needed a replacement partial. When I arrived, the dentist barely acknowledged my actual reason for being there and focused on unrelated procedures. When I pushed back and asked about quick options, she became visibly annoyed. When she finally said they could try to fix my old denture, I agreed--only for her to laugh, rip it from my hand, and say sarcastically, "Oh, now you want to go with that option." When I said I didn't understand the attitude, she snapped, "We're a general dentist and I don't know what you expect from us," and walked out. In tears, I was pulled into the manager's office, where I was quoted $86 for a repair. Moments later, they said the tech couldn't repair it, and I ended up paying $400 for a new one. I was promised a 1-week pickup time but wasn't allowed to pick it up early even though it was done. When I finally got it, it didn't fit right. I was told I just "had to get used to it." The denture made my bite worse--I couldn't chew and my front teeth hit the plate. I had to wait nearly two weeks for an adjustment appointment. By then, a bottom tooth had chipped from the denture's poor fit. The lab tech dismissed my concerns, shaved the wrong part of the denture, and made the fit even worse. At that point, I gave up. I left feeling completely disregarded and decided to go elsewhere for proper care--even if it means wasting $400. To make matters worse, my husband called to speak to a manager as soon as I got home because I was clearly upset. They left him on hold until 5:00 PM (closing time), then sent him to voicemail. The staff that day did not want to deal with it. I was in a vulnerable position and needed compassion and care. Instead, I was met with sarcasm, indifference, and incompetence. Messed up scheduling, waited in the lobby for almost 30 minutes waiting to be seen for a scheduled appointment, the dentist and dental assistant have done great work so far, but the administration side needs much improvement. read more

I was told at my initial appointment in February that my xrays were covered by my dental insurance and that the xrays would not cost me anything. I was not able to get my teeth cleaned at the initial appointment - they scheduled that for a month later, but said I would have to pay up front $50 for the fluoride treatment, as insurance didn't cover that. So I paid. Then I received a call that they had to reschedule my cleaning appointment - for January of the following year! At that point I went back to my previous dentist. When I contacted Aspen to cancel the January appointment, I asked for my $50 to be refunded. They said it had been applied to the cost of the xray. I explained I had been assured that there would be no cost to me for the xray and that my insurance covered it. The woman at Aspen kept repeating the terms in their financial agreement is that I would have to pay what insurance didn't cover. So - it can take nearly a year to get an appointment for a cleaning, they take your money up front, and then they don't give it back, and they contradict themselves about whether you'll be paying more or not. not even 1 star. this place claims to welcome you with open arms, so says the recording i had to listen to while on hold for 20 mins as they ran the clock out until closing time. knowing I wanted to speak to a manager. my wife was in for a new partial on good Friday. they staff were less than pleasant and kept making comments abliut getting out of here early and putting a sign on the door that we are closing early. after dealing with the staff my wife left in tears because of how rude they were. today she went in for an adjustment so they fit better. pointing out 2 spots. the associate commented that she doesnt want to take away from there, she didnt make them...preceeded to take material away from a whole other section leaving a gap behind and existing tooth which has caused a whistle in my wife's speech and a sore spot on the tup of her tongue...i called because my wife has had enough of them to speak with a manager i was told i can speak with the assistant manager and placed on hold. i was on hold until closing time for over 20 minutes. while on hold i uswd my wofes phone to call which all the phone did was ring until i got voice mail. while on hold i got to listen to their crock recording about welcoming you with open arms and an exclusive money back guarantee. We will be seeking our money back for the ruined partial. why they decided to remove material from a section not comained ablut is beyond me. their attitude and incompetence is second to none. I do not recommend them. i thought in the last 10 years they may have gotten better... back in 2013 they pulled a tooth of mine with out being numb. as i explained im not numb they told me they cant give a second shot of numbing medicine. worst office in the state, stay away.​ read more

The soonest appointment i could get was 12 months out, which I can understand these days. Two days before my appointment they texted me that I had to reschedule and the soonest they can reschedule is another 6 months. Terrible business practice with terrible customer service. This is the most horrible business to deal with. I made an appointment and my car broke down two days before. I called to get my time because a friend was going to drive me. They were more concerned with getting paid than actually earning a client with plenty of money and insurance. I had to call several times just to get the time of appointment. They speak over you and degrade you. When you've had enough and start doing the same thing to them, they hang up on you. I simply tried to call the corporate office to report the treatment, which is completely abusive, and each of those people talked over me, threatened me, and really could care less. They thought I was a Highmark Gateway, which is Welfare, and didn't want a poor person's business. I tried telling them I have covered every tooth in my mouth insurance. They over talked me , and when I got mad, they hung up again. I called my insurance to file a complaint, and while I was on the phone, they called me to tell me that if I showed up for the appointment, they would call the police. I laughed at her and told her she's nuts if she thought I'd ever let them near my mouth. She said good, don't come in or well call the police. I have United Concordia Medicare advantage and cash. They should not treat anyone the way they treated me. They were prejudicual because they ASSUMED I was on welfare. All welfare recipients deserve to be treated with respect as well, I'm just trying to give an honest assessment of the horror this place will inflict upon you... Run away for your life. They are degrading. They are not professional. They have many bad reviews. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CARE. read more

My partner had an accident and broke his front tooth. The root is showing and he's showing signs of infection. I made an appointment with the Aspen Dental in Hanover, on Eisenhower Drive. I took off from work early to take him but we hit bad traffic on the way, making our ETA 20 minutes after the appointment time of 12pm I called them shortly after 11am to let them know this. They pretty much told us not to come at all because they wouldn't have enough time to see us. I explained that it was an emergency and she responded with "we have lunch at 1pm. There isn't enough time." I just hung up at that point. read more

I was having tooth pain in my back molar whenever I ate sweet and cold foods, so I went to Aspen Dental assuming it was a cavity needing filled. They took several x-rays. When the dentist came into the room he asked me to open my mouth. He picked at a few spots in my teeth with the tarter scraper and told me that I had the beginning stages of gum disease. He was only in the room with me no longer then five minutes. I was then taken to the check out area where the receptionist explained I would need a periodontal cleaning and two teeth filled. They wanted over 60% of the total down for three separate visits charged upfront before even doing the work. With the periodontal cleaning and the two cavities filled my total came to $1,150.00 dollars. When I left I had a really bad gut feeling. I decided to seek a second opinion and I am so glad I did. The dentist I saw today said that spot that was causing the pain was due to "wear" of the tooth enamel. He said it was very small in size and recommended that I use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth with no whiting. He also did a very thorough exam and measured each tooth to see if my gums were receding. After the exam he said I was not in the early stages of gum disease, I would not need a periodontal cleaning, and I had NO cavities. I rarely ever write bad reviews but I felt like I was really taken advantage of at Aspen Dental. It is a money making scheme and I will NEVER go back. They are not even deserving of a one star rating. read more

I would give no stars if I could. Staff was great. Doctor is an asshole. Appt was at 2. Got there and was told they're 45 minutes behind With finishing my permabent denture. I waited for over 2 hr and after a few adjustments, which it still wasn't right, was told that there is too little time for all of these adjustments and I need to schedule another appointment to finish this. I was awake for 7 extractions and had to come up off of the chair twice just to get more numbing meds. He has no bedside manner and, for all intensive purposes, sucks. Do not go to this office. Try a different one. They are a franchise, so other offices might be better. read more

Do not go there to have your wisdom teeth removed. My wife got her wisdom teeth removed there today. As she was going under she heard them say they had no RX pads. When she woke up we were told that she did not need anything stronger than Tylenol ibuprofen. Few hours later my wife started crying in pain. She called back twice and was told she did not need any. How do they know how much pain you are in. I understand there's a lot of drug addicts out there. But I have never heard of having teeth extracted surgically and being told to take Tylenol. read more

Do not go to any Aspen Dental no matter where. They hire students to save money, and some are not qualified for the jobs that the dentists have them do. The company also will charge you for supplies and other services you may have not used. read more

This is a piss poor excuse for a dental establishment! The "doctors" are horrible and the customer service is terrible. They owe my husband almost $300 in over-charges and refuse to admit they screwed up! Beth, the supposed office and finance manager is terrible and never calls back! This place is a rip off. My husband went here and got a bunch of work done. Thank goodness we have dental insurance because the over Charged us by 1302.00 They did give us a refund but only for 1132.20 I am still waiting on the 169.80 they still owe me. When I try to talk to them about it I get the run around and then they say they will call back and they never do. read more

Overall, good experience. The office staff is very friendly, especially Krystal (x-rays) and Myranda. Dr. Shah did a great job taking the time to show and explain what dental work I needed done. Would give them 5 stars but I was seen 15 minutes after my appointment time and it took 30 minutes longer than scheduled. I left with a clear understanding of what needed to be done, how much it would cost, and when my next appointment would be. I'm looking forward to them being my new dentist. read more

I've had far better dental care elsewhere. Preventive and restorative services are overpriced, and the quality of the dental work is substandard. I had a couple of "white" fillings done. The dentist never bothered to polish the material afterwards, and when I mentioned it, he filed down the filling a little more. Still not smooth. He then said some material just doesn't polish. Which from my previous experience, is not true. Also, if you have dental insurance with a deductible, they make you pay the deductible (& coinsurance) up front before you're even seen by the dentist. Be very careful with this. What they charge is not likely what the insurance will pay. So, you'll be paying more than you need to pay. Yes, they'll refund, but you need to ask for the refund. Also, if you like a particular dentist there, and you want that dentist exclusively, it's not going to happen. You'll be scheduled with whatever dentist is available. They're not very accommodating & some of the staff can be rude. read more
