An appointment for a check up and cleaning led to an exhaustive series of Xrays and no cleaning. The office manage met with me afterwards and put the pitch on for a series of three deep cleanings. I passed on that. They screwed up my insurance billing and I had to call and go into the office to get them to bill my insurance. Assurance was that they would not charge anything for a first visit. Six months after the visit I received a bill for charges in excess of usual and customary. I'll mail a check and find another dentist. read more

Well, for 1 major thing. You could give people something for pain, especially when you can see the tooth is infected and needs extraction AND my son had to wait 6 days for an appointment!!! That's ridiculous. He had to go to the emergency room for pain. 2 appointments later, no extraction because you couldn't get it numbed enough & he still had to miss 2 days of work, spend over $300.00 & not get it fixed!! Not to mention the emergency room costs!! Just ridiculous, awful. I would recommend people RUN as fast as they can away!!!!! Very upset and just mad. ZERO STARS - So I chipped the tooth about a year and a half ago and in a pinch, I went to Aspen dental in High Point. I provided my insurance information which is very good since it's through my military retirement and I paid a little bit for their services that day and left. They weren't really any help and I had to go to a real dentist within a few days. I then moved to the north side of Greensboro and I never returned to that location. I never received any emails from them. I never received any phone calls from them. Although they did have my cell phone number and my address. So today I get a notice from some debt collector saying I owe $144 to Katie Breeze Heald DDS...Aspen Dental. No problem if they would've just called me I would've paid them right away. It's only $144. I'm not gonna screw up my credit for that. I didn't call the debt collector and called Aspen and paid in full. I will never do business with these people ever again. Their service was terrible anyway. Never trust a chain for dental services. read more

I've been to Aspen twice now after using a mom-and-pop for several years. I. LOVE. Coming to Aspen Dental. The hygienists have taken my dental expectations to another level. My first visit was a consultation, like it says on the site, and they worked me in for a cleaning too since there was time (woo!). Throughout the cleaning, the hygienist explained exactly what she was doing, what she could see I was doing well on my own, and what I could work on better (and WHY it mattered and the effect it was having on my mouth). I was shown several cavities which I neglected to make an appointment for (they did offer, but I was in a rush). Second visit was just a cleaning, but equally fantastic. We discussed the hygiene habits I started and dropped, some problem areas, and she also told me exactly why I was likely having the problems I was having and what could resolve them. We also discussed my outstanding fillings for my cavities, and explained what could happen if I pushed it off for too much longer. Also got a little lesson in enamel, dentin, and nerves and how that works in. I just LOVE everything about Aspen. My teeth were neglected in childhood so playing catch up as an adult has been a nightmare, so I am so grateful that the team has taken the time to talk me through the what/why's/how's of dental hygiene, plus other factors. It's unlike any other dental experience I've had in my life. I know several reviews have mentioned pricing. Any time they have recommended a service or product, I got a quote. I knew exactly what I would be paying for before they started/scheduled the service. I scheduled my cavity fillings, was told what the price would be, and paid ahead of time (that's an option, not a requirement). So that's nice. I was happy with my first visit in March 2023. I made a follow-up appointment for my 6th month cleaning for October. Unfortunately, I received a phone call one week before the appointment indicating they needed to move my appointment. I had specifically booked my appointments so I wouldn't be too late to work. The options they gave me for my long-standing appointment, was either 9:30 the day before my original appointment or MARCH 2024. I am extremely disappointed with how the scheduling was handled. The staff is wonderful; yet the reason I will not return is due to a lack of respect for patient's scheduling and appointments. read more

Shoddy dentures at premium prices. Over $2,000.00 for full dentures and the bottom plate broke after only 7 months. Lousy fit to start with (2 months of pain and deformation), now this and to top it all off, I called Fri night telling them that a crack had started. By Sat morning, it broke completely. Expected a call Monday morning, but by 10am, no call so I went to the office. No technician to do the repair (death in her family, my condolences to her and her family.) I will have to wait at least a week. Large business with NO back up plans for staff absences. Thank goodness I had a back up plan, 20 yr old dentures from Affordable Dentures that aren't broken and lasted through over 10 yrs! read more

It's A lot to unpack sp here it goes. I made an appt with them after my old dentist office became an out of network provider. Set up 1st exam appt they took images and set up an appt what all to be done. I gave them my insurance information and they had me to pay that day 400 plus dollars that would cover the services. NOT the issues yet. So I get 2 appts done. When I come in for my 2nd appt they state I owe a bill. Check this out. I never got ANYTHING in the mail nor any calls in regards to a existing bill. Thus according to this bill it was 6 months since my last appt and why wasn't I mailed a bill? Ok I asked could I provide my banking information as I didn't have my any cards on me tonpay because I wasn't expecting a bill and to add I had spoken to someone the day before the appt and the day prior. I had got called back and was about to get started when the person who was going to do the work said they needed me at the front desk. They said inwoukd have to pay before services I said ok I cna get the services done then run to my house and either call them or come back with the information. They said they would have to reschedule for another time. I had cashapp card on my phone so I asked could I use that and they said no because it wasn't not a physical card. I asked dis thry have tap pay. No she said. To ake the long story short they billed my husband over a YEAR afyer he had a consult and said he owed. They mailed it in 2024 from 2022 consult. Not work was done ONLY the X rays. Insirqnce covers fully cleaning every 6 months, panoramic every 3 years. They had everything from pervious dentist as we provided. Even thry called my daughter to say she owed a bill a year later. No one got a bill except my husband a year after his me ans my daughter no bill. Thr place does work but the method on how thry do things ans billing sucks. Can't speak to no one about isles as I called the qonston office and they referred me back to the office I had an anise with. All I wanted was someone to explain HOW does their process work. If you don't bill people they can't pay unless they know. That portion SUCKS. Went to abetter place and they say thry get a lot of folks from ASPEN that have problems. When you know better you do better. Maybe because it's corporately ran the machine has too many moving parts that money means MORE than PEOPLE. I had a bridge done, costing almost 3,000. Within a year a tooth was loose so I contacted Aspen. I was told it would cost me cover 200.00 to be checked. Unbelievable!!. I really hate to write this review because I had a wonderful office experience when I visited the office earlier this week. Jodi x-rayed my teeth, I was seen by a dental hygienist named Danielle, then Dr. Samra visited with me and discussed my teeth and x-rays. I really liked each person I saw and the ambiance in the office really impressed me. However, when it came down to pricing and scheduling future visits, Ryan, the office manager wasn't able to get in touch with my insurance company because they weren't open yet. He asked me to call later that morning. When I called, he still didn't have the information. I allowed a couple of more days to go by and heard nothing, so I called again today for further information. The woman who answered said she'd leave Ryan a message. I expressed that I was worried he wouldn't call because I hadn't been able to reach him for 3 days. I called later in the day to find that the office closes on Fridays at 12:30 PM. How unfortunate that I will have to start the process all over again because ONE person in the office is unprofessional and couldn't even reach out to let me know he was still working on the information. I will be looking elsewhere and I'm sure I'll be much happier wherever I go. read more

Made appointment via phone. Was told $29.99 first time patient visit. Upon arrival, I was told to provide DL and insurance info. Front desk told me $29.99 is their special for new patients (what I'd also been told when I made the appointment). Okay, I hand my DL and Medicare Advantage insurance cards over and tell her I wish to pay cash for the visit - that I did NOT want to use my insurance. Had hoped my insurance was to help pay for any procedures they deemed needed - not for the initial conference. After making copy of my items for their files - she then tells me that the $29.99 will not work for me as they accept my insurance. That doesn't fly with me. Told her I did not think because they wanted to charge my insurance $250 for the first time visit when they advertise $29.99 that it was fair. She said, first time anyone had asked upon arrival that they wanted the visit to be "cash" and have available insurance. Her co-workers told her it was the law that if insurance is available they will charge the higher $ amount. Unfair practice. Told them I did not want to be seen... and asked if I'd be charged for using the front desk. Told I'd not be charged. Hopefully I won't as the next patient called as I was leaving had the same first name as me. Will not return or advise family or friends for what appears to be bait and switch. $29.99 to $250 is a giant step! Be sure to ASK how you'll be charged before being seen. You'd be in for a BIG surprise thinking your visit is $29.99 only to find out you've lost $250+ in your dental insurance benefits (esp for those with older folks on limited income) when you are ready to leave. read more

I received excellent service, this office runs like a well oiled machine. It truly is a team. I had three teeth pulled and one route canal and my partials were ready after my extractions, I did not need any strong pain meds, just Tylenol & Ibuprofen and I only had one adjustment. The complete process took less then a week.... they even gave me options for payment....I especially loved the diverse culture in employees. read more

I had an appointment for what I thought was a general dental cleaning at the High Point office. I learned after checking in that I was scheduled for a more in depth cleaning, below the gums. The hygienist, Brittany, refused to treat me due to the apparent bone degradation indicated by my x-rays. Brittany's manner was hostile and accusatory. I did not understand why I was receiving this reaction, and as I asked probing questions in an attempt to understand, Dr. McMichael joined the conversation to back-up Brittany. I was told that performing any type of treatment on me would be tantamount to "insurance fraud" because my dental needs are outside of the scope of Brittany's abilities. At this point, I was still struggling to understand why I was being treated so poorly, but the criminal implications truly floored me! Since I am not a dental professional, I did not immediately understand the reservations of Dr. McMichael and Brittany. I was referred to make this appointment by one of Aspen's branch offices in Greensboro. In fact, the Greensboro office offered to make the appointment for me! Why would I be encouraged to make this appointment if my needs are so far outside of the practice's purview? Further, why was I made to feel like I was attempting some criminal activity just by showing up for a dental appointment? As for the Greensboro office I visited on Battleground Ave, it was fine. I felt the waiting time, both in the lobby and in the chair were a bit much. However, the staff were very friendly and professional. read more

Under coating and floor mats? Due to COVID I have not gone to the DDS for over a year. Before that I went every 6 months with no issues. My insurance changed and so I need to go to a new in network dentist. So I scheduled an appointment with Aspen dental in High Point asking for a checkup and a cleaning. After an hour and forty five minutes in their office I got a checkup, an upsell and no cleaning. The hygienist wanted me to have a whole mouth deep cleaning. After talking to the dentist he suggested just deep cleaning in one place. BTW the Dentist seemed like a real good guy. Then on to the person in finance.?.? Who was going to quote me over a thousand dollars for a cleaning! But after refreshing with my insurance and only one spot of deep cleaning it was knocked down to ~$190. I was never ask for my insurance information, I had to ask and make sure they had it before I went in and still. They would not schedule me for a regular cleaning at all. I told them I'd call back if I changed my mind and left. I don't even want to talk about the experience I had when my son went there. Very similar experience to what Andrew D. had in September 2020. I am a patient at Aspen Dental High Point location and so is one of my daughters. I recently made an appointment for my 2 older daughte's in college. On today, at 9:30am I took my youngest over for a cleaning only to have the receptionist look at me and say what appointment? I told her I confirmed my daughter's appointment ealier in the week and they also called again on yesterday threatening to cancel her appointment if I did not confirm it. I called them back again and confirmed with the answering service on yesterday at 12:53pm. I did give the front desk clerk my number and she informed me I was called on yesterday and when I showed her my call log she stated you were texted about this and I went through my text with no message sent to me. She then stayed well the hygienist is out today. I asked was there anyone else who could see my daughter and I was told no. They are not accommodating appointments for a cleaning and I asked if she could see if there were any other clinics with Aspen that maybe she could call to see her. She told me the different locations and said I would have to call myself to make arrangements with another office. She did give me the GSO location with a frown on her face! This is not the first time they have cancelled my appointment and did not tell me! I took time off work and still, no appointment. Then you tell me right before the summer you can not schedule my older two daughters because they are 18/19 because they are adults at the HP location when I take care of them! Really? The answering service them got service scheduled it when I called back. This is not okay and I am sure you all in this organization would not like it if you took off work twice on 2 separate occasions and no called you to let you know they canceled your appointment!
