This is the best dentistry office I've ever had. They have every amenity you could imagine, everyone is friendly and my teeth have never been healthier. I made an appointment after a friend referred me. I complained of tooth pain, thinking it was a cavity. My 1st appointment was only $45, for xray and exam. When I arrived, there was a little confusion as how to pronounce my name, but that got corrected quickly and I was taken on a tour of the building and I immediately felt valued and I decided right then and there this was going to be my new dentist's office. Now, there are a handful of practitioners here. 1 DDS and the rest seem to be DMDs, but after a bit of research, I found that there is no difference in training; unlike the difference between a MD and PA. So, we came up with a dental plan and I felt satisfied with that first visit. I was even gifted a little welcome bag that had a branded figit spinner in it. I thought it was going to be a lame toothbrush or floss. My next visit was my cleaning. Full disclosure: I had not had a proper teeth cleaning in over a decade. While I was ashamed of this fact, no one passed judgement and I'm 100% sure they'd seen worse. They offer movies, Netflix, music, adult fluoride (my favorite part because many dentists don't offer it after a certain age. Bubble gum is still my favorite flavor), laughing gas (if you need it). And after my cleaning I got ANOTHER gift bag, this time with a toothbrush, paste, floss and a sticker. In another fun and cool surprise, I received a handwritten note in the mail about 2 weeks later--a friend became a patient of Reynolda Smiles after I referred her and the office sent TWO $50 gift cards for Reynolda Smiles. Years ago, they overcharged me when I was there and instead of refunding me, they gave me a gift card. Silly of me, I decided to make my wife an appointment and filled out all the paperwork online for her then called to make an appointment the next week. The person kept asking me to repeat info submitted online despite telling her it was all submitted on their website but she said she still needed. She then said they would send me a packet to fill out via email but I explained I already did it all online. She said that I would not have to fill it out then. I asked her to confirm they received it and she said she had to put me on hold then she disconnected. Called back and talked to somebody else and they said they had not got the forms from online. Scary because this personal info (SS#, DOB, History...) all was submitted somewhere. Clearly, they do not appear to be Hippa compliant and to boot the person on the phone's attitude was if I was making her life difficult. read more

If you're a woman, especially of color, do not come here! I was verbally harassed (because I mentioned the procedure being done hurt me...yiked) and then laughed at when I brought it up as a complaint. Also, they ruined my retainers (extra yikes!). After I brought up my complaints, the dentistry terminated my whole family as patients-- yes, you read that right. I was verbally harassed and when I seeked help, they took that action (hm?). Extremely unprofessional, they're there to save each others backs. Avoid the drama (unless you like to tussle and struggle to be treated decently...then this place if for you!) I seriously recommend everyone, but especially my community, to seek treatment where they will be respected and can get their procedures without so much baggage! AND make sure to check your receipts and that they're charging you and/or insurance for the right things!! That's another thing to watch out for (yikes). I was a faithful patient until they dropped my insurance and didn't tell us until we already booked an appointment...two days before the appointment they sent a letter to tell us they dropped our insurance over a month ago. Of course, they're happy to still work with us, we just have to pay more (no thanks, senior citizens here) . I used to go to Renolda smiles for a while, and I absolutely loved it. I love the main dentist who actually does the work on my teeth that woman is beyond talented. I can't even describe how detailed and passionate she is about her work it truly does amaze me. I will forever be grateful for the woman who fixed my teeth, however. The people who work at the front are bullies. I have been cussed out i have been screamed at all for missing an appointment after my grandmother passed away. I lost my grandma all to be yelled at by my dentist for missing an appointment. Today I woke up with an extremely awful throat infection I have an auto immune disease so I get sick very frequently. I had to cancel my appointment for tomorrow however I'm being charged hundreds of dollars for it?????? why am I being charged literally over $200 for missing a single appointment when I've given you guys over thousands of dollars to fix my teeth???!??? the fact that you guys claim to be a Christian company is truly horrific in my eyes. I would give them a negative 5 stars. Out of the blue, they said I needed to see a periodontist. I went, and couldn't afford an unnecessary $6000 procedure. I spoke with them today..: They told me I had to go to the periodontist for a simple cleaning. The fact is my dental insurance doesn't cover their costs. My X-rays were fine.... Of course the periodontal covered for them. To deny service, while pretending to be a "Christian" organization, goes against Christian principles. It's all about insurance money! 5 stars across the board! I had a fantastic experience at Reynolda Smiles from start to finish. Diana was phenomenal at walking me through everything, getting me comfortable at every stage, and even brought me a blanket, a bottled water (with straw) AND I got to watch a movie while I had my fillings done! Hard to ask for better than that! Dr. Szott was also absolutely incredible. She explained all the parts and pieces of what she was doing, and even took photos to show me the extent of the damage of my teeth during the procedure. Having that level of attention to detail left me feeling relaxed and at ease at the end of this (and I was a bundle of nerves walking in!) I can't recommend them highly enough. I literally wouldn't give any stars if it was an option. I went in for a crown and some fillings. On the day that they were placing my crown, the dentist numbed the wrong side of mouth and hit a nerve sending me into unimaginable pain. The dentist and his assistant brushed it off and continued to talk about space, as tears are streaming down my face. I had previously paid up front for my appointment but before I left, I wanted to speak to the manager about the level of care. The checkout girl stated that the manager was on vacation and she would call me as soon as she is back. I called countless times over the last year to leave a message or get a phone call back. I still haven't spoke to the manager over a year later but they have no problem making appointments for me. After the last appointment made, they sent me a letter stating that I should find a new dentist but "kindly" would see me for an emergency appointment,dating 1 month after the letter is sent. This is definitely the place you want to go if you don't care about customer service, communication, and greed! Hopefully your experience will be different but seeing all of the other reviews, I doubt it. read more

I started out at Reynolda Smiles with Dr. Geer, he is a wonderful Dentist. I got switched over to Dr. Speer and he is absolutely the best all around Dentist that I have ever had work on my teeth. He has a fabulous personality and such a very caring way. I have always been uneasy about the needle but have actually gone to sleep in the chair while he was working on my teeth and this is saying a lot, I have had a bunch of work done through the years by quite a few Dentist. I truly enjoy going and seeing him for my dental needs. Everyone their is really good and his team that works with him is next to none. I have not had a regular dentist, like ever and after posting for recommendations from the App NextDoor, 2 or 3 came with great things to say about Reynolda Smiles so I booked Appointment. I had a lot of fear and apprehension but I was met by friendly smiles at the check-in and Charly, Dental Assistant, walked me around and just made me feel very welcoming, then proceeded in a very knowledgeable and compassionate way to do the initial stuff like xrays etc.. Dr. Spears was very understanding, nice, and just made me feel at ease. And Deanna was very personable and provided some great insight and advice to next steps. I am looking for an oral surgeon with my insurance and noticed how few reviews dentists have in this area, so I figured I'd review my dentists' practice - who I like! I have seen one dental hygienist in the several years I've been going here, Leslie. She's great, always able to answer my questions. I'm seen promptly with little waiting time. When I've needed more work done or had an emergency, I'm able to get in without too long a wait. The dentists I've been seen by, Vrikkis and Speer, are good. They don't linger but they answer questions and are readily available. Dental insurance is always a pain, but I would say that in my experience, Reynolda Smiles doesn't make it any harder. It's a Christian setting - a Bible in the waiting room, for example - which may be off putting to non-Christians, but they aren't advertising churches or anything. read more

This company has completely wasted my time and money. I went in for an appt to get my teeth cleaned and a broken tooth taken care of in May 2021. I asked to have the back tooth removed because I couldn't afford a root canal but they put in my notes to send me to an endodontist instead, when I questioned it they informed me that the endodontist would be able to do the surgery and pull the tooth. Come to find out when I finally saw him in mid-July he informed me that he ONLY did root canals (remember I asked to have it pulled from the get-go). The endodontist charged me and charged my insurance, even though he didn't actually do anything once he found out that I only wanted the tooth pulled. I then had to call Reynolda Smiles 3 times within a week to get a referral to get the tooth pulled from an actual Oral surgeon as I had originally asked in MAY. It took another month (August) to get seen by the oral surgeon, and due to the mess up by Reynolda Smiles with my insurance, I had to pay out of pocket full price for the Oral surgeon's exam and x-ray, this was $580 out of pocket. I spoke to the office manager at Reynolda Smiles and was reimbursed $40 of the $ 580 due out of pocket to the oral surgeon, and was told in no uncertain terms that they would not do anything else to make this screw-up of there's right. I do not find this acceptable, and will not be using this company again. *Update, I finally was able to get the tooth pulled in October, 5 months after this journey, and Reynolda has cost me a total of $700 out-of-pocket expenses, and completely used up my yearly allotment issued by my insurance company. I will now have to pay completely out of pocket to get implants due to their ineptitude, on top of the exams needed to get ready for the implants which will be costing me an additional $250 that will NOT be covered by my insurance. So now I am up to $950 out of pocket. read more

This place is not a upfront dentistry. They give you insurance cost and your cost for the work you get done. Then say you owe more. Good dentist tell you up front how much everything will cost. No signing documents to tie you to them legally. I should have known this practice was shady. Plus the work they do is not fantastic as I had to return three times to get things fixed that they had done. Basically this place is only out for money. The dentist is rushing to get to another patient so details are overlooked. Quality work would be a better goal for this dentistry over quantity of patients. I will not go back here. I'd rather pay straight up to a legitimate establishment then use my insurance at a dentistry that's only out for the money. read more

Patient BEWARE! My husband and I were first time patients to this practice and provided our insurance info and patient info days prior to arriving to our appointment. Upon arrival I was asked for my insurance info again which I thought was a little odd at the time but provided the info and was then taken on a tour of the beautiful facility. We were made to feel more than welcome and really enjoyed our visit (this was routine cleanings and we specified that we didn't want any services that our insurance didn't cover)... then we receive a statement in the mail for $147.50 and it went downhill quick from there. I called the office and spoke with a very nice woman who informed me that while they try to check everyone's insurance to make sure the patients don't get hit with surprise charges sometimes they just get "too busy." What?? She said she couldn't help me with this specific issue but she'd have her manager call me back. I missed the call back so I returned the call a while later and this time it was a different woman. I told her who I was and she bluntly told me that Jessica (the manager I missed the call from) wanted to let me know that "you're responsible for the charges" with no sort of explanation or helpfulness in the slightest. I asked her to have someone call me back because I truly don't feel that it's a fair ask to have the patient pay for something the staff was "too busy" to research before my initial appointment. After not receiving a call back, I called the practice again today and spoke to Deanna who was less than helpful. She told me she hadn't returned my call because she was on vacation. I explained the situation and she told me she would use the recording of my first phone call as a training resource but would not be willing to do anything but take $40 off of the almost $150 I was being charged out of pocket for a ROUTINE cleaning. I asked to talk to her superior, Dr. Greer, and was told he was on vacation for 3 weeks and I was MORE than welcome to wait for his return call. I was also told he is the owner and can be gone for as long as he wants... who spills info on their boss like that?? Super disappointed in this facility. I don't pay monthly dental premiums for my family just to get heckled into paying out of pocket as well. We will not be back. read more

I was surprised to see that this place has such a bad rating. Then I noticed all the reviews are old. I've moved a lot in my life and have been to a lot of dentists. This is probably the most put together staff and well run dentist I have ever seen. I hate the dentist. I always feel like I'm going to get scammed. They told me I had a cavity and literally used a camera to show me my teeth on a monitor so I could see it. It was terrifying. They explained all my potential charges based on my insurance and at no time did I feel pressured. Everyone was so nice and the hygienist and dentist was amazing. I have been a patient here for close to 6 months . My first appointment here was very very good . The staff was amazing , along with the Dentist. HOWEVER... the last time I was in the office I was misquoted and ended up paying double what I was told I was going to pay . On top of that .. I called today to cancel my appointment , 4.5 hours EARLY and reschedule for the first week in april . I have a full time job , a part time job , and I am a single mom but I am NOT superwomen . They said they would make me put down a 50.00 reservation fee . The front desk is ALWAYS rude and I shouldn't have to go through all of this just to get my teeth worked on . After years of bouncing around from place to place (my old dentist was hard to replace) I have finally found where I will be going as long as I live in Winston Salem+. This office is brand spankin' new. Beautiful to walk into. The staff is very polite and helpful. My hygienist is very sweet and always remembers me and about my life. On the plus side, my appointment was @8:00 am and I was in the chair by 8:05. Dental technician was pleasant and good at her job. My dentist was not Dr. Greer but another dentist in the practice. This dentist office appears to be motivated by $$$$$$$$. They have a fairly new office, but my last visit was horrible. The practice has gotten less friendly, the staff no longer smiles. The front desk help appeared pushy and keeps asking you to have more and more work done for more $$$$$$$$$. I have never been to a dentist office before that seems to only care about how much $$$$$$$$$ they can get from you. Very unprofessional work too. They used WAY too much seditive on me and almost chocked me to death by leaving a working suction tube UNATTENDED in my mouth!!! The dentsist and the assitant were VERY rude to me!!! They almost KILLED me in that chair!!! Beware!! Don`t end up like Joan Rivers- DEAD here!!! I recommend stay FAR, FAR away from this dangerous place in my own personal opinion. These people are here only to make money and not help their patients. I have been with Reynolda Smiles for 3 years now. Everything was fine until my kids needed attention. My son has perfectly aligned teeth, no cavities, no decay of any sort, however the problem started when he was having his permanent molars come in, while his deciduous molars were still there. Common sense would be to extract the milk one's out to make room for the new one's, and the new one's will fall right in their place. But they refused, they want me to wait till he has full set of permanent on top of, deciduous teeth in his mouth. They want him to end up with a roller coaster of teeth poking around in his mouth first, and then asked me to go to an orthodontist (to be treated for crowded teeth) to get braces. He doesn't have a single tooth unaligned or crooked. So these geniuses want to "create a problem" and then fix it. I am sure they want to make money to pay for their new office rent. Hell, they even asked me to get my 5 year old daughter ready for braces!! Who doesn't have a single wiggly tooth right now. I pleaded, demanded to know the reason for the referral, but they have no explanation. I was simply told that "IF THEY TOOK OUT MY SON'S BABY TOOTH TO MAKE WAY FOR THE PERMANENT ONE'S THEN I WILL TURN AROUND AND SUE THEIR ASS". If this is the kind of treatment you want, then you should go to Reynolda Smiles. I took my business else where and brought it to my family members attention too (who go there). There are still doctors who would intervene in order to avoid a child with perfectly aligned teeth to not get braces. Some one who would use their common sense instead of going by the book, so that their ass wouldn't get sued, They are there to make money. Not to help people. Read world is different from medical text books and every situation is different. A smart doctor should know how to help people using his knowledge, not using his medical text books. A practice that doesn't want to treat people because they are scared of getting sued...should not be in this business. There's not a single dentist their that doesn't talk about braces. All dentists there love to put braces on your kid. If he doesn't need one, they will make sure he will one day. read more
