Aspen Dental in Hyannis MA has the most amazing "Team" of staff and Dr.Taylor is the best dentist I have ever gone to. Together with her staff, Dr. Taylor provides patient centered dental care and has a never ending level of compassion . The staff that assist Dr. Taylor seem to really enjoy their jobs and are always looking for ways to calm a patient. The staff are knowledgeable about each procedure and take great care in explaining exactly what is going to be done. Ryan is always accommodating and friendly greeting everyone with a genuine smile. Would not recommend this practice. My son went there for a cavity and to schedule a cleaning. They tried to pressure him into an expensive deep clean. He would have had to pay almost 3700 after insurance. He called them back to say he couldn't afford that and to get the cavity filled. Was impressed with care at first. I was sat in the office to plan out my dental care which totaled $3400 I opened a care credit line to cover the expenses fast forward a few months where I was hit for a $2200 unexpected bill and not one person in that office would offer me any help. I still have no idea what totaled $5,600 I have gone through all of my claims with my insurance company and the patient pay portion doesn't come close to the $5600. The ABSOLUTE worst dental practice on Cape Cod. I had an extraction and paid in full after service on 10/02/24. Aspen Dental was asked to submit my invoice to my insurance company. Fast forward 5 months later, and Aspen Dental has NOT submitted the appropriate information to my insurance company. I have called Aspen Dental 4 times, since service, to find out why they can't do their job. The first couple of times I went, I was delighted with the seemingly professional service I was receiving. Seemed like a well-run business. However, after a second cleaning, I was handed a printout of all the dental services and procedures I would need to have done before Aspen would give me a new 6-mo.appointment for another cleaning. The total in writing was: $3,212.50! I am 78 years old, and have no issues with my teeth, and haven't had for several years, except for a broken tooth that was replaced by a crown. My husband ( a new patient) was given an appointment for a cleaning, but first went to an appointment in which they did nothing but an examination; he went a couple of weeks later for (supposedly) a cleaning. He was there for almost 3 hours, and did not receive the cleaning. Instead he was handed a printout for services/procedures that he would need first before they would clean his teeth; his future list of appointments came to an earth-shattering $5,650.40!!!!! To whom it "may" concern: There was no "experience". I had scheduled a new patient appointment on April 21 weeks in advance, after which I called Jordan and explained that I have a fractured (painful) tooth, substantial tooth decay which requires drilling and that I will be leaving the country for well over 3 months on May 23. Additionally, I sent her an email containing my x-rays which she subsequently acknowledged in writing. In my email, I provided my Delta Dental insurance information. On the morning of my appointment, Amanda called me on the telephone and told me that the dentist wouldn't be in and that she needs to reschedule. She also rudely and bizarrely stated, "We don't want you in here". She had also acted quite strangely when I had visited the office two days prior on Tuesday to make sure everything was in order for my appointment. Although the office was very much aware of my predicament, including my fractured tooth and accompanying pain and discomfort, and was the party to cancel the morning of the appointment, Amanda could offer me a first appointment on May 18, almost four weeks later. Jordan called several minutes later and confirmed that the first opening was on May 18. Both refused to "squeeze me in" earlier than that. Neither of them informed me of your Walk-In policy as well. I later called the number provided by Mitch in ADMI (866-767-0890) regarding similar treatment in your N. Dartmouth office and was told by Michelle that Mitch does not take calls. She did not even attempt to assist me. Michelle's demeanor and attitude was rude, disrespectful and abusive. After these three "encounters" with Aspen Dental, I ask myself if I am dealing with a humane dental provider or visiting the forced diamond consumption in "Marathon Man" starring Dustin Hoffman. Your customer service is abysmal, a total joke. You dental caring and care is non-existent. You are absolutely horrendous and to be avoided at all costs. read more

they were great for my first few cleanings but then refused to clean my teeth unless i agreed to extensive and expensive periodontal treatments which i suspect i did not need as i had no bleeding, pain, looseness, etc. i walked out, never to return. they lost a good patient due to this policy. i'll find another dentist who doesn't act like my mother, thank you. read more

I originally came in due to a broken tooth, it was an emergency and I was traveling that day. I set myself up as a new patient with all xrays and perio screening done. I told the hygienist that I was not interested in having my gums scaled as I have had it done twice in the past 5 years. I was told to make an appointment to have three cavities filled. When I called to make an appointent I was told that I needed to have my gums scaled before I could get the cavities filled. I called a friend who is a dentist and he saw this as ludicrous and a revenue generator. I wanted to believe that yours was an above board establishment, despite its reputation in Hyannis as a second-rate dental facility. Its sad that this appears to be yet another health care situation where patients are gouged financially at the expense of patient centered care. I went in for a root canal in Hyannis, and during the prep, I was left alone for an hour in the chair before they did anything. Then during the procedure, the dentist left me alone three times for 10 minutes at a time, mouth still open and needing work! The entire procedure took 4 HOURS! I already hate the dentist, and this just validated my hatred. Then the temporary cap broke and they had to make a new one! At the very end, I felt rushed out the door, they didn't even fit the temporary cap to the rest of my teeth! After I get my final cap, I'm never going back. read more

Do not even bother- find another dentist! After breaking a tooth earlier this week it was so sharp it was slicing into my tongue and I could not eat solid foods. I am Leaving Monday for vacation so called right away to get to the dentist who could give me a temp filling so I could Enjoy vacation. Receptionist promised if I came at 8am They'd be able to help me. After 2 hours of painful xrays and numerous exams from one person looking at gums and another at teeth, the dentist comes in and says she won't do anything. She would not even take the temporary otc filling stuff out to check for infection. Didn't offer antibiotics or pain relief, would not take any steps to help me. Isn't that what doctors and dentists are there for, to help patients?! She said if I take out the filling you could get infection, so I clarified again that it comes out or disintegrates many times a day which is why I wanted a better solution from her so I could actually eat on vacation. I said what if it's infected already, how can you say this is an examination if you do t look at tooth I'm here for? Ugh!! I am so mad that I wasted my opportunity to get this fixed. I told the receptionist when I called that I'd go elsewhere if they could t guarantee they'd fill It because I had one day off and couldn't afford to get strung along without a solution. Several years ago a similar situation happened to me and my dentist took out the temporary cement stuff and cleaned it. He said I must be uncomfortable since the root was exposed so offered a prescription and gave me antibiotics as a precaution since this situation can easily become infected. I didn't realize how good he was until I dealt with this dentist. What a sham. They didn't even do a cleaning like ads say. Had a hygienist (very nice) come in and recommend the type of cleaning I should get when I make another appointment! They said I would get a email today with recommendations and the course of treatments they can do but I didn't even get that. Don't believe the ads. They obviously want to do lots of unnecessary things that they can charge for yet don't really help. They said I should Come back for route canals, partials, extractions and all This $$ procedures. Learn from my mistake. What sort of a place sends patients away in pain and unable to eat when they could have easily helped me without compromising my teeth? Here is my second review on this sub par dental group. I had gone there earlier this year and saw an Asian lady dentist who was as rude as could be. I had a crown that came out and went there to have it glued back in. She said that it could not be done and took X-rays and said I needed that tooth crowned again and needed a root canal not only on that tooth but the one in front. I wanted nitros oxide which is a minor sedation. She said they don't do that and I left. My new dentist called them for the X-rays and they sent them immediately, my appointment was six weeks after they sent the X-rays as dentists are very booked up after Covid. Upon arrival at my new dentist, they pulled up the Aspen dental X-rays and discovered that these were not my X-rays. The new dentist said he could have glued the crown back and that I certainly did NOT NEED TWO ROOT CANALS. This group are beyond useless. Imagine if I had passed away and needed dental records to identify me. I would not take my worst enemy to this bunch of fools. Do not bother to go to this awful place. read more

While sitting in the waiting room I took out my iPhone just to read reviews again. Before I had done this at home, mostly focusing on Google Maps. I did find it strange to have 100% perfect reviews. That's when I found a recent post which included a link (which I can't attach) that exposed the scam that is Aspen Dental. Go on your computer and Google "Aspen Dental PBS" and you'll find a big, long, nasty investigation that was launched looking into shady practices at Aspen Dental. My wife, daughter and I spoke to a aspen dental scheduler weeks ago and made it clear we were looking for a teeth cleanings. The representative waived the general exam and booked three appointments for dental cleaning. We live on Martha's Vineyard, got up early, took a ferry across to Cape Cod and drove to the dental office only to be told that they would not be giving us teeth cleaning today, would charge us for exams only. We would have to come back another time for a teeth cleaning. As you can imagine, we were outraged but the worst of it is that the people in the office showed no remorse and couldn't care at all that their representative had misinformed us they rudely shrugged their shoulders and didn't lift a finger to help solve this clear miscommunication on their part. We asked to speak with the scheduler and they wouldn't share his name. All in all a horrible experience and I will never use their dental services again. read more

I didn't have dental coverage but this office treated me professionally and very kind, including a great cash price and payment plan. They even performed added surgery at no charge. My husband and I were nervous about getting dental work but the whole staff was so welcoming and friendly, greeting us with smiles when we walked in. Very sympathetic to nervous patients and Angela was extremely helpful with helping us get the financing we needed. She patiently explained our options and guided us through the process. I even saw them helping an elderly patient with dementia with kindness and respect. The dentist was very skilled (and fast!). We will be patients for life thank you Aspen! read more

I called them on Monday and confirned they took MassHealth, I recive 2 automated noticed confirming the appointment and then when I get there they say they dont accept MassHealth and that they have to deal with this all the time. I drove 40 minutes out of my way and took the day off work to go there only to be told that I had been given bad information and this is not unusual. Avoid them. read more

My mother had an appt, asked how much and they said $2000, the next day I called ( I'm the daughter ) and told them I got my mother a dental plan and would like to know the cost with discount. They called back and told me it was $1995 the original cost was $4800 for one bridge, I questioned the bait and switch and cancelled the appt. because they had no expaination that was believable. Both my husband and I have experienced Aspen Dental in Hyannis. Dr Taylor is very nice but everything is rushed and like a factory. The receptionist, who is relatively new ( previous one was great) is very indifferent and the financial counselor is absolutely horrible...very cold, ....rude .... no compassion what so ever. I came here after not having dental insurance for a few years and had a dental emergency. One of my teeth was cracked, which lead to the tooth beside it coming loose. So I came here and they did the usual routine X-rays and then a brief dental cleaning, and the outcome of this visit was basically for them just to tell me how awful my teeth are which i knew already and did not attempt to make me feel better and instead of offering other options to fix my teeth they told me I needed 3 extractions, then they said 4, and then 5 as well as a couple root canals and fillings and said I would probably need implants. At the end of the visit I asked what should I do about the loose tooth and they said nothing, which they may have been right, however that was not very soothing to me because that was part of the reason I came in the first place. Went to them because of there ads. I admit the staff is nice. After X-rays, oral exam, and a lot of talk about procedure they said all my upper teeth needed to be extracted and a full denture in place. I was there almost a year ago and was told the same thing. Now the reason for my rating. As I was looking over my summarized list of procedures they were charging me for a OralB Electric Toothbrush at $130.00 which I was asked if I used one and I said no and didn't want one. I was being charged double for removing a bridge and each tooth count on that bridge. I was also being charged double for a Crownporc/High Noble Mtl at $1355.00ea. I was also being charged for a bicuspid root canal on a tooth that was going to be extracted (cost for extraction $384.00) plus the root canal cost of $1162.00. So with all the xtras I decided to get a second opinion. My eyes were open to that as the second opinion was more reasonable and I still keep all my teeth plus the dentist can repair my bridge. So make sure if anybody goes there to read everything. I almost got suckered in to procedures and added costs that are unfair and unnecessary. read more

I aborted treatment at this Aspen Dental office because of its rigid policies, which may be typical of all of this company's offices. I needed a crown to replace a broken bonding by another dentist. I was given the choice of a limited exam and possible treatment or a full exam involving a full set of mouth xrays. Since I wanted only one tooth repaired and didn't want all that radiation, I chose the limited exam. When I arrived, upfront payment was demanded before I could see a dentist, who administered one xray and recommended not only a crown but also a root canal. Then I was asked to wait for 15-20 minutes to see the office manager to "discuss my treatment plan." After this period, during which I stared at the stark surroundings, decorated only by signs bearing dental slogans, I was told that the manager wasn't available. I was asked to come back just to see the manager, who would schedule a third visit for that full set of mouth xrays and then possibly treatment -- by another dentist, since the one who had examined me suddenly took a fortnight's leave. I demurred, suspecting that I'd be told the xrays revealed the need for much more work. I went instead to another dentist, quite excellent, who saw no need for a root canal and eventually installed a perfect crown. read more
