-------A bit about the practice------…read more I have no idea why Dr. Scheiber doesn't have a review here yet but he really, really needs one. He is a sedation dentist specializing in patients who have anxiety issues. I was concerned that I'd be treated like a child as I was in the past but he treated me like a normal person and I want to say about 3/4ths of the visit was just him talking to me, which I really liked. I hate someone who prods around in my mouth, says two sentences, maybe hands me a referral or prescription and that's it. Their online system is awesome. You can book an appointment and fill out new patient paperwork online. Their system is digital, I was able to see the x-ray they took on a computer screen that was on a track above my head while I was in the chair. When he spoke to the assistant, it was IN the room with me, not huddled outside in a hallway. In fact, they don't even really have hallways - the way their rooms are set up provides privacy but also makes for a less confined experience. The decor is beautiful, the practice is immaculately clean and everyone from the front desk to the dentist himself is actually very friendly. ---------my actual review-------------- I have... an issue with dentists. Though my last dentist was okay, he rarely explained anything to me nor did he seem to treat me as a person, just as a number. I was in severe pain as a result of what ended up being a small cavity in a molar. I explained my past experiences to Dr. Scheiber and he took the time to explain different options I had, the procedures and tell me that he wanted to make me comfortable and to gain my trust. He even asked permission to "take a look". I felt extremely comfortable and I don't think I've ever left a dentist's office with a positive feeling until that day. He did offer to replace it for like $300 more than the $900 out of pocket I already gave him After insurance paid like half. I found this unacceptable and didn't want to have my mouth torn apart to PAY HIM for a hopefully white tooth!!!! Hope this review inspires him to do better in the future. I have no doubt he does a lot of nice work but I wasn't a good example of it though. My wifes crown has fallen out twice, and I am not not sure if that is normal. I now have a new insurance plan that they won't even consider b/c they know they won't get as much out these value insurers... If he would still fix my tooth for free I'd rate him 5 out of 5 b/c anyone can have a bad day and maybe my tooth was a reflection of this. I am writing to formally complain about a deeply troubling experience during my mother's…read moreappointment today. My mother is 85 years old, handicapped, and has significant difficulty walking even with a walker. She was scheduled for a denture adjustment appointment at 12:50 PM. At approximately 11:00 AM, I received both a text message and a phone call from your office instructing me to bring my mother through the back entrance so she would not have to walk a long distance. When we arrived, the back door was locked. There was no bell, no signage, and no way to alert staff. It was extremely cold and windy. I attempted to call the main office line multiple times, but no one answered. We waited outside for over five minutes, during which time I could not safely leave my mother standing, as she was at risk of falling. Eventually, a staff member named Melissa opened the door while taking out the trash. She refused to let us enter and repeatedly told us to go to the front entrance, stating that staff "do not work in the back." I calmly and respectfully explained multiple times that your front desk had specifically instructed us to use the back entrance and showed her the text message confirming this. Despite this, she refused to assist us, refused to contact the front desk, and continued questioning me in a confrontational manner rather than helping an elderly disabled patient out of the cold. After several minutes of unnecessary argument, I stated I would take my mother back to the car and go to the front desk myself. Only then did Melissa say my mother could come inside and sit in the waiting area. Shortly afterward, another staff member, Holly, became involved. Instead of addressing the situation or acknowledging the failure in handling a disabled patient, she immediately defended Melissa. At no point did either staff member acknowledge that my mother's safety and comfort should have been the priority. This situation reflects a serious failure in basic customer service, communication, and care for elderly and handicapped patients. At minimum, my mother should have been immediately allowed inside and seated while staff clarified any internal confusion. I expect better treatment for vulnerable patients and hope this matter is taken seriously, and not question patients like some legal experts! I AM TOTALLY SHOCKED THAT I GOT A LETTER FROM CHRISTINE THE OFFICE MANAGER THAT THEY WILL NOT BE PROVIDING SERVICES TO ME ANYMORE, EVEN THOUGH THEY MISTREATED ME AND MY HANDICAP MOTHER, ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!
