My most recent visit on 9/17/2024 Well the freezing waiting room is back again. I would guess the temperature is around 70 degrees and a very cold draft pours down on the incredibly comfortable chairs. The fix is just so simple. The room has 3 very large air diffusers that pour out the cold air. They just need to have the airflow adjusted and there will be two benefits. First patients will no longer be freezing in the room and the AC system will be more efficient through out the building saving energy costs. I hope someone at the practic reads this message and takes action. Such an easy fix. I love all the people at Aspen Dental and they have always taken such good care of my dental needs. My only reason for posting this complaint is to make it an even better place to visit. read more

So I partially broke a molar on Good Friday afternoon. Understandably no dentists were working that I could find. So on Saturday I scheduled an appointment for 10 am on Monday at this location (Lake Wales). Showed up at 09:40 and signed in. They called me up and was told I'd have to come back at 2 pm to see the dentist!! Never going back and do not recommend them for ANY of your dental needs. I do not recommend this office. I made an appointment for a cleaning and while I was in the chair being examined they changed my appointment to a consultation after having my X-Rays done and examination. They said I could not get X-Rays and a cleaning on the same visit. In all the years going there I have always had X-Rays and cleaning on the same visit. This is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. I assume it is a way to drive up charges. Steer clear of this office! read more

Oh my gosh HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT GO THERE. Made an appointment for root canal. If you need a root canal your in pain, and your regular dentist says you need the ROOT CANAL. I schedule a same day appointment. Wonderful! Get there and the Endodontic is only there once a month. What the heck. Why waste my time? They say it's the Florida answering service that doesn't know. I do not recommend using this company, They won't let you speak with a manager keep saying mgr was busy. The person I spoke with Talia she tried to speak over me accused me of not accepting an appointment, keep putting me on hold she said she was a lead I had to deal with her. I scheduled a consultation after not going to the Dentist for 18 months due to moving and other personal issues. The hygienist explained the treatment option for dental concerns. We scheduled the 2 appointments for treatment and also for cancer screening (cancer screening was $30) my hsa card covered this. I had a co-pay of $70 but i believe it was worth it and i paid it with my hsa card. For my routine cleaning it will be no co-pay. They are friendly and quick. I will be scheduling my childrens appointment at this location. read more

First of all..Girls up front definitely need more training. Waited 15 min before anyone even came to the front, then called me back before I finished enrolling. Told me they were at lunch. Not the friendliest either. Everyone in the back was super nice. Explained everything perfectly. Told me I had 3 cavities which I knew of coming from another dentist. So, I go up front for scheduling after my exam and they tell me I "HAD" to get a very expensive gum cleaning ($1700) prior to having my 3 cavities filled. They will not touch your teeth without it!! I have never been to a dentist that make you pay a god awful amount for a cleaning. What a huge scam! Even with insurance it was $800!!! Seriously?! read more

I went to make a partial, after a few weeks I returned to pick up and get the partial fitted. They kept trying to fix the partial, but guess what!!?? They made an incorrect partial! In order for it to fit, I had to extract a tooth! Sure, I was told I could return another few weeks and they would try and redo the partial; however, I told them, and everyone knew I had a family reunion the day after my partial was made and could NOT go looking like a 'gummy bear', since I have had that partial cracked on me, I had to locate a new dentist in my new county and the missing tooth is permantly giving issues when it comes to fitting, because of the error they made. I had a consultation with a dentist at the Lake Wales location. Since the new owner took over, the floor and chair in the procedure/consultation room were both dirty. The technician had to play with the Xray machine several times to get it to work, and it rattled and clattered when it moved. Then for the pricing, I had to sit out in the open and hear all the procedures and prices while they were yelled out. Definitely HIPPA violations. The whole visit was so unprofessional, I have to wonder if these people are even real dentists. read more

Very unsatisfied with the service and product quality that they use. I need a crown on one of my teeth, they put a temporary one and it has fallen off 2 times within a lapse of less that 1 week. I've had crowns before and this has never happened. I still have to wait for my permanent crown to come in, but It makes me wonder if the glue that they use, is going to be as cheap as the one for my temporary crown. Also, the cleaning here sucks. I am from up north and a regular clean there is deep clean and includes them blushing your teeth at the end. Down here, you have to pay extra for that type of cleaning. Just not a content or satisfied customer for the amount that I am paying for their crappy work. read more

I have gone here since Ive moved in the area. I did my wisdom teeth surgery, cleanings, and fillings at Aspen. All of my dental work has been done without any issues. My appointments are always on time and the staff are very kind and helpful. I can usually get scheduled the same week when I make appointments. Highly recommend going here. read more

This is my second visit to this dentist. It was CLEANING DAY! Only $10 co-pay! New job 7 months ago got us dental insurance again. Picked this dentist strictly because of insurance compatibility... Glad we did! Wife and teenage kids have already been here several times for x-rays, cleanings, and tooth extractions. Staff has been extremely pleasant and helpful every trip. X-ray guy is great. Liz did a great job with the cleaning. They are all so personable. Had to have antibiotics for my deep cleaning; one phone call yesterday and they took care of calling in my prescription to my pharmacy. I highly recommend this location for your dental needs. It is located next to Dunkin Donuts at the Publix/Kohl's shopping center called Shoppes On The Ridge. It is on the east side of 27, north of the Eagle Ridge Mall. read more

This review describes my experience with Aspen Dental, detailing my July 31, 2023 visit to the Lake Wales Office. My primary reason for the dental visit was to obtain an overall appraisal of my dental health, and to also have a broken tooth repaired. I am 78 years old and my have no problems with my teeth or gums. The only problem was the aforementioned broken tooth. So I was provided with a free extensive exam, many many x-rays, a panoramic recorded view of the interior of my mouth. A dental hygienists evaluated my gum condition, and finally the resident dentist examined my teeth. We discussed the broken tooth and to my pleasant surprise he agreed to build up a structure to repair it, but would rather crown it for a better long lasting repair. I campaigned for the repair verses the crown. I was then directed to the financial consultant (?). This lady in my humble opinion exudes the presence of a used car dealer closing agent. She stated that typically they do the Gum Therapy first before the repair. I countered that I would rather have the repair done first. She checked with the dentist and said he could not perform the repair until prescribed gum therapy was done. She advised me that the price of the tooth repair build up was $109.00, which I felt was a fair charge for what is actually a large filling. But then she advised me again that the dentist could perform the tooth repair until they completed gum therapy, and it was only $2276.60 with a $171.80 follow up. It is my hope that people reading this review will recognize the fraud that is being perpetrated here. I'm sure the Hygienist will swear that my gums are in dire need of therapy. I waterpick my gums without fail on a daily basis,they do not bleed, they are not swollen, and my teeth are not sensitive. This is opposed to their evaluation that my gums are infected, receding, with bone loss. I feel that as an elderly person they would gladly bilk me out of a large sum of money, and sell it with a slick financial agreement. I am currently in communication with the state Attorney's Office to ascertain if this warrants a criminal investigation. In closing my advice is to seek dental care elsewhere. read more

I went for a check up and was bs'd into a "periodontal disease" plan costing over $2000. Then at the end of the appt. I'm handed a goody bag and a Braun power toothbrush. They said "this is for you", I assumed it was given to me. It showed up on the bill costing me $135 and a $45 bottle of mouthwash. My gut feeling when they starting doing all these X-ray procedures and then telling me I had a problem was to leave the office immediately. This dental business is all about unnecessary treatment at your cost. Since when do you talk to 5 different people to get a routine checkup and teeth cleaning. I was very unhappy with this office I've been going to Aspen dental in Grand Blanc Michigan for years. I was very surprised to get very pushy office manager who tried to sell me a 135.00 dollar toothbrush. I had never in MI had a hard sell attempt at Aspen dental before & was very disappointed. I was traveling from California on a 6 weeks road trip vacation! A emergency tooth pain brought me into the Office! Friendly staff and very accommodating! X-rays and exam was done ! Referral was made and they did arrangements for an Endodontist who then referred me to an Oral Surgeon! All of this done in one day to send me on my way! Did I mention Aspen Dental did not charge me for any services! They made my vacation plans feel like they were uninterrupted! I would highly recommend them! read more

I had such high anxiety & I was in an extreme amount of pain from an abscessed tooth & as a walk-in & first time patient, they took me in & treated me like family. My husband & I haven't been to the dentist in over 12 years because we had a bad experience together in Orlando where we were judged and shamed for not regularly seeing a dentist. This was so not the case at Aspen Dental in Lake Wales on 2/7/18. My experience was so amazing, I have a second appointment & will be setting up my husband for one. I cannot fully express my gratitude for how well I was treated. They all handled me with kid gloves even though I was a mess crying from pain & anxiety. You just earned to patients for the foreseeable future. Thank you so much. This is for the Lake Wales, FL office. Be very careful in using this dentist. For older children and adults, they do not do cleanings at the time of the exam (which is not very clear when setting an appointment) and you will have to schedule a second appointment for a cleaning when most other dentists do both at once. After the exam, they will tell you what "type" of cleaning you need. It doesn't seem like "standard" cleanings are something they do. I listened to their spiel with other clients who were also having their consultations around us at the same time and it is quite the upcharge and sales pitch they all have going on. Our (very good) dental insurance is supposed to cover in-network exams/xrays/cleanings in full. After the exam, they told me my teeth were in great shape and I only needed a special cleaning that would be $120 above and beyond what my insurance pays. They told my husband his cleaning would be around $900 more than what insurance pays. In addition to those costs, after the exam/xrays, there was still an additional $71 owed beyond our insurance coverage. They push additional services (i.e. Invisalign) like used car dealers. They also do not explain things well and gloss over things quickly. They strongly push Care Credit to cover their outrageous fees. Be careful if you sign up for a Care Credit card through them. While you think you are only signing up for a card, they also slyly throw in a contract for the services they are recommending and charging half of it up front, even when the service is never even scheduled nor completed. They will not refund your money either and you will be stuck with a charge for services never received. Please be careful with using them and know what you are getting into beforehand and read all paperwork rather than just listening to them talking you through it. The all-around experience has given us a very strong feeling of deception and dishonesty. I had an opportunity to listen to parts of the spiel they were giving the couple next to us and it really seems like something it just not right with the way they do business at this place. I will be contacting the BBB and our insurance provider regarding their business practices. read more

n the past I received products and procedures that I did not request and was charged for. This time when I tried to check in they told me that they were going to do the same thing as last time. I objected and told them that I just wanted the simple cleaning that the insurance company was going to pay for. The office manage told me that they would not do that. And that it would be illegal for them to do that. I ask her to tell me what law that was. She couldn't do that and asked me to leave the office. Apparently Aspen Dental has never heard of the patients Bill of Rights which stats: The text of the AAPS Patients' Bill of Rights reads: "All patients should be guaranteed the following freedoms: To seek consultation with the physician(s) of their choice; To contract with their physician(s) on mutually agreeable terms; To be treated confidentially, with access to their records limited to those involved in their care or designated by the patient; To use their own resources to purchase the care of their choice; To refuse medical treatment even if it is recommended by their physician(s); To be informed about their medical condition, the risks and benefits of treatment and appropriate alternatives; To refuse third-party interference in their medical care, and to be confident that their actions in seeking or declining medical care will not result in third-party-imposed penalties for patients or physicians; To receive full disclosure of their insurance plan in plain language, including: 1.CONTRACTS: A copy of the contract between the physician and health care plan, and between the patient or employer and the plan; 2.INCENTIVES: Whether participating physicians are offered financial incentives to reduce treatment or ration care; 3.COST: The full cost of the plan, including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles; 4.COVERAGE: Benefits covered and excluded, including availability and location of 24-hour emergency care; 5.QUALIFICATIONS: A roster and qualifications of participating physicians; 6.APPROVAL PROCEDURES: Authorization procedures for services, whether doctors need approval of a committee or any other individual, and who decides what is medically necessary; 7.REFERRALS: Procedures for consulting a specialist, and who must authorize the referral; 8.APPEALS: Grievance procedures for claim or treatment denials; 9.GAG RULE: Whether physicians are subject to a gag rule, preventing criticism of the plan." Great dental office staff is awesome. They don't rip you off and Dr. Bangash is excellent.

In the past, we have had no problems with this practice. However, on my wife's recent visit, she was charged a co-pay even though our insurance does not require a co-pay for preventative visits. This was the first time they ever collected a co-pay. We confirmed with our insurance company that they should never have collected a co-pay. When we called to request that this money be refunded, Brandy from the office was very rude and refused to refund the money and insisted that it was owed. It took intervention by our insurance company as well as Dawn from Aspen's corporate branch in order to get a refund. From the other reviews, it looks like Dawn, who is the epitome of customer service, will have her work cut out for her in repairing the damage caused by certain staff in this practice. My recent visit was very disorganized. They had me get out of the chair twice because they failed to check that it was time for x-rays, then they said that I needed extra services for which they made me get back out of the chair and go up to the front desk with my credit card to pay. Even though I have been to this practice for a couple of years and have always paid when service is rendered, they apparently did not recognize me as a valuable and trusted customer. A note to the reviewers that got a request from Dawn to get in touch with her; please reach out to her. She really cares and is very responsive. For the past week, I've been trying to make a new patient appt and actually attend one. I've had two appointments in the last week, one last friday and one today and both times they were canceled without notification! Friday, I showed up for my appt and they told me, "It looks like they canceled your appointment because they didn't receive confirmation." So, I have to drive to the office for my appointment to find out that I don't have one? Why did I receive an email and text expecting my visit that same morning? Anyways, I tried again. I had to reschedule for an earlier appointment than she gave me because I wanted this done asap. So, a few days in advance, I made an appointment for today. I got to the parking lot and I don't see anybody here. I tried calling on the way and it seemed as if they were closed. But I thought to myself, how could their online system allow me to schedule an appt knowing they would be closed? Especially if I made sure to properly confirm it this time---to avoid it being canceled. There was a sign on their door that read, "As of dec. 31 our times have been changed." This was fine as my appt was 2 hours before this new closing time. When I went back to my account online, it showed me that I didn't have any "upcoming appointments." Why didn't they just let me know? In both situations? I really though this place would be great, I was just trying to transfer from across the street because of insurance read more

I was one of the children who was scared to death of dentist. I didn't keep up good dental care. Now, as an adult, I have had my first 2 visits at Aspen Dental with a lot more coming to improve the health of my teeth. The office has very nice, staff who are willing to help in any way possible. I had a really bad tooth that needed to come out. I called all around and prices where just to much with no insurance. I called Aspen Dental and no charge for my doctors visit or exam. To have my tooth pulled was a price I could afford. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I had to wait almost 3 weeks before they got me in there for an appointment even though I explained I was in alot of pain. I called Aspen Dental in Sebring (They are all individually owned and operated, I was in pain and asked Google for thier local office number and called them) I was unaware at the time as I was in pain and need of a dentist thier office number rings thru to a central office in NY and answers ALL the office numbers, I was assuming that I was talking with the office staff) this morning to have a New patient appointment, I had a broken tooth and I told them this 3 times and was told that there was a opening at the (almost 1 hour from home) Lake Wales, FL which I agreed to be at that office at 4:30 pm today 5/8/2019, I took it, I was told to be there 10 minutes early for new patient paperwork, I was there doing paperwork by 10 after 4, I was told when I turned in my paperwork to have a seat and they would be with me. At 4:45 pm pm I was called to the front desk and told it would be seen at 5:30 pm today and I could either wait or they would reschedule, I was willing to wait, at 5:30 pm, (3rd time)I was again called to the front desk and told that they would reschedule my appointment for another time, I reminded then that I had driven a hour to get to thier location and was told, sorry as if it was not thier problem, this a a great way to get/treat NEW patients, NOT !! My recommendation is that anyone and everyone should AVOID them at all costs. I will NEVER recommend them to anyone unless it is someone I hate. read more

Not sure the associates like their jobs. Nobody smiled. I thought that was what Aspen promoted. Receptionist at the front called me back, told me the cost of the visit, then said to have a seat. No smile. Hygienist thought the inside of my mouth was burned when in fact I had told her it was from the use of my respiratory inhalers. Check out girl never smiled. She wrote my old address on the paper, never made eye contact, said sign here with this. End of that interaction. I left the office and wondered just how bad working there could be. I went here on a recommendation of a friend. the office is clean & the staff & Dr. are very nice & professional. had e-rays, saw the Dr & had teeth cleaning. this was maybe Jan. 2016. now the bad. at the time I did not get a bill. I thought maybe you had a central billing center & I'd get one in the mail. kept looking for it and after a time forgot about it. imagine my surprise a week ago ~ when I get a call from collection agency. I asked for a bill to be mailed to me ~ since I will not give out my credit card to an unknown woman on the phone. I checked the mail every day & no bill. now in all this time from my appointment until know I never heard anything from Aspen Dental. it would have been a simple matter to pay the bill. I got another phone call from collection agency & requested then mail a bill. the very rude man kept talking over me. Nice and Friendly place , Service is fair and they are knowledgeable. The only thing I will say is if you go to any Dentist have them print you out a plan of what they are going to do. Then you can see the price and charges before hand and your insurance company if you have one can provide you with your out of pocket cost after they pay there portion . I also find that the scheduling at this office is over crowded and when you go it seems everyone was squeezed in and you feel rushed to get your teeth done and out like an assembly line. The office is so much more different from the office I came from which was more professional Aspen South Florida .... I chose this office closer to my house and there is a big difference on service and booking of clients . I rated them a three on cleanliness and friendliness and feel room for improvement can be made . The Dentist and Staff are very comfortable to be around and they are professional . read more

The dental hygienist and the dentist here are great. The front desk however do not have good customer service skills and nobody seems to get the billing right. I have been billed several times and wanted to know why when I have a credit account. I called to get more information after sending a payment and they told me that the office manager would call me back. When he didn't, I called again. The manager assured me that he would look into it and call me back however, he did not. After two weeks had gone by yet again, I called. This time I was furious to find out that they had checked on the situation and I was not meant to be billed at all. The office said they had already fixed the issue.... how could they have fixed the issue if they kept the check I Sent in? Not only had they not called me back but they were not going to let me know that they owed me almost $200 either. Everything with billing at this place has to be watched closely because they certainly are not on top of it. If I would not have followed up that money would not have been returned. read more
