Apsen Dental has lost my business. Billed my insurance for a silver filling and don't even do silver fillings. Along with other things they can't do. They have to send you to another dentist which be a waste of money just to say you do not need a root canal. I paid the amount I was told to pay the day of my filling that the insurance did not cover. Yesterday I get a bill in the mail from Aspen Dental saying O by the way you still owe this amount because we had to adjust the type of filling we gave you. But you didn't tell me the day of the filling. Billing Management is just HORRIBLE every time you go it's a different price than what was said at first. DON'T GO TO THE ASPEN DENTAL ON MARKHAM. I called to try to schedule an appointment to be seen ASAP due to my tooth pain. I assume making an appointment would be the easy part. I wish I would remember her name but she was very rude! I have been to this location before but it's been a couple of years ago. I gave her my name and DOB. She said she couldn't find me in the system, which was fine because it's been a couple of years ago. I said that's ok it's been a minute, so how long do you hold past history patients? She said for a while but normally we would have had something in your file if you have been with us. We just are going to have to put you as a new patient. Now mind you I'm in excruciating pain at this moment and she was basically calling me a liar. Even though I didn't say this to her because I was hurting in pain and getting irritated I still had the temporary implant that they gave me years ago. To be in the customer service industry you need to know how to treat your customers. With over 20+years of experience I would have never made a customer feel that way. It seems like she was deliberately repeating oh you were never a patient here and I know I have been there before. I never been so furious mostly because I was in pain and secondly I couldn't believe she was calling me a liar. I said you know what I will take my business elsewhere and hung up the phone. I called to check on my crowns, to see if they had come in yet. They had not, although I had been told that it would be no longer than 7 days. I was okay with that. I don't mind waiting. But I also asked about getting my lower partial adjusted. I was told that I could make an appointment for two weeks out for that. I replied, "Two weeks? So I have to stay in pain for two weeks?" She said, "I just won't deal." And hung up on me. My dental bill that I'm having to pay is $15,000. I don't expect to be hung up on when I get a little testy. I wasn't really that testy. I was asking more like - hey, can't you sneak me in for a quick adjustment. In addition, while the rest of the staff are very kind and professional, the dentist is a bit - well, she's nice, but my mouth has never hurt like that before, just to have some teeth prepped for crowns. NEVER GO TO Markham Aspen Dental. The doctor pulled all of my teeth and he was supposed to pull only one. They damaged the nerves in my gums, and caused over three infections. A specialist was there once and he showed my daughter how to treat the infection. I was finally seen in December 14, 2021 when the dentist gave me the wrong prescription which would have been fatal had I taken it. Dr. Darryl Ragland, Dr. Darryl Ragland, DDS - Dentist, Cosmetic Dentist, Dental Pain Specialist is the person who messed my mouth up initially. He gave me no anesthesia and he was supposed to pull only two teeth and pulled all of them. I have been in severe pain since and now I am at my 3rd dentist to get this matter rectified. I lost over 45 pounds because I couldn't eat and to date I still can't chew due to the pain in my gums and the cutting of the dentures. I complained to Ashlee (501)-710-6932 the regional dental manager and she never cared to get me a resolution. She just kept giving me appointments to return and often they wouldn't even send in a dentist, just the assistants. I live 30 miles away and it has been so unfair of this malpractice and mistreatment. The office manager, Frances took a Dare to Care. There was a visiting doctor and I was in tears. He put some type of brown compound in my mouth and literally had to show my daughter how to treat me because dry sockets with infection had developed and the assistant was still telling me nothing is wrong and to buy orajel and come back in a week. In the interim, they were running my medical bills up and also charging my care credit. The pharmacist confirmed it was not for pain and could have killed me. My daughter, Vonda Thomas - filed a complaint and we never went back. They are inept and kept trying to get me to go to North Little Rock and try. COVID was running rapid and they had no water at that location so we stopped every visit to save my life. I have reported them to the AR Attorney General Office in January 2021and again today to refund my money and remove this fraudulent report on my excellent credit file with Experian, Tansunion and Equifax. Two stars. i'm new to the area and needed to establish some dental care here and unfortunately i chose the wrong place to go. The RDH was great, as was the employee who did my imaging and the front desk employees! They were kind, patient and professional. I was very appreciative of them. However the DDS wanted me to spend 2 grand on braces that I do not need because i've had orthodontics done and my teeth are very healthy. She also wanted me to get my canines shaved down because they're "too pointy", I disagree. Her focus felt too high on cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry than oral health itself. I then waited over an hour for a cleaning, which i never ended up getting because the wait was too long. I ended up asking for a refund for the cleaning and leaving. This was not the fault of the hygienist, but the fault of the company, their time management, and their lack of staffing. Very disappointing that these issues have created a barrier to patient care. read more

Very bad experience with one of the dentists. I'd had a crown fall out right in front - they did X-rays & saw some decay, so she said that would need to be repaired. I asked if she could cement my crown in until I could get it fixed. She was so rude & said that she couldn't & said she'd go work up a plan. I was horrified that a woman dentist couldn't understand why I would want that cemented until repair time. She never gave me her name - but walked out of there and just moved on. The dental tech got my X-rays for me & was very polite & helpful. The front desk had been helpful too - it was just the dentist. Her lack of concern & consideration shocked me. While me and my husband were out of town, he had a dental emergency. He tried calling his regular dentist and that was no help. He called aspen dental by our hotel and they not only saw him right away, they were kind and sensitive to his needs. It also helped a pharmacy next door and was able to go get a script . They don't deserve one start but sadly that is the min Aspen dental is not about their patients best interest but about how much they can sell to you! I went to aspen dental after a crown fell off a tooth. I should have left after literally spending an entire afternoon at their office only to be given a bill for $1500. Upon returning for prep on the crown, dr Ragland began drilling on the wrong tooth. The hygienist quickly tells him he's on the wrong tooth of which he replies "I'm still jet lagged". If that wasn't bad enough, dr Ragland hits my tongue with the drill! The temp crown fell off numerous times & I had to return 3 different occasions before even having the final crown put on. Now fast ff to my next cleaning with an actual dentist that cares & im told that the tooth aspen put a crown on is abscessed & not only does it have to be extracted but the tooth next to it does as well!! I contact aspen corporate & was told "we don't have any obligation to tell you if a tooth is Abscessed if you don't come in with pain on that tooth". I'm out $10k for implants on those two teeth & aspen would only refund me for the crown! I had to even fight for that!! I have no clue how this place even stays in business. They are a complete unprofessional, unethical place to go. I wouldn't take my dog to this place!!! Dr Ragland & his team of high school girls should be shut down. I give them a negative 5, they filed FRAUDULENT insurance claims and then billed me A YEAR LATER because they werent paid. never told me that they were billing under another doctors name that is no longer at the practice. then turned the bill over to collections. everytime i called to speak with someone at the office it was a different person that was clueless. the staff changes monthly, very ill informed.....just stay away from this place!!!! read more

My husband had an appointment at 8am and was told to be there at 7:45 to fill out paperwork. There was no one there till around 8am. We went in and not a soul to be seen. He hollered to let them know he was there. Nothing. By this time it was 8:10. He called them and was informed they have "meetings" every morning? From the minute I made my appointment, I started reminder texts, including one the day before stating that's it was very important for me to call, only to find out that the purpose was to once again confirm. I arrive 10 minutes early and get escorted to the back twenty minutes late. The X-ray tech spends the entire time telling me how sick she is, has a temp and is loaded up on meds. She is so bad with the technology, she shoves it into my mouth triggering my gag reflex to the point that I had to stop or throw up. She finishes finally, then takes me into a "green room", ala Maury. 45 min later I'm taken to an examination room and sit for another 45 minutes. I've finally had enough and tell them I'm leaving, response.... blank stares! Not sure what their concept is, but trust me, choose somebody other then aspen dental. read more
