Dr. Samra is the best dentist I have ever had, she is a professional in every sense of the word. The Manager, Ms. Hirsch is also on another level than what I am use to getting around here, she really runs a tight ship and cleared up all my questions on the treatment plan. Aspen Dental is always trying to sell you what you don't want or need! I've been to the one in Hickory, NC and Morganton, NC. I have a tooth I've been dealing with for over ten years. There is nothing wrong with the tooth except occasionally something gets under the gum and causes an infection. They want to do root canals or extract it and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it other than the once every 2-3 year infection. My old dentist just flushed it and put me on antibiotics and a week later, all is well. Today I called to make an appointment because it's acting up again. They told me emergency visits are only for new patients and I would have to wait 2 weeks before they could see me!!! Well, what about your current ones?? Are we not important anymore now that you got our $$!?! Total BS!! Went to the new urgent care and the doctor gave me an antibiotic to kill the infection! It's in your mouth and you swallow anything and it's in your system and you become septic! Should I sue them for refusing an emergency?? Will never set foot in there again!! If I could give this corporation less than 1 star I would. Care and Dentists are good but their billing system is horrible. At the first visit, I was given an estimate of costs which I agreed to but by the time all was complete, costs were more. I have dental insurance so I thought - no problem - this is manageable. NO be ready for some very large expenses out of pocket. During the course of treatment, no one in the office or at the billing 800 number could tell me what had been paid for by insurance and even though I repeated asked for itemized statements, it took me months to get one the most rudimentary ledger. The office was unable to tell me what the insurance company had paid, what they had sent for payment or what had been denied. In December 2023, I contacted them to get an itemized statement and paid them what I was told would be a final amount - guess what - that didn't age well. Two days ago I received ANOTHER statement. Received a call and they said in four days they are available. Phone dropped call and now can't get through and no return call. Do not go to Aspen Dental in Morganton, NC. I have insurance and when I made the first and only appointment with them back in February I gave my insurance information well in advance. This is a place that will run a con on you even with insurance they don't do their homework first and know what your insurance coverage will pay on first visits and what your cost will be after the visit so you know if you should proceed with keeping the visit or limiting what you feel you need with full disclosure of estimated costs. They ran x-ray images that I aged out of and insurance would not pay as a result, they never informed me of the doctor who was conducting my initial first visit check-up turns out was a doctor out of network who was merely filling in at their office since they did not have a doctor currently employed at the Morganton office location. Thus a claim showing how much I owed. I chose this local dentist because of its proximity and it was one on the list of my approved insurance in-network providers. If they want to pull in doctors from other practices they need to let all patients know of this before their appointments so they can decide to go to another practice that will remain in-network or report this office to the Insurance NC Inspector for fraudulent representation and for that matter, the insurance company should deny payment until they investigated themselves as to why an out of network how an out-of-network dentist was practicing at an in-network facility listed for patients with this specific insurance coverage. So stay away. Aspen of Morganton staff are not, in my opinion, demonstrating professional or industry knowledge and appear incompetent. the staff has a very high turnover rate. They need to clean out and move on out. They will sit you down and when you are down present you with a care plan with their recommendations and it is nothing more than locking you in with payment plans etc...Stop don't getting hooked get running to another dentist within your network always check that the doctor is indeed in the network or when you arrive and see the actual doctor that is. read more

The dental assistant/hygienist And Dentist, kept me waiting for an hour. My appointment was at 1000 for two extractions. The staff seemed scatter brained, each apologized for my wait but none of the staff were aware of why I was there. Nothing was in my chart bc each time I've been it's been a different dentist and different hygienist. The dentist who I saw was nice but she has caused a lot of unnecessary pain. I had 2 extracted, the top molar came out easy and quick. However, my 2nd molar extracted on my lower right side was more stubborn and instead of stopping and assessing she kept going. Since Tuesday I've had severe pain which was enough to go to the ER right now. I tried calling the dentist Wednesday and left voicemails but never received a call back, which is why I had to go to the ER. The ER doctor told me I had a severe infection where the bottom molar was which is why I was having so much pain! He wrote an Rx for me and numbed me before sending me home. Friday I drove to see another Dentist in my home town an hour away where he came in on his day off just to help me out, he did it and did not charge me anything. I've started to do research on Aspen dental and the business itself is not accredited by the BBB or Better Business .... Additionally, In late April 2023, Aspen Dental announced that it was the victim of a cyberattack that shut down its appointment scheduling systems, phone systems, and other business applications. I was never informed my information was compromised and this explains why. I was just told their WiFi was down but I deserved to know that my personal data was compromised. This is a huge HIPPA violation! Don't go to any Aspen dental do your research on Aspen. I'll never go to another Aspen Dental again. read more

If I could, I would give Aspen Dental a 0. Not only did they grind my teeth down on one side unevenly, but they also gave me two additional fillings into teeth I had no problem with. That was 2 months ago, and I can't eat chips etc., on them, as they're now too sensitive. I had about 30 X-rays at Aspen, and I've tried to get them to forward it to a new dentist. I've called three times over the last 6 weeks with no response. They are a corporate dentist. Stay away. read more

One star is too good for this place. On Sunday, the 8th, I called Aspen dental for an emergency visit for my 14 y.o. son. Was given an appt for Friday, 13th at 12pm. We ended up at the ER for his tooth that same Sunday and was given antibiotic for infection. Friday morning, I called Aspen Dental to verify the appt due to all the COVID 19 mess and was confirmed 12p. Upon arriving 30 min early, we are told that no hygienist is available to see him and would need to see him first as he was a new patient. I explained that I verified his appt that same morning and all 3 women at the desk denied having talked to me. LIES!! So that so called caring place sent a child away in severe pain on a Friday when nobody else was open, cost me time off from work for the appt, and a lil over an hour round trip drive to the office. I highly recommend to avoid Aspen Dental (chain) at ALL costs. They will examine you, find anything that could possibly require work, including cosmetic issues, and prepare a plan with enormous detail and premium pricing for each line item and argue with you to accept the entire plan. They will refuse service if you want to go ala cart. Its all or nothing. I wanted to postpone some work for financial reasons till next year and the dentist refused my crown and root canal ($2600) on the grounds that she couldn't live with herself if she didn't do some ($2700) worth of periodontal work first. How is her emotional health my concern? All I came in with was a chipped molar and no pain. Total bill would have been over $8000. I went to a local dentist recommended by my good neighbor the next day (today) who repaired the tooth for under $500. Although a crown was recommended long term it was cheaper and no root canal required or indicated. Be warned. read more
