It was done in under 10 minutes, there is no way my teeth were cleaned properly that quick. In all the years of getting cleanings they have been 20-30 minute cleanings. I do not recommend him to anyone. I wish I would of chosen another location to use my new insurance on. I could go on and on about this visit. He was very rude to my husband about all of his concerns that he had and was very short with his answers as well. His X-Ray Tech was very sweet and nice and the dental assistant was sweet in the room, that was probably the only positive thing about the visit. We spent more time in waiting room, getting x-rays, and at checkout than we did in the room with the dentist during our cleaning and consult.

I signed up for the waitlist with Dr. Criss and got a text for a first come first serve cancellation 2 weeks earlier than scheduled. Yes!! This place only takes ERS dental coverage (ie state/college employees) and Medicaid, so if you don't have those it's out of pocket. The wait room is colorful and festive. There are iPads for the kids to play on as well. Check in process was quick. The actual dental staff was SO friendly and knew just how to work with my son (who's had some bad dental experiences). He is very hard to get to sit still and keep his hands to himself. (He'll push away the staff if he feels what they're doing hurts). The dental hygienist (by a miracle) got my son to keep his hands on his belly the entire time for her cleaning and exam. She even went out of her way to check our insurance to make sure he was due for a cleaning and it would be covered. (Confusion with my son having two dental plans previously). The hygienist patiently waited while my son picked out the perfect toothbrush for his cleaning bag. She chatted with him in language he understood about better brushing (which isn't easy with a newly turned 5 year old). I also watched the staff have incredible patience with a special needs client in the office that day. The child clearly had an aversion to being touched and compliant, but the staff rocked it with distractions. Dr. Criss was fabulous as well!! She listened to the problems, asked my son in his own words what was wrong and even helped us with other behavior issues (ie - finger sucking). Dr. Criss gave us tools and gadgets at no cost to take home and try. A plus was Dr. Cross grew up with our prior dentist (who's 5 hours away)! The world is a small place and we were blessed to find Dr. Criss here in Nacogdoches. I don't want anyone else to touch my son's teeth. I feel like she's set a new bar for my son to enjoy going to the dentist now.

I've come in on 2 different occasions where I'd seen other Drs or PAs that didn't help much, one visit with him, he figured out and treated my issue while explaining his logic and reasoning behind treatment. Anytime I've seen Dr Mark Cline, I actually had improvement from his treatment. There are other Dr. Clines in office so make sure if you want great care it's the older gentleman, he knows what he's talking about. The only negative experience I've had in this office was one of my first visits, it was with the younger gentleman also named Dr Cline, but I believe he is Eric Cline. I went to see him, he listened sort of, but answered a phone call in the middle of the visit then I was charged for 2 appointments because of the long appointment time... he may have been having an off day. But I wanted to point this out because there are 2 gentleman Dr Clines... but they are not the same so if you've seen the younger one and aren't happy, try Mark Cline the older Dr Cline. I am leaving a one-star review due to repeated substandard care, misleading explanations, and…read morerefusal to take responsibility for permanent dental damage. I initially came in for a cavity on my front tooth. I was told a root canal might be needed but was advised a filling was sufficient and that the tooth was "fine." When I left, the tooth was visibly bright yellow and rough. I raised this concern immediately and was told to "GIVE IT TIME" and that if the tooth did not turn black, it could be visually corrected later. I relied on this explanation in good faith. It was later disclosed that the office did not have the correct enamel shade or proper finishing tools to restore the tooth. I returned for a second visit solely to correct the appearance. A different dentist again drilled the tooth, confirmed a root canal was not needed, and stated the office still lacked the correct shade and tools. During this visit, the dentist's hand slipped, chipping my front tooth and injuring my gum, causing prolonged bleeding. The tooth was left yellow and further damaged. My front tooth has now been drilled twice and is structurally compromised. I have since been advised that an IMPLANT is now my only option--an outcome that may have been avoided with proper care and transparency. Additional concerns include poorly placed fillings that prevent flossing, over-sanding of another tooth, and being charged for a cleaning that did not occur. Despite this, no refund, corrective care, or accountability was offered. As a military wife and mother without dental insurance, all care was paid out of pocket. If you value transparency, quality work, and accountability--especially for visible dental work--I recommend seeking care elsewhere rather than Deluxe Dental in Nacogdoches, Texas.
