Another visit to my dental clinic. Unlike other dentists who only deals with one cavity at a time,…read moremaking it more expensive adding dr visit charges on top of each tooth problem. My dentist was able to fill 5 (FIVE) ! Cavities on one visit ! They put a plastic rubber mold in my mouth which made it easy for me to keep my mouth open & did it efficiently and Very quick for the amount of work he had to do. When he finished, I actually said, "Your done already?! You did Everything?! I'm amazed at the staff there! Only one job for each staff member. They work like a well greased wheel. No backups or mistakes & they all work well together ! The staff have been together for years & have been picked to fit with each other. So polite to each other & happy! They have radio transmitters for big jobs like mine. They can call in staff, extra supplies, & can connect with each other if need be. ALL of this makes a relaxed happy patient. We Know we are in competent hands. Go see them. Insurances taken here.

I wish I could post that, as it details my…read moreexperience from start to finish (I know I would've liked to see this before I went in), but it was too long for Yelp. I'll just share a few bullet points about my wisdom teeth removal experience: - The dentist does not come across as very friendly or sympathetic. It might just be the way he talks, but it's not all that reassuring when you're undergoing surgery from him. - A couple of the dental assistants are very nice, but some of them seem sort of antisocial, which, again, is not very reassuring. - The communicated everything I was about to experience and what I needed to know for recovery very well. - I was not knocked out for my procedure, and the valium and nitrous they gave me didn't do much to make me sleepy either, so I was very alert and conscious throughout the procedure. - I felt every hit with the hammer, every stab of the needle, and every breaking of the tooth. It was horrifying. - They gave me a break midway through and told me we could wait and do the other half later, which I appreciated. I wanted to get it over with. - Every second of it was painful (though numbed, I felt all the pressure). I had a panic attack in the middle of it and cried twice - and I'm not usually the type to react like that. - The cost was decent. Overall, I don't think I'll be back to LOL. I feel slightly traumatized by what I experienced, though I don't know if this is the normal experience.

I have two adult sons with mental retardation, and Dr Boozer was recommended as a good dentist that…read moredoes sedation. HE IS A GREAT DENTIST! Has fantastic bedside manner and my guys really liked him. However, their first visit was really rushed. It is impossible to clean, examine or do bite wing X-rays in my sons without sedation. However sedation was not scheduled at this time. So the hygienists tried to clean as best they could and Dr Boozer looked in their mouth briefly and said he didn't see anything bad. Well then they were basically escorting us out and I asked "what about a panoram?" The tech answered "you can't see cavities with a pano." To which I replied "it's better than nothing!" So they did a pano and Dr Boozer came in to look at it and said "uh oh... that's bad." My son had a HUGE abscess in his gum above a molar. We were scheduled for sedation treatment and left. Had I not asked for the pano, my son could have had some serious medical issues from the abscess and infection. He had not complained about pain, as he's practically immune to pain due to his disability. The sedation procedure was at an outpatient facility and we waited for two hours before they took us back, no food or water of course. Then another hour on the gurney before they took him back. His anxiety level was MAXED OUT! So I decided to look for a different dentist. I made my other sons appointment at Smith Dental and everything was thorough, not rushed, and all in office. The anesthesiologists came TO the office and all was finished very quickly. Very little anxiety and thorough checkup and cleaning under sedation. Now I'm not saying Boozer is bad place.... but they need to stop rushing through it, consult more with the patients parent or guardian during or after exams, and maybe SUGGEST a pano rather than arguing with a guardian about it! That pano could save a life.

After having heard so many good things & having met Dr. Boozer when he visited the elementary…read moreschool where I taught years ago, I was happy to pay the extra money to take my three-year-old for her very first dental visit at his office. Unfortunately, the visit was not at all what I had hoped. The girl who called us back did not even speak to my three-year-old (who admittedly was hesitant) when she greeted us, and acted annoyed/lost when she did not immediately hop on the scale for her. This first contact would have been the time for her to engage her/offer a little prize or encouragement, etc. but instead she just seemed unsure of how to approach her. When she asked her to sit in the seat (which is a bit intimidating with all of the equipment and bright lights) she basically just pointed at it and told her to get in, rather than making it a game, explaining the equipment, or doing any number of other things that would have put a three-year-old's mind at ease. My LO was a bit resistant, but did not scream, throw a tantrum, or anything of the sort. Yet, the worker seemed completely lost as to how to deal with her. The actual dentist (not Dr. Boozer) was nicer (at least smiled & tried to convince her) but other than offering a new toothbrush, did not seem to have any other techniques for encouraging three-year-olds either. I had been told that Dr. Boozer's office had a lot of techniques for putting children at ease, but aside from the small television on the ceiling and some games in the waiting area, I did not observe anything that really helped the visit to go smoothly. As an elementary school teacher, I know the importance of engaging children, being friendly with them, and using fun/games/rewards to encourage them to do new or scary things. I thought that this office understood these things as well, but I was very much mistaken. Of course, dealing with a three-year-old is always a huge challenge, but I definitely think they could have done more to make it go smoothly. Update: I have added one star because I called the office manager, and she was very apologetic and seemed to genuinely care. Hoping I just caught them on a bad day, & maybe they will come up with some sort of a "game plan" for giving a little extra TLC on first time visits so that others have a better experience.

Terrible experience with my second child using the orthodontist here. She went for an orthodontist…read moreexam about braces in May and was told she she needed braces and an expander but they were too booked and required a return visit. We showed up May 20 for braces and I paid the deposit in cash. Her first bracket came off on the 24th after business hours, followed by another on the 25th (not eating, but simply laying her head onto a pillow) She is only 8 years old and was panicking because it hurt and the wire was poking. I assured her Monday morning, we'd get her fixed up. Call at 8am Monday/june 3rd to be told the orthodontist is not there and they can't help- only make her comfortable. As they are attempting to replace bands- another bracket breaks off in the dental chair. This was a poor job to begin with. Then I'm told that she can't see an orthodontist to get it fixed until June 20.. so for 3 weeks, she has only 3 brackets on her teeth and little wire. I said it was unacceptable and asked them to take the braces off and refund me. Who puts braces on a small child but isn't present to help in the event she needs it?! Unreal. I'll be disputing charges and asking for a refund to go elsewhere. This is not where you go for braces

I want to mention that I was not present, because because of my work, my husband had to take them. If I had been present, another would be the story. I called to make a report, Maria answered me very kindly, but I know that as in most cases not even that "tammy" will receive a call.
