Although it's a bit of a drive for me it's worth it. I prefer a dentist that is up front with their pricing, insurance practices and policies. Yes, the procedures I needed required financing above what we thought our insurance would cover. Turns out it covered more so large credits on our financing was a welcomed surprise. If they are wrong about what your insurance will cover they take the hit. They also verify that they take your insurance and are in network (lots of dentists don't). One last tip. If the dentist you go to has anything about Botox in their lobby or treatment rooms then get up and leave, you are being scammed and ripped off. read more

I moved to Niceville from Louisiana. I had x-rays done only 5 months before my appointment at Aspen. When making my appointment, I asked if they would be able to use my x-rays and chart form my Louisiana dentist. They said yes, so I emailed them as they requested me to do. After completing the medical history, I was taken back to get X-rays done. I had reminded them that i had already sent them recent x-rays. They responded that they wanted to do their own. After having 25 painful x-rays done, they told me I only needed to do 5 more. I said it's too painful (I have a small mouth), I said no more X-rays. I am 71 years old. Over the years, I have never, ever had to take more than 6 x-rays on any or my prior visits. They took 25 and were not done. I said I could no longer stand the pain. They called the doctor in. He was insensitive to my pain and said they needed to do the remaining x-rays. I told the doctor I could no longer stand the pain and just asked for a cleaning. He said they could not do that. So, I excused myself. I figure that they were getting paid by Humana for the number of x-rays. read more

Thought I would give this place a shot despite the terrible reviews since it was in network for my insurance. I had no issues with the "new patient" exam, but was disappointed that I wasn't able to get my teeth cleaned during the initial visit. Upon return a couple weeks later, I was told I required "deep below the gum" cleaning which would cost me a few hundred bucks extra. Of course, I left and scheduled an appointment with another local dentist. No issues whatsoever! X-rays, exam, cleaning all for less than the gold plated cleaning despite being out of network. I had a dental emergency and they were able to get me in the very next morning and sat me up with a care plan. They explained everything very thoroughly and broke down the cost of everything and what would and wouldn't be covered by my insurance. Needed a crown replaced that was botched by another dental office, Aspen in Niceville squeezed me in quickly, took an xray & recemented the crown at no charge! Dr. T is very knowledgeable and spent extra time explaining options for care of other teeth. Went back for a comprehensive visit and full xray, no charge for that as well! Absolutely horrible. At first I was told they were covered under my insurance, then they told me that I wasn't but not to worry, it was their mistake and they wouldn't charge me. A few months later, I received a "final bill notice before sending to debt collections" and I called immediately. They told me it was a mistake and I should ignore it. They said I had no balance. Now, over a year later I have been contacted by debt collectors for my bill. I called today and they informed me I did in fact now have a balance of $107. It's not much money and I would have paid the same day to avoid this hassle. Instead they've inconvenienced me and damaged my credit score. Terrible. Don't recommend to anyone ever. read more

Aspen dental could not get my brand new Comfy Lite denture to fit my mouth no matter how many impressions they took. They just did a hard re-line to make it fit and sent me out the door. It's been 2 years now and I am due for another hard re-line but unfortunately have to pay out-of-pocket after being told by Hannah in the Niceville office that it was "covered under my warranty" I will not be going back to Aspen dental to have it done. Their business practices are very sketchy. Also be sure to ask for a print out of recommended procedures before getting any work done. Read over everything. I wait 6 months for a teeth cleaning appointment only for them to call me the day before to cancel. When I tried rescheduling the lady told me the only appointment they had open was Friday morning. I told her I couldn't because I had to work. She said the next available she had wasn't until September. That's 7 months away! They did the same thing for my last appointment and I ended up waiting almost a year for a cleaning. They seem to get really rude once you can't take the appointment they wanna give you and tell you that's the only one they have. They have done this several times for my kids appointments as well. Last week my husband went in for his first appointment at 4:30 and they told him his appointment was at 4 and he would have to reschedule. He showed them the confirmation email that they sent him everyday for the last week that clearly said his appointment was at 4:30. She said we can try and squeeze you in. He ended up having to wait over an hour. My 2 kids and I have been patients there for about 3 years and they have really gone downhill. I don't know why they even schedule appointments if they can't ever keep them and they're not willing to work with your schedule at all even though they're the ones canceling. It's very frustrating! Awful. I'm actually writing this review in the chair since they've left me in a room for 45 minutes (still waiting to see the doctor...) The girls up front were not what you would call professional or friendly. I've had x rays before in a dentist office many times but they have NEVER been so incredibly uncomfortable and painful as they were here. If you enjoy being stuck in a freezing room being forced to listen to obnoxiously loud oldies for long periods of time with a rude staff, this is the place for you. Scheduled cleaning appointment over 6 months ago received at least 5 text confirming appointment  even one morning of. Received email also and I confirmed on both email and text. I live 50 miles from this office. My appointment was at 1:30 pm. As i was 3 feet from office door receive a text at 1:10 pm they were closing office early today. We will contact you to reschedule. I went on in and at least 5 patients were in waiting room. I asked if the text was for real and she said to have a seat and she would ask Hygienist. I NEVER write a nasty review. However, I left a message on Frid regarding an appointment my husband had on Mon. No return call. We went to his appointment on Mon. It was like herding cattle in to the pasture. We waited 40 minutes before they called his name. The doctor was terrific. Then we met the OM. He repeated everything the doctor had told us (which we expected to hear) and then we left with his plan. Yesterday I sent an email to the OM asking information regarding insurance and I still have not heard back. I called today and left a message with a human and asked for a return call. First thing the front office and management is dragging this place down. I'm not one to pass judgement on anyone but; he doesn't do what he says he will do and he refuses to call you back or do what you ask him to do. All he wants to do is bill you and or get your insurance to pay money for your appointment when they want even charge a person for the first visits if they don't have insurance. He couldn't contact my insurer while I was there and wanted me to stay until he could. While I was their he was abrupt to customers on the phone and personnel I personnel saw him hang up on people or kept them on hold for more than 15 mins. I went in to have a crown redone but all he wants me to do is a deep cleaning and to get my insurance to pay for it. And he wants that done before the crown gets done. Charlee did a great job of cleaning my teeth but Lisa was suppose to send a prescription to Walmart in Crestview for my infected root and gums but failed to do so. I wasted time going there to pick up and wasted even more time trying to reach Lisa in the office. I left messages and talked to a real person but to no avail. This dentist is the WORSE. I am writing this in the chair. I arrived at 0730 and was in the chair by 740. Great right??? NO. It is now 1030 and I still have not been seen. Ridiculous to leave a patient in chair for so long. And all I need was to have a veneer cemented back on. There are too many dentists to be treated this way. Awful!!! Wednesday was their first day open. I had a cracked tooth and called to find out if they could get me in. Not only were they able to get me in but they were on time! I had appointment for 2:00 pm and I was in the chair by 2:02. Dr Tuladhar was right in and took care of my problem quickly and professionally. His friendliness put me at ease and helped the whole experience. Michelle at the front desk was wonderful as was Jessica. This was the best Dentist visit I have ever had. I had my 86 year old dad with me, as he was visiting, when I came back to the waiting room, Michelle had brought him a bottle of water was sharing stories with him while he waited. THAT meant a lot to me. This Dentist Office will be a huge asset to Niceville. Thanks to all working there, you're going to do great! read more

Would give negative stars if I could. Major issues: poor diagnosis, overcharged, incompetent, dishonest "Minor" issue: condenscending I scheduled a routine cleaning with them because they were the first alphabetically on my insurance company's list. I wish I had done research first, because 5 minutes of reading reviews may have saved me months of pain. During my exam with Dr. Tuladhar I mentioned that my left canine was sensitive while brushing. He chastised me for going 18 months without an examination because "surely you had $200," recommended a "deep cleaning", replace 7 fillings, and a "cancer screening". A hygienist did the "deep cleaning" and Dr. Casiano did the fillings. I went in for a routine, insurance-covered cleaning with no pain, and left with a $2,315 bill ($454.03 out of my pocket), and in such pain that I couldn't chew anything, was having headaches, and couldn't sleep. This pain persisted for months and I still cannot chew or floss in certain areas. Also, during checkout I told them I did not want their $135 toothbrush, but they charged and provided it anyway (I had to drive back to return it the next day). I complained about the pain and scheduled a follow-on appointment. Dr. Casiano did not know what could be causing the pain, performed a few minor actions to fix, then recommended a root canal. This is when I left their office for good. My subsequent dentist at a different practice (who has wonderful reviews) has since said that a "cancer screening" should be a part of a routine exam with no extra charge, diagnosed my pain as potential teeth grinding on the dental work, and provided a trial mouth guard free of charge which has begun alleviating the pain (I still cannot floss in certain areas). Finally, I tried calling one of their customer service numbers provided in other reviews and it said to contact my local office or a regional manager, then hung up. I also tried to leave a negative review on their corporate website but the link is broken. On the up side, their staff's customer service is fine, my appointments were scheduled fine, my wait time was fine. Is this worth the multi-level pain of what I have gone through over the last several months? No. Find a different dentist. read more

I have been paying out of pocket for my son's twice-a-year dental needs while we're waiting for his dental card from his employer. I always made sure that he never misses a check-up/appointments to the dentist. He always gets good reports from these dentists due to his diligence in brushing/flossing and meeting his regular dental appointments. And lo and behold, he received his dental card and Aspen Dental was one of the network providers. I have read unfavorable reviews of Aspen Dental, but since those reviews were for the Fort Walton Beach branch, their newly opened branch here in Niceville might be different, so I made an appointment. After my son was seen, while still at their clinic, I found out that they only took X-rays of his teeth... no cleaning, and to top it off, he had a co-pay of $23. Then I'm told that he has to make another appointment for cleaning, for another co-pay of $53. Then I was told that he has gingivitis, which I have to make another appointment. I told the staff that he doesn't have gingivitis since he was just seen 6 months ago... and regularly... and he is meticulous with his dental hygiene including using a mouthwash after brushing. So the dentist was summoned, and I told him that he doesn't have gingivitis to which the doctor said (not verbatim, but the same effect), "if you have a disease, like a heart disease, don't you want to cure it?" I said that I would, but my son doesn't have gingivitis. Of course there would be another co-pay for gingivitis! Once I got home, I canceled the cleaning appointment with Aspen Dental and proceeded to make a dental appointment with the local dentist who lives in the area and who has been seeing my son (Ottesen Dental). After my son was seen by Dr. Ottesen, I was waiting to hear about my son's "gingivitis," but I didn't hear anything from the hygienist. I don't mind paying out of pocket, which wasn't much compared to the co-pays Aspen Dental charge to their unsuspecting customers who didn't realize that they are made to pay for unnecessary procedures like my son's false diagnosis. I feel bad for those people who uses Aspen Dental who are just making minimum wage because that is their only dental provider within their network, the elderly, and those individuals who doesn't have anybody looking out for them. Only Aspen Dental who splits appointments for x-rays and cleaning... of course... it's the co-pay or separate procedures pay, or whatever. I truly feel that Aspen Dental will try to use up any available procedure that a patient is allowed to have under her/his insurance coverage. I've been to quite a few dental providers due to our ever changing employer dental insurance provider (yearly), but this is the first time I've experienced this kind of service... Aspen Dental it seems like is run like a money making factory without regard to its patients ability to pay. I feel sad for its unsuspecting patients =( read more

I will never go back here again. The Dentist didn't seem interested in what I had to say. I was supposed to have a routine cleaning but no one told me the hygienist went home early so I went there for nothing and had to come back again for the cleaning. The business office manager's main role is to act as a salesperson and try to sell me their electric toothbrush and medicated toothpaste when checking out. No matter how many times I told her I didn't want it, she was adamant about adding it to my total to see if I agreed. I'm not going to the dentist to try to be persuaded into buying their products. She also seemed incompetent when it came to insurance. The hygienist was the WORST I've ever had. She tries to get through it as fast as possible and doesn't even attempt to clean your teeth properly. She proceeded to get toothpaste and varnish all over my face because she was so sloppy and splashed water on my face multiple times. She was rude and very rough with my mouth and seemed like she'd rather be anywhere else. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone. read more
