This company only cares about making a profit, leading their staff to lower standards of patient care and comfort. I got 2 fillings done a few years ago and to this day I still cannot eat certain foods due to pain. I was told it was a common occurrence, yet after I got a second opinion they asked me if I had a root canal!!! The doctor at Aspen dug out almost my entire tooth. I had my first visit here a few days ago and needed some x-rays for my wisdom teeth. The dentist that did the x-rays seemed to be in a rush and didn't care about my comfort. They had a hard piece that I had to bite down on but was extremely uncomfortable in my mouth and she ended up scratching the inside of my mouth making them swell and bother the portion under my tongue. After x-rays we did a gum analysis and was told I have a gum disease and that I need some type of gum/tooth cleaning. After my appointment, I got an estimate of the total price and it was $5,300 for everything. I was super shocked by the amount and asked what just the wisdom teeth extractions would cost and they said $1,200. Like what... $4,100 for a cleaning?? I was flabbergasted! read more

Beware, Aspen dental did my upper dentures, I paid in full for the best denture. A year later I go and get fitted for my permanent plate and I had to pay an additional 484 for the plate that I paid in full for when they pulled my teeth. Beware. I recommend you save your money and go to an honorable dentist. I hope that helps you make your decision. Nobody warned me about how they treat people. I would give a zero but they don't allow you to. My nightmare started in February 2024 one doctor Callie Perry scheduled me for an extraction of tooth number 14 but instead she pulled on number 15 and damaged it so bad that I had to come back and get that one pulled as well. As of today December 1, 2024 I have yet to get a letter back from them explaining their negligence or trying to fix their mistakes. What's all too convenient is Dr. Callie decided to step down from her practicing in July 2024 so now I have to deal with Dr. John who showed no care for the damage that was caused and what's now to come. I will never recommend this Dentist office to anyone I went in for my first appointment and everything seems to be running smoothly at the end of my appointment. They asked me to pay half of the money to see the Dentist and asked me to pay $80 upfront for my next appointment. I paid the money for the appointment. They called me to reschedule my appointment the Friday before. They called me at noon. I returned the phone call and no one answered my phone call. However, I called this morning and no one answered my phone calls either( my appointment was in 1hour) I had to have my friend call and they answered her phone call. I was on three-way so I was able to give them all the information they needed to verify that it was me. once someone was on the phone. They explained to me that there will be no doctor in office and that I need to come and finish paying for the appointment and then I will need to reschedule in order to be seen. This is very unprofessional and will not be back in this office or any of the locations; because I called another location and they were very rude to me. read more

My husband and I used Aspen Dental in 2021 after covid kept us away in 2020. They over charged him by $50.00 and had to refund after the insurance company sent them the request. Last night, I called to verify my appointment and time for today. I told the lady who answered that I needed my costs. I no longer have dental insurance and would need a cleaning only. First, she says it is $0.00, I say that can't be right I do not have insurance. After a 10+/- hold time she comes back and says it will be $48.00. GREAT!! I will see you in the morning. Today, I show up and they lady asks do I still have X insurance, no I do not. Ok, then it will be $175.00 for today. WAIT.... WHAT?? I talked to someone last night and was told $48; oh that is for the fluoride only. Needless to say, I did not stay and will NEVER go back. I encourage everyone to steer clear if there is a possibility of no insurance after visit 1 (where everything is included for $19). What a shame :( read more

You cannot trust Aspen Dental. They are not forthcoming with their patients and not interested in anything but up selling you on very expensive procedures while ignoring the reason you came to them in the first place. Because of their failure to provide appropriate care I am now having to under go a root canal and crown. Although I am having that done by a much better dentist for half the price Aspen wanted to charge. But they did try to gaslight me multiple times when I complained about their "service". They are also blaming a "data corruption" as the reason they won't give me ALL my dental records. So they are good at shifting blame if that's what you want in a dental provider. read more

After reading MAAANY reviews I'll be seeking a second opinion. I went in for what I thought was a routine cleaning (first time here) and was told I needed $10,000+ worth of work. Apparently everyone that walks in this place needs gum treatments and crown, etc. Granted I've not seen a dentist in 3 years but I have a hard time believing my mouth is in as bad of a shape as they made it out to be (I rated my smile a 9/10 on their scale but they said I have bone loss etc). After I told them I didn't have the money to pay the $1500 post insurance portion (they kept telling me how great my insurance coverage was) they said they couldn't do a simple cleaning on me, that it was illegal since I needed a more extensive cleaning. The girl that did my X-rays was incredible as well as the dental assistant, the Dentist and last but not least Stephanie was one of the best "closers" I have ever met! What an impressive team. This corporate office tried to push me into substantially more treatment than two other dentists thought that I needed. On my first visit, I got a thorough dental exam, but they didn't bother to schedule me for a cleaning. They then said that I had seven cavities that would cost $500 to fix, and made a big show of telling me that the fillings needed to be done right away. This seemed surprising to me, as my previous dentist had said I had a couple of loose fillings she was watching, but they didn't seem to need treatment yet. I decided to seek out a second opinion, and was much happier with a new, non-corporate dentist I found through a friends recommendation. This new dentist also agreed that the fillings were worth watching, but didn't merit immediate treatment. Most frustrating though, was that it was very difficult to get access to any of my dental records from Aspen Dental. I filled out the appropriate forms for my Xrays to be transferred to the new dentist, and the local office said they'd need to be looked at through their corporate headquarters - this was supposed to take 3-5 business days. 14 business days later, my new dentist still hadn't received the records. I called their office again, and the office manager emailed screenshots of my records to the new dentist, but the screenshots were of such poor quality that the new dentist had to retake the X-rays anyways. read more

Go for tooth pain in two teeth, am referred to another doctor to treat those two teeth for root canals, but am given an estimate to come back after seeing the other doctor to have $7,400 dollars of work dont including over $2,000 of what they call hygiene care.... None of which fixes my current pain, which is another cost from another doctor because they can't do the work here. This place literally ruined my Sunday afternoon all because my wife went there 5 years ago. Yes FIVE years ago. My wife went to them 5 years ago, was told she needed 2 wisdom teeth pulled. She scheduled the procedure, paid the estimate aspen dental gave her, and showed up to have them do a different procedure instead. The procedure they did still left her with two cavity filled wisdom teeth, and somehow owing an extra $23. She has tried several times between now and then to get someone in billing on the phone to resolve this 23$ (obviously there is no need for us to feel responsible for paying this). She has had no luck getting anyone to even to talk to her, but today (arrived yesterday in the mail) received notification that her 23$ has been turned over to collections. I will repeat. Apsen Dental turned my wife over to collections , over 23$, even after she paid in full for the procedure they estimated her for. She still has two cavities, and I have a completely ruined day off of work. All over a 23$ ignorant estimate by Aspen Dental 5 years ago. Yeah I hate this place. Edit: My wife has already called billing over Aspen Dental's estimate troubles. The incompetent billing issue was not even responded to when she did this. My husband went In to get his teeth fixed the staff were quite friendly u til the dentist came in, couldn't fix his tooth until he did $2k of cleaning for some reason, the dentist belittled my husband, and made derogatory comments about him and his teeth and did not even address the reason he was there. The issue was not addressed. He went in there as a filling came out, came out with no fix and insulted by the dentist. I wanted to give this place multiple tries before leaving a review, but my husband's treatment is the final straw. I, personally, went to Aspen on three different occasions. The first was my initial consultation, the second was for teeth cleaning and fillings, and the third was a follow-up. At my first appointment, I paid for my future services in full to ensure everything would go as smoothly as possible for my next appointment. However, when I arrived for my second appointment, I was told by the receptionist that I owed the total amount on my bill. After standing my ground and ensuring she checked my account, she realized I was correct. In other words, she was happy to charge me +$300 before even checking. I was so rushed during my appointment that I was not fully numb before they began drilling for my fillings. I would be given an injection, and before the assistant even set the syringe down, there would already be poking and prodding in my mouth. At my third appointment, I waited for nearly an hour just for a 5-minute check-in. As if this wasn't enough, this past Monday, my husband had a wisdom tooth removal, an appointment that he waited over a month for. The dentist initially told him that he would need both of his bottom wisdom teeth removed; however, during the surgery itself, only one tooth was removed. The dentist assured him that removing the other three teeth would not be necessary. Aspen told us he would be refunded the amount he paid for the other tooth, but we have still not received a refund to his account. It is the Saturday after his Monday procedure as I write this. On Thursday, my husband was in extreme pain and stated that his pain was the same, if not worse, than earlier in the week. I told him to call the office because he likely suffered from a dry socket. When he called, the receptionist was short and rude. She told him that pain after a surgery like this was normal and that he should call back on Monday. She made no effort to ensure that he was cared for or comfortable. This morning, my husband went to Premier Dental in Knoxville as the pain had become unbearable. Not only did he have a dry socket, but all 3 of his remaining wisdom teeth were impacted and would need to be removed. Aspen was happy to let my husband suffer over the weekend as none of their local offices were open till Monday. We will NEVER be returning, and I would advise everyone to go somewhere, anywhere else. read more

Dr. Brown is also very thorough and gives wonderful injections. Any cost was explained before services were rendered. We found them to be very affordable. We gave her our insurance cards and she yells across the waiting room at us that my husband doesn't have dental benefits on his account (which he does)...so I called them and they said "yes" of course. She then proceeded to tell me that wasn't good enough...she'd have to speak to them herself. I called his insurance again, and had the woman on the line to tell her the benefits...and she just held her finger up at me and said I'm busy now, you'll have to wait a minute.
