I am disgusted by this place. My husband had an appointment and as soon as he walks in they reschedule him for the next day? Ok so here he is the next day waits for an hour in the office he hears the office signing HAPPY BIRTHDAY?! And then a lady comes out and says to my husband "oh your still here?" so you knew he was there waiting and I assume she would have been ok that he waited so long that he would've just gotten pissed and left. I went there for a dental implant so I did my homework up front. I specifically asked if they took my insurance for an implant and was told that they did. I also asked about the cost and was told it would be no more than $2000 without insurance. After about 8 X-rays , I was taken to their green room and was told they didn't except my insurance and the cost was double what I had been quoted. I just received a bill for $147 for nothing. I was rudely told on the phone the reason I needed a "deep cleaning" was because I had periodontal disease. I knew this was NOT true as I get my teeth looked at and cleaned every 6 months since I was little. My dentist of 7 years never said this yet a "hygienist" was able to make this observation how? Glad I walked away as my new dentist confirmed I do NOT require deep cleanings, completely unnecessary and confirms it's the Aspen model so they can charge patients more. Do your own research, see how many others have complained about the same thing. The hygienist who called me because I had walked out refusing to pay for something I did not need or want, tried to bully me about the whole situation under the guise of let me explain. She did not like I was questioning why and how was it I never was told this information before? She eluded that my previous dentist missed it? Really? That's right, he didn't because it doesn't exist. Horrible experience! 4 o'clock appointment the lady who did my X-rays was very aggressive and scratched my mouth with the instruments. Once I got to the back they forgot I was back there and were having a conversation about birthdays while I'm waiting for a consult. No one ever came. The business closed at 5pm around 5:15 the same X-ray tech came in A nd said that someone would call me about a consult and never did! I had an appointment a short time ago with the East Main Street Spartanburg facility, as a new patient. I had Xrays done and an overall preliminary exam,,,,all was normal. I then subsequently set up an appointment for a cleaning. I was told by text and phone the appointment was at 1 pm. I arrived at 12:50 only to find a note on the door, "we are in a meeting and will re-open the doors at 1:30. I chose not to wait for 40 minutes and called the main customer service line to cancel my appointment. I called in not very long after that and asked for a new appointment......I made it clear to the customer service rep that I was NOT a new patient and just needed an appointment for cleaning. I arrived today 2/23/26 for my 2pm appointment only to be told by the front desk that the call center had set me up for a new patient appt. At that time I was told they could not keep/give me the 2pm appt and that I would have to reschedule. I was told by the front desk, "oh yes, the call center makes these errors all the time" This was the 2nd time I went for a cleaning appointment only to be asked to yet again, please reschedule. In March 2025, I paid almost $4000 (double my last 2 sets) for a set of dentures and it's November 2025 and I still have not been able to wear them. I have been to (4) adjustment appointments & they still are not correct. I made my 5th Adjustment appointment (2) weeks ago for Wed., 11/05 @ 4pm. I called Tues @ 2pm to confirm my app. & they said they gave it to someone else b/c I didn't confirm my 4pm, (2) days before. I do not get off of work until 5pm & they are closed by then. If they can't make my dentures correctly or keep my appointments then they should refund my $4000 b/c that's a lot of money to me, especially for a paperweight b/c that's all their good for so far. read more

I would not recommend this office to my worst enemy. Everything seemed nice enough, and I expressed my fear of dentists to them from the get-go. They assured me I was in good hands to get my extractions and dentures. I trusted them. On extraction day, The dentist that saw me hurt me so bad with the huge needle to numb with, I thought I would pass out. He was NOT gentle. I tried to vocalize, but all he would say was "I know, I know". OK. that was bad enough, but my temporary teeth had SQUARED edges and hurt so bad. I went twice to get them to smooth them out....but the bi-lingual assistant just kept saying I had to wait 5 weeks for a reline. That wasn't what I was asking! So...I suffered through. I had a piece of bone or tooth in my lower gum which made wearing the bottoms impossible. When it finally worked its way out...I made the appt. for my re-line. However...I just got back with NO re-line. After paying 4000.00 from my insurance and 326.00 out of pocket...they said I still owed 57 dollars and would not do the re-line until it was paid. I explained to them I am on a fixed income and wouldn't have it until the 1st on July. It didn't matter. They wouldn't do it. I told them I would do it myself. before I left, I made sure they told me my permanents were already paid for. They said they were...and when I pick them up...if I don't get them...I will get a lawyer. read more

When I arrived I was told at the reception desk that my first time visit would be free,I filled out information that my denture needed to be refined there was a small hole in it. They called me back and took me to xray which the lady that did my xray explained the Dr has to see my bone structure,why to get denture repaired ? Then the dr came in placed my denture in my mouth and said good fit then he took the denture back to ask if and when it could be repaired said it would be repaired around noon or soon there after. Finance person comes in and I follow her out to her office area there she says I owe $194.00 I mention that on your ad you say $49.00 for repair she never acknowledged what I said then after paying and going back to pick up my dentures she calls me and say I owe $49.00 ,I told her I owe you nothing I paid you $194.00 aspen dental has overly inflated prices and I never got an consult about cost and they need to be singing from the same hymn book if the first visit is free and if repairs are $49.00 or $194.00. read more

DO NOT GO HERE AT ALL . I'm begging you for your own good . I have never experienced this much pain just from having one tooth removed. I'm a grown man that works in construction. I've experienced many types of pain but this has topped them all . I wish I would have just kept taking antibiotics until my dentist was available through out the week but my tooth was abscess and I was worried. Half way through the extraction the numbing went away & I was trembling in pain as he dug into my mouth trying to get out the remainder of the root . And he kept going . After he got done I was in so much pain it brought me to my knees . I've never been to a place so unprofessional & the dentist DOES NOT DESERVE TO HAVE A PRACTICE OR LICENSE. Don't trust these just out of school dentist or the Aspen Umbrella. They have caused me a lot of pain and time without teeth; only to when they do try to fix the problem; that they sometimes caused; implanted a tooth that was not straight or color match, or as far as molars go are saying that they " don't know, we need to just have another implant " to fix a problem that I didn't have before they started work o. Said tooth! My insurance will only cover said dentist. If they can not explain to me why a crown needs to be pulled and replaced with an implant, I would rather go to Mexico and take my chances there!!! read more

This Aspen Dental location is great! I am always able to be seen within a reasonable amount of time. In fact, I've had dental emergencies and was able to be seen the same day. I had zoom whitening, a cleaning, and now a couple root canals and crowns. During each visit, I feel listened to and respected. The staff is professional, patient, and empathetic. Dr. Yates is wonderful. He's friendly, knowledgeable and very good at what he does; I trust him. If you need a root canal, Dr. Ryan, whom is one of their available endodontists, is absolutely wonderful. She performed my root canals and they were delightful. I know that sounds very weird, but it was painless. I mean no pain at all. She really took care of me by making sure I was absolutely numb and comfortable. I am ever so grateful! The entire team at Aspen Dental are superstars, which is why they are my go-to place for my dental needs. Overall, I feel that I get quality service by compassionate and knowledgeable doctors and staff. read more

This place is a joke. I went in as a new patient because my bottom plate was broken. Dont get me wrong, these folks are very friendly, and seemed knowledgeable and decided I would get new plates made. They repaired my bottom plate @ 189.00 which only lasted one day. After getting the run around for about 2 weeks I had an appointment to come in. After getting there they tell me I didn't have an appointment and my plates weren't ready. 2 weeks...I was LIVID!! So, I finally get my new dentures. My mouth hurt so bad, I couldn't eat, and could hardly wear them at all, only to work and couldn't wait to get them out of my mouth. The dentures weren't cheap, AT ALL!! After all the pain and suffering, I let them know I wouldn't be back. After about six weeks, low and behold, my brand new bottom plate broke half in to so I had no choice but to go back. That was 12/6/23. We will put a rush on this They said. It is now 12/29/23 and still no bottom plate. I called a week after and they tell me their just getting started on them. What are these folks doing? My advise is to stay away from Aspen Dental. I understand some folks have a decent experience with this company, but after reading reviews, MOST DON'T!! I'm not causing any problems, but I won't ever use this dental office again. How does it take almost a month to get a plate made, especially when you already have the mold. I am out 2 grand, and nothing to show for it. I would rate a NO STAR if it was a option. My advise, go to a normal dentist, it's worth the extra money. read more

May 13 2021 11am well the start today they made the mold of my upper gum line for denture the young lady who did the trays was great awesome job then dr yates came in made a wax thing for lining up the teeth so far so good as I was leaving the office evryone I passed say by have nice day I still shocked about some of the reviews on this place for my 2nd visit I will say no one is pushy or try to upsale me so I happy that I choose to come here as my own thought there great so far will ad more as we move along next stop in june 2 2021 see how it go read more

I cannot recommend this dental office to anyone. i went in the office February and left in June with a lower partial that I was not happy with. Took three tries to get the color of the teeth right. I returned several times after they were making adjustments. On the partial there is a medal strip that covers one of my teeth. When you close your mouth, the upper and lower teeth are supposed to come together and coordinate. it is aggravating for my top teeth to come together with a metal strip below, so It is hard to eat with the partial inside the mouth. I usually have to remove the partial to eat. Not only that, there are two teeth in front. One of the teeth is made to look shorter than the other tooth. I complained about these things but got no answer to correct these problems, so I left with a partial that I am not happy with. I usually just wear this partial when I leave home, otherwise it remains in the soaking container. read more

Bait and switch. They advertise a cleaning for $70. After the exam by the hygienist I was told I needed a deep cleaning that would cost over 1,000! I explained I did not want that done, I just wanted a routine cleaning and they refused to schedule this. I feel the patient has a right to refuse the more expensive treatment and now they lost a patient who would have paid for two cleanings a year. The office was efficient and friendly, the dentist was great but the business practice is unfair and sneaky. The only good thing was I got a copy of my free X-rays to take to another provider so I guess it was worth the hour visit and the hour of driving. I have been going to a reputable dentist in Pennsylvania for 20 years before moving to SC. He never said I needed a deep cleaning even though I had other extensive, expensive work done by him. read more

I came in and waited not long, maybe 5-10 minutes before a very nice staff member told me they were running behind and asked if I would be willing to reschedule, she even offered me a gas card for my trouble. Wonderful customer service! Thank you for not letting me wait forever and for your kind and courteous manner. RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. I was quoted $235 for one simple molar extraction - had it extracted at Palmetto Denture Clinic for $75. The staff was mostly pleasant, but the dentist who saw me had a terrible bedside manner. I'll never return to Aspen Dental for any service. read more

This location of Aspen Dental has a courteous office staff that is flexible and responsive to the needs of the patient. So why Only 2 stars? Michael Porter, their oral surgeon, is one of the poorest excuses for a doctor that I have ever met... and I work in the medical industry, so that is really saying something! He was supposed to removed 14 teeth to prep me for dentures, but refused to give me anything stronger than Norco 5 for the pain. (?) In EMS, nearly all drug calculations are done by body weight. I weigh 300+ pounds and this person wanted to treat the pain of 14 surgically extracted teeth with nothing more than Norco 5. Clearly, no calculations were made here and the degree of disconnection from the reality of the situation is really disturbing. When I complained, he felt the need to explain in very condescending terms about the ongoing opioid crisis... despite the fact that I was dressed in EMS gear at the time. (We are the ones on the front line of the opioid epidemic, after all.) And when I pointed out that the knee-jerk reaction to this issue was simply a pathetic response that kept patients from receiving the care that they need, he claimed that I had called HIM pathetic and went off on a surprisingly unprofessional rant. (I don't call people names. I am an adult unlike this over-privileged kid.) His reaction was shockingly juvenile and he refused to treat me stating that he was not in a good state of relationship with me. In other words, he was willing to leave me in serious pain for another month while I find scout out another DDS who is covered by my Cigna plan... all because his fragile ego had been bruised by a criticism that was never aimed at him. In the end, I am glad he refused to treat me. I require a greater degree of maturity and stability from anyone who is going to be performing surgery on me. I had implants started in another city. Before moving, my Aspen dentist spoke with someone at the Spartanburg office to discuss my case to verify they could finish the process. I then made an appt with them in May for Oct. I drove 90 mins to get there only to be taken back 15 mins late. They said they didn't obtain my records and can't do implants. Didn't even have the courtesy to call before I drove all that way. Was on the schedule all that time and no idiot thought to check on that, never mind they lied twice about their ability. They tried backtracking to get me in at another Aspen, except they refused to call me back after issuing me out of the office. Then they claimed how much they were helping me by calling my original dentist in my old city to have him hunt up another dentist to finish my work. Unbelievable. They get you in for a free evaluation, (x-rays and exam), and then tell you that you need thousands of dollars of work which you don't need. If you ask them for an easier solution, they tell you there is none (i.e. dentures, implants, bonding, ect.) Never again - nothing is for free - they are a franchise chain and like franchise chains, they are all about the cha ching. read more

Really wish I could rate this place less than a one star. This is just a warning to anyone considering Aspen Dental. Do no fall for the free exam "scam" they use to get you into their office. In an attempt to save a few dollars I called to make appointments for my family. I was told by the Aspen dental rep that the free exam offer was available to children so I signed them up. Now I have a bill for several hundred dollars that I keep getting harassed about. I called the office and was told that I should not have been told that the offer applied to children because it did not. They apologized and said a manager would be in touch with me soon to resolve the matter. That was a month ago and I continue to get notices in the mail. I've since found out that Aspen Dental has had several complaints and even settled lawsuits nationwide because of unfair practices dealing with billing. Save yourself some money and do not take shortcuts. I should have stuck with our regular dentist office!!! read more

My husband has had dental health concerns for years. His teeth were damaged and deteriorating due to acne medication he was prescribed as a teenager. After getting the opinions of several other dentists offices in the Spartanburg area we settled on this one. The staff was friendly and helpful and they alleviate my husband's anxiety regarding the initial appointment. After getting the opinion of one of the dentists at this office we chose to have dentures fitted and the damaged teeth extracted. The staff gave my husband a prescription for pain medication prior to the procedure, and spoke to my husband's family physician to get him an anxiety medication for the day of his surgery. My husband successfully and painlessly had 19 teeth extracted and dentures fit the same day. The dentist and support staff turned a frightful experience into a manageable one with their professionalism and empathy. Financing the procedure was one of our major concerns, and the staff was able to find us a financing option that worked with our budget with no interest! All in all this was an amazing experience considering the severity of the surgery. I would recommend this dentist to anyone who has a fear of the dentist or cost concerns. Thank you! read more

My advice, stay away from Aspen Dental. They are the most dishonest, deceptive people I've dealt with in my 70 years. I am new in the area and picked them out of the phone book and my medicare insurance listed them as a provider as well. I asked them not to perform any procedures in my mouth that my insurance did not cover as I am a widow with social security as my only income. When I was leaving their office in June I was told I had no additional charges, then lo and behold on Dec 23rd I received a bill for $154 with a note that payment was due on Dec 29th! I don't know what recourse I have other than call my insurance and medicare, and possibly get in touch with the Better Business Bureau - not expecting any miracles though.. read more
